For some reason, the VPN Service of the XZP stopped working after the last update. Only one service works.
Each time the VPN I install requests a "Connection Request" where I just have to press "OK", the "OK" doesn't respond. Only Cancel works.
Anyone with the same complaint?
tnx.
Mine is working fine
Hey, this thnig worked for me:
Some devices have a checkbox that says, "I trust this application." You must check the checkbox first before clicking OK.
If you cannot click OK or check the "I trust this application" checkbox, there might be another app on top of the dialog. Some known apps that can cause this are Lux Brightness, Night Mode, and Twilight.
To avoid this problem, close all apps that may be running in the background.

Hi All,
I've rooted my phone and installed the JF1.43 modified firmware, and also replaced the stock bootloader with hardSPL. Everything worked exactly like the instructions, and I'm very happy and grateful with the results. I notice two issues:
1. Applications that are used recently, but not the last application used, sometimes crash when I bring the phone out of sleep. I get a notification that this or that application has crashed, with the option to Close or Wait. It doesn't happen every time, or in any reproducible way, as near as I can tell.
2. The "T-mobile Hotspot" application appears to be broken. It does not connect when I'm in range of a t-mob hotspot, and the nearby hotspot location search feature is broken; it dumps me out to a search in the browser.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? They're not dealbreakers at all, but I'd like to get to the bottom of them. Is there a log file that will tell me what's happening when the applications crash?
Thanks for the help, and the great work you're doing here.
I haven't experienced #1 and #2 has never worked for me at a TMO hotspot.
I have experienced the forced close of apps, but not too often.
I'm running RC33 and 1.42 (couldn't install 1.43 for some reason, something about not able to validate files).
And if any consolation, T-Mobile Hotspot app never worked for me, even before the hacking.
Sounds like you need to perform a wipe. Should fix everything.
Well, except the hotspot app, that never worked.
Its always a good idea to wipe when you change builds.
Hello everyone,
Just got a new LG Optimus One.
I'm having trouble connecting to Android Market, I get the following error message.
"A network error has occurred. retry or cancel and return to the previous screen" and some other times it comes up with another error message ""No connection" (text) "Retry" (button)"
I can connect to the internet via the phones built-in web browser so it's not a network issue and the android market works when I'm connected to a WiFi access point.
What do you think I could do to fix this problem.
Kind Regards,
dmk0
Try to update the market

I can't test it, as I only have 3G and WiFi. I read it somewhere that's why I posted. And as he said Market works on WiFi. It is obvious right?
Edit: I was right, Market does not work on GPRS. 2G is too slow for Market

Market version 2.3.x (old market) works on 2G/EDGE. New Market (3.0) does not work on 2G/EDGE.
Not sure if I should put this in a new thread or continue it here because my problem got worse.
I decided to do a factory reset of the phone and it ended up making things worse.
Now the inbuilt web browser works but none of the applications worked with the internet connection. I tried android market, gmail and youtube apps and none of them worked. Where as gmail email app worked before.
When I try to enter Username and Password for the gmail account (I wait for a few minutes with the waiting message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google's servers..." Once that's finished thinking I get the following error message "Can't Establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.".
I'm in 3G mode all the time (with three and sometimes four bars). Sometimes in a mode called "E" which I suppose is Edge and I've been trying all night and haven't had any luck.
I might bite the bullet and call customer care to try and help me but with my previous experience I don't expect they can offer me much help other than returning my phone and asking for a new one. My professional experience with phones tells me there shouldn't be a fault but I cannot put myself to fault. There must be something fishy going on with this phone.
EDIT: (Additional Info) When I try to connect to the Weather I also get the error message "Weather service is temporarily unavailable." Just after I tried the web browser and google loads up fine.
Market 3.4.4 work 2g/edge but when 2g speed is very slow it gives same error i also have this problem but this is not the problem of market it is the problem of speed because sometime 2g speed is very slow i from india in which 2g speed very slow so sometime market give the error.
problem solved!
i had this same problem on my coby kyros tablet. it doesn't have any connection other than wifi, and i could browse the web, but not connect to the market.
after trying a few different things i noticed the time was way off, and went to fix it, then realized that some how the date had been changed to jan, 27th, 2011. i changed the date, time, and time zone, and the market started working perfectly.
DOUBLE CHECK YOU TIME, DATE, AND TIME ZONE!
get your old market back!!!

i had also this problem.....
just try again in MORNING (6:00 AM) ....
really it will work...as congestion is minimum in morning ...
I got the phone from Virgin Mobile with there settings preconfigured. It's VM branded too.
I re-entered APN and mysteriously it worked, sad thing is the APN I entered was exactly the same except I changed two of the characters from lowercase to uppercase.

Hi,
When I want to launch a VPN connection with "OpenVPN Connect" or another application, I get a "Connection Request" message that appears with Cancel and Ok.
The problem is that the OK button does not work, only the Cancel button works.
So I have to cancel and I can't start my VPN connection.
Do you have a solution to this problem?
Thanks
Do you have any apps with this permission " Display over other apps " or draw on other apps , its same .it can be apps like navigation gestures , ... uncheck this permission and try again .
I will check but then why only the OK button does not work while the Cancel button works.
I have a similar issue with connecting to ssh unless I'm on wifi. I'm pretty sure my carrier is blocking the ssh port sine everything works on WiFi.
Can you connect when on wifi? Can you try a vpn server with a different port and/or ip?

from reddit :
"turn off the overlay. You can't click secure dialogs through them "
have to say i had this problem before and it was related to a gesture navigation app that had this permission "Display over other app " . disabled that , vpn worked ok .
I solved my problem:
After research and testing, it was the launcher that prevented me from clicking on OK.
I installed Nova launcher and it works.
I've used NoRoot Firewall previously, but I've never encountered it being shut down so often as it's the case on my latest gadget (MiMax3 running 8.1). Is there any way to make it stick/run at all times, no matter what? I have its box "auto start at boot" checked, and under "Battery & Performance" / Battery saver, I've chosen "No restrictions" for it. I guess it has something to do with memory management then?

"No root" firewalls only work as VPN's. Did you already check your VPN settings?
For the before mentioned reason I'm not using a "no root" firewall but AFWall+ Pro (that requires root) as I need to be able to establish my own secure VPN to my PiVPN on my RaspberryPi.
Yes, it creates a "local VPN" connection. And it works great when it's on. But sometimes it gets somehow shut down (which I first noticed because I didn't get any more prompts for apps or services requiring internet access, so I opened the app and the START button was available and STOP was gray; and later on I occasionally checked it - sometimes it was off again).
Not sure how it works, or even if it works because it shows "I can provide even better and smartersuggestions if you use your calendar".
I am useing calendar, and app has permission to it.
But when I go to settings and tap "Personal info" it says - unable to connet - you need a network connection...
still not working, when I tap "Terms of use" it opens web browser with "Service Unavailable" so it HTC sense companion cannot connect to internet.
Any ideas?
Zoe: I was just checking with the concerned department and it seems that they are aware of this issue since last week actually before the weekend and they're investigating this while we speak. I have just informed them with your details as well if you don't mind so they can make sure it gets sorted on your end too.
