Covers for audio jack and type-c - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Accessories

Hello, I'm searching for covers for audio jack and type-c ports. As long as I don't use them at all I don't want the dust to get in.
So, first I would like to have some plastic (I suppose) covers (just the covers) to use them with my Samsung Clear View Standing Cover.
Secondly, one case that have the covers.
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks,
Bill

Offhand the Otterbox Commuter is the only case I can think of that has port flaps.

The Zizo ION also has flaps for USB C and headphone jack. Doesn't really show in their amazon pics but it does have them. Was honestly surprised

It's rated for water resistance & even then, don't count on Samsung backing up that claim.
Here's an excerpt from the Samsung US Warranty terms:
https://www.samsung.com/us/Legal/Phone-HSGuide/
What is not covered?
This Standard Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use of the Product.
This Standard Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abnormal use, abnormal conditions, improper storage, exposure to liquid, moisture, dampness, sand or dirt, neglect, or unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical stress; (b) scratches, dents and cosmetic damage, ........................
TLDR:
Count on Samsung not covering repairs due to water intrusion.

Can you use this case without the screen protector, or do they offer an option without it? I like the idea of using a case with covers for the USB-C and headphone ports but not with a built-in screen protector.

Draco just released their HYDRA case for the S4. A non-Ducati branded case will be released next week as well. They look great, but it looks like they add quite a lot of width to the phone.
I ordered the new ElementCase Eclipse case, and if I don't end up liking that I'm going to order one of the Draco cases and give it a shot.

OEM means original equipment manufacturer, the complete opposite of fake. And yes, the fakes are out. But they're also usually really bad quality compared to the real ones.

Wow! Nice bumper with nice price!!! If I have a honda hornet, and is not ducati, I have to look for another bumper? Hahaha
New Airborne cases were released today. I like them much better than the HYDRA ones. And they're a bit cheaper too.

The Hydra cases are beautiful. However, that's a steep price to pay for a case, luxury item or not.
these case are very stunning looking. i just can't see spending that much on a case. there are far to many less expensive alternatives out there.
:good:
Is there a lip on either side? It looks flush is most pics. I was just wondering about lying it down and scratching up the camera cover or the front glass.

Their cases have almost no lay on table rim. They work nicely with glass screen protectors though.
So it makes your phone huge? uhh no thanks
dam almost 100 bucks just for a stinking case? I don't see myself ever shelling more than 50 bucks for a case

I was excited for the case at first, but I watched Youtube review videos and I realized how ugly and huge it is...

My understanding is that this is a bumper so the back is completely exposed (allowing wireless charging and NFC to work completely).

Just got this case from the UK and should be arriving tomorrow

There is no slot for the magnetic charging port, but I plan on trying to make my own hole. Do you guys have suggestions on how to cut out the polycarbonate shell? The rubber part should be easy, but I don't know how I should cut the polycarbonate. Should I heat it up and then try to cut it like that?
Thanks!

My experience with a TPU case (very similar to that case), was about using a soldering iron (like this: http: //csimg.mercamania.es/srv/ES/00001933974/T/340x340/C/FFFFFF/url/6400-soldador-de-estaao-30w.jpg ) to reshape the holes...

Yeah, and it SUCKS! Creates a white flare when taking pictures, a lot of dust gets under the cover and it makes your device bulky. But hey, I hope you might have a better experience with it!
Ow yeah, I forgot to most important one... It prevents the flap over the charging port to close properly about 80% of the time.
One more thing, you can't charge battery with the Sony Magnetic Dock DK32, phone with this case doesn't fit in it.

in the magentic dock you can remove the a part of the base to increase the space on the dock, have you tried that and the phone with the case still doesn't fit?
This was the first idea that I had, but I still doesn't fit - I'm talking about the case that LotoTutu called hard case for Z1 compact. There is a slot for magnetic charging dock, but the device in it is still too bulky, and I can't use the dock.

i bought this case about a month ago, and got it replaced couple days ago due to the plastic back is full of bubbles inside. at first i thought it was dirt but gave a wipe and nothing came off. I emailed the company and they said it is not normal, so that sample might be defected. Got it replaced at the shop and i will see how it last this time. Thanks god i didnt chuck the receipt away, never thought it would happen something like that. Let us know how yours going later?

It fits good on the port on the phone ( unlike the majority of chargers) and it has a fairly strong magnet. I've got mine for around 5$ from ebay.

Don't bother
I've tried a couple of the MicroUSB adapters from AliExpress/eBay and I wouldn't bother again. They are difficult to connect/lineup in the dark, and the magnets aren't strong enough to keep the cable attached if there is any tension on the cable at all. Mine connects in the hand, but as soon as I put the phone down they fall off. You would need a very very thin and flexible cable for these to be practical.
I think almost all are like that.
I've had 3 magnetic chargers from ebay. Out of the 3 , the strongest one and the one that lines up easiest is the one from the picture I posted in the 2nd post.
the magnector x ones are very strong and very well reviewed on the whole, although one or two are claiming that the magnetic ports have been ripped out of the phone, and sony are refusing to recognise it as a manufacturing issue - I have both magnector adapters, although I've since switched to a more generic tube shaped third party product, which is more fiddly to connect but which potentially puts less strain on the socket - aim for a compromise, and they're not all crap

I got my Magnector X delivered today and it fits really well. I find it hard to believe the magnet pulled out any part of the port, the magnet isn't really that strong. If for any reason it did damage it, though, after reading what you said (cheers), I wouldn't even mention I used it and would demand for my phone to be fixed under warranty.
Edit: Since posting this I have read the other thread where the ports have became lose and pulled out. I didn't realise it was a separate part that slots into the side.

[REVIEW] iCarer Leather Folio Case

I had one of these for my M7 and loved it, so I wanted to get one for my M9. These are made of genuine good-quality leather and the construction is pretty solid. My M7 case is showing very little wear after a year of use.
The only drawback is that, as far as I've been able to tell, these are not available from retailers outside of China, so you have to order and wait. I got mine from ipromarket and it took about three weeks from order to receipt.
There are two styles/colors, red-brown and black.

The liner is made from TPU leather.
There is room for 2-3 IDs or credit cards in the slot without affecting the bulk. The cover is held closed with a small magnet , though not tightly (this is good; you don't want a strong magnet lest it damage your credit cards).
The phone fits snugly in the case, and in my experience with my M7, protection is good. I've dropped it a few times with no damage to either the phone or the case.
It does slightly obstruct access to the power button on the side, however.
Access to the microUSB port and headphone jack is unobstructed.
All in all, for ~$25, this is a great value for a leather folio case.
Update: This is not a smart case, but modding it to be one is not challenging. I didn't take any pictures of the process, but it's pretty straightforward. You just need a slim battery to slide inside the cover. I used two 5/16" x 1/32" N52 disc magnets from K&J Magnetics.
What I did was use a razor blade to slice the cover open at the backseam along the "hinge" and peel it back far enough to insert the magnet. The interior of the cover has a flexible plastic frame that you need to carve out a recess for the magnet into. I took my time with this to avoid cutting into the leather. Then I glued the cover back together.
You can see here where the magnet should go (the little circle just below and to the right of the logo on the inside of the cover ). The only reason you can see anything is that I initially tried gluing the magnet in that spot, then decided I didn't like that approach.
You do need to have Dot View enabled for the smart cover function to work. I initially had it disabled and had an extremely frustrating time trying to figure out where the magnet needed to be.
Thank bro, Nice review

Psst - Hey skin manufacturers, a little suggestion?

Since nobody is pushing product into our "protection that doesn't disable significant device features" space, here's a freebie for ya. When making skins, how about an option to have a nice cutout for the wireless modules to to chatter through? This way we can have a majority of the back protected (and less slippery/fingerprinty) AND use our gimmicky, ultra-low-quality, mostly garbage but still rather expensive snap-on modules?
For my own use, I took a PhantomSkinz screen protector and hacked about 1/6th of it off with a box cutter...but surely a pro could make something more elegant and have something worth selling?
Disclaimer: In case you need a little guidance...I recommend cutting the film BEFORE installation. Do not take a razor blade to the back of your phone. This is why you can't have nice things.

You so funny guy.
I just gave up and put a case on it.
I only used the 360 a couple times any way....
Some of us (me included) had no issues using the 360 camera with either the dbrand or Sopiguard skins. Can't say that'll hold true for future mods.
I ended up just tracing the 360 camera and taking an exacto knife to it.
Looks pretty dumb.
I have a sopiguard one and it was fine at first with the 360 camera. Now it only works about 25% of the time, without it me having to fidget with it to recognize.
That's no worst than the Tudia case with cutouts specifically for the 360 camera mod...
I made a small incision to my body skin and now have the 360 camera working. I'll probably buy a few more to experiment but the wireless data transfer looks like it happens between the two pins so you might not need such a large hole.
I think they should be removable because cutting the lines will ruin that sweet sweet uniform look. Of course it's not possible on those sticker protectors but protective cases could be different thing. Some kind of locking mechanism to that extra piece would rise the price of the case yes, but if you're buying this phone and want to use those accessories - still wanting the protection - you'd be ready to pay from it. Maybe Essential itself could take on this "problem".

The mechanism could just be the pins themselves. A removable back piece that connects directly to those pins would be clutch. I think that's a really great idea.

What skin is that? Looking for a simple clear skin for the back so the phone doesn't slip-n-slide off every surface.

It's from Skinomi and part of the kit that has the screen protector and body protectors. It definitely helps in terms of grip.
