Hello Everyone
I have installed TWRP 3.1.0 on my galaxy s2 and also Lineage 14.1 . So far so good . It wasn't that hard to install custom rom and recovery but i got an issue which is upgrading TWRP 3.1.0 to the latest version 3.2.3 . I did everything correct but it just does not update to latest version. Once i installed the recovery image then rebooted , TWRP disappeared and stock recovery showed up. I also installed TRWP app (installed img and flash to recovery etc.. ) as well but nothing worked.
My question is does Galaxy s2 support latest TWRP or is there anything else that i should do ? Please if you can share any solution to solve this or any suggestion to update TWRP to latest version.
Thank you

Are you using iso-rec recovery?
There is a specific combination that is required to flash TWRP on your device.
I'm assuming that you have used the re-PIT created by @Lanchon, since you have LOS installed. The way the recovery is handled on your device is it is packaged into the kernel bundle, I believe, so it isn't flashed to the stock recovery partition, it is flashed in another location where the iso-rec recovery was originally flashed. When you tried to update your TWRP, you probably corrupted how that is structured and it reverted back to stock recovery instead of booting TWRP because, as far as I know, the stock recovery is still installed in its native recovery partition, even after flashing iso-rec recovery. Find an updated iso-rec version of TWRP for i9100

TWRP issue for galaxy s2 i9100
Hi Droidriven
Thank you very much for responding my message , i'm using iso-rec recovery 3.1.0 right now and i followed these steps to install it ;
1 - I9100 _1.5GB system _6gb data _ 512MB PRE-LOAD by gangster .pit
2 - IP KERNEL 14-03-CWM - FOR + ODIN ( via odin )
and then
lanchon 20160406 I9100 + twrp 3.1.0 .
I did everything correct with istallation of twrp 3.1.0 and LOS
I'm wondering how can i upgrade twrp 3.1.0 to 3.2.3 ?
I thought galaxy s2 does not support latest version of twrp recovery . TWRP 3.1.0 is the only latest version that works for galaxy s2. Is that correct or is there any other way to update twrp to latest version on galaxy s2 ? Because i installed twrp app , did everything ( flashing img rebooting etc. ) it did not update to latest version. Please can you tell me if you know how to upgrade to latest version . i'll be appreciated . Thanks again for responding .
Have a nice day.
Thank you

I don't think you can use the standard version of TWRP that would be downloaded from the TWRP website or via the TWRP Manager app. It has to a TWRP that has been made to be compatible with iso-rec recovery/kernel.
If you still have the file that you used to install iso-rec TWRP 3.1.0, maybe you can extract that file, remove the 3.1.0 .img and replace it with the latest TWRP.img then rezip the file and try flashing that.

Hi Droidriven
To be honest i've never thought about extracting file , removing the img and replacing with the latest one. That is a good idea actually . Maybe It could work . I'll try that.
Thank you so much for your quick replies. You have been great and helpful. I really appreciate that.
Thanks again
Have a nice day.

I recently rooted my galaxy tab 2 P3110 with Odin and CWM recovery 6011 and i seemed to have wiped the stock android os as i cannot boot into it anymote - the Tablet automically boots into CWM all the time
Then when i try to install Slimrom or CM installer to flash and install a new OS but i getting an error 7 - unverified file so i cannot put any Os back on the device
Can anyone help?
Sounds like you flashed the wrong recovery, possible that you installed the p3100 recovery.
Try reflashing the recovery.

Flashing KK ROMs on outdated recovery will get you a status 7 error. Grab the latest (I'd go with TWRP as CWM support will be ending soon) version from here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548257 update to the latest one you like (CWM is 6.0.5.0) Load up a ROM and give it a go. I put all my ROMs on an external card to be safe. Maybe do that and then just install from such.
p,s. CM installer never works, I dont think our tabs are compatible with it. At least I've never got it to work. But, you dont need it anyways.
I have a p3113 ,as evryone suggested i tried a lot of p3110 lolipop roms.
Recently i tried to flash cm11 unoffcial version of android andi.
It says it cant flash the rom and says error in the zip file and( error 7 ) in recovery.
All this happens only for a kitkat rom but i can flash any other version of android like lolipop or jb.
Pls help me ..currently im on cm9 official build for p3113. I have a cwm recovery, version 6

Hey, I flashed twrp 3.0.0 via odin on my s6 g920f 6.0.1 rooted device (custom kernel) and now I can't boot into recovery, my phone works well, also download mode, just recovery gives me Recovery is not seandroid enforcing and stuck there.
I know this message is normal and not concerning but it's still not booting into recovery, I flashed the wrong version?
Try reflashing stock 6.01 ROM via Odin. ?
latest official TWRP (3.0.2-0) does not support 6.0 bootloader, so that's why you are stuck on boot.
until a new fixed version is released, you can try to use 2 alternatives :
1. @arter97 version , thread here , download page here
2. idlekernel version , download page here

IDK.. my phone works pretty good, it still starts and no problem at all. only recovery isn't booting.
I don't want to format it and flash stock again just because of it.

i heard that you need to flash custom kernel , that stock kernel cannot boot TWRP, because of 6.0.1 bootloader.
. I am on the same case now, looking for solution because i don't want to use custom kernel, just TWRP and root it using Supersu.

Yeah and it worked. Also flashed xposed, when I installed greenify module it caused bootloops so I flashed xposed uninstaller, I guess no xposed for me
Hey .
i had XtreStoLite DeoMod Edition 2.4 maybe before with xposed framework installed
i did flash xposed-uninstall zip then did data and factory reset then flashed XtreStoLite DeoMod Edition 3.3.1 zip and when i reboot my phone stuck in (SAMSUNG Galaxy S6 powered by android) without anything more on the screen and nothing happens
and when i flash 2.4 back and reboot it show in red (recovery is not standard inforcing) and the rom boots with no problems
and after i have flashed bootloader and modem for mm i can't get into recovery mood anymore even after reflashing twrp
how could i fix 3.3.1 and boot to it ? please
Will you please tell us how did you solve it?

first i forgot to install the modem and bootloader then after i installed them i did install lastest twrp (twrp-3.0.2-1-zeroflte) with odin instead of the correct one for that bootloader and modem from the rom post at the end of it (arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar) then i was be able to get into the recovery mod again and install the rom and everything worked expect it was not rooted but rooted it with cf-auto-root
i am using Redmi 4x and used twrp package installer to install twrp and thus installed twrp 3.0.3-0(cofface).Now i am trying to install pixel experience and forgot to have a backup . I wiped all data and system and now when i am flashing the new rom i am getting Error 7 and No MD5 file found. So what should i do ? i tried flashing newer version of twrp and was succesful but i am not rebooting the device as i am fearing to get it in bootloop . Need Help Fast as the phone is my primary device.

Error status 7 occurs when what you are trying to flash is not built for your specific model number or if you're trying to flash a custom ROM via stock recovery or if you're trying to flash a stock update.zip via custom recovery.
It has to be for your specific model number
Are you certain that you successfully flashed TWRP and are you certain that you're booted into TWRP instead of stock recovery?

Yes , i successfully flashed twrp and i also booted into it . But it was a older version 3.3-0 (cofface) and was unofficial and was installed via a twrp installer package . And i rom i was trying to flash was also correct . I also tried it with Lineage OS and it was the same .Then downloaded the Miui stable rom and flashed it and was successful . But before booting it said "No OS installed" , so i tried having a backup and when i did my device got Bricked .
