Hello!
I have a 2din car stereo/dvd that I purshased from eBay.
My questions:
Is it possible to flash/reinstall the stereos OS with another? For example, replacing it with Android.
If possible, can I make it so my Factory BC still works? (info, date etc in my little dash screen)
It currently runs on WinCE 6.0 with 256mb RAM and 800Mhz Cortex A9 CPU
I can´t post links so if you want to see the product, search on eBay "DVD GPS sat nav for VAUXHALL Opel Corsa Astra Vectra Meriva Zafira Vivaro DAB+" and find the one running on Windows.

Thanks to the talk about Huafei and RK3066, I discover about the Car Radio OEM based on "pure" android... And now Im finilly find a brand and model seem fit on me, I find that a lot of OEM units are launch with he RK3188... But when I start looking info about these SOC, Just find not so much good info in how the SOC RK3188 works on Tablets... even some one had N90II Yuandao (RK3066), and must change to Vido N90FHD (97rq) (RK3188) and say its very bad 2d experience... say only good is see films... It's said Mali can't support big resolution....
Then... How it is going on Car Radio unit? What I saw, have the same resolution 1024 x 600... then... Must I deduce then the "agility" with apps will be the same of car units with RK3066?
Please Help!

Any idea of another android version to try?
PX3 Quadcore 1.6 w/Android 5.1.1 (running Hal9K mod w/ Gapps)
Audio mod (swapped TDA7388 with Pioneer PA2030A)
Comes with 1GB RAM, but optional i have also: 2 x 1GB (IM8G16D3FBBG-15E) chips compatible for upgrading to 2GB, needs professional soldering.
details via PM.
Screenshot done while i was running Malaysk's ROM a while back...
Yes, it's the chassis with working cd/dvd player, before joying got hit on their head and started shipped same units without the drive inside...
didn't solder the 2GB chips yet because hal9k w/gapps is very fast compared to stock and therefore didn't need to upgrade to 2GB.
up
Selling is only allowed on xda ONLY if you use Swappa (its free), so I d remove these posts asap in case a mod sees it.
ok
I'm currently looking for a new Android headunit with these specs:
2Din,
10inch,
PX5,
4GB
I've found 3 'different' devices. They all look the same for me, that's why I wanted to ask the community, if you've got experience with those specific devices and/or any other recommendations. I know there is joying, but they are a bit more expensive.

Do you think those devices are all the same and I should just pick the cheapest?
Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
nice finds.. i would say go with Dasaita.. just because of hotaudio's updates here on xda.. that seems tempting for me to move from their generic 7" din to that 10" monster..

I will install malaysk rom anyways, so I'm not depend on their updates. I have a dasaita in my other car and it is really good, I was just looking for a cheaper alternative.
But other than the quality of dasaitas software updates, do you think theres a difference in hardware as well?
probably would suggest xtrons if you want the cheaper price.. looks like sd card is behind display.. which is good if you want easy updates in the future

Hello All,
I have an android head unit with this specifications and I am looking for an update for this unit. It has Android 5.1 on it and I wonder if I can upgrade to Android 6 because it is working extremely slow.
I also need to change the touchscreen and if anyone can help me to pick the right touch screen I would be very happy.

Android 5.1 runs with a PX3 core board.
To run Android 6 you need to upgrade your core board to a PX5.
It is extremely easy to do and the new core board comes with Android 6.0 preloaded.
You can search the internet for suitable suppliers, and also for fitting instructions. Cost will be about 80 GBP.

if you upgrading your core board from PX3 to PX5, might as well get one with Android 8.0 pre-installed.
you can get it Aliexpress and amazon?
unscrew 2 screw and remove the SOM board (PX3).
Install the new SOM board (PX5) and tighten the 2 screws
Absolutely correct, if you want Android 8 this is the way to go.
But, it brings with it a whole new story. For a start it is not as easy as previously to update your ROM and boards that have this upgrade to original PX3 machines can have problems with wi-fi and bluetooth connections. Read through the Android 8 forum to aquaint yourself.
On a side note, i upgraded from a PX3/5.1 machine and had no problems.

They are exactly the same. Cooling doesn't matter in this case. Just ask Joying which will fit your car better.
If I had the choice I would always go for the single-din unit if your car is not so big, as that means that the space behind your dashboard will not be too big either. With a few accessories it is really difficult to put everything in the dashboard.
Note that both units are 1024x600. For a 7" that is sufficient, but if you also have the choice for 1280x720 and you can afoord it, I would select that one.

I don't know if there is one. I suggested to look for it (if you have ..). You have now selected Universal ones. Is your car type not supported?
