Guys please i need help to downgrade to marshmalow
any tutorial in here i got the error swrev checkfail device: 0 binary: 1
and if i do the method unpacking the md5 file and copying the sboot.bin and cm.bin from a Nougat rom and reemplace them on a Marshmallow Rom, it works and downgrade, but the network doesnt work, even if i flash a Nougat or marshmallow firmware after that and after doing the factory reset and wipe data.
any help would be useful thank you, and if have to unlock the bootloader, in what it helps? cand i change with that the binary or device number t flash any firmware that i want?
I've a Samsung J710 MN

Hi.
I have similar problem.
I flashed my GT-N8010 and i made a mistake.
I "put" ROM for GT-N8000 (N8000XXCMF1) to bootloader mode in ODIN and flash my device.
Now is stuck. Working, but with GT-N8000 firmware only.
In ODIN MODE:
PRODUCT NAME GT-N8000
CUSTOM BINNARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (2 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
I can't re-flash to GT-N8010 in ODIN (PC) to not any stock N8010 ROM - odin fail.
When i re-flash in MobileOdin:
In ODIN MODE:
PRODUCT NAME GT-N8000
CUSTOM BINNARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (4 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
What's happend?
Could you tell me?
What shall I do?
Thank you for interest my problem.

Service centre paid for repair as warranty is void .
jje
Thx man.
But... this is all what can i do?
Nothing to do myself?
Only warranty option?
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue -- again I also had tried an earlier n8000 rom.
I was only able to install n8010 roms by manally manipulating the flash archive - removing tz.img and sboot.bin
I went right back to the stock 4.1.2 UK rom, and tried to flash that -- but it failed too, and I tried to manually just install the n8010 bootloader (sboot.bin) but that too failed. Kies would not flash the device at all.
Since N8000 roms work, as do hacked N8010 roms I'll just go back to how it was, but I had hoped to be able to get back to official, stock configuration
Has anyone succeeded in fixing this? Since I've never manually modified PIT I'm a little confused as to why I can't get back - can anyone explain? or is there a way to fix this?
Playing with bootloader is the only way where you can really hardbrick your device (only help: using jtag at service centre).
If your devices are not dead at all then service center is not the smartest idea.
As the n8010 lacks of some networking features the rom won't work on n8000 without issues (ie no 3g connection).
This is so-called modem partition (modem.bin file i believe).
The modem is included in not every new firmware, but from time to time only.
Anyway, you may want to look for a firmware/custom rom which include modem.bin for your model; everything related to networking should b back to normal then.
You can find full roms at samfirmware.com
You shall use ODIN - not KIES - to flash those, at it is able to flash both bootloader and modem along with regular stuff on demand. KIES is not.
ALTHOUGH I'm not sure what shall be the effect of improper bootloader combined with proper rom.
And read my first sentence carefully again; I shall take no responsibility if you'll brick your device or do any fatal harm to it. Confirm my information with the xda and internet...
Anyway.
Afair bootloader is located at /dev/block/mmcblk0p1. Don't sure about tz thing, it may be on mmcblk0p2. Not also sure if playing with tz may do irreversible brick, but it shouldn't as it is holding some drm stuff (i.e. hdmi and allshare cast transmission will not work) and you may be able to flash it in the future. But I'm not sure.
Bootloader (sbin) is not included in every firmware, too. Look for further information on the internet.
In final: find a firmware including both sbin and modem. Flash it with odin (you will have to point to the firmware file in PDA field, but also im Bootloader and Modem. You may want not to touch PIT, as it will cause further problems.
And you are back to life.
Btw if your system is turning on, you may try another method of flashing bootloader, using terminal emulator - if you are rooted.
The command is:
dd if=/sdcard/sbin.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
Ofc using wrong path to sbin file or wrong sbin file will result in ABSOLUTELY dead device after restart.
Above is also possible with adb and windows/linux pc.
Once again: confirm all of the above with the internet/xda; this answer is only for telling you what are the clue words that you may want to earch for.
Good luck.

Thanks.useful info.I should probably put up with the 8000 roms.the device status even shows as official. Only annoyance is no signal icon and no ability to flash 8010 Rom without modification.
all otherwise seems fine

yeah.. i got carried away . that sucks. i hope someone is kind enough to investigate the restoring of the bootloader for us .
I have a G920F with latest firmware COI6 (Poland).
Is it possible to downgrade from COI6 to COH2?
Flashing thw firmware via Odin always fails.I tried with Skipsoft Unified Toollit but i'm not sure if i did it right.Started to flash but failed and softbricked my phone.
The only reason that i want to downgrade is to root without tripping knox.
I can't find a guide to delete hidden.img from tar file.Maybe i have to rename it but i'm not sure...
No

Hello!! I have one galaxy s6 (sm-g920f) and i try to restore it back to stock but every time i am trying to flash it via odin i am getting this error:sw rev check fail device 4 binary 3.. i have tried with full rom( AP,BL,CP,CSC) with and without pit file and with the rom just with the ap and nothing..i have also tried to flash with kies and smart swich and i am getting the same error... i have done all the wipes from the recovery (twrp) and still nothing.. only if i try to flash a custom rom from twrp will boot...now i am downloading the firmware of my device according to my serial number to flash it.. i also tried the method to flash like if you get sboot.bin error..
Can anyone help me please??:fingers-crossed:
i just flashed it with a full rom but without the bootloader(only ap,csc, modem) and it works!!!
now the problem is that the bootloader is another version from the rom, i cannot see any version of modem, the imei and the product code are blank... i checked them with the phone info app.. now i am downloading the rom with the baseband that shows me the phone info that i have... i also noticed that if i flash a rom which is one file or a rom that is full (bootloader,ap,modem, csc) i am getting error at cm.bin which is on bootloader.. that's why i can install a full rom but without the bootloader file...
Anyone????
i am always getting error at the cm.bin on odin...
i solved my problem by flashing the full stock rom according to the bootloader which was stucked in my phone

HOW DID YOU FLASH IT CAN YOU PLEASE ELABORATE. I have G920P running 6.0.1 and having the same issue while flashing 5.1.1
Cannot downgrade from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1.
SM-G920F, bought with Android 6.0.1. Phone Info says the phone is manufactured in 2016.11.15. Tried flashing same region Android 5.1.1 via Odin and got the "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 4, BINARY: 3". Managed to reflash 6.0. Is it possible that the newest 6.0.1 (G920FXXS4DPJ2_G920FOXX4DPH1) won't let downgrade?
You can't downgrade the bootloader version. And since the bootloader it's changed at almost every update, you will only be able to install the latest software version for your country.
If all fails, try emergency software recovery from SmartSwitch

i think your phone is p series and you flash wrong rom.pls check odin mode.almost of f series is modified.
I have a galaxy s7 SM-G930F which is currently on U5 Oreo Firmware, i wanted to downgrade it to Nougat U2, tried flashing it with Odin 3.13.1 , the flash failed and i ran into an SW REV error (Device:5, Binary:2), tried several fixed but no solution .
i have 3 questions:
1. is it even possible to downgrade from U5 to U2 (i assume the answer is no but i need confirmation)
2. is it possible to install a custom rom with TWRP that is based on U2 (if yes - how, if not - why)
3.when flashing stock firmware i read that the bootloader version of the firmware must match the current bootloader version, how do i check my current bootloader version and the downloaded firmware bootloader version?

1. No it is not, once a bootloader is updated it cannot be downgraded
2. No not anymore since S6 because boot files reside on the EFS partition which is not altered when new firmware is flashed. The boot program is written to only allow upgrades to it, never downgrades (thats the easiest way to explain it.) The primary reason for firmware and thus bootloader upgrades is due to security vulnerabilities.
3. It only has to match or be higher. Within the firmware itself the bootloader version is represented by either the letter U or S, for example G930FXXU5ESD2. = U5, firmware is on bootloader version 5. It could have read S5, it would mean the same thing.
