Xperia M2 D2303 - Sony splash screen, boot looping. - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
My son has a Sony Xperia M2 D2303, which appears to have carried out a firmware update, although he hadn't seen any messages relating to updates.
He said the phone was just running slow and rebooting.
By the time I got to see it, it was just showing "optimisation application # of #". This then finished and went through the First-time boot-up sequence, which didn't seem to complete, but now, all I get is the following:
Plugging in the USB lead to the computer, the Sony splash screen is displayed, the red LED lit and the battery charge graphic, now showing 81%.
Switching on the phone, just gets the Sony splash screen, boot looping.
I seem to be getting the expected behaviour with the use of the buttons on boot-up, but nothing else:
Power button pressed and holding volume - and +, as well as - and + no their own.
I get the blue LED and also green and red briefly, but still not detecting.
The computer does not recognise the phone in Device Manager at all and neither does Xperia Companion (Xperia Software Repair), or Flashtool and updating the drivers. I've also tried about 4 USB leads.
I would appreciate any help or ideas.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z1 Compact stuck when using TWRP 2.8!

Hi,
I am very new to all of this and I appear to have bricked my phone (sort of).
Before discovering this website I thought I'd remove the bloatware from my phone by following a Youtube video by SHEM so I could get root privileges.
However I got up to the part where I start using TWRP (5:40) and the actual display doesn't fit on my screen! Only three buttons fit going down the screen (Install, Backup and Mount) the others in the next row are cut off before the text reveals what they are. Because I know the one next to Install is Wipe, I press it but I cannot continue because Swipe to Wipe is completely off-screen.
So it seems that I am stuck with a phone that doesn't really do anything. All that happens when I switch on my phone is a light turns red, then the Sony logo appears, then the light turns green and the cycle repeats. All I am able to do is go into TWRP or switch off my phone (which doesn't appear to be completely off, the screen just turns black and it still seems to drain power). I am hoping that there's a way to resolve the issue, but my current level of inexperience leaves me clueless.
I think it may be important to mention that when I ran Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.0-RELEASE.installer it revealed a couple errors in the process. Everything seemed to work as expected however up until this point, though I'm not sure if my issue is connected.
I'm hoping somebody here will be able to assist, because I need my phone (obviously) and I would like to learn get root access without all the headaches.
Please help me!

Thanks for getting back to me. I went to the link and tried what it suggested.
I tried to follow the instructions under Finding the cause of the bootloop for After flashing a new rom, but the first part Start your phone in CWM Recovery says to hold down Home whilst turning the phone on. However, there is no Home button on the Xperia Z1 Compact. There is only Power, Vol Up & Down and the Camera button. I tried combinations of all and nothing changes. I still end up in a bootloop.
I will note that the bootloop occurs in the same way that I described in the OP, except that the red light doesn't flash. This only happens when the phone is connected to my computer via usb.
I managed to download the latest firmware from firmwaremobile(dot)com, re-flashed my phone and now it's back to normal.
I think I'll try getting root access again from one of the tutorials here on this site. I get the feeling that a lot of you know what you're doing when it comes to this sort of thing and can be trusted.
Can anybody recommend any particular one that gives root access on an Xperia Z1 Compact with the view of removing all bloatware from the device?

When I charge it, the LED indicator is flashing RED light even after hours of charging. I tried to switch it on but nothing happen. I tried connecting it to my laptop (windows 8.1) but it is not recognize with red LED light on whenever I plug it to my laptop. The LED light only turns green if push the volume button down and plug it in my laptop, but it will stop after a few minutes the LED light turn red again. I even tried to repair the phone via PC Companion and it went well until after the preparation steps where it is in downloading step...on the downloading steps, it took hours saying it is downloading but nothing on the progress bar...seems like it is stuck there forever....

I haven't sent my device to local support. If your device is still under warranty, they will do everything freely. But sometimes there will be some small errors come affter that, I have seen a lot of small errors originate from warranty in Z5 series group (vietnam)
My phone is under warranty but there's no service center in my area so unable to do that
In device manager(pc) shows somc flash driver connected to pc
z5 dual dont boot no fastboot or download mode no red light plz help me
in pc device manager shown as somc flash device
Try holding power+up vol + down vol all at the same time. This will force the phone to boot. My Z5 premium randomly will either freeze where there is no response to any thing screen, buttons etc, or it will just power down and will not turn back on. that's when i know I have to hold those three buttons down and it will boot back up. I have noticed that sometimes all my paired bluetooth devices will need to be re-pair any since the paring for them gets wiped out. Not sure what determines whether they stick or get deleted.

Asus tf700t Installing android after COMPLETE reset???

So, I have a friend who gave me an Asus tf700t, since he didn't needed it anymore. The only issue is that he had erased EVERYTHING of it. He also told me that his device was unlocked.
So now if i press the power button (for a few seconds), he beeps twice and i come on a black ASUS screen. On the top-left corner it sais 'This device is unlocked'. Nothing more. I also tried keep pressing the Volume-down key and hold the power button (then he normally gets into a boot option menu), but then he turns black for 1-2 seconds, beeps twice again, and I land back on the ASUS screen.
Pressing the reset button doesn't do anything, just turns black and I come on the ASUS screen.
If I connect the device to my pc, the pc doesn't recognize it (so I can't install software/firmware/... on the device via pc). If i use a Micro SD card, it doesnt recognize anything either.
OR I'm just installing the wrong software, OR the device is totally rip, OR there might be a solution I don't know...
Is there anyone who has more experience than me and might have a solution?

I don't have this device and (based upon past experiences) i can only guess that 2 Beeps means that there's an issue with 1 or more of the the RAM Rails but, this is just a guess on my part.
Your best bet is to try to obtain some member guidance within the following area of the forum that's specific to your device and variants.

Hello,
My wife's Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact with model number H8324 has an issue with booting or maybe the launcher getting stuck in a loop after getting to the lock screen for a split second.
The phone seems to boot like normal and gets to the lock screen, we are even able to punch in one or two digits of the 4 digit pass code. Then it goes into a loop of the notification bar and back button flickering. From then on the phone is not responding except for the power button which brings up the normal "Turn off, Reboot, and Lockdown" menu. The issue just started out of nowhere yesterday morning and we haven't been able to fix it yet. We haven't done any rooting or custom rom flashing, it's running the official Sony software but it's out of warranty.
Here's a video showing the issue. The video shows the whole boot process but the link takes you to the last part after the logos.
We would love to get some files off it so if there is a way anyone can help us with that we'd prefer it over a hard reset.
Things we've already tried
Turning the phone off and on again
Unlocking the phone in the split second the lock screen works, this is just too short to swipe up and then put in four digits.
Rebooting the phone
Booting while charging
Booting into safe mode (this has the same issue)
Connecting the phone with USB to a pc, the phone is recognized by Windows, but it doesn't share it's filesystem with Windows.
Connecting the ADB to it, alas usb debugging is not yet enabled on the phone
Trying to get into recovery mode, we haven't been able to get into the recovery menu. Googling seems to indicate it might be holding volume up + power button when the phone is off but then it doesn't seem to do anything at all.
We're currently trying to run out the battery of the phone to see if that will resolve the issue on it's own.
If anyone has any idea, we would love to hear it.

I think u just need to reinstall rom file with newflasher and stock rom , did u tried it ? with newflasher newest version , u still can keep the personal files and flash stock rom for the phone , then i think this phone will run normal again
If u dont know how to do that , reply comment here , but u should turn off the phone to keep battery well , if u can't turn off the phone , try to press and hold volume up button + power button within 5 sec , phone will vibrate 3 times and totally off
Is there a way to get a stock recovery if somehow the recovery has been deleted?
