HDMI through dongle - Vivo Nex Questions & Answers

Yo guys ive got the chinese version of the vivo nex s - i tried to connect it to my TV with a HDMI dongle. Didnt work. Didnt find a setting to configure it... can you help me with that? OTG was enabled.

Don't know about the HDMI but you can connect it via WiFi by enabling WLAN display found in settings. And when using an app that can be viewed on your phone in landscape mode, it'll also show on TV in landscape mode.

Vivo to HDMI not working
I have the international version and can confirm that connecting the Vivo to my TV using HDMI doesn't work. Same dongle, cable, TV connected to a Samsung Note or MacBook works fine. The Vivo is not detected and doesn't project. Not sure if this is hardware related or just a software problem.

USB OTG?

Hi guys, should have my P8max tomorrow, was just wondering if any of you guys had tested USB OTG with it? If it can't do USB audio out then that's going to be a major problem for me (if it doesn't support it natively that's OK, providing an app like USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music Player works). Generally anything that has OTG support will work with those apps, so should be fine, but always nice to have confirmation - don't suppose anyone here has tested it out? Any other feedback about USB OTG welcome.
i tested internet via usb otg. It's not working bec. google has disabled usb otg on android 4.4 and higher. why? i don't know. it's stupid google decision.
internet via usb can be enabled but:
1. it's need root
2. it's always need wifi or fake wifi connection
3. stupid google
USB OTG drives work for me, the DACs I have also work, although they need USB Audio Player PRO or Hiby Music to function. Only phone I've tried with functional USB ethernet via OTG was the ASUS Padfone Infinity, and even there I suspect it only worked because the drivers were intended for use in tablet mode.

Use the mirroring, Multi-Screen option from the drop down menu to connect wirelessly to your Wi-Fi TV.
I had success on connection to my Samsung with Miracast. I took 2 - 4 attempts then it connected fine.
It transmitted video and sound via 5 MHz WLAN to TV. But the quality of speed seems to be not good enough. I had drops in video but on sound.
I tried the same with my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 which worked well on Windows 8.1. Now on Windows 10 I get no connection at all.
So I have no alternative.
Did anyone ever succeed in connecting to TV via micro USB to HDMI cable? I'm going to be traveling soon and would like to connect it to my hotel TV so I wanted to know if I should go and buy the cable or not,
Thx

Screencast from P9 Lite to Samsung SMART TV, hdmi possible?

Hi guys,
I wanna ask u about HDMI/MHL support on P9 Lite. I need to stream from my phone to Samsung TV. Im missing audio when using wireless screenmirroring. Thanks for your answers.
Use a Google chrome cast is the easiest option but I don't think it does support an microphone usb to HDMI but their cheep converters so it's worth a try if you got the cash

I use mirrorshare(stock) to connect to my Samsung smart TV no problem. Everything works
Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
Hi
I have a P9 lite with mirror share but when I start searching my smart tv it don't find them
I have a JVC TV on which I used to connect without effort. Now the TV suddenly asks for a password and my phone wont connect anymore. TV says security pass successful but the phone says connection failed.
If you already have smart TV, there is stock feature in rom with cast from WIFI :?:

Huawei Desktop mode on Samsung Dex

Hi, has anyone tried to make Huawei Desktop mode to work with Samsung DeX station? I needed a USB hub to hock up my keyboard and mouse along with my TV via HDMI.
And I happen to have the DeX station for my work phone, Samsung S8+.
BTW, does anyone know how to make Huawei Desktop mode to work with Windows laptop like the way Samsung DeX for pc works?
Huawei Desktop Mode works fine from the P40 Pro via from USB-C hub (with HDMI, ethernet, USB ports) to my monitor 2560x1440
Unfortunately there are no resolution settings with the Huawei Desktop .. but there are resolution settings with Dex
I do not have a Dex Station to test.
I am not sure about Huawei Desktop on a laptop.

Thanks for your feedback, I may get myself a USB-C Hub to try it out then. Any recommendation?
BTW, I did try out my P40 Pro on the DeX, and it worked albeit not 100% perfect. The sound output to TV was muffed to a tiny volume by default. By toggling it between Auto and Mobile phone to Display device mode managed to bring back the volume to normal.
Here's a few screen shots while testing it:

I would research on amazon and find a USB-C hub that supports Dex .. then you should be ok for it to work with Huawei Desktop Mode.
I bought x3 and luckily x1 was successful.
is their any way that we can extract the dex mode apk from huawei?? i am sure it will also work on my phone if it one out so can y guys see for any apps which u may think is responsible for dex mode experience on huawei phone, u can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.olalab.appbackup this app to take backup of that app and share...

Can you use an old phone with cracked screen as a webcam ?

Hi, I've found my old Xiaomi Redmi 4A with a cracked screen, we cannot see anything, it was on a custom rom, so I do have TWRP installed, I don't know if I have root on it. And, I would know if that would be possible to use the phone as a computer webcam ?
Maybe when we are in twrp we can do something ?
Yes you can. If you already have approved your PC for USB debugging, you can mirror the screen using scrcpy. If you want to use your phone as a webcam, you can either download DroidCam or IP Webcam. Either supports wireless or wired connection
Cool ! Thanks for this fast answer !!
