[5.0+]Sloth - Profile Scheduler - Manage your phone - Android Apps and Games

Hello,
It's high time to publish my first beta release publicly of my app.
This app is currently designed for devices running Android Marshmallow and newer, backwards compatibility to Lollipop is going to be added in the next update. There is no Intro yet - work in progress.
REMEMBER YOU'RE USING THIS APP ON YOUR OWN RISK!
FUNCTIONS, ABOUT APP
The point is this app is to allow user to control when the hardware functions such as WiFi, Bluetooth etc are going to be turned off/on. In the current release there are 7 avaible functions:
5 for all devices, 2 for rooted devices.
In actions that contain "on/off" you have to specific exact action by clicking on the spinner to choose whether action is going to make a function on or off. If you don't do that, the default one will be choosen.
- Turn WiFi on/off: this sets up an alarm to turn WiFi on or off
- Turn off/on Bluetooth
- Turn off/on account sync
- Change screen brightness: 3 options avaible: dark screen, bright screen and custom value with preview avaible. You can modify dark and bright values in the settings (swipe from the edge right in the main layout of the app).
- Set loud/silent/ do not disturb mode: sets a specified volume mode
Root actions:
- Turn off device
- Reboot device
You will be asked for root permission, unless you give the permission action will not be either saved and performed.
PERMISSIONS:
In the first launch you will be asked to disable battery optimisation for this app, if you don't disable it may not work properly.
In the brightness section, you will be asked for allowing app to modify system settings - it's required to change brightness by the app.
Another permission you will be asked is to allow app to modify notifications - it's required if you would like to change phone volume mode (exactly do not disturb).
To delete planned actions:
There are currently 4 methods to delete planned actions, but the only one is to cancel the action:
- In upcoming events section, click on trash and then select items to delete and then hit trash one more time to delete
- Swipe left on item to delete
- Hit on the trash button, then click delete all
Those methods DO NOT cancel pending action
To cancel pending action:
- Click on an item you want to cancel, the editor will pop up
- Hit on the trash button, then the action will be canceled and item deleted.
Changelog:
Version 1.1:
- Optimised navigation drawer

If I put a future date in a profile, will it be repeated daily until that date? If not, how can I create a profile and repeat it daily? Thank you

I had a some issues in implementing repeat feature (likey in specific day) so current alarms are fired one time only.
So, currently there is no way to repeat alarms automaticly, only by creating a new one.
Anyway, I've added this to my todo list. I hope you will be able to use this feature by the next update

Hi, thanks for your work and the new features. Can you add that days of the week you want a created profile to be activated / deactivated ?. Thank you very much.

@jordipz working on that! Should be updated soon!

Thank you very much for the update.
I can see in my service app that airplane mode on/off exist.
Can you active this option?

Yes I was about to do, but I focused on making repeating alarms at first.
Now I'm taking up for modifying UI and adding non-root required services (e.g turning airplane mode, mobile data etc needs root access).

[APP][2.1+] Migrate Location App[11-7-2011]

Hey guys,
I just made a location and time based profile management app called Migrate (publisher Illuvation LLC). This is my first android app and it's free. It's supposed to be an easy to use app. Right now it toggles wifi, bluetooth and ringer. You can also add notes that pop up in the notification bar when you first arrive at a location or a time profile is activated.
I'm already working on new features but i want to make sure that the core of it(the location and time profile switching is solid on different devices). Post any bugs or features that you'd like to see to make this app different from the others. The UI is still a work in progress and I think I'm going to improve the notification layout.
Thanks guys! Just grab it on the market by putting Migrate in quotes or searching by publisher (Illuvation).
Version 1.0.0.322
-New UI
-Google maps for better accuracy when entering address
Version 1.0.0.291
-Time profiles can now be set using days of the week instead of occurring everyday
-Option to disable "default profile" added to "settings"
-Length of time Wi-Fi is used for location polling has been decreased (worst case run time is 10 seconds per poll)
9-7-2011 Version 1.0.0.274
-Fixed bug where text to speech occurred during phone calls
-Migrate will no longer override any changes made to settings outside the app. Migrate will change settings on next profile change
-Improved location polling for better battery life
9-1-2011 - Version 1.0.0.258
-Text-to-Speech now added for all incoming text messages (previously only for reminders).
8-31-2011 - Version 1.0.0.253
-Added text to speech option in settings for reminders
-Notifications now coincide with phone notification settings
-Fixed light notification bug for time profiles
-Improved battery life due to enhanced location polling algorithm
-Faster performance
8-26-2011 - Version 1.0.0.224
-Added automatic reply to text messages
-Enhanced notification bar
-Fixed automatic dismissal of notes on location profiles
-UI changes
No GPS
Forgot to mention. This does not use GPS!!! It's really good on battery life.
very interested mate, going test it. but it shown GPS in screen shot?
I guess i should update the screenshots. That was a mistake. I changed that button to say "Location." Thanks for pointing that out.
New version on the market. Feedback appreciated. Thanks
Any features anyone would like to see?
New version
New version in the market now!!
Text to Speech improved
Added text to speech for all text messages. It'll tell you the sender by checking your contacts and read the message out loud.
Updated the app. Text to Speech no longer occurs during phone calls. The app will no longer override changes made outside the app until another profile is activated.
If you "exit profile manager" through the menu button, does that turn Migrate off? Should there always be an icon in the notification area when it is working?

Exit Profile Manager completely closes Migrate. Yes, when Migrate is running there will always be an icon in the Notification area.

Thanks. Would it be possible to make it an option whether or not to display the notification?

I can make that an option. I'll incorporate that in one of next few updates.
I've found an issue. I have a profile set up to turn on Wi-Fi in a specific location (my apartment). When I left for work this morning it turned off Wi-Fi - good. But throughout the day Wi-Fi will turn on for a short amount of time regularly - I assume when Migrate scans for location. So far, in about 4 hours it's been on for 31 mins - and I haven't left my desk (work is far from home). Could you fix this bug? Thanks!

Working on a fix. It'll put it on the market by the end of the weekend. There's an option in "Settings" to not use the wifi when checking for location in the meantime.

Jesus... This is pretty darn handy for school.
Testing it now!
very handy...wish this had been around sooner as I bought Tasker and configured a bunch of profiles to serve the same purpose as what this app seems to do much more simply. Looks great
Not bad
How about Touchdown support? That would make this incredibly handy for Exchange users!

Touchdown actually does not sync anything to the device.
since this app read local synced events it can't read Touchdown settings or data (events for that matter).
If you wish to use Exchange calendar you can always sync your exchange account to the device using ActiveSync like this
settings -> accounts and sync -> add account -> Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
once you synced you device this app will be able to read Exchange calendar.
anyway thanks for the advice and ill try to add support for remote Exchange
update:
i added an "add new calendar account " button in settings for those who don't have their account configured
I bought the full version but just can't get it to work.
I went to "Events list" and pressed menu > Update from calendar, and I can see all my events in the list. But it just says "will schedule - event".
Then I go to the "Filters list" and see "all. schedule", yet my phone does not go silent when my events start.
The on/off button is very confusing. When the button is red and says "off", does it mean that it is off, or that I should press it if I wish to turn it off?
Thanks!

Hi.
the on/off button indicate the current state, meaning when the button is green and it's say "on" that mean that auto schedule is enabled
"all schedule" is the default filter that indicate that all events will be scheduled.
please pay attention that even event will be scheduled automatically only if the on/off button is in "on" state.
Pay attention that Calendar Silencer will not schedule events that already in progress, for example if you have event that start in 12:00 and you started the auto schedule in 12:05 the event will not be schedule.
if you enabled notifications please notice that the notification will disappear once the event has started, pressing the notification will clear the notification but also will cancel the alarm
let me know if have any more problems
Still nothing.

It was MIUIs fault, thanks for the support Swarly!

I've been using a different app that seems to have this same feature set, and has been around longer.
How is this better than other competing apps that perform the same functions?

I cant compare these competing apps you are talking about because i don't know exactly what apps are you talking about .
I can answer you this:
before i wrote this app i looked in the market for something that will fulfill these requirements:
easy to use
work with synced calendars like exchange or Gmail calendar
will have to option to fire and forget
i downloaded several apps including paid ones and I couldn't find what i was looking for.
the ones that was simple couldn't work with synced calendars.
and those who could work with synced calendars were overkill ( profile apps that could do almost anything ) were to complicated to operate and demanded a lot of configurations and frustration.
So I decided to do my best to fulfill the goals i wrote to myself and try to keep it as simple as possible .
Because I cant look at every tool/app that exist in the market there may be an app out there that does serve the same functionality , but odds are that it either not do exactly the same or is a lot more complicated then this one.

Swarly
error during level 2
i've been using tasker but recently i starder cleaning my app list and noticed that i was using a mighty appp like tasker for just silencing the phoe when i was "busy" in my calendar.
i found your app which probably does what i want but i got intro trouble with it. i get an error when i try to turn it on (error during level 2) and the app crashes when i want to switch to the events tab (second tab).
also i haven't been able to test the filter option: i just want my phone to go silent when o am "busy" in the calendar - that's it. does the filter option allow for such a setup?
I've been looking for something like this since I first got an android phone THanks!

hi
Unfortunately busy mode is not yet supported in this app but its a good idea i will add asap.
please check the program version I'm updating and fixing bug almost on daily basis.
the current program version is 1.2.24
additionally if you can please report the problem using the report error button so i can have an idea about where to start looking for problems
about the error please let me know what kind of device you have
finally I started my semester and once the courses started i found some bugs and problems with my app
* fixed bug for overlapping event
* fixed bug with contact exception functionality
* minor bugs regarding event scheduling were fixed
I'll publish another big update soon that will be focused on performance.
as promised I released big update
major Performance update - from now list load faster and scroll much smother
overlaping event detection method was changed from the core from now no more false detection that caused problems
added warings to warn users that don't have calendars installed
as always I"m open to new suggestions and improvement ideas

My wife, changed her old Nokia for a Galaxy wonder and missed her "meeting" profile. So I wrote her this small app. I hope you'll find this app useful. It's been tested on my Galaxy Note 4. Any suggestions and remarks are most welcome.
Main Features:
When in silent or vibration mode, if the phone rings a single beep is played (like the "meeting" profile in the old Nokia phone)
Replace the default beep with a ringtone from the phone's ringtone list.
Control the ringtone volume.
Display different notification icons when in normal or silent modes.
Automatically set silent mode according to the calendar, with possibility to ignore all day/private/free/tentative events and selecting calendars.
Automatically set silent mode when facing up/down.
Automatically restore ringer after a timeout.
Play ringtone for selected notifications (both customizable).
Play a sound effect when the device is automatically set to silent mode (downloaded from freesfx).
Mute device a few minutes (configurable) before an event.
Flash the flash led for incoming call and notifications.
A widget to turn on/off the service and switch between normal and silent modes, including:
Simple toggle widget.
Analog clock widget that shows the next calendar events.
Timer widget that sets silent mode to a predetermined period of time.
Future features I may (or may not include):
Filter calendar events according to keyword.
Filter events according to contacts (Thanks Magissia).
Allow selecting different ringtones for notifications according to contact (thanks Variable.Unknown)
Profile buttons on the notification for easy profile change (not sure if this could be done for android < 3).
Known Issues:
None at the moment...

Going to have to try this out. Found a few other apps on the market that kinda do this put pack in to many other features I don't want or need.
Hey zevele, thanks for making this app. I installed it yesterday before my shift at work - it read from my work-specific calendar and set vibrate mode on/off and the start/end of my shift, worked like a charm! I couldn't ask for a simpler profile switching system.
BTW I'm using it on my HTC One with ViperOne 3.0. Thanks again!
Good idea, i miss this from my Nokia too, i had a software that was used to put the phone in silent when given keyword was found on the calendar, meaning it would never ring when in a meeting if you're not in a said contacts group.
Thanks for your work, will definitively look how your app goes.

Thanks Magissia,
"white listing" contacts is a nice idea - I might put it in...
I also got a few crash reports which I fixed and now I want to check it a little bit - I'll probably release the new version next week.

Fixed few crashes when playing ringtone.
Thanks,
Z.

Smart Ringers?
Nice application! Not really something I personally would get use from, but I can see the usefulness.
Here's an idea I've had, and I'd love to make it into an application, but I've never started learning code and I lack the patience. The idea is individual Notification ringtones, so you can set it so different contacts trigger a different ringtone.
Android can already do it with calls, but not with notifications. It seems simple enough to me, detect the contact whom the message came from and play the appropriate sound to go with it, if one has been set.
I'm not sure if that's what you meant by "Filter calls according to contact." If what I described is what you meant, awesome idea! If that's not what you meant by it, include it if you want and I'll be happy to feel like I contributed. I think it would be a great addition to a great application.

Thanks, the idea behind white listing contacts is to filter the calendar meetings also according the participants - not exactly what you suggested. I also like your idea of filtering notifications according to contacts.

New version v0.6
Finally found the nasty widget bug (may be also a solution the the MediaPlayer bug).
Note: this version will reset Ringer's settings to default.
Changelog:
Fixed bug where in some devices the widget configuration appeared before properly placing the widget - causing ringer to crash when pressing the "Okay" button. Due to this bug it was almost impossible to add a widget on these devices.
Attempt to fix an issue where Ringer crashed while playing the ring-tone (this is an attempt because the problem is relatively rare and I'm unable to reproduce it on my device...).
Fixed issue where on some devices the notification icons appeared too big.
Instead of waking up the device every time to check the gravity sensor ("Poll gravity sensor when screen is off"), now keep the device awake all the time using a partial wake lock ("Keep device awake") - I've read somewhere that this might be more battery friendly.
Updated SDK to v4.4.2.
Added infrastructure for automatic version update.
Some more minor bug fixes and code improvements.
Thanks,
Z.
Version 0.61
New version v0.61
Mainly bug fixes (keep sending those crash reports...)
changelog:
In the widget configuration dialog, the timer-picker is now enabled only when "Timed silent widget" is selected.
Changed timestamp in the message log to present real date/time string.
Fixed wrong gravity sensor polling timeout - causing ringer to never change ringer mode when facing up/down.
Fixed crash when ringtone was not found - it will now use a default one in this case, and present an error message.
Fixed crash when restoring alarm and no next event is found.
Thanks,
Z.
Notification icon
Is there any way to get rid of the active notification icon in the status bar? That real estate is precious and I would rather not have the icon there?
Solved: I went into Settings/Applications/Ringer and toggled off the Notifications.
I use ringer mostly for the Auto-Ringer option.
Any chance that you could add a android wear support so the wear is put to silent when auto-ringer mutes the phone by calendar or facing down on the table?

Detailed overview
Lockout mode
Each lockout has a lockout mode associated with it. The blocked apps mode allows you to choose a list of apps you want blocked during the lockout. The allowed apps mode allows you to choose a list of apps you want to allow during the lockout. The most strict is the lockscreen-only mode, which only allows use of the lockscreen. You can still answer calls or call emergency numbers in lockscreen-only mode.
Usage based lockouts
Configure rules that will trigger an automatic lockout based on your device usage. With usage based lockouts enabled, total screen time, usage of apps, and number of unlocks will be monitored. You can set up usage rules that trigger a lockout based on total screen time, time spent in specific apps, number of times specific apps are opened, or number of device unlocks. Usage rules can be scheduled to only be enforced at certain times.
Scheduled lockouts
Set up lockouts that repeat regularly on a schedule. You can choose the start and end time, the days of the week, the lockout mode, and additional options for each scheduled lockout.
One-time lockout
Quickly start a one-time lockout for today. You can set a custom duration, lock until a certain clock time, or schedule a lockout for later on.
Lockout options
Each lockout has its own configurable options. They can be configure to turn on Do Not Disturb (DND), silence the ringer, or only begin the lockout at chosen physical locations. DND is important to helps us eliminate frequent interruptions, which is vital for our focus, productivity, and mental health. Having lockouts limited to specific physical locations can improve focus while at school, the gym, or anywhere else apps can be a distraction.
Additional settings
Configure additional options on the settings screen. You can choose a list of apps to exclude from total screen time, prevent changes to lockouts, show an emergency allowance button, show a paid exit button to end a lockout early, set up a password to enter the app, and much more.
More information
Premium version
The premium version allows an unlimited number of lockouts, limited to 3 in the free version. Please consider upgrading to premium to support future development!

Thanks!
Another good app.
I no people to suggest this to right now lol.
There was a small update last night (see second post), and price has been lowered for premium version.
Anyone using this from XDA?
Sent from my Nexus 5
Yes
On Nexus4 it is not possible to use camera, only emergency calls. Also you can see status bar but it is not possible to do anything with it like scroll down etc. e.g. for checking status of notifications like email (maybe intended).
Same with camera, it is possible to swipe to it but picture is black with keypad above it.
For less then 1$ nice app, for more than 1$....who knows...

What you can do from the lockscreen isn't set by the app. That's up to the ROM/lock screen you are using and the widgets available on it while locked.
Problem was non-default camera application. I have more apps so every time camera is started it asks which one should be used.
When phone is locked it is impossible to use camera due this behavior.
Choosing default camera app (use always, not once) fixes it
Would it be useful to add a password option, in addition to PIN?
Sent from my Nexus 5
Good app, very useful
I will be updating this to a Lollipop theme, for Android 5.0. Do you guys have any suggestions in terms of functionality/features?
This has been updated!
1.1.0
-Lolliop theme for Lollipop!
-Reduced cancel timeout to 3s
-Improvements in clarity
-Improved purchase caching
I reduced the price of the premium upgrade to $0.99 if anyone was on the fence.
New update today!
LMO 1.2.0:
-Made it impossible to lock yourself out forever, even if app is force closed.
-Fixed slide-unlock not being set with empty PIN.
-Added warning against memory cleaners.
-Added confirm PIN dialog.
-Stopped setting chosen password on every boot.
-Added Lollipop styling for pre-Lollipop Android versions!
-Re-set unlock alarm after app update in case locked out during update.
-Added contact menu option.
-Updated action bar unlock icon for Lollipop.
Nice app man.....needed something like this since first day I got on XDA
What is the default pin
I accidentally locked myself out without setting my pin - please what is the default pin

If you didn't set a PIN, after the lock out it should just become a slide-unlock.

IMPORTANT - If you updated to 1.2.0, please install the update to 1.2.1. There was a critical bug where on pre-Lollipop devices the device would never reset the PIN to what you chose. If you are locked out on v1.2.0 please use unlock PIN 192458799. This PIN has been changed in v1.2.1.
I have posted an updated version of the app, and am attaching it here if you don't want to wait for it to come through Google Play. I am so sorry about this! Android Studio didn't report that a method I used was only available on API 22.
I just published a long overdue (albeit small) update. It should be available in about an hour on the store, or download it here (attached).
1.2.2
-Dynamically set the minimum password length (will help with some devices that would not actually set blank PINs and remain locked).
-Fixed a rare issue with the recognition of purchases and the purchase system.
-Updated to newest libraries and built with Marshmallow SDK.

[APP]Notification Slider

Hi!
Back when I first bought my OnePlus 2 I was very excited about the possibilities with the notification slider. However due to the lack of customization options from OnePlus it made me not use it as much as I wanted to. The apps VibrateMode and Alert Slider, as well as Seraph08's unofficial CM13 build, which offers slider customization, changed my attitude towards using it. I decided I wanted to make something similar that's up to date with Marshmallow and supported for Oxygen OS (primarily), and the result is my new app Notification Slider. The app allows you to select a sound profile for each of the slider positions.
Click here to head over to the app's Google Play Store page
Update: I removed the option to change SELinux to permissive from my app in the latest update, because that was Google's explicit reason as to why I violated their policy.

Translations
I want to reach out to as many people as possible, that includes non-English speakers. Feel free to PM me if you can translate the app in a certain language.
Notices in regards to support for Oxygen 3.5.X+:
Seveilith - Play Store Description said:
OnePlus ruined the slider behavior in 3.5.X by locking the volume to the minimum level of 1 in all of the profiles, except for the top position, and by (most importantly) not letting apps such as this change the notification interruption filter. In the current state it is impossible to "fix" this using a non-Xposed solution, and even with Xposed, the previous method used to fix the top position is not working either. When OnePlus releases the source code of the latest changes it *might* be easier to tell if there is a way to implement an Xposed based solution to, once again, make the app compatible with Oxygen. IMPORTANT: If you are feeling upset, or simply want to complain about these changes, complain to OnePlus instead of directing your dissatisfaction towards me. Being ignorant does not magically make the app compatible.
Since the app offers a non-Xposed way of customizing the slider behavior, the approaches are obviously more limited. Alternatively, you could just flash another ROM (e.g. CM, MIUI) which doesn't have these restrictions and where the app works perfectly in all positions...

- The app works with all OnePlus devices that's featuring a notification slider.
- CM/AOSP based ROMs requires SELinux set to permissive!
- If the app stops working after updating CM (nightlies), try reinstalling the app.
- Xposed is not required for the slider customization itself, only for miscellaneous features.
Special thanks to
@khanhbabykid - for creating VibrateMode and Alert Slider
@Seraph08 - for being awesome
Notice
If you want more advanced customization options, check out @Weathon 's alert slider app.
Requires root and the Xposed framework.

That's strange since I added all the OnePlus 3 models as compatible devices and it works for me. Could you please go into Settings --> About phone and send me your model number? Btw, thank you for notifying me so quickly

Same error on resurrection remix, was hoping it would still work even though its not OOS
My model shows up as "ONEPLUS A3000"
works on latest OOS 3.2.2 but I don't have root privileges so I don't think it will work correctly

Yeah, in that case it unfortunately won't work. The app uses the root access to force the different Do Not Disturb modes, which isn't doable without root.

Ok, now I can go in, I changed the slider options to my liking, but how can I apply the changes? I don't see the option/button.

Here the same.
working perfectly as intended.
I just want vibrate for middle position, and its working fine.
.
Edit : working but partially. it goes up by oos, comes down as per app
1. normal
2. priority
3. silent
then
3. silent
2. Vibrate
3. normal
.
will wait for update.
Awesome to see someone who is taking up this app back again !
Installed and seems to work but not in a proper way:
- top position both in alarm only or total silence, do only vibrate
- middle position set as vibrate... doesn't vibrate but it rings normally
- when I back to bottom position, volumes for alarm and ring goes to max
Thanks and keep going !!

Thanks for the feedback. I just updated to 3.2.2 from 3.1.3 and it indeed doesn't work properly anymore. My receiver no longer responds when entering the middle or bottom state, but don't worry - I'm on it
Looking forward to a working version of this for OOS 3.2.2
