Is screen glass protector sensitivity better? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Accessories

Hello,
I used to have a Glass Screen Protector (Cellularline, about 35$) on my Note 8. Adhesive on edges, dot matrix. It was a real pain to use the touchscreen due to huge sensitivity dropp in all of the screen (except edges).
On Note 9 there is a sensitivity settings (you can use the touch with gloves on too) so my question is: this helps or the touch loses sensitivity with that option too?
Right now I'm using a Zagg Invisibile Shield HD which is not glass but the touch is so nice with it (and there is very litte drag with the pen)... I'd like to go on glass but I don't want to fight with the touch every time.
I lack the dexterity needed for Dome, so no luck for me.
Thanks.

I'm using a "normal" tempered glass which I purchased from my carrier store. With that setting on the screen behaves just like it did when it was naked.

I have a Phantomskinz plastic protector on my phone. I'd wager my weight in gold that it's as sensitive as any other screen protector on the market, whether glass or plastic. If my case unfriendly version wasn't pushing up at one corner I wouldn't even know its on the phone.

Just as a heads-up I bought the ZAGG tempered glass screen protector with the curved edges. Even with the sensitivity increased in the advanced settings section of the note 9 I notice a definite decrease in sensitivity when typing.
Sometimes I'm typing with my two thumbs on the keyboard and it doesn't pick up my touch. It's really annoying. I wonder if the white Dome screen protector with the liquid that you pour onto the screen underneath the tempered glass screen protector would increase sensitivity more.
Typing with the S Pen with the ZAGG screen protector on is fine though.

I would imagine that any glass protector will interfere with he digitizer on this phone. I've only messed with tempered glass on one phone and have mixed feelings about it. I am not bothered to get glass for my note9 or note4 to find out. It is just the note series has a unique digitizer to accommodate the s pen and at the very least I think it would pressure sensitivity, including the 4096 levels not to to mention the angle. Depending on the firmware it could affect input latency a hair, but I doubt enough to notice.
I've asked GSMarena to see I they will start adding input latency in their reviews. I've asked anandtech before but there was no reply. I didn't expect one since Shinpi and Klug left for Apple. I believe input latency and cellular/Wifi reception are neglected in reviews these day especially when Motorola and Nokia were known for their excellent radios. I know some Apple fanboys that have only had iPhones since 2007 and think iPhones have the best reception because they know it. ?. I do have to say I think Samsung's reception has improved the last 5 years or so. It would be nice if Sammy gave us input latency numbers as a feature spec.

The whitestone and other LOCA based protectors work perfectly fine, it feels like it's naked. The reason cheaper quality protectors don't work well is because they leave an air gap between the screen and protector, but LOCA based protectors don't.

Screen Protector

For those of you who already have their Touch Cruise, I'd be interested to hear about how the screen protector sits on the screen. The pictures seem to show a flush face, which might make the screen protector look a bit odd and also come off much easier.
I have also seen some posts indicating the screen itself if a little different than the traditional touch screens to support the touchflo interface. Does that have any effect on the screen protector?
Thanks!

The screen protector is not the regular rectangular shape so it is not odd! It is cut to fit the contours of the whole front, minus the silver buttons area. Has cutouts for the camera and the earpiece area. You wont notice it is there if you allign it well. Make sure you sprinkle some water on the protector adhesive surface, and the device screen itself (careful here!) so that you can adjust the position, and then "scrape"out the excess water. Any trapped droplet will evaporate with time
1) Does the screen protector come with the package?
2) Now that your screen protector is flushed with the device surface, do you think it will come off from the edges if you were to slide it in and out of your pocket (or leather pouch)? Coz I have this Sony T-100 cam with a flushed screen surface and boy.. the protector came off very badly as I slide it in and out of the pouch.
Thanks!

Came in the package. Sticks well so no sign of peeling yet. I don't think it will peel off without special effort
What is the colour of of yours and where you bought it?

Well david, the screen protector fits almost perfect over the full surface screen area of the phone. You will not even be able to realize it,but for sure you'll find an only small problem, just around the lens of the camera.....take a view of it.

Even if you try your best to fit it better than i did, you will never get the circle of the stick with the circle of the cam. I don't think is a real problem.
Here you can see how the sticker fits at the lower side of my phone, just perfect.

I got a perfect fit. Maybe because mine is not the O2 version. I gave a detailed process using water on both protector sticky surface and the device screen earlier

[Review] Movaluate 7 Tempered Glass Screen Protector

*Intro*
I've seen my fair share of glass screen protectors, ranging from my Galaxy S2 protector from Spigen (2011~) to a super cheap $3 glass screen protector on Amazon for my girlfriend's iPhone, which came cracked and felt really cheap and shoddy overall (branding, packaging). I figured I'd go for something more mid-ranged for my Galaxy S5 and wound up choosing the Movaluate 7 glass screen protector.
*Contents & Packaging*
The screen protector came in a heavy card stock enclosure, backed by a solid piece of cardboard, which was all wrapped by the main outer sleeve. Although it wasn't as sophisticated in construction as some of the other protectors I've seen (Spigen, Tech Armor), it seemed to do the job well enough. The outer sleeve was quite attractive with a matte/glossy contrast and holographic accents.
Along with the screen protector came a microfiber cloth, and dust removal stickers. No home button this time, presumably for the fingerprint ID feature.
*Installation*
Installing glass protectors for the most part is easy due to their rigid nature—just align with the home button and then slowly guide/lower it into place. Nothing fancy like suction cups or hinging tape here. The adhesive applied without any fuss, and any bubbles disappeared in less than 15 minutes.
I typically install my screen protectors in my home bathroom after running a hot shower (to pull the dust out of the air), but I applied this one at work so there were some specks of dust but they are imperceptible with the S5 turned on, and negligible with the display off.
*Fit, Finish & Feel*
For it's $15.99 price tag, it can definitely compete with the best of the screen protectors out there. Although it is a relatively thicker at 0.4mm, I prefer this for its better durability and impact protection. The screen protector covers the display perfectly, edge-to-edge and the cutouts for the speaker grill and home button are both cut to very precise tolerances
One of my biggest gripes with PET and other plastic film-based screen protectors is there feel. They are usually either too tacky, or just don't feel as good as the stock display. The Movaluate screen protector feels just as good as the stock display if not better—buttery smooth and resists fingerprints and smudges.
*Final thoughts*
I should also mention that the optical clarity is spot on and that the edges are comfortably rounded, making them compatible with most cases. Overall, very satisfied with the product. Time will tell regarding it's durability but based on its well manufactured appearance, I believe it will perform well.
You can buy them from their Amazon shop or on their website which has some interesting videos as well
Hope this review helps you make a good choice for your Galaxy S5!

Yes I agree. I have one of their covers for my iPhone 5 soon to be left to the side collecting dust. I got one for my S5 but received it cracked in the mail. So in the process of getting a replacement. Their CS is sort of slow. So let's see what happens.

Curved Tempered Glass Review...

Okay here goes.... This is my first ever review on........anywhere for anything...
Before I begin, let me say that I don't like to spend a lot of money when it comes to cases or any other protection for my phones....I have 1 transparent TPU case for my phone... 1 tempered glass... and just recently I ordered a DBrand Skin for the back of my phone...
I initially bought the phone when it was launched, the phone came with an original screen protector (center only, not edge to edge) stuck on it, but I'm not a very big fan of screen protectors. Despite my itchy fingers wanting to remove it I let it be, and in the meanwhile, I had ordered a curved tempered glass from Ali Express. Thinking to myself that no way this will be curved and it will be like how most of the tempered glass are for curved screens but I still decided to waste my on it...
Incidentally a couple of days prior to the delivery I had to return the device for replacements so I kept it aside once delivered. A couple of days back I got my "safe" Note7 and the original screen protector was not stuck properly, there was dust particle bubbles and it was not in the center. So I thought I would finally get a chance to "unbox" the curved tempered glass (if there was such a thing). And to my amazement it was CURVED!
This is what the box looks like....

As you can see the tempered glass covers almost 98% of the screen which with my case makes it almost seamless protection. The home button hides away insides due to the thickness of the glass.
The cut outs for the camera, speakers, iris scanner and the home button is exact so there has to be no room for error. Also, something that I didn't like, the adhesive is only in the center of the tempered glass so the edges and curves look like they are peeling off but that's how it is...
Now I have been using the tempered glass for a couple of days now. And I have realized that the screens sensitivity has gone for a toss especially with the keyboard. I don't know why but I haven't notice the sensitivity issues when playing games but while using the stylus and the keyboard it is greatly affected. At first I thought it might be Samsung's default keyboard so I installed Google Keyboard and the issues still persisted. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....
Overall, I am surprised that it is a curved screen but I am going to remove it because of the sensitivity issues.
Is there any "rainbow effect" when you press screen?

No there isn't.... but i removed it and the adhesive is only on the edges and not on the complete glass as I previously thought it would be.
@ mods... please merge this thread with >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/accessories/hunt-adhesive-tempered-glass-protector-t3449697
ALL screens without adhesive will have a loss of touch sensitivity. There is a layer of air in between the glass and the screen. With nothing between your touch and the screen, of course your touches will not be registered unless you press hard on it. Worse yet, the glass is touching some parts of the screen (rainbow effect) and messing up touch accuracy
There is no solution for this right now except for some non-full coverage glass protectors, but they look so awful. I have been using it without a protector for about 2 weeks now. I treat my phone with utmost care and only put it in my pocket and nothing else goes in this pocket. There is a very faint scratch on it. It requires very accurate lighting and concentration to look for it but it's there. It is probably not a scratch on the glass but the oleophobic coating, but a scratch is a scratch. But I just can't bring myself to use these subpar screen protectors that lowers the screen quality so much
After trying and regretting 2 glass supposedly full coverage protectors, I ended with Samsung's original film protector. It certainly does not sacrifice touch sensitivity, and is the closest to bare glass I've found.

P30 Pro LOCA UV adhesive screen protectors?

Because of the curved glass of the P30 Pro, conventional screen protectors don't really work and so relatively recently there have been these newer LOCA-based ones that require the user to apply a layer of glue on the phone screen before attaching the screen protector and then curing the adhesive with a UV lamp.
Personally I've tried using them on my P30 Pro but there's this strange bubble issue and I wanted to ask if anyone else encountered this and if there's a way to avoid it.
When I apply the screen protector, there are no bubbles in the adhesive under the glass. When I initially cure it with the UV lamp, it solidifies just as expected and the screen protector anneals as intended. But I notice that within 24 hours of application, small bubbles start to form near the edges of the screen protector where there were initially none. These bubbles aren't in contact with the very edge, they seem to form in the MIDDLE of the adhesive NEAR the edges so it's not caused by air leaking. Within 3 days, these bubbles expand into unsightly lines that stretch along the length of the phone. I've tried 2 different brands and it happens every time I apply one of these screen protectors.
What's causing these bubbles to form, and is there any way to avoid it?

In the end I got a G-Color screen protector from Amazon and applied it myself. It's been a week and so far everything is good with no emerging bubbles. It seems there are several factors that cause emerging bubbles, like tiny dust particles in the glue or applying the glass slightly off-centre from the phone so that the screen's curved glass is an uneven distance from the screen protector.
Try looking and researching for Mocoll tempered glass screen protector for p30 pro. Seems to work well, fully adhesive.

Nubia Tempered Glass

I ordered the Tempered glass from NubiaMart - took a while to arrive, but now that it has, I was impressed to see it's actually made by Nubia.
The quality is very good and the package includes a plastic trim that's used to help guide the glass when installing it so that it lines up perfectly.
There a warning/recommendation to re-learn your fingerprints after installing a screen protector - unfortunately, this is the biggest flaw with the glass.
The fingerprint sensor on the 5G is finicky to begin with (the first software update improved it a bit) but with the glass installed the fingerprint sensor has become pretty much un-useable. I can only hope a future update will improve the sensor further to allow it to work with the glass installed.
Update: rebooted the phone and re-learned fingerprints again - went a bit better and working about the same as before...
where did you buy the glass? I was hoping that the fingerprint would work so how many times do you need to press your thumb in order to unlock it?
I purchased from nubiamart.com
They now have other screen protector options available for the 5G, but I purchased this one:
https://www.nubiamart.com/original-...d-glass-protective-film-screen-protector.html
Fingerprint detection is still hit and miss - sometimes it'll work immediately, other times not at all. I'm not sure if it's a matter of finger positioning or pressure or star alignment...
Hi there
I buy this one...

I got a glass screen protector with the device from Cect-shop and had the same issue.
Lots of air bubbles yet I believe I did a good job of fitting!
It ended up cracking in two places, I have no idea how. Just took the phone out my pocket and it was cracked.
Anyway, I bought the following case and got a free glass screen protector.
It fitted "almost" perfectly, one small air bubble in the bottom left (off the screen itself and on the chin).
Pretty happy with it to be honest and the case is fantastic quality.

for the fingerprint, i figured out that if you learn your fp while using the provided film it works great, but once you apply the glass it will not work, so by simply relearning the fingerprints will do the job.. =)
