Hi there.
When I'm recording audio or video in apps like whatsapp, telegram or snapchat, the sound is rumbled and distorted. This mainly happens when there is loud music playing with a lot of bass. However, the microphone quality in the default camera app sounds fine.
Why is this? It looks like these apps use the wrong microphone or something. Maybe this is a bug in EMUI?
Hope someone could help me. I've attached an example video of the sound quality when filming with whatsapp. (Click link, I can't upload videos to this site)
-- Ugh. I can't embed a link for some reason.

There are plenty of voice recording apps and a few apps that seem to be able to record phone calls. What I am looking for, though, is an app that will record whatever audio you're playing on your phone without recording your own voice or whatever. Like if I'm playing a radio app, is there a way to record that with a specific app? I know some radio apps have that feature built in, but I'm just trying to record any audio into an mp3 or something through an app. Having a hard time finding this specific type of app.
Here are some apps that I think which can help you:
Voice Memos
Voice Recorder
Audio Recorder
Just Press Record
iTalk Recorder Premium

The post that you answered is from 7 years ago, your reply isn't going to help them now.

Since I upgraded to version 4.4.4, I found that the sound quality of my audio recordings has worsened. Until recently, I had version 4.3 and my voice recordings were clear and they had good quality. I have replaced the version 4.3 system file "SoundRecorder.apk", but voice recordings sound just as bad.
Could anyone help me?

Try with Sony Audio Recorder ( search for it in the market).
It's a very good recorder, although it records only in AAC. Give it a try and see if it's rom issue or smth else
Similar threads are ages old. YouTube is supposed to support background and screen-off playback now, at least for official music videos, but it doesn't for me (I'm also an All Access subscriber which makes it doubly odd). As soon as I hit the multitask button or turn the display off, playback stops.
So ya, now that Pvstar+ is gone, what's the best app for YouTube video downloading and background audio (audio for normal videos, I don't care about music, I can do that in the google music app)? Preferably one that let's you select the quality to download.
Tubemate is the best option IMHO

Its not on the play store, do you know where to get the most current apk?
OK I got it, but same problem as the regular YouTube app. Says background playback is a feature, but playback stops if I multitask or turn the screen off.

check in settings if off screen playback set up to work with external sources only
There is one exposed module available which enables background playback.http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.youtubebackgroundplayback

thanks for the best ever video playing app
i want to suggest a feature for mx player.
users who has good quality headphones or the ones who doesnt really care much about sound while playing video songs or mp3 in mx dont need this feature but some users really like to customize sound system including me.
i request mx developers that please add sound enhancement features like plugins (am3d,bongivi dps etc), equalizer etc. in audio settings.

Equalizer, pc support and thanks.
...fans all over the world(Kenyan).
Thanks for the input and detail, I've been using the app since '15.
That equalizer would be the only thing that would make the app lethal.
Wish there was pc support too, preferably linux.
Cheers!
Good morning guys,
I would like to report a problem which is not ROM related or GApps package related. Basically, when I play some YouTube videos using my OPO they results in a distorted audio via loudspeaker. This does not happens with every video I try to play. It happens only if I watch those videos with my OPO. If i try to play the very same videos from PC or from my android tablet the problems does not occur. Moreover, if I play the same video with my OPO and I use my headphones, the audio is completely clear, like how it should be. And the same problem does not occur on my OPO if I use every other app (spotify, blackplayer, poweramp etc) both with loudspeaker or earphones.
Additional info: Im on TWRP custom recovery (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-3-k1-t3563692) carbonrom latest release rooted with magisk. No audio modifications/tweaks applied to my system. I do not know when this problem happened. I used to watch those videos without any issue few monthes ago. I tried both clean/dirty flash again my rom, flashing other roms and other gapps packages. I also cleaned YouTube cache app. I searched thoughout the forum and the internet but I could not find any solution.
Any idea?
