You are in postpaid plan??
I was using Vodafone and had no problems with 5G reception. I switched to ooredoo recently and I rarely receive 5G signal.
I have been using postpaid for some time. This network has been available since yesterday
When I first bought my F2 Pro i had 5G signal on Ooredoo. However, I was fiddling around with the Ooredoo application, and I clicked the "Activate 5G" option, which then notified me that my device isn't 5G compatible, and I haven't been able to get 5G ever since. I contacted Ooredoo regarding this but they were useless, and now I am stuck on 4G.
Is it possible to disable 5G on this device?
Prefer 4g mode

Hi actually I am asking him the same thing if he is receiving the signal or not. Maybe he is receiving LTE signal often disguised as a 5G in statusbar. Because the operator here said they didn't add Poco F2 in their 5G supported device list.

These are the bands supported by the oneplus nord according to gsmarena.com
5G bands 1, 3, 7, 28, 78 - Europe
78 - India
Make sure your carrier is using one of these bands. Some regions use different bands, and a phone made for a region might not work well in another.
Also, are you using dual sim? Because if you are, for Europe atleast when in dual sim mode 5G is disabled until a future firmware update patches things up.
Yes I don't see 5g. I have mobile plan with 5g but I don't we 5g. My provider eses N1 network at the moment. I don't understand why.
OnePlus 8t has the same problem.

OnePlus like other phones have enabled 5G only certain networks. I have list in my blog and also instruction how you can modify your phone modem and enable 5G-support: https://mt-tech.fi/en/modify-oneplus-7-pro-5g-8-and-8-pro-nr-lte-a-band-combos/
As per the excellent guide from @olkitu above, I managed to get my OnePlus Nord to connect to 5G on Telstra (Australia) with pre-paid plan.
Additionally, I was able to get VoLTE and VoWiFi working reliably using this YT guide:
Edit: I'm on OxygenOS 10.5.9 (Android 10)
One question. Do I have to do it each and every time after every Software Update or it is permanent?

Hi,
is there a method in which I can shift or force the Xperia 5 II into the 5G mode, since it is alwaxs in 4G although there is 5G within my network (o2 de) available (on phones of my peers and also stated on the network map)?
Best way would be by settings or so without any flash or a file.
Thanks
It's not probably going there for some reason.
You can check Netmonster app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mroczis.netmonster&hl=en&gl=US
It shows which bands are you currently receiving and it shows presence of 5G NSA.
As far I know, this phone doesn't work in 5G SA mode (at least yet, but I don't think it will happen due all that whitelists that operators have). Because of that you can be in 5G coverage area, but still you won't be able to connect 5G network. Also even if 5G NSA is working, you can't actually force 5G only mode as 5G NSA can't work without LTE network. 5G is also undesirable option as all phone calls are likely using VoLTE, because VoNR is likely not happening with this phone.
In reality it's actually better having 5G off, because battery life is better without it and 5G NSA is only a bit better (mainly for upload, downloads can be actually worse, if your operator uses 5G NSA DSS). Really - 5G is currently mainly marketing scam*, no real benefits from it yet (Unless you want to show off with 5G icon in front of your friends .
*This is actual example of 5G NSA scam by operator. 5G icon is shown, but does it use 5G in reality? No - it's running in 5G NSA mode and see "Odpojeno" with ! in tringle which means that 5G is not used and operator simply block access to it in this area now (And because they uses 5G NSA DSS, I'm not even mad). But yeah, 5G icon is there, so let's show off .

*#*#4636#*#* will give you "Testing' Menu with 'Phone Information' where you can select 'Preferred Network Type'. But don't fiddle with other settings there. Also if 5G is not actually available I don't think selection of preferred mode will have any effect.
I believe NR (New Radio) only will enable 5G where NR/LTE will give you both 5G/LTE.
NR/LTE is set but still not 5G connection... no clue why
The Pixel 2 I purchased for my father stopped working a few days ago, with the 3G shutdown going on. His carrier is Consumer Cellular which uses AT&T towers exclusively. So from what I understand phones on AT&T's network will be required to have VOLTE. I'm a bit confused as to whether or not this phone is indeed capable of using VOLTE. In the settings menu under network type, the only two options shown, are 3G or LTE, and when I pull up the secret menu via the dialer app, it shows this phone is not provisioned for VOLTE. Can that be changed? See attachment, even AT&T's own documentation states that after the 3G shutdown, the Pixel 2 will continue to work on their network. Currently, with the phone set to LTE mode, internet is working at full 4G speeds, but the phone will not dial out or can receive calls. It fails instantly. Now when the phone is put in 3G mode, both incoming and outgoing calls can be made no problem, but internet is much slower. Predicatably the Consumer Celluar agents are clueless, and since were not account holders with AT&T, they won't talk to me. So at this point, we either find a way to get the Pixel 2 working, or I buy him a new phone. He wants to stay with Consumer Cellular. If anyone has any insight, would be greatly appreciated. SO FRUSTRATING!!
thanks

FWIW, I have the exact same issue with my Galaxy S8 on Consumer Cellular. It's on AT&T's list of supported devices but calls fail immediately when on LTE network. Switching to 3G makes calls work for now, but I know that's only a temporary solution. When I put in the IMEI on Consumer Cellular's website, it even says the phone is supported!
We have been very happy with Consumer Cellular in the past, but our experience with this issue has been really frustrating.
We switched to T-Mobile Prepaid and everything worked as soon as we put in the new SIM: VoLTE, WiFi Calling, etc. Goodbye Consumer Cellular I guess.
I got the unlocked version from the google store to use on Mint (T Mobile mvno). It does not connect to UC which I figured it wouldn't considering only the Verizon variant has mmWave. However, I went to the T Mobile store and tested their 6a variant and it did connect to mmWave UC, speed test over 500mbs. So I'm curious if loading the T Mobile rom on an unlocked phone would support it.
I purchased the unlocked version, and I get 5GUC on TMobile. But I don't think that it is mmwave
Ok, I see T-Mobile also refers to their n41 (2.5GHz) 5G as Ultra Capacity

I have the 6a bought from a T-Mobile store (well, mailed from T-Mobile as they didn't have sage in stock). I see 5GUC in some places in Ann Arbor, but don't see DL speeds over about 150....
Out in the wild, I never see over 150 either. However, in the T-Mobile store, I get UC and over 400. I have a theory they have one of those personal cell things in the store. I'm in the Cleveland area. I turn off 5G for the most part, it keeps the phone cooler and helps with battery life.
I'm betting that the 5G UC symbol is for native T-Mobile, not MVNOs. If you see Mint Mobile in your indicator, it just says "5G".
I believe only Verizon shows "Verizon" even if a MVNO is used. Most carriers show the MVNO name if one is used, and avoid the branded indicators.
You are right. Even though the band is the same, only the T-Mobile sim displays UC. Found a good video explaining the differences.
I have 2 questions related to T-Mobile and Google purchased phone. I am on T-Mobile and have the default build.
1. Is there anything to be gained or loss by flashing the newer T-Mobile B1 build vs default B1 build?
2. Does flashing to T-Mobile B1 build exclude me from the Android 13 Beta program?
