Is it possible to install apps on microSD? I need root it?
Thanks!

The M5 doesn't support "Adoptable Storage", where you can format an internal SD as an extension of the internal storage. Check this post for other options:

Hello everyone, i have a memory card of 16Gb (transcend class 10) and i partitioned it into two parts. So that i can use a partition as internal storage for installing apps in Marshmallow Roms. The problem is when i select a partition to be formatted as internal storage both the partitions get merged. How can i use the two partitions seperately? How can i use one partition for installing apps and another partition for keeping media?
(Pardon me if i posted in the wrong place. As I'm a noob in XDA)

i try out this method to SPLIT the SD CARD BETWEEN ADOPTED INTERNAL STORAGE AND PORTABLE EXTERNAL STORAGE.
it work. just follow the instruction on this website :http://blog.sam.liddicott.com/2016/...roidlessons.com/how-to-move-...0-marshmallow/
if you face the problem of adb devices no unauthorized . please follow the solution given here :http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...e-unauthorized

I have a question.
I have a Sony Xperia L.
I'm using the CM 12.1.
I think of migrating CM13 is because of adoptable storage.
Now I have 1.57 GB of internal memory, 4GB internal storage (SD0) and a Micro SD Class 10 with 8 GB.
As I have many applications installed. While using "Move to SD card" easily fill the internal memory (1.57 GB).
I think turn SD 0 in "adoptable storage", would solve all my problems and not create others.
1) Micro SD (SD1) continue to be FAT32. So could continue putting my pictures and music. No problem. When you want to install new ROMs would not need format my SD Card.
2) The "adoptable storage" will be inside the unit, the same unit of physical memory to the internal memory, with the same safety and speed, without the risk of being removed accidentally.
The "adoptable storage" is operation with 3 stesps:
- Partitioning,
- Formating,
- Encript...
Is possible
I ask: is it possible to use SD 0 as "adoptable storage"? How to make?
It is possible to do by ADB with the Android, only format and encrypt the partition that is indicated and "adopt".
Sorry my bad English.
I need help with this, i know Color os not let user to use sd card as portable storage, and have no option in the Phone.
But there is a method that let you set your external sd as a portable internal storage with adb in computer, i already test this method and the sd card already mounted with internal storage, but when i check it on setting>additional setting>storage, my internal storage stay in number like before..
I try on my other phone, and it's work, with my xperia z2, from 16gb to 64gb..
Can someone explain this??:crying::crying:

I also have same issue like you... Wish anyone could help. I've tried to looking for the how-to info on realme & oppo website but still havent found the answers...
Hi,
So I've successfully added external (fat32) drive, formatted as internal... But can't locate it in a file manager.
I can move apps to it, but if I try migrate data; it just says could not migrate. I want to ftp into it but can only see a 4gb available partition or root.
Am I missing something or is this not possible yet?
EDIT:
My sincerest apologies I did not post this in the Chromecast thread instead of general questions. Can a moderator move it or should I delete and repost there?
When you convert external SD-card's storage memory to Android's internal storage memory then it becomes part of Android's internal storage memory. It should be obvious you no longer can access it as external storage memory by means of whatever method

It should be obvious I want to navigate it as internal storage, yet only the 4gb original partition is viewable in file manager. Apps can be moved to it using storage settings. I can't navigate it in ES, Solid Explorer or Kodi, nor can I see it when attempting to ftp into it.

To just add further context...
Ive installed a 500gb USB SSD as internal storage in hopes to transfer media files to it via FTP. Despite being able to install or move apps to the USB device it appears as though I only have a 4gb capacity in any and all file managers.

FAT32 disks only supports files up to 4GB even if volume size may be up to 2TB.

I theorize that when the drive is formatted by Chromecast to internal storage that it's changed to some proprietary variation of ext3 or ext4 anyway.
Regardless, I only formatted the drive to fat32 originally as Chromecast won't recognise any other formats such as ext or NTFS. Connecting anything but fat32 results in message "disk ejected safely".
Regardless, this was only a step towards getting it to accept the drive to format as internal. Fat32 file size limitations is irrelevant to what I'm trying to find out here.
What I'm trying is ideally going to circumvent fat32 limitations, or I would just keep it as an external, unmountable drive and drag and drop my media from a PC.
Hi guy! Please help me! I insert the 64GB Samsung SD card into my X2 and It ask that: would like format the SD card as external storage or internal storage and I choose "internal storage". After that I can not access any file, media... on internal storage or SD card. I can not find where I can format the SD card as external storage. Can you give me the solution for this case? Thanks.
Im using a Oppo A52 and my sd card isn't showing up as an adoptable disk on adb shell. Any Suggestions?
If you insert an external SD-card and Android then doesn't offer to format it as "Internal Storage" then Adoptable Storage feature isn't supported.
