Face unlock won't work because its xiaomi's own implementation

Sorry for the naïve question, but is it likely that Xiaomi's face unlock feature can be incorporated within custom ROMs? Presumably they'd have to really honour their commitment to be developer friendly in order to release this, but is it anticipated?

Well... No matter our device is so called "developer friendly". But main thing is "if" AOSP's upstream supports it. For example fingerprint works on custom roms because its api is already available for us,no need to do extra fuss to rewrite the code. But about that face recognition IR sensor

Sorry bro i rolled back to miui. But about notification as far i remember
Its same time was showing at left and sim/battery was on right. Don't know about notification, yea but we got heads up display feature, which is far better than miui's implementation of heads up display

When I try to flash the image on my phone, it only takes a few seconds for it to work (which I find quite suspicious since it's quite heavy) and then when I want to reboot it bootloop once and then go to fastboot mode. Do you have any idea what am I doing wrong? I've tried redownloading the image, extracting it again, flashing it a few times nothing seems to work.

On the main thread someone said that the last update (which doesn't boot on our device) fixed the notch compatibility. So how is it on the previous build? Can we see them properly? Are they cropped?

As in title: Camera2api tested on xiaomi.eu modded miui 8 nougat rom is almost working.
Adding in buildprop : 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' Camera2 api support is present but image in main camera is flipped. Do you know any solution or fix about it?

I think this can be solved kernel-side by changing the "qcom,mount-angle" property in this file https://github.com/Demon000/kernel_...boot/dts/libra/msm8992-camera-sensor-mtp.dtsi, but it's not the proper solution. How do you know that Camera 2 API is actually working?
Try installing the latest Google Camera to see how it behaves.
After adding that string camera2 api is enabled and working. I can see it from API test and from camera apps supporting camera2 API. Raw and manual settings are working. Just one issue: images are 180° flipped.
Ps: I tried it on nougat roms from xiaomi.eu.
Would be amazing if AICP can support camera2 (without the flipped image bug).

AICP is currently based on nougat so... why not? Just try editind buildprop file adding the line I quoted in my first message. If it won't work, just remove that line you added.

It will only work after today's nightly, since we were not using nougat blobs before, but camera will still be flipped. We've already decided to fix it.

Are you implying AICP will be using the new blobs from the next build onwards? Or just that the camera API2 will be fixed?

WIll fix be source related or configuration related? I liked AICP but for now I am on MIUI and I will like to add camera2api support on MIUI too.

AICP will use nougat blobs on the next build. Please take into account that new blobs doesn't mean new bootloader. Bootloader will still be the old one. After the next build it will be possible to enable Camera2 API and work on a fix.

Gotcha, best of both worlds then? I've already unlocked my bootloader again and updated blobs (So I could use the new Remix rom), is this going to cause any issues do you think? Thanks for all the work you're putting into this device btw, so much better because of developers such as yourself.

Hi. Camera2api can be enabled on RR-N-v5.8.2-20170309 too. Again - the same flipp issue. Also I'm having problems with camera app performance.
Interesting that the Manual Camera Compatibility test doesn't show Camera2 API compatibility on RR5.8.2.. so which is which?

I have written previously - flipped image and performance issues currently. But this is first RR ROM which allows to enable camera 2 api. I hope that problems will be fixed soon.

Ah i see, i missed the build.prop part. and it works now, only flipped. Hopefully it will be fixed soon

One addition: Using manual camera the RAW pictures are only 90 flipped

There is a new sound panel...The notch display bug is fixed...camera seems better, plus has portrait mode in front facing...that's all I've noticed so far

Woah. I'm shocked how amazing and beautiful new Beta is. Sooo many new features. A lot of new Pixel features are here too! And camera quality has improved soooo much. Pictures look sharp and have better dynamic range. I'm very satisified with this update. I used Beta 2 for like a month as a daily driver and I liked it a lot, but Beta 3.. all my dreams came true. Check screenshots in attached files.

Well, I don't plan to root...I don't see any new nav gesture...but it does have the new recents panel
Anyway to fix Bluetooth music play?
I have wipe all and install dp3 in twrp, after this i flash twrp.zip and magisk 16.4 but dont boot up. Boot only in recovery. Why not boot? How can i return now?

If you flash magisk after flash a rom (here DP3) it's normal, you must flash rom, twrp, boot to system, and after flash magisk via TWRP

If you have it installed can you confirm if data sim switching, dual 4G, ViLTE, camera, and Screen Cast are working?
I know I should install it myself and test it, but these are common bugs in all pie ROMs, so can you please confirm if above bugs are present or not?
I have one doubt..Before restoring the A2 system file we need to wipe the installed ROM's system or directly restore the a2's system file..??

I use single airtel sim. Data is working super fine and so is camera. Can't comment about other things.

You have to wipe the first time around. After you flash pixel experience and reboot to recovery, don't wipe system, just restore Mi A2 system.

Goodix fingerprint?
There is a rom thread for Asus Zenfone Max Pro port. People have posted Goodix fixes there. Try that.
For most people fingerprint should work without issues.

I tried Goodix FingerPrint fix it didn't work.
This is the fastest Pie Rom I've Used and I've tested about 6 different Pie Roms.
I am thinking of flashing latest Non-ARB firmware to see if Fingerprint will work.
Everything looks great and I haven't noticed Screen burn issues

Try rebooting once.
Also install snap cam or gcam and see if it works there!
Can not scan your finger. Please fix it.

volte is gone after two reboots .. was working fine before updating all apps
This rom is amazing,it's my new daily driver.
Only some bugs while recording audio message on WhatsApp and the dark theme does not apply,but for the rest it is beautiful.
Anyone who installed it can you please test a video call in one of these apps whatsapp, skype, facebook or imo and let us know if the camera quality is fixed in it? because in all custom roms and miui rom camera quality during video call is horrible using these apps

Auto-rotate will be lost if you wipe the persist partition.
You will need to install official Chinese stable firmware MIUI (zip for recovery through twrp).
Details (instruction from 4pda):
What you need to do if autorotate isn't working:
1) flash twrp in fastboot, reboot in twrp
2) TWRP:
wipe data/cache/system
flash Chinese stable MIUI zip. reboot в system
wait when MIUI loaded, reboot in twrp (maybe you will need to repeat step 1)
3) Wipe data/cache/system
3) Flash Mokee + gapps pico. Reboot in system
4) Profit

there is a recent thread about this project being halted but one kind member (bamz1117)posted a new version(20/2/2019) there.
Hi there! my friend CodeElixir choose to closed the thread due to personal reasons..OOS is back already but not here in xda..i already posted the update of feb.20 build somewhere in the group thread
but to those who want to join the OOS telegram group you can search it ,CodeElixir just recently made the TG group today..so do it on your own

i would loved to ..but xda may get ban me for hotlinking...if your on telegram you can find it.. Good luck
Also , all updates are there for OOS rom especially face unlock issues and other stuff ..

✓ Fixed issues with trusted face during initial boot. No reboots is necessary.
✓ Fixed slow boot issues.
✓ Fixed OP Ambient Display. Fully functional now.
✓ Fixed touches being recognised during phone calls when screen is off.
✓ Fixed headset detection issues.
✓ Kernel upstream from los source.
✓ Fixed portrait issue for ANX Cam.

Have you installed OOS?
If yes, can you confirm if the notch feature works smooth? because, I faced issues with the notch

Can you please drop a screenshot with notch hidden?
And by the way what are steps you followed to install OOS?
Formatting
1. Dalvik
2.) Cache
3.) System
4.) Data
or
1. Dalvik
2.) Cache
3.) System
4.) Internal Storage?
I need installation steps?
And the dialer gets stuck when dialing the code *#06#, the reset option does not work, you need to use format data option in TWRP recovery ----> some issues found bu I can anytime ignore it, not complaining though.
Please guide with the installation steps

The dailer freezes while checking imei using *#06#, clearing dialer data fixes though.
No need to clear internal data. First procedure is fine.
