Yesterday I’ve tried several attempts installing the global rom via adb but no matter many adb commands to unlock bootloader simple failed.
That’s the base issue with Nex.
I’ve tried also using QFIL tool but doesn’t recognized the phone when connect through USB port saying all time no port available.
I’ve tried 2 different laptop with Windows 10 and different USB port but neither that helped the situation.
Even Reinstalled Qualcomm drivers also and nothing worked.
So if anyone tried a successful workaround of installing global rom on Chinese version share its experience and steps followed.

There's a settings in Developer Options> OEM Unlocking - Allow the bootlooder to be unlocked. See if that's related.

I check all fastboot unlocks commands, with OEM unlocking in developers, and nothing. With modified fastboot, fastboot bbk unlock_vivo, and others dont work

Does not work either.
Spend many hours searching and testing several ways and nothing work.
Vivo seems made imposible modifying Vivo Nex.
As you get it you married it without any other option.

Did you tried via QFIL tool??
There's below workaround but could not get it work as QFIL not recognizing my device via usb port.
There is an xml files and firehose flash programmer for use with QFIL.
Download the latest version 2.0.0.5 https://androidmtk.com/download-qualcomm-flash-image-loader-qfil and install it and the usb drivers. To connect your phone to QFIL turn off the phone, start QFIL, press and hold volume down button on the phone while plug it in into usb port. When QFIL detects the com-port, release volume down key.
Press "load xml" and select rawprogram0.xml and patch0.xml files from downloaded rom, then select a programmer - click "browse" on the right of "select programmer" window and select prog_firehose_ddr.elf file from downloaded rom. Then click "download" button. If all is ok - flashing process starts.

Im thinking that its impossible unlock bootloader right now:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/how-to-unlock-bootloader-vivo-phones-t3686690
Try to use special fastboot version from my first post. It was compiled by vivo and it can unlock bootloader in xplay and v3. using a command "fastboot bbk unlock_vivo" Maybe it can help to unlock nex?
For use with QFIL - load xml files "rawprogram0.xml" and "patch0.xml" Then load a programmer "prog_firehose_ddr.elf" Click "Download" to start flashing. This way no need to unlock bootloader. To enter EDL for connecting to QFIL try this modified version of fastboot and a command "fastboot reboot-edl" https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UclkW64ScwPtnjCGAyYzpbeLST1VDPrv/view
Yes, I try with this and with another version, but nothing.
So the only truly alternative option remaining, is flashing by QFIL as I understand.:fingers-crossed:
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Try using QFIL. Install Qualcomm USB drivers first. If it does not reboots edl using fastboot_edl.exe from above, try power off, then holding v- or v+ buttons while connecting to usb.

Dont work, I cant enter edl mode:
- fastboot reboot-edl, dont work
- fastboot reboot edl, dont work
- adb reboot-edl, dont work
- adb reboot edl, work but reboot into system
- Pressing vol- and USB nothing happens
- Pressing vol+ and USN enter bootloader mode, but QFIL dont detect any port
- adb reboot bootloader work
Something else?
Finally - seems it can to be loaded using AFT. Get AFT 5.1.1 and video how to start and load here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tmcu0G0yJC98FlglKAxSTADs9MLK9IY1/view
Before running AFT - install vivo usb driver(from Driver folder of AFT bundle)
adb.exe from AFT bundle can recognize "adb reboot edl" command. So you can use it to enter 9008 mode.

YOU WILL NEED
1-ADB drivers http://click.xda-developers.com/api...elopment and Hacking | XDA Forums&txt=Dropbox
Here is a Tutorial Video to install it correctly
https://youtu.be/LbAq6d2Du0U
2-China developer ROM (choose Redmi 4 Prime Latest China Developer Version Fastboot File Download)http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
3-MiFlash http://xiaomitips.com/download-in-progress/?dlm-dp-dl=1474
4-Redmi 4 Mi Flash Setup.msi.
FLASHING CHINA DEVELOPER ROM ON YOUR XIAOMI
1-First of all you must enable USB debug and OEM unlock on your device.
2-Then unzip Global ROM (the file .tgz) and keep the folder on the desktop.
3-If you did install the adb drivers there should be a folder in this path C:\adb open it and press SHIFT+right mouse click in an empty space then select the option to open with command line.
After that, windows CMD should open.
4- Plug the mobile (do not turn it off) with the usb cable and on CMD write:
adb devices
Click to collapse
Doing this you will check if the device has been recognized (probably it would be "offline" on the first attempt, don't worry). Once the command is given it should appear on your mobile a message, press "always allow".
Then insert the instruction again.
5-Then write on CMD:
adb reboot edl
Click to collapse
The mobile should now restart in a black screen, keep it plugged in.
6-Drag the MiFlashSetup.msi to the Mi Phone (2) file
https://mega.nz/#!vYQ1BYSJ!PG7Q-vxPKftcS2UX7YnDnrIyD-yGCuguvq8j6HHdLoI
check "Flash All" and then go to "browser".
Now select the unpacked folder from the .tgz file. Once everything is done, click on "refresh" and you should see the number (COM) in which the device is connected.
Click on "Flash". Flashing should take a few minutes.
Once Flashing is done, unplagged the device and reboot it.
The first boot should take more than normal.
Now with this ROM you can unlock your device following this Guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/xiaomi-redmi-4-prime-pro-unlock-t3519811l
If this was helpful, hit the THANKS button.

I tried to put the following command "adb reboot edl" but it doesn't show a black screen. After a restart it just boots up straight to home screen. I also tried "fastboot oem edl" on fastboot, after i put the command, it only shows Failed Oem Lock. Note that my OEM unlock is tick on under Developer Options. Yes, i already did it before when i flashed China Developer Rom going from Global Rom, no any issues at all.
But once i try to get back from China Developer to Global, i now face these issues. it seems China Developer requires Unlocked Bootloader to be able to flash back into Global, but as i've said my Bootloader is still locked(MiUnlocker still stuck at 50% verifying).

Bricked Device but has unlocked bootloader and having access to Fastboot Mode
Before doing the process, make sure you have to remove your SdCard and having sufficient battery power to ensure that the process won't be interrupted and to prevent higher chances to hard bricked your device (Dead)
Requirements:
Accessible Fastboot

Bricked Device but has locked bootloader, you applied for unlocking, and have access to Fastboot Mode
There might be a chance. If you applied for unlocking the bootloader, you can still unlock the bootloader by downloading the Mi Unlock Tool on their website https://en.miui.com/unlock/ and boot to fastboot mode and follow the steps provided on their website.
Bricked Device but has locked bootloader, you didn't apply for unlocking, and having access to Fastboot Mode
Your Device is HARD BRICKED. You cannot Flash your phone with a locked bootloader, if you cannot reboot or your device has bootloop after an OTA update, sideload, etc. you should bring your device via the nearest Xiaomi Service Center for further analysis.
You could do the flashing by using EDL Cable (Deep Flash Cable). Or by Testpoints to access EDL with locked bootloader. Find a guide anywhere in XDA or in YouTube.

EDL or download mode term is used for samsung devices (uses ODIN). They are alike as fastboot mode (uses flasher e.g MI Flash tool, MTK flasher, qualcomm flasher, etc.)
Edl flashing means using a edl flash cable or hardware test points. It allows to unbrick a corrupted bootloader .

Going to edit my post since that someone confuses about EDL and Fastboot.
And yes, only Xiaomi has access to EDL Mode (Emergency Download Mode) to force flash system images or firmware because they are the OEM of the device. Only Fastboot that can user be accessed but it requires an unlocked bootloader.
Theoretically as an user, you can access EDL Mode but it requires such tools and knowledge.

Wanna thank you for this post first. However I was unable to run the latest MiFlash due the error as seen on screenshot. (Windows 10)
No matter what I was trying to do, MiFlash was still asking to install drivers (including Nvidia drivers, wtf?)
USB drivers were installed correctly as I could see connected device with installed drivers and fastboot devices have also worked fine. I have done several reboots, windows test mode, but without success...
If anybody else is having same issue, I was able to use probably very old version of MiFlash to successfully flash fastboot MIUI image.

Check it on "Device Manager" while the device is connected with fastboot mode on.
Hello,
I have MIX 3 Chinese version, unlocked bootloader, flashed latest global. Fine
For security purposes, tried to lock bootloader with fastboot - I knew it may be risky- now the device is in Mi recovery 3, refused to reboot even after erase data.
How to bring it back to life.
Thanks
Use the XiaoMiTool V2.
Google it
Can you enter fastboot mode?, If yes use mi flash and flash original chinese rom.

Fastboot is fairly simple. Download the latest Chinese from from miui.com, unzip it, connect your device in fastboot mode, and run the flash_all.bat file. It will take a while and the command prompt window will close when it is finished and your device will reboot.

I am downloading the ROM.
Please can provide step by step instructions?
My understanding is to:
1. copy the rom in minimal fastboot directory
2. unzip all files in that same directory (or should I create new one?)
3. Execute the command below:
fastboot flash_all.bat
By the way, can I use fastboot with locked bootloader?
Thanks again

If you have ADB installed system wide, then it doesn't matter where you unzip the full image to. The best way to have ADB installed system wide is through this method.
You don't need to type anything. Just open the folder the ROM was decompressed in, right click the flash_all.bat, and run it as administrator with your device connected in fastboot mode. It will literally do everything else.

Did you install ADB 1.4.3 from the thread linked to? Do you have your device connected to a USB 3 port or USB 2 port? Are you using the cable that came with your device to flash it? Were you booted into the bootloader when trying to flash?
Edit: Read that post wrong. You need to download the fastboot version. You can't flash the TWRP image using fastboot.

Won't be possible with the Mi unlock software as the phones been wiped - no account, no OEM allowed ticked etc.
in that case, your only hope is: sending it back to china

In UK. Gray import. I really don't understand why a manufacturer should let this be possible. Why not just make it unlockable with global rom? This will avoid such unwanted situation for everybody. Pissed off by Xiaomi
Hi everyone!!
IMPORTANT:NEVER SELECT ERASE OR FORMAT PARTITIONS IN LGUP. IT WILL MESS WITH YOUR IMEI
Im making a new guide to unlock your bootloader/root your device. Its easier to do a little bit risker but if you do it slowly you wont mess up your phone and in the event you do you can always recover it. Remember to FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS or you may end up messing up your phone, The best thing is, you dont need to downgrade to even unlock the bootloader!!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR PHONE BRICKS! YOU ARE FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE AND ITS YOUR CHOICE TO DO IT OR NOT TO DO IT AND YOURE THE ONE DOING IT. I JUST WANT TO HELP OTHERS OUT.
If you cant for some reason access fastboot even flashing the v35 file, use this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/verizon-lg-g710vm20f-t4057031 it says verizon but i think most of the models of the g7 cant acess fastboot so you can try this.
Requirments:
-A PC
-USB Cable to connect your phone of course
- V35 ABL
--The LG FIrehose file
- QPST/QFIL
-9008 drivers FOLLOW THIS GUIDE!! To install drivers properly IF WINDOWS DOESNT INSTALL THEM AUTOMATICALLY!!
-ADB PLATFORM or someway to access fastboot via cmd
-PATIENCE!!
Steps.
Download the V35 abl,LG Fire house file, download and install qppst and install the 9008 drivers (WUNDOWS 10 should automatically do it for you) If not, download it and install them.
Boot into edl mode via connecting your phone to the pc then turning it off. Hold Vo- and power and keep pushing the vol+ button multiple times when it turns off.
Go into device manager and check if its detected. to check open up device manager and check Ports and it should say Some port 9009 Qualcomm or something like that (IF theres a question mark, exclamation mark or it says qhusb bulk even after you install the drivers, make sure you disable driver signature enforcment on windows and install the drivers again. Theres multiple ways to do it just google on how to disable driver signature enforcment windows 10. Same with windows 7/8,)
Run as administrator qfil and select flat build,.
--Programmer Type: Load the firehose file
-- On the top go to configuration and where it says Device type, make sure you change it to ufs.
-- Click ok to save and exit
At this point qfil should be detecting your port . If not there should be a select port button next to it on top.
Go to Tools then Partition Manager
A window should pop up with all the partitions. If you get a shara failed error, make sure your drivers are installed correctly and try rebooting into edl again once more. To do that just hold vol - and power until the lg logo comes up and then keep holding vol - and power again and once it turns off again just do the edl combination again.
Search for abl_a and right click on it. First do Read Data, it should take only a couple of seconds Then Load Image and load the v35 image. It should say GPT Finished or something like that at the log with no errors.
Reboot holding volume - and power for like 20-30 seconds until the lg logo comes up Then hold the down button to boot into fastboot or it will automatically boot into fastboot depending on what version of android you are on.
Open the folder where your adb tools are, then hold shift +Right Click in the folder and open powershell. Type and enter CMD
Enter: Fastboot oem unlock it should output with OKAY, If it gives you unknown command, try a USB 2.0 port and then turn off your phone and while its booting up enter the command before you boot into fastboot. Once thats done dont close the window yet!!
Once thats done you can now restore your other abl so you can boot back into android. To do that run %appdata% in the search bar or in the run window by holding the windows button and pressing the R button. Then you should be in C:\Users\{YOUR USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming
Open up the Qualcomm folder --> QFIL --> COMPORT#
There should be a ReadData Blah blah.bin in there. Drag and drop that in the folder where your adb tools are
then go back to the window i told you not to close (The powershell/cmd window) then do fastboot flash abl_a (The file name with ReadData) without the ( ).
Now you can turn off the phone vial holding volume - and power and then reboot into android!! You should get a bootloader unlocked or a cannot be checked for courrption message! Congrats your bootloader is unlocked!!
To root: Just back up your boot image via and then find it in %Appdata% put it in your phone then use magisk manager to patch the boot file and then take that boot file and then flash it to boot_a via edl.
I tried my best to write this guide and sorry for my grammatical mistakes. Ill be helping people unlock/root their bootloaders for free during this covid time as well. If you want to donate you can always tell me but its not necessary.
Ill try making a video as soon as i can.

Yes and no. Yes it will unlock the bootloader but the problem with verizon there is no fastboot unless you erase the laf imgs.
Which is why in my guide I use the crossflashed ULM11g it has fastboot and the oem unlock enable button which makes it easier to issue the "fastboot oem unlock" command.
Give it a try and if your not good at doing this with qfil will brick your device. If you run into issues try my guide.

Hey op or whomever can help point me in the right direction: when looking at used/refurbished g7's which models should I ask sellers about or steer away from like the LMG710R (I know the LMG710TM is a no go, what about the Sprint unlocked for GSM and what's there code if I want to avoid them?)?

Once the bootloader is unlocked with this method DRM is lost forever. Even relocking the bootloader will not bring Widewine certification to L1. I am back to stock with locked bootloader. Widewine is at L3.

Hi guys,
so after I got my xiaomi with a global ROM and wanted to update and that is when I accidentally relocked the bootloader. The version of ROM was invalid apparently and wouldn't let me boot and now I'm stuck in fastboot mode.
My problem is as follows:
-can't enter recovery, stuck at fastboot no matter how many times I try and reboot
-adb not working since I didn't enable it
-bootloader locked (miflash says so and it can't unlock it since I didn't check 'oem unlock enable' and I cannot boot ROM so I can't enable it)
-fastboot flashing says 'not allowed in lock state'
-edl mode not available
I've seen tutorials where people opened their phones to force the phone into edl mode via the testing points but is that the only way`?
Any suggestions on how I could unbrick it?
Much appreciated
yes, it is the only way.

I know this is a late reply, but I was in a similar situation with my phone and here is how I dealt with it: You need to access EDL mode, it doesn't require disassembling the device like the other user here suggested. Here is a thread you can find several variations of fixes here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/xiaomi-12-pro-completely-bricked-dead.4422997/
If anyone needs help with a locked bootloader bootlooped phone and doesn't know what to do I can help for a fee.

Hello, My Poco X3 System destroyed itself while I was using it, it showed a glitch screen and turned off. Now I went to flash my mobile through Miflash but it showed the bootloader is locked and now I can't unlock it as the system itself is destroyed and can't do anything. Please me help bro
flashing is possible with modified firehose programmer (no auth factory loader) or with authorized xiaomi account. both solutions are paid service and cannot advertised here.
please -as always- read the thread you posted in. I can see useful information shared already. wait for other replies.

To install a recovery, the bootloader must be unlocked.
