Hello all, I have an issue that I haven't managed to find an answer for on previous forum searches here and elsewhere, the problem is this: I have a Galaxy S5 that has a Tracfone model number, and the latest software version is Android 4.4.2. This is problematic, because I can't use a substantial amount of apps on 4.4.2. Is there any way to flash the firmware so that I can update my OS version?

You mentioned that you are new to rooting, so by any chance did you root your phone or at least unlock the bootloader? If you did this, than OTA updates generally stop working. I don't have a Samsung so I'm not sure I could tell you how to lock your bootloader again or if it is possible on a Samsung. I would go to the thread for your phone to get more help.

Just an FYI... The N9005 is the international variant. This is the better one because it can be flashed with different Firmware variants.
Your best bet is to as for some member guidance within your Device Specific area of the forum.

Yes.
Remember, if its not unlocked, it will not work

Verizon doesn't sell the Active version so there will not be one that works for VZ.
