Hi all,
When I've installed lineage or treble ROMs I've always installed the p20 pro port, but the gallery missing is a ballache.
Was just having a tinker and found that there is a little glitch that can be used to get the gallery to come up on lineage / treble based ROMs that are using the P20 Pro camera port, this isn't a fix but it's definitely better than switching apps.
Firstly install either Lineage or wait for a treble based ROM to have the updated script which fixes the random reboots then visit and install the port of the P20 Pro camera from here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...uawei-p20-pro-camera-app-treble-roms-t3798767
Workaround
-------------------
1. Install a gallery application you would like to use
This is the one I used
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery
*Note* any gallery application will work, even photos.
2. Open the P20 Pro camera application
3. Take a picture.
4. Click the circular preview of the photo you just took.
*Note* - the screen will go black and will usually fail at this point.
5. Swipe to recents whilst it's trying to open the gallery then click back onto camera / gallery and it'll show you the choices for your gallery, make your choice.
6. Do this process again and then select your gallery app and then click Always.
That's it.
Working
---------------
Landscape - if you take a pic and open up the gallery from the shortcut in the camera whilst you're in landscape mode ie: sideways the gallery will open as expected.
Not working
--------------------
Portrait - opening the gallery app whilst in portrait mode will cause the original problem to occur, to get around this simply switch to recents then click back on camera or gallery and it'll open gallery as expected.
To do
---------
Have got the Huawei gallery apk but can't install it, it would work using the above if I could get it to install..
Not sure if this was common knowledge or not but I didn't know so for those of you who didn't....
Enjoy
Hi, i accidentally uninstalled Gallery via adb. How to get back the original Gallery apk. Tq

Is there a possibility to enter my gallery directly out of the stock camera or do I always have to quit the camera and enter the gallery manually? I only have the chance to view a taken picture for about 2 seconds... Maybe it is possible to conform this? My OnePlus One is rooted and I know how to flash zips so I'm thankful for every solution. If this isn't the problem it would be great if I could set my own Gallery (QuickPic).
Thanks
Yo can view pictures just by swipping to the left on the camera screen !

Will testing soon ???
Tested this on AOSiP ROM.Most of the things works well, but there are some bugs
1.slow mo doesn't work
2.very slow(3-5 s). Time to change between portrait and photo mode and also from back to front camera
Overall it's the best miui camera port that I have come across. I jumped to Aosp ROM as soon as this camera is ported
@carlosggb
Tested it out in AOSiP. Camera quality is good, portrait mode works great, same as stock camera.
Bugs I could find so far:-
1. As stated above by @Subhashis Switching from portrait to normal mode and front to back camera or vice versa lags like hell, takes 3 - 4 seconds.
2. FP Shutter doesn't work.
3. No auto HDR is available.
4. AI Mode is not working (I don't think it is gonna work anyway).
5. Even 1080p video doesn't have any stabilization.
6. Clicking on slow-motion crashes the camera app.
7. I don't know what magic mirror does but enabling group selfies does nothing (I know its a MI series features and I don't expect it to work on this phone either).
The lag is main problem in this camera. Otherwise its great. Having FP Shutter and Auto HDR would be convenient though. Thank you so much for your hard work man!
Edit:- Another problem I found after some time that flashing this camera stops Google camera from working, it crashes at launch. After disabling or uninstalling A2 camera form magisk Google camera works fine.
Edit 2:- Well, after disabling the module and making google camera work, re-enableing the module both camera works fine. Its wired or I might be doing something wrong.
Great. Will test it out
Nice work op.
But it force-closes on Liquid Remix 20180727.
Wow nice one
I'll testing soon
good work thanks i will also try to stable it
Clicking a normal picture in photo mode makes my phone go into reboot. Anyone else facing this issue?
Dont work on Pixel rom!

Working. Enable all permission. Reboot ur device then check
Photos taken using portrait mode in both the front and back camera takes years to process (10-15 seconds). While processing the camera is unusable and if you press too many buttons while its stuck, it will force stop.
Only portrait mode working here, anything elks results in phone crashing to black screen and have to reboot.
Edit: I did something and now everything working well
Edit: ok have found the culprit. HDR must be enabled along with AI. If HDR is disabled when AI is active, phone will crash
For camera related apps and mods, I think its a good idea to also state your device model -- Indian RN5pro or Global RN5 when reporting, because there might be some camera module/sensor related problems

Sorry, edited my post, the problem was HDR had to be active when AI is active. Once I realised this I've had no problem. This is so good. Thanks
Doesn't seem to work on Resurrection Remix. App appears as '60' and refuses to open. Still, I'll keep an eye, this port is promising
Greetings, as mentioned above, I need device, ROM and logs of your issues. Incomplete information WILL BE IGNORED.
THIS IS A FIRST BETA, NEED LOGS TO IMPROVE
FC in AEX. All permission enabled.
Can you try this? change line in /common/system.prop ro.product.device=tissot_sprout to ro.product.device=whyred. and replace /system/etc/device_features/tissot_sprout.xml to whyred.xml found in miui rom and see if it helps.
After the recent Pie update I noticed that there is no more Google Photos link in Camera app. When I open the fresh photo from within the Camera app, it opens in separate editor.
So the question is:
Can I bring back good old Photos to my camera?
P.S. It's not just that link is missing. If I delete the photo from within this weird new editor, it stays in Photos app.

I had the same problem when I removed the oneplus galley app with the 'system app safe remover' app (Root required) from the playstore. Even with a different camera app. Installing OnePlus Gallery again from the playstore didn't solve he problem.
Tried to remove the DCIM folder by renaming it, I restored the uninstallation with 'system app safe remover' but that didn't solve the problem either. Removing all updates for the oneplus gallery app by "uninstalling' the Oneplus Gallery app from the playstore. It removed all updates but didn't solve it either. What it did fix was flashing the same rom without wiping the userdata. after that it worked again.
Hope it will solve your problem too.
Maybe offtopic: Anyone knows how to uninstall the default oneplus gallery app without breaking the link to the DCIM photo's?
ROG Phone Apps Ports - Live Wallpaper + Camera
With the help of @MishaalRahman, I've been working on porting a few interesting apps from the (still upcoming) ROG Phone. These include, the Game Mode Live Wallpaper (for which I've also made a companion app, used to toggle the states of the live wallpaper), and the Asus PixelMaster Camera.
Things I'm very aware of:
- Camera needs polishing and a clear bug bashing.
Usage of the Game Mode Live Wallpaper and it's Companion Controller:
The live wallpaper by default launcher in the 'Off' state. To change it to 'On', you need to download an install an app I've made for the occasion, the ROG Companion Controller.
As soon as you open the app, it'll ask for Root permissions. This is to grant itself the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission. If you don't have Root in your device, the app will greet you with a screen explaining how to proceed and grant the permission in order to work.
Once done, touching on the app icon will toggle the Game Mode Live Wallpaper between it's 2 states, 'Off' and 'On'.
Download Game Mode Live Wallpaper (not modded) Mirror
Download ROG Controller Companion App - ver. 1.1 (needed if you want the above to work!) Mirror
Download Asus Camera Port (ver. 5.0.31.0_180918) Mirror
Download ROG Controller Companion App source code - ver. 1.1

Screenshots?
Tried the camera APK on Poco F1 . It did not work. When the app launches it freezes on the image that is infront of it. It does not give a black screen but freezes. Hope it can be made to work. Since there is lot of difference in gcam app and stock app, this app could also show some improvement in image captured.
A long shot, but is it possible for Gaming Mode on oxygen OS to trigger the companion app for the wallpaper?
Need camera 2 API to work?
Camera is unfortunately crashing on the Pixel XL (1st gen), let me know if there's anything I can do to help out with that. Looks great though! Great work for porting it so fast!
Camera working with LG V30, even the wide angle camera work.
Would be cool if the wallpaper can change automatically depend on day or night
I tried this on my Nokia 1 running project treble 9.0 and it completly mucked up the image, why is that?

You can trigger it with tasker, if you don't mind you can use the profiles I created.
Camera works on oneplus 5t using crdroid pie. No slowmo video
Camera working on LG G3 "vs985", 8.1, RR 6.2 Rom
Works on htc 10 running 8.0 except for slowmo
Rogcontroller app doesn't open at all in poco f1 (miui 10. 8.9.20)it just displays white screen
The ROGPhone Camera port works on ASUS Z010D (Zenfone Max), but it's super resolution, GIF, and time lapse features crashed with error message saying "camera is being used by another application, please close that application first". But it's ok for me. Thanks for your works.
The camera port is working on my Moto G5S Plus running stock android 7.1 (32-Bit). Only automatic and pro modes working (without HDR). Video recording, super resolution mode, GIFs, slowmo and time lapse are not working. Great job, hope to see more features working!
not working in oneplus 6. the viewfinder freezes instantly after opening the app.

Thanks a lot, works a charm.
Camera works on my Redmi 2 on Lineage 8.1 Treble.
However max resolution is limited to 1mp (full resolution is 8mp) and all manual controls except exposure do not work.
Video recording also broken.

The app's functionality is extremely basic - It should display the set up text when no root nor permissions are detected.
What I'm getting the feel of, it detects you have Root yet you denied it, causing the app to try over and over.
Nevertheless, if you grant the application the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission through adb in a PC, that will work.
The command is:
Code:
adb shell pm grant com.linuxct.rogcontroller android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
---
As for the rest of people here sending out feedback of the camera app, thanks. As some asked, yes, it does require Camera2 API.
If you encounter crashes, please provide logs to help debugging it!
Anyone knows how to install the ROG theme on Zenfones? I have Zenfone 5 ZE620KL but Idk how to install the theme that's on zip file
Anyone got Google camera with working portrait mood?
This is not possible yet until some one will work for it...
Till we can only hope for this
There are some ports that nearly work well, but don't worth the try unless you want to have to reinstall the app and reboot your phone every 2 pictures... One works well but has a heavy blue tint, the other is good but make the camera driver crash at nearly every 1 or 2 pictures so you have to reinstall Google Camera app and reboot phone.

Well dont use it...
Once you use it and
1) if directly switch to stock cam, everything including launcher and Ui crashes. No way to get out of it other than force restart... (you will get screen artifacts n thats it)
2) if launch this cam... Take a pic, exit and open stock cam, your stock cam wont load until you restart the device....
TALKING ABOUT HONOR PLAY DEVICES
And overall HDR+ doesnt do crap when compared to HDR mode in stock cam app
