[GUIDE] Downgrade SM-G920i from Android 7.0 to 6.0.1 with Secure Download Enabled - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all!
This is my first tutorial here, hope to be useful as it was for me. After several attempts and extense research mainly here in XDA I finally achieved to downgrade my SM-G920I from 7.0 to 6.0.1 even with secure boot enabled.
The basics: Using a chilean stock 6.0.1 ROM:
- I've extracted all files from the stock rom and repacked it as 4 files without sboot.bin Instructions here: forum DOT gsmhosting DOT com/vbb/f777/tutorial-create-samsung-4-file-multi-firmware-your-own-100-a-1860706/- I've used a PIT default file for my model and region from here: sammobile dot com/forum/threads/30173-galaxy-S6-G920-pit-files
The instructions are the usual, Using Odin 3.12, flash the files into their respective slots and select the PIT file into PIT tab also. In options disable auto reboot and check re partition.
Download link in progress, but you can DIY with the instructions before.

downgrade issue can you give me the PIT file for sm-g920f please
also i have issue to back to nougat an error occured hidden.img durinf flashing

Have you downloaded a 6.0.1 stock rom for your model and then followed my instructions?
PD: The FRP for your device in on the second link mentioned before.

There is easier way ,after extracting delete all .bin (aboot cache hidden and something else cant remember)then repack using 7zip to the originat format u will notice that the new archive is bigger it's about 3.6 gb inside there is data, system and some other files flash the new archive with odin and thats all ,worked fine t mobile g920t downgrading from nougat to mm

Yes, you are right. Using 7zip is a lot easier.

Will work on Att version G920A with locked bootloader on 7.0? I've been researching 2 days to see about downgrading it 6.0.1 while taking least chances as possible. If answer is yes, when repackaging should I remove md5 extension on all 4 files?
Thanks

Just select the file and compress them using normal compression in options ,maybe the problem is with your version of odin

Need N8000 Multiple files

Hi all,
Can anyone pls point me to download N8000 Factory Firmware with all files:
CSC, CODE, MODEM (and maybe BOOTLOADER also) and PIT.
Possibly also that of i8190 - Galaxy S3 mini
Thanks in advance

Which file?
There are too many files on those links and im sure most of them will be 1 single file (md5 or tar)
But what I need is the complete 3 or 4 files with PIT.
Do you know which ?
Sammobile.com have a look also look at the PIT file post here some place .
Your post should be in Q&A its not development .

You can use Heimdall to extract your PIT, just put your device in download mode and go to utilities -> detect; then press download.
For the files, just extract your .zip file, rename the .tar.md5 as .tar, and if you have 7z installed you can extract this file.
You'll find the files you need.

Full firmware with pit file

Hi
My device came with ILO product code.
I played with few (official) firmwares and after initializing my device using smart switch, I can no longer return to my original firmware. It's turns out that the initialization through smart switch used a pit file with very little place for "hidden.img"
Every firmware with above average hidden partition fail with odin.
Where can I get pit file for my location or even better - full firmware with pit included?
Thanks in advance
Sammobile?
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Their firmware's are stripped down - without the file I need

Same problem here.any help?
Hi
we meet again
I found this firmware
http://www.gsmforum.ru/threads/221072-G920F-(Galaxy-S6)?
it contains pit with 100MB for hidden.img
I downloaded but haven't flashed yet,
too many flashed in the last couple of days.
edit:
just compared the 100mb pit with the one currently on my phone using this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916936
the differences are - larger hidden.img in expense of userdata
Thread moved to proper forum.

Would u share that new pit with larger hidden.img?i mean just the pit.i will test that and share the resault here
I can still flash one or two more roms.
Have fun

How do you do that?
If you're on windows - download 7zip and make a new tar with all the files from original firmware+the pit file
ok,just double checking to make sure i do not make any more mistakes.i should put the pit file here right?
Yes
------------------------------
when you choose to add files to archive
just select in archive format - tar

If you prefer, you can do it in another way
download this file
https://mega.co.nz/#!oJF1nAAS!bHpoSXEiBBLLYtj4HYQZUDvCcvLwUUgNin3wJLeT3eI
flash it (and only it) as csc
reboot again to download mode and flash XSG (original - without added pit)
Very Nice Thanks for the INFO. :good:
I only want to know why PIT can brick your device?

Problem flashing s6 stock image

Hi guys
I wonder could anyone help me. I'm trying to flash a stock ROM on my s6 with ODIN. It goes so far and then fails on hidden.img I've researched it and the solution found here seems to have worked for most people. My problem is i cant get Odin to recognise the hidden.img.tar file - it just cant see it. I've tried all sorts of ways and i rename it as described and odin just wont recognise it in the right format. Please can someone help me? Just for the record what i do is:
The main image file i open with winrar. I get 8 files. i select the hidden.img file and extract and rename it as per the article. Odin i then select ap and point it at the location and it just wont find it. Odin 3.10.7 and windows 7 and windows 10

Full System Dump SM-G950N

To start this off I DID NOT extract this. I am just re-uploading a file I found on this forum. This contains everything for the S8's system. I also have some links to ODIN files from
The 3rd link from Mega and google drive contain EVERY system file. This is every APK and the framework-res.apk. This also has all the fonts and Cameradata and the new over the horizon song.

I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS. I am just making a thread to put all relevant links in one place.

I was not able to get it, use sgs2toext4.jar. It was not working for me. In the .md5 of the odin file use winrar to extract the system.img file and put it into sgs2toext4.jar. It would work to give you an image to mount. I was not able to get it to work. Try using the last link i posted because it contains 99% of the system.
Uh oh, looks like the archive is corrupted. Can't extract w/ 7zip win 10

I used winrar and it was fine.
I have a question, can I install the firmware from SM-G950F to the SM-G950N? I have 5 file versions of firmware from SM-G950F which has polish language. Or maybe there is another method for uploading firmware with Polish menu and without brand?

Odin Error (Can't open the specified file) line 1892 - FIXED (for me)

Hope this might help someone here.
I rooted my s8+ and basically got stuck with a soft-bricked phone, telling me I could only use official firmware etc etc. I was able to get the phone into download mode (eventually) but I wasn't able to flash anything including the stock Pie rom. I spent all night trying to find a solution to no avail and then found this, which I've edited a bit. And it worked. I've now got my s8+ back with Android 9 on it without any bloatware and it's actually better than ever. Thanks to Krolik301 for your help. I'm just hoping this may help someone.
1. Download the stock ROM and extract it.
2. Make a copy of the CSC file and rename one from the file type .md5 to .rar
3. Extract the PIT file from the CSC .rar file.
4. In Odin v3.13, make sure you add all four files from the extracted ROM (BL, AP, CP and CSC).
5. Click the PIT tab and add the PIT file that you just extracted from the CSC.rar file.
6. I the Options tab of Odin, make sure that Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are all ticked.
7. Click Start and hopefully you'll be back to your stock ROM
And please don't hold me responsible for any loss of data or a phone that still won't boot.
Hope this helps someone. Happy Easter

Hello. I'm helping someone on discord with this exact issue (the error code is "can't open the specified file (line 665)". I extracted the PIT file from CSC and placed it into the PIT file. I also put all of the firmware files in their proper place (except for HOME_CSC, as he wants to keep his files). Do I absolutely have to put the CSC file in place of the HOME_CSC file?
