Hello,
A few days ago I managed to go back to a stock rom from a custom one. I have a FRD-L09432B360 firmware at the moment, but the bootloader is unlocked. I don't remember the code I used to unlock the bootloader, and I'd like to relock the bootloader so I am able to update to the latest firmwares. I've read that by downgrading to Marshmellow the bootloader will relock itself.
I am following this guide to do so, but when I reboot to apply the UPDATE.APP of the rollback package, it get stucks on 5% for a while, and after a few minutes it reboots, leaving me with the same firmware.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Is there another way to relock the bootloader without the unlocking code?
Thanks a lot,
Mcat
I still haven't been able to fix this issue? Any idea is appreciated, thanks
You don't need to relock the bootloader to update. Use hurupdater

Does the bootloader update when you install a new version of a stock rom such as 2.3.4 or how do you update it?
No, once you unlock it, it's going to stay unlocked unless you do a fastboot oem lock
There is no such thing as updating the bootloader
Hey guys i was just wondering if there was any way to flash back to stock without loosing my bootloader unlock?
the only way to re-lock the bootloader is by using the fastboot command for it.
This is an interesting question.
I am currently on the latest 4.4.4 and now I would like to try CM 12.x (5.1.).
In case I do not like 5.1, how do I get back to stock without losing the unlocked bootloader?
flashing back to stock will not relock your bootloader. the only way is by fastboot command. so if you an unlocked bootloader there is no need to worry about losing that. you will however lose root which is easy to get back.
Any way to lock the Bootloader without flashing the stock firmware again?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the last time i checked you CAN'T lock Bootloader after you unlock it.
Hi all !!!
As soon as I received my ZS551KL, I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted it.
I cannot update to Android 8 because my bootloader is unlocked, but I cannot found how to relock it for updating. I have tried fastboot oem lock and fastboot oem relock in fastboot mode without success.
Do you know how to do it?
Thank you so much :good:
You can flash raffyvito's modified Oreo zip, that way you get the stock recovery from which you flash the official Asus zip with the firmware updates, then you flash TWRP again and you're golden. You should check out his thread.
Hi guys. Do we have any news on how to relock the bootloader? Also can someone of you share the stock oreo recovery?
I am considering relocking the bootloader for my HTC U12+. I unlocked it a long time ago (out of habit I guess). So my phone is completely running stock without any modifications. I want to relock the phone to get widewine back to L1, so I'll get Netflix updates and such.
A few questions about relocking that I couldn't find an answer to.
1. When I relock the bootloader will it do a factory reset to the phone? I'm asking because unlocking did.
2. If later on I decide to unlock the relocked bootloader again, do I have to get another unlock-code from HTC? Or is unlocking a relocked bootloader a simpler procedure?
So I decided to do the relocking. During the relocking procedure I was being told on the screen that the phone will be wiped if I continue. It remains to be seen how I'll unlock it later on if I want to.

2. You have to to go through the HTCDev website procedure (not sure if you can reuse the previous Unlock_code.bin file).
is it possible to get "locked bootloader" instead of "relocked bootloader" and get rid of system status modified?
