Hi Guys,
Firstly I'm a Noob and just about rooted my phone been working fine for a year but all of a sudden got stuck in boot loop yesterday. It's a Samsung S4, GT-19505.
Hadn't flashed any new stuff to it was just restarting with xposed framework to log into snapchat which I've done 1000 times before.
I can get into CWM based recovery mode but otherwise can't get phone to boot past Samsung screen.
I will just do a factory reset but there are files on the device I really need so was wondering is there any way of accessing these through the recovery mode or something? Or a way of doing a reset so all system files etc are reset but I don't lose my images, audio files etc?
Any help greatly appreciated. Sorry if some of that doesn't make sense or this post is in wrong section! I looked for older threads with an answer first but couldn't find any.
Thanks,
HB

1) doing a factory reset clears data(excluding internal storage),cache, dalvik so it's highly unlikely you would lose any if your files.
2)you can connect your phone to pc via USB ,then enable mtp mode/mount storage in settings and can access your data through PC .
I mistakenly froze my default home screen app in the Titanium Backup app and now the home screen went black. I restarted on phone and it will not pass the galaxy logo when restarting. It is stuck there. Any idea on how to go about fixing this besides factory reset? Galaxy S6 Edge
Hi, unfortunately the only solution to your problem that I know of would be to factory reset your device, however if you back up the data partition to a USB OTG stick or the root of your device using a custom recover eg. TWRP you should be able to restore your data using a custom recovery.
Hi! I'm quite new here and I'm not sure if this post breaks any rule. T_T
Anyway, I successfully rooted my Xperia XA (F3115), thanks to this guide: [F31xx][Video Guide] How to root your Xperia XA (as noob friendly as possible )
However, after rooting, when I tried to encrypt the internal storage again, it seems like there is a problem. The encryption started but when the process rebooted my phone, it is taking too long. It has been more than 3 hours and my phone is still stuck in the boot screen with the "Xperia" text. :crying::crying::crying:
I do not want to interrupt the boot as I'm afraid it might mess up my phone. Do you have any advice?
Thank you in advance!
~~Update:
Because I need to use the phone I decided to risk it and interrupted the boot loop by holding the power button + volume up.
The phone restarted and showed that the encryption failed, giving me an option to Reset the phone.
I opted to reset the Phone. It just booted to the setup screen you get when the phone is new.
I will try to encrypt the phone again after setup.
~~update:
I have confirmed the Super SU app was the culprit. If you want to encrypt the phone again you will have to do it before the step where you have to boot into recovery to install Super SU.
~~update:
After setting my own password and encrypting the phone, I tried booting to TWRP. It asked for the password so I typed in my password, but it failed. Any idea why?
I really want to have a rooted AND encrypted Xperia XA.
Enable OEM Unlocking
Factory Reset from settings
Encrypt your internal storage
Unlock Bootloader
Flash respective images.
When entering TWRP, do not try to decrypt, tap CANCEL
swipe to allow modification, Swipe it
Flash SuperSU
Restore DRM
Reboot
Done
Your phone is encrypted and rooted.
My Galaxy S6 is in Bootloop.
When the lock screen appears it restarts, staying in this situation forever. I did full backup on TWRP, then did a clean rom flash (Noble Nougat 5.1), it restarted and I set it up normally. When I joined TWRP and restored Data to get back with my apps, the bootloop problem came back. I tried to get into safe mode to uninstall some app that was conflicting, but even going into safe mode it rebooted by itself.
I can copy any file from my S6 to an external hard drive through the TWRP file manager.
Is there any way to back up some applications in the situation that my S6 is? There are some apps that I can not lose data for nothing.

Maybe that's because you are trying to recover apps from an old android/system version.
Hello,
my friends Samsung Galaxy A51 crashed while using it, opening a google docs link she received via WhatsApp.
Restarting the phone will only show Samsung logo, then Samsung Galaxy A51 logo and then dead again. No boot loop.
In the morning the wake up alarm set in the phone plays its chimes but display remains black.
Rebooting phone with holding volume down doesn't work.
The phone is not rooted or flashed.
I can enter Recovery mode. Tried to restart system. Tried to delete cache. Tried to repair apps. None of this changed anything.
I can connect via adb but only in Sideload mode. Hoped to unsintall Samsung Browser as this might be a damaged app. But I don't have permission because USB debugging is not toggled. I tried adb restart and adb restart recovery. Phone will no restart to Android. Restarting to recovery works but doesn't solve the problem.
I can bring the phone to Download mode. Btw. none of the tutorials helped to do this. At some point I double-tapped the power button and was surprised to get into Download mode. I wanted to flash TWRP recovery to the phone to get more options to backup and recovery. Unfortunatley the OEM protection did not allow me to flash TWRP recovery.
My friend is from Ukraine and has her Ukrainian banking app registered with this phone and currently no other possibility to access her bank account. Also she has a lot of data like contacts, messages, photos and videos only on this phone. So we can not do a factory reset.
Do you have any other ideas for troubleshooting?
Do you have any ideas how to remove OEM protection without access to OS so I can at least flash TWRP and do a backup?
Do you have any other idea how I could backup the phone?
Unfortunately I still have not been successful to get the phone working again or to backup or read any data.
Just to add another information: I drained the battery to 0% so the phone was totally dead. I was not optimistic that this full power off might help any more than the restarts I did so far. But running out of ideas. It didn't help or change anything.
I'm afraid only a factory reset could at least repair the phone :-(

Without OEM-Unlocking and USB-Debugging you will not be able to install TWRP and if so then all data would be gone automatically anyway, as this is equivalent to a factory reset.
The only way would be to download the STOCK-ROM with "Frija" (quick and free) and flash it with "Odin". Of course, the mobile phone is then virgin and has to be set up again from the beginning. A Google login restores a lot of data. Setting up the banking app again (username & password, etc.) shouldn't be a problem either.
Of course you can also try a factory reset first, but setting up a completely new one is not avoided here either.
Much luck!
