Actually I completely agree with you. It is fairly childish but honestly Note 2 on CM11 this app works better than the currently alternative. Hence my excitement
Missing options
i do have an issue, there's no panorama, and no photo sphere, even tho i have this options on my cm11 camera
Apparently Google is leaning towards "dumbing things down" by removing the more complex capabilities in some of their native apps by making them so simplistic as to literally become "point and shoot," especially with respect to this particular camera app. But when you think about it, the overwhelming majority of smartphone owners want just that: a device that works, that's simple to use, and doesn't require a huge set of menu options to just "point and shoot" and get good/useful results so, I suppose it's a winner in that manner for sure.
Tried it a few times, doesn't seem particularly special or useful over some other camera apps like Focal or others. Doesn't seem to do HDR natively and there's no option to enable it so that relegates this app to "ok, I tried it and then I uninstalled it" status for me.
For me its not better than LG G2 modded cam app.
The issue with me is that the CM11 Camera app gets stuck too often hence this is a great alternative
It is good, the only problem for me is when the flash is on and I tap to focus and than to take a picture theres a lag of about 5 seconds. Anyone have this problem? Also no HDR mod, and my camera have that option.
I'm having FC on settings option, on carbon kitkat in Samsung i9070.
love the lens blur mode. Any more cam apps that have this option?
I like it.
Yes the settings option does FC the app but honestly at this current moment, its better than the default camera app.
actually, the only setting i would change is 16:9 ratio, nothing else.
if some1 knows a shortcut for this...?
Good to know, may need to try this out, with custom roms i found a few the camera app always frooze or crashed

I've tried to change the settings thru the preferences files saved in \\data\data\com.googleCamera\shared_prefs\, but I couldn't change the resolution to the max, only the grid, flash, etc.
I want to change the "photosphere" and the "lens blur" to max resolution.
Any Idea?
let me try
Going to download it now and give a try in my grand i9082
I'll be trying it out on my Galaxy S2 with PACROM 4.4.2
Someone minds uploading it somewhere and sharing the link, I can find it on play store but it says its not available in my country I find that weird as its just a camara application...
Thanks in advance...

Really loving the recommendations to turn the phone sideways when recording video, to push people away from filming the horrors of portrait video.
tested in my droid x. somehow force close when i hit the setup menu.

Hi there,
I've installed the 'Google Camera' app from the Play Store. But it doesn't seem to come with a default gallery, so I only have the HTC Gallery.
Which is fine, except if you take the special pictures the Google Camera can do like Lens Blur or Photosphere. If I want to view a Photosphere I know have to start the camera, click on the 'review pictures' icon and then swipe till I find it.
Isn't there supposed to be a stock gallery or something with it?
How does this work on the latest Nexus devices and / or google-play-edition devices?
If that 'Google Camera' app comes stock on some devices, there must be a proper way to view the pictures you took with it I assume :S.
Hello and good day everyone, these past few days my default camera app can capture up to 13megapixel and today, i just found out that it's stock in 8megapixel. But apparently Droid Info detected my phone having a 13 megapixrl camera resolution, i also download a camera app called camera 360 and it can also capture up to 13megapixel. I also tried to clear data and restore my camera app to default but nothing happens. Is there any way to fix this problem? I just want to use my default camera app, it suits me perfectly. Thankyou very much

Hi,
Could you please tell me your model number?
Its a Cherry Mobile flare s3 a local phone, android 5.1
Hi all,
When I've installed lineage or treble ROMs I've always installed the p20 pro port, but the gallery missing is a ballache.
Was just having a tinker and found that there is a little glitch that can be used to get the gallery to come up on lineage / treble based ROMs that are using the P20 Pro camera port, this isn't a fix but it's definitely better than switching apps.
Firstly install either Lineage or wait for a treble based ROM to have the updated script which fixes the random reboots then visit and install the port of the P20 Pro camera from here.

Workaround
-------------------
1. Install a gallery application you would like to use
This is the one I used
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery
*Note* any gallery application will work, even photos.
2. Open the P20 Pro camera application
3. Take a picture.
4. Click the circular preview of the photo you just took.
*Note* - the screen will go black and will usually fail at this point.
5. Swipe to recents whilst it's trying to open the gallery then click back onto camera / gallery and it'll show you the choices for your gallery, make your choice.
6. Do this process again and then select your gallery app and then click Always.
That's it.
Working
---------------
Landscape - if you take a pic and open up the gallery from the shortcut in the camera whilst you're in landscape mode ie: sideways the gallery will open as expected.
Not working
--------------------
Portrait - opening the gallery app whilst in portrait mode will cause the original problem to occur, to get around this simply switch to recents then click back on camera or gallery and it'll open gallery as expected.
To do
---------
Have got the Huawei gallery apk but can't install it, it would work using the above if I could get it to install..
Not sure if this was common knowledge or not but I didn't know so for those of you who didn't....
Enjoy
Hi, i accidentally uninstalled Gallery via adb. How to get back the original Gallery apk. Tq
