Need help uninstalling Spotify - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I tried uninstalling Spotify to install a modded spotify apk, however even disabling it won't let me install it.
Apparently Spotify came a preinstalled service in Android 7.0, so would downgrading to Android 6.0 let me uninstall Spotify and then install the modded one, then upgrade back to Android 7.11 without touching the modded one?
Many thanks
-MegaBytesMe

Just wanted to add that I can't root my phone as it's bootloader is not unlockable. If anyone could help me unlock my bootloader, then that would be amazing, anyway.

you can use Adb to uninstall system apps
Here you can find the official tutorial by > xda https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I did that and it did seem to remove it. However, I still can't install the modded one.
Turns out I would need root to remove it from the system.
Many thanks,

the same here with my xz1

[Q] Xposed keeps crashing. Where am I going wrong?

[Solved]
I'm trying to get xposed to work because I want to change the [email protected]@[email protected]!% volume increments! My music is exactly inbetween two increments. I tried to edit the framework.jar in /system/framework and edit ...\framework\android\media\AudioService.smali but no dice.
Eventually I found that there is an xposed module I can use. Sadly, after installing both the latest and experimental versions of the apk, both still crash when I try to open it. What am I doing wrong?! I'm at my end here...nothing I do seems to be working.
OnePlus One
Android 4.4.2 Cyanogenmod v11.0-XNPH25R
Kernel version 3.4.0-cynogenmod-geb9c0a5 [email protected] #1
Root: Yes
SU: Yes
ADB: Yes
Something else I tried: install apk, flash framework, no dice. Please help
edit: I was following this guide http://chrisdube.com/increase-number-of-volume-steps-in-android/
got my zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44013064&nocache=1&z=9180039740167558
and the apk from their site through /latest link
BusyBox free, Snapdragon Batteryguru crash too.
edit: more apps are crashing. Telegram and two more when I reboot.
Mate i don't know what you did wrong but I have xposed installed on my OPO with the same configuration as yours and my phone has never crashed or rebooted.
I would start to check if root is working. What procedure did u follow to gain root access??

I used the guide on XDA here. I'm restoring a TWRP backup and trying to install it again. I've made so many customizations to get everything just how I liked it and forgot about making a backup

[Q] playstation app error 0x82E01003

Hi, I'm new and I don't know if this is the right place to make this question. I have a sony xperia z3 and I can't log in with my psn account into playstation app because I get the error 0x82E01003. I saw on the Internet that the reason could be the unlocked bootloader. I did that and I rooted my phone. Can you please tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks a lot
I had a similar error after rooting mine. The only way i found to make it work was by removing supersu app. I still have root, just can't control permissions.
I don't know if the unlocked bootloader will make a difference or not (mine is still locked).

Thank you for your answer, I uninstalled super supersu, and the error is still there. I think that the reason could be the custom recovery or the unlocked bootloader. I'll wait for lollipop update to try solving this problem.
Unistall supersu by going into settings>reinstall
This is how it works for me but I only have root. If it's still not working then it must be the unlocked bootloaders fault. If you still want it to work then there's a modified remote play app on google that should work on any smartphone.
If i were you Id just restore my drm keys. There's not much to do atm with an unlocked bootloader.

You restore the back up of them you took before unlocking the bootloader.
If you did not take a backup of them then they are lost forever.
Try removing the app and installing this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/ps4-remote-play-t2929147
That's what I did and it works great on my rooted device. Added bonus, this one skips the connection check so you can use it when not on WiFi (though, obviously it needs a fast connection like 4G).

Can you confirm if ds4 still works? I cannot get the ds4 working on my note 2. My z3 will be here tomorrow and I would like to run cm12 on it but only if I can fully use remote play with a ds4.
I've not tried it yet. I'll have a go when I get home and let you know.
Use version 0.6.1 its flawless works great for me

Sorry for the delay, finally tried this and can confirm it works fine on rooted stock rom. Played some GTAV with it and it was gravy.
If you unlock boot loader you will need to use the current version. 0.6.1 is only if you have DRM keys still intact.

The better way is to install xposed framework (just Google it, it really is quite easy) and install the rootcloak module. That way you can manage your root rights with supersu and hide root for the PlayStation app. (you really don't want root without a superuser app, malware really can take advantage of that)

That was the first thing I tried. I have xposed framework and rootcloak installed but remote play wouldn't play ball.
Have you tried it and have you got it to work? Or anybody else for that matter?
I did , and it works. Just don't forget to activate the module and add remote play to the list (might even reboot before adding to the list to be safe)

How to remove supersu

Hey guys,
Just bought my Alcatel idol 3 4.7 (6039Y) and I wanted to change my partition so I can have more space but when I unlocked my bootloader or maybe I did something else that I'm not aware of i installed supersu installer but I don't want to root my phone because I want to be able to do the ota update, I tried everything but I can't remove it. So I have two questions:
Is there a way to remove it?
And is that mean that my phone is rooted and that I can't install the ota update?
Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Update the supersu app from play store and from its settings choose full unroot. Your phone should be OK with the OTA but you will loose the fastboot commands.

Alcatel Onetouch Flint Root

Hey, guys. I found a way to root Alcatel Onetouch Flint by Cricket Wireless. First, you have to enable USB Debugging and Unknown Sources. Then, download the kingroot app from kingroot.net After rooting is complete, reboot your phone. When it boots back up, download SuperSU from google play. It will ask to update binary click normal. It will ask you to remove other superuser apps (kingroot and purify) click ok andit will do it for you. If it says binary update failed just click reboot and superSU works fine ater reboot.
If you want to install Xposed, check out my other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/xposed-alcatel-onetouch-flint-t3440789/page1

No custom recovery yet cuz we can't unlock the bootloader yet
So I found an option to "allow OEM bootloader unlock" in developer options but still no way to actually unlock it yet
I know I'm late to the party, but wanted to say good work and I got one myself after they lowered the price at Target to $50. Purchased an unlock code for $6 and will be using the root method you lined out after I get and use my sim unlock code. Thanks again!!!
Can someone plz try this method to flash twrp and see if it works

It worked for me! Guys just follow his guide and u should be good. Thanks @jsowen321
Getting SuperSu to replace Kingroot was super annoying and frustrating.
SuperSu Me just hangs cause KingUser doesn't like to be replaced and it makes sure you know that by installing itself as a system app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/replace-kingroot-supersu-t3339950
That did for me effortlessly and SuperSu updated the binary after soooo many failed attempts.
"sh switch_armv7.sh"
You'll understand after you read the last step.
SuperSu Me should be ran after switching to remove KingRoot files from phone.
Root, Xposed and TWRP is easily achieved as long as you know how to follow directions.
Thank you @Casey Campanile & @jsowen321

Yea just restart ur phone. If KingRoot is still installed, remove it, and then reinstall KingRoot again. If it's already removed just reinstall it. After rooting with KingRoot, download SuperSU from Google play and update binary using the "normal" method. Then it will ask to remove other superuser apps click OK or yes so it will remove KingRoot for u
Thank you for taking the time to deal with my issues. I did as u instructed, uninstalled and reinstalled then installed SuperSU. Unfortunately it says install failed,. Now what I'm afraid of messing things up thank u

Seems like this thread is alive, and the phone is still available in retail stores in the US.
You can root this phone without having to go through the kingroot app. See this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/alcatel-users-t3488125
Hope this helps anyone who recently purchased this phone!
So what can I do with this now that I've rooted it? Is there some new rom I can install to run the latest Android? This is my first Alcatel...I've been a Samsung Galaxy S person for a bit. Looking for some fun with the Alcaltel.
Is there a way to bypass cricket hotspot lock. My phone is rooted and I installed Xposed but I can't find a way to bypass wifi tethering lock.

I did this to both of my flints. Rooted by kingo. Installed build.prop. Changed fm transmit from false to true. Net used ex file explorer. Show hidden files. Delete power roll back app. I’m on $100 for 5 lines plan. I use over 300 GB per line. Hope that helps.

I've been running a hotspot on my flint for over a year…
1. root (i used kingo)
2. install "DisableService"
3. disable system service "com.tctApp.serviceEntitlement
4. reboot and setup hotspot
5. I uninstalled kingo and rebooted and the "disable" stuck and still works.

MTCD HA V2.44_1 root method?

Just got this unit from Amazon and updated it to the firmware they provided. They say it can't be rooted. I'm sure that's not true. I have enabled ADB on it, but don't quite know where to go from there. I have rooted numerous phones before, but can't find any proper info for this unit.
Do I have to install a ROM that's already rooted or is there a way just to install root on what I currently have? Do I have to install TWRP on it just like on a phone?
Any help/info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Afaik there is no TWRP recovery for a android car head unit.

I rooted my PX5 Hot Audio unit by installing "Kingoroot" (not kingroot) with wifi turned off first, and then run the app with wifi turned On. Kingoroot needs access to internet, after that install ''Supersu'', and then remove ''Kingoroot''. Good luck :good:
Malaysk rom is preroored for px5 units
Enviado desde mi D6603 mediante Tapatalk
I did the Kingoroot and it seems like it worked on the 2nd try, but the Superuser app it installed just closes after 5 seconds. SuperSU says binary occupied. Do I just uninstall the kingo Superuser app?
Also for the malaysk Rom isn't it 5.1.1?
EDIT: Device is rooted and the Superuser app shows a popup for SU request (the app itself doesn't work right still), but some apps like Tasker don't recognize root sadly.

Yes, you have to remove both ''Kingoroot'' and ''Superuser'' apps after installing ''Supersu'' then you can update the binary.
