Hey,
Whats the best recommendation for a nice feeling case that also has a stand? Ive seen Spigen tough armour but it looks a bit blocky
Samsung rugged cover. Many people are opting for the rugged cover over their usual favorites. @ $40 it is pricey but worth it.
Reminds me of a deck chair though. I adored it on note 8 then they did all them weird lines on the back
Those lines really aren't as bad in person as they seem in photos. They actually make the case quite easy to grip in hand.

They're subtle in hand. Look aggressive in pics.
Samsung's rugged case is my absolute favorite! To me, it even helps with one-handed reachability! Highly recommended!
I like this one from Samsung:

I'm afraid all the cases with a stand I've foud will add some bulk.

I like the Seidio Suface case, these are due to ship out 8/31
https://www.seidioonline.com/shop/?device=galaxy-note-9&style=surface
I personally use spigen tough armour. May look blocky but good protection and build in kick stand help to overcome that problem. Let's just hope they will release slim armour soon like for last few years...
I returned the Spigen Tough Armor, and kept the Samsung.
The stand on the Spigen has the volume buttons on the bottom, so you can't change the volume when using the stand with them.
The Samsung can be placed either way, and even in portrait mode.
OEM case hands down, best they released so far.

Umm, tough armor can be placed either way too. Don't know how you came to the conclusion it can't. I was kind of skeptical of the OEM Samsung case being in the middle but OLED reflectivity made that a non issue. I used my V20 in my tough armor case mostly and the offset stand came in handy depending on chair and if I slouched or not. Being offset made it user adjustable basically.
It can but I don't see why most people would want such a shallow angle. I've owned Slim Armor cases for at least half a dozen of my phones and I've never once used the stand like that.

It's all relative. I bought 9 cases for my Note 9 totaling well over 150 dollars in the past year trying to find the right one. I'd rather spend 40 on one case and never have to worry about it again. It's not cheap, but I've not seen one better in stores.

The tough armor packs the kickstand on the bottom right side of the phone while looking at it. If you were to try to use the kickstand with the volume buttons facing up the phone is laying nearly flat lol.

Yes. Good position if you're sitting at a desk and looking down as if you were reading.
I ordered this as it was really cheap, just 8.99. It's called the Orzero TPU + PC Hybrid Dual Layer Case, and I love it! The ring in back rotates so if can prop up the phone in both directions although landscape is pretty shallow. It doubles as a device to allow for one-handed operation by sticking a finger through the ring, freeing up the thumb to wander anywhere without worrying about dropping your phone. Downside: made of metal, can't use wireless charger with it on. I use it when I leave home and am not going to charge wirelessly anyways. I bought another case with no stand for when I'm at home.
Edit: Photo won't upload! ?

Sorry about another "case recommendation" thread, but my question is a little different.
I need a case that can be removed relatively quickly due to the phone not fitting in my car dock if there is a case attached. I really want the Otterbox Commuter case, but unfortunately it would be a hassle to have to remove it and put it on every time I want to use my car dock.
So, any good case recommendations for the Skyrocket which can be easily and quickly removed?
you have the seidio "surface combo" (case+holster). the bottom of the case can be removed as necessary.

look at this post: you can see some pictures of the surface and the active cases.

I ordered a SEIDIO surface case/holster combo (AKA Best buy Platinum Series). Had one on my Captivate and it was a breeze to put on and take off.
I'm currently using a cheap tpu case I bought off ebay to use until the Seidio became available. It's really easy to install and remove also.
I bough this one...

I really like it. There's another one with glossy finish for $1 less.

That first one you linked to is the same one I got off ebay for the same price. I wonder if it's the same seller?
Decent case though. Easy on/off and slides in and out of pants pocket without dragging/sticking like some silicone cases do. Matte finish doesn't show fingerprints/smudges either.
Otterbox Commuter Series is the only way to go!
Otterboxes have just gotten too big IMO. When the phone quadruples in thickness, its too big.

Yeah. I've used that series on my last three phones. My Otter for the SR came yesterday and I'm quite happy with it. It comes with a screen protector like my others did but that wasn't specified when I ordered it from their site. I bought an invisible shield when I bought the phone but haven't installed it yet. I can probably return that to Best Buy for the $20 or $30 it cost me. I have one on my 64G iTouch and I'm not sure it doesn't have a negative impact on the touch screen's responsiveness. Make sure you get the Commuter. They make three models for this phone. The Defender is kind of obtrusive. I generally only recommend them for extremely klutzy people (ex-girlfriend) who I KNOW will drop the thing at least once a day. The low end is just a gel slip over that's worthless.
One thing I like about the Commuter is, it makes it much easier to push the power button without accidentally turning the volume all the way down which has happened several times. Who thought putting the power button opposite the volume rocker was a good idea? There's a reason they are almost always on different axes.

The Defender adds some size. The Commuter adds very little despite having a thin gel inner lining under the hard outer case.

Love the platinum series from best buy. got mine yesterday. Adds the least bulk of any case I've tried. Matte black, hard rubber feel.
I got my Spigen Tough Armor for the s5 on Tuesday, and it's by far my favorite case I've owned for any of my devices. Definitely prefer this to Lifeproof and Otterbox overall. You can find it on Amazon here.
It's slim, the buttons click easily, and the heart rate monitor and fingerprint reader work like a charm. Only issue is until you get used to it it is a bit difficult to get the charging cover open, but after a day or two of doing it it's pretty easy.
Says it's compatible with Spigen's glass screen protectors as well, I'll be getting one soon.
Thanks for the quick review and pictures!
Do you feel this case adds a lot of bulk to the phone?
According to the product page, the case adds approximately half a centimeter to every dimension. In the hand, it doesn't feel like your phone is any thicker due to the beveled edges.
I just received my Gunmetal Tough Armor case today & there's a good chance I'm going to like it more than the Otterbox I had on my previous phone.
I hate the fact that you can see the plastic bezel on most of the new cases for the S5. That's what I'm trying to cover up with the case!
How secure do you feel holding it? I was very surprised that the case felt very slippery with the hard plastic shell. Debating returning it or trying to spray plastidip to give it some grip.
Also ordered this case can't wait for it to arrive

how are you using the fingerprint sensor? which finger and position?
I wonder if it'll work with the wireless charging back cover....
For the ones who have the case, does the bottom plastic part (right below the home button) move around when using the fingerprint features? I have the spigen tpu case and the bottom part below the home button is too flexible.
I have a tough armour and yes it is. It's TPU and a bit thin so does "flex" when you use the finger print reader.

Just got this case today. LOVE the case. I feels comfortable. and im sure if i dropped it, it'd protect it just fine. Only problem, if you have slight bigger fingers, the heart monitor can be a bit difficult to use. But i'd still recommend this case to anyone. A must have
I got the Slim Tough in electric blue, love it. I thought the Tough looked slippery on the back, so I got the Slim Tough. I do like the Slim Tough look more though.
It was tough trying the Spigen case as I have used the Case-Mate tough case for my last three phones and loved it, but no regrets now.
Also works well with the Spigen Glas.tr screen protector.

I have both of them and much prefer the tough armor.
Forgive me, but my slim armor is at home, so i can't offer pictures until later. I disliked the way the slim armor gripped the front of the phone around the edges of the screen. The left and right sides encroached on the face of the phone about a mm more than the top/bottom. This meant that the bit of metal around the edge only showed at the top/bottom. It drove me batty. I like the feel of the tough armor more as well.

Is this code for Amazon?
I used a Diztronic TPU on my Galaxy Note 3 so I was very happy to see a preorder on Diztronic's website for a full matte version for the Note 4. I preordered on Nov.16 and received the case on Saturday.
My impressions of this case are very positive. The case is slim and fits the phone nicely. Mine shows no bulging or loose edges. The matte TPU does provide some screen standoff on the front side. I measured this at 0.75mm. Mic, headphone, USB and pen holes align nicely and the buttons retain a nice tactile feel with this case. I use a Verizon Note 4 and can confirm that the case I received DOES have a slotted left side mic opening to support the Verizon Note 4. The button covers are molded into the TPU but have pronounced edges, so they are easy to find without having to look at the phone.
I use the YooTech wireless charging receiver insert and the Diztronic TPU fits nicely with this receiver in place. I do not believe it would fit with the factory wireless charging back as the case fits perfectly to the stock phone. The case does have a small raised ridge around the camera lens and small ridges around the speaker. This gives some protection for the camera lens and keeps the case from "sealing" against the table and muting your notification tones. The area around the flash is open and I am able to very reliably get heart rate readings for S Health, something that isn't easily found with many thicker cases.
The TPU material is quite thin. Diztronic's website says 1.6mm and my measurements seem in line with that number. The case does not add much bulk and for sure feels slimmer in the hand all-around when compared to the Spigen Slim Armor I had been using since I got the phone. I'm sure it won't provide the kind of protection that the Slim Armor does, as the cushioning material is thinner, but it sure does feel nice in the hand while offering some level of protection over a bare phone.
One of the things I really like about this case is the matte finished TPU. It feels smooth and slick in hand and does not show much in the way of fingerprints. The matte finish slides easily in/out of your pocket. Diztronic made a good move by relocating their branding to the side of the case, which adds a little bit of grip and keeps the look super clean overall.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the Diztronic Full Matte TPU case for Note 4. It provides some protection for the phone and is a little more grippy in-hand than the bare phone. I like that the screen stands off a bit and the camera lens is somewhat protected. I also appreciate that the full matte finish doesn't collect pocket lint or gunk and doesn't show much in the way of fingerprints. And it looks classy!
I really like the Note 4 as a caseless device. It feels very slim for its size and feels great. Unfortunately, I know I am going to inevitably drop it at some point and want some protection without making the phone too bulky, which is really easy to do. The Diztronic Full Matte TPU feels like it hits that sweet spot for me. Time will tell, but for now I give it two solid thumbs up.
:good: :good:
I purchased this case direct from Diztronic: LINK I expect they will probably be available via Amazon shortly. They are currently showing as available on Diztronic's website in both matte black and matte grey.
Updated to include Verizon mic confirmation and pics attached.
Does it have an elongated mic opening for Verizon users? This is the case I've been waiting for...always a favorite.
Absolutely loved mine for my previous phone. Best TPU cases imo. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
I'll probably pick one up even though I might opt for a more protective case this time around.

Thanks for the update! I just ordered one. I've had a Diztronic case for my last 3 phones and have been happy with all of them. I'm sure this one will be no different.
thanks for the review! i've always been iffy with diztronic, yet i seem to get one per each phone i have just to have one lol..
out of all the TPU's i use, they're always the most bulky which i dislike, because i like them thin..but there's NO good note 4 tpu's out there whatsoever. i'm currently using a clear S line TPU, which is good and all, but the mic holes don't line up perfect, and it doesn't fit as well as it could..plus it's clear, and we all know clear starts looking like crap after a few weeks. i've gotten like 4 other TPU's and shell cases and I hate all of them.
diztronic is nice because they do a lip around the camera, which NO tpu's are doing right now, which means your camera is pretty much flush against the surface which i hate...and they also have two little bumps by the speaker to elevate the speaker off the table so it's not muffled! FINALLY, a TPU maker with some sense knocked into em!
either way, i ordered the gunmetal gray because every diztronic i ever got was always black, so i'm looking for a nice change. ordered today, they say those ship out tomorrow the 26th, so maybe I'll get it by saturday or monday with thanksgiving coming up and all. this will be like my 6th or 7th case already for the Note and I've only been using 1 lol
Does it fit with the OEM Qi back?

I don't find the Diztronic bulky at all. The Diztronic for the Note3 was very rounded feeling, where the Note 4 Diztronic is more squared off and edgy, just like the Note 4 itself. I think you'll like it and the holes line up nicely as pictured above.

As noted in my review, I do not believe it would fit with the OEM back. I say this because it fits relatively snug as-is with the stock back or stock back + thin Qi receiver. But I don't have an OEM Qi back to try it with.

Haha, what's up brother? I really liked my diztronic on my laggy as hell S4.
So I'm hoping to like this one as well. Good luck bro!
Diztronic makes the best TPU cases as far as I'm concerned. I was disappointed when they had to delay the release due to the Verizon mic hole revelation, and ended up going with a UAG case, but anybody looking for a great case for under 10 bucks, this is what you want. I might even pick one up for myself, just in case.
Diztronic is awesome. I had their case on my Note 3, LG G3, and now I'm waiting for the Note 4 case that supports the OEM wireless charging back. They made one for the S5, I really hope they make one for the Note 4!
I ordered mine today. It is only 12 Euro, together with shipping to Ireland, directly from manufacturer's page.
Already have Spigen Capsule and it is great, but flat buttons and flat speaker hole are not perfect for me. Diztronic seems to meet all my requirements. Hope it will appear to be true

I forgot to post yesterday, but I got my black Diztronic yesterday, a day earlier than estimated. It is the best case I've tried so far, although I haven't tried a lot yet.
The fit is perfect, not too loose or too tight. It adds almost no bulk which I really like. The matte black is awesome and feels great in the hand. Not super grippy, but it will do the job. All of the cutouts are perfect. The camera has enough raise that the lens won't touch a flat surface and the charger fits in without the case interfering. The buttons are also very easy to press, no problems there. In fact, the buttons are easier to press with this case on than without it.
The only thing I noticed is that in a couple areas, the frame moves pretty easily if you pull on it. Especially near the charging port. It doesn't sag at all which is great, but I just wonder if it will become an issue over time. Possibly not but that's the only small thing I've noticed so far.
Other than that, this case is fantastic and blows away any Spigen that makes your phone uneccesarily bulky and for less money.
I do also have an official Samsung protective case coming that is supposed to ship next week. I've heard that's also an amazing case, so I will compare once I get that.
I didn't take any pics of my Diztronic since so many great pics have already been posted. But let me know if you would like to see any.
Got in the Ballistic Tough Jacket cases today and they are not that bad at all. They feel great in the hand, the power and volume buttons have the best feel and operation of any case I've tried yet. The rubber liner is very soft, feels nice and I can guarantee it will not scratch or harm the Note 4. One major flaw is the rubber below the home button. I do not believe that you would be able to use the fingerprint scanner and just pushing the home button the rubber feels in the way.
Also this rubber will sag below the home button and at the top from just taking the phone in and out of a pocket. I don't believe that it will be long before it's all loose, hanging and saggy.
I used the rubber from the Maxx with the port covers on the regular tough jacket black & white shell.
Amazon has the Tough Jacket for $15. and the Tough Jacket Maxx for $20. so they were pretty cheap. The screen protector included with the Maxx is a cheap feeling POS that I would never even try. The belt clip seems OK but again it's something I'll never use.
I'll see how it holds up after a couple days of use and report back. Here's a couple of pictures.
No Ballistic love? :crying:
It's a good looking case.
I hate the way the corners look on these cases. It's hilarious looking.
I don't like the rubber or that it isn't all one piece. I'm happy with my official samsung case... not the flip one.

But will it protect the Note 4 corners when you drop it? I'm not going to try it. :silly:
I'm already back in the Commuter case in less then 24 hours.
Here are a couple pictures of the Maxx and regular Tough Jacket side by side.
The silicone on the Maxx is quite a bit bigger then the regular Tough Jacket.
After playing around with these two cases for a while I can tell you the regular Tough Jacket silicone is much nicer then the Maxx silicone. It does not have the port covers but it is much smaller, fits tighter around the phone and goes in and out of pockets easier. I threw some silicone "Port Plugs" on the phone (have to keep my ports covered) and will test this combination for a couple of days.
If you can live without the port covers & belt clip the regular Tough Jacket is the better choice.
Here's a couple pictures:
This is the best case in my opinion. This is the 3rd phone that I cover with it.

Are you using the regular tough jacket or the tough jacket maxx with the Note 4?
How's the silicone near the home button / charging port holding up?
Actually better than the one on my s3.... Tougher.lol
---------- Post added at 09:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 PM ----------
Holding up nicely so far.... Have had since the phone came out.
Another thing about these cases... On my s3 towards the end, when I would get drunk at a bar I used to show. People how tough the case was I would throw it over my shoulder. (lightly) and let it hit the ground and show people how tough it was. I was getting a new phone anyways. Unfortunately it got stolen at a concert.

Using the tough jacket, not a fan of keeping the phone outside on my hip..
These cases for the note 4 do have an Achilles heal.. The slim rubber corner where the pen is located. That's where it is weakest. I actually dropped it there and got very little scratches. Was dropped stomach level. Other than that I've dropped it 2 other times. Not one scratch.
Received my first one today:

it DOES have the cutouts for laser focus. I'll post pics later but it looks pretty solid
also have this one on order, should arrive monday:

I already have the second case in blue, it's very nice

i don't know man i buy this moko case every year expecting the worst and it always manages to impress me. pretty damn good case. also works great with the skintomi tempered glass screen protector. as an added bonus, the cutout for the fingerprint sensor is very large. doesn't interfere at all

That is what I ordered. It should arrive tomorrow. I'm a fan of the TGSP/Skin combo so a universal case like this is my preference. I find those combo cases too bulky for my small hands.

I am a long time Otterbox Defender user, but am considering the LK and MOKO cases you listed. I also am really interested in the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro. There is this I-Blason Prime Series as well. Also Seidio say they are working a case, but have not said what model.
I ordered this Story Leather Belt Clip Holster when I need something stylish and use the phone bare or with a simple skin. Now if it would only get here after 2 shipping delays.

the i-blason is just about identical to the moko, but the one for the nexus 6 last year used a plastic that i found to be VERY slippery in my hand. i tried it for about 2 weeks and didn't like the feel at all. the supcase is interesting, but i don't need an integrated screen protector. would rather use a nice tempered glass solution
one addendum to the moko (and i-blason) that i forgot to mention earlier...it still has this design issue where it's made for left-handed people. the phone attaches to the belt clip in the opposite way that a right handed person would use it. it's definitely not a show stopper, but it's annoying. i'll use it for the next couple of weeks and report back, but aside from this it's quite solid so far

I really like the Supcase but too bad it has a built in screen protector. Hate those things.
^^^
Just punch the built in one out and use a TGSP. That's what I do. Perfect.

I got this one for now, emergency purchase. It is terrible. REALLY bad. The kickstand isn't bad, but only 2 corners are protected by hard material. Hard to get in and out, and worse, as far as I can see you can't push the volume buttons because it is flush with the hard plastic they made the holes in.
---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ----------
BTW, the iBlason Prime looks much better, and a clip holster instead of a slide one too. Very nice. Just wish it came in other than black.
---------- Post added at 10:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 AM ----------
And double wow, just saw the Moko one in the colors and the volume issue doesn't exist. And a snap in holster? Purchased. This should get me through for now. I'm returning this other one I linked.

Technically it rotates so it can be used vertically or horizontally. Though using it horizontally might be a bit annoying. Horizontal ones are my preference but since this is a big phone a vertical one would be less awkward and feel better for me. I got the case in today. I'll let you know when my phone comes.
after a couple of days with the moko case its...ok. it is 100% absolutely designed for left-handed people, which is annoying. also, it takes quite a concerted effort to both unclip and clip the phone into the case. most of it i'm sure is due to being right-handed, but it's also a function of the fact that the part you insert into the holster first has a pretty tight fit. also, the really soft rubber has quite a bit of give when inserting and removing which is also annoying. feels like they could have used some less compliant rubber here. idk it's ok for now i guess.
i've ordered various normal cases (spigen, ringle, diztronic) as well as the seidio iphone 6 plus holster (new version) to see how it works based on the reddit post. that guy never responded, but from his pics and from looking at the specs of the various items i *think* these cases would fit in the holster fine. my only concern is the part where the spring clip touches the phone. it's going to be very close as to whether it rests on part of the case or on the glass of the phone itself (which would be a no-go for me). we'll see...

Would you happen to have come across what the difference(s) are between the 2 generations of the iPh6+ Surface holsters?
I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Contemplating getting the first gen holster to use with Ringke, then eventually the Crash Guard or Play Proof.

does anyone have the supcase holster combo yet? i'm wondering how soft the rubber is compared with the moko. the moko is way too soft imo. it keeps basically trying to slip off every time i remove the phone from the holster. supcase looks a lot sturdier
also, if anyone's interested, my seidio iphone 6 plus holster is arriving thursday, which corresponds to when both the diztronic and ringle cases are supposed to arrive. so we shall see about that...

Ringke Fusion + iPh6+ Surface v1 holster = no go... at least not that well. The phone is too tall (flipped both ways). The latch is propped open about half way.
Going to test out my buddy's N6 Surface holster in a few days. Failing that, might have to just go with the full 6P Surface solution if they ever come out with it...
that's pretty shocking. isn't the ringle a pretty minimalist case? i don't have much experience with ringle but i would imagine it can't be much taller than the seidio surface case. the nexus 6p is nearly identical to the iphone 6s plus, there's like a 1mm difference in height. hard to imagine this would cause what you're describing. unless...maybe that's what the seidio revision from v1 to v2 was about? to allow for additional height for some reason?

Upon closer inspection, there are 2 "feet" on the bottom/back side of the case, about 1mm thick. This is causing the phone to not hit flush bottom of the holster. About 3-4mm gap from bottom of phone to bottom of holster.
Even if it were to sit flush bottom, it's still 2-3mm too tall.
Width-wise it's a nice fit.

Mine isn't here yet but I have that same case on my lg g3. That is hard stiff rubber and plastic parts. No give.

I have the Seidio N6 Surface holster. I used it with my N6 and the Supcase hybrid for the last year. I tried it with my 6P, and same thing that the 6P is too tall. the hinged latched it also propped open (N6P with the Ringke Fusion and the Supcase Hybrid)
