PX3 Quadcore 1.6 w/Android 5.1.1 (running Hal9K mod w/ Gapps)
Audio mod (swapped TDA7388 with Pioneer PA2030A)
Comes with 1GB RAM, but optional i have also: 2 x 1GB (IM8G16D3FBBG-15E) chips compatible for upgrading to 2GB, needs professional soldering.
details via PM.
Screenshot done while i was running Malaysk's ROM a while back...
Yes, it's the chassis with working cd/dvd player, before joying got hit on their head and started shipped same units without the drive inside...
didn't solder the 2GB chips yet because hal9k w/gapps is very fast compared to stock and therefore didn't need to upgrade to 2GB.
up
Selling is only allowed on xda ONLY if you use Swappa (its free), so I d remove these posts asap in case a mod sees it.

Do you have a video link on how to replace a px3 with a px5?
There is a video online from Daisita/hotaudio on youtube etc.
It's not even 5 minutes work.
I got multiple offers in my PM.
I spent 100,- euro's on it (RAM + soldering work). I won't get 100,- back, I know. But make me an offer.
I got a px3 with 2gb 1.6GHz already.. that is why i asked about a video tutorial.. wanted to see how easy or hard it is to replace.

It is easy. Just some screws. Did it yesterday. Effort may differ depending on your HU. I had to take the screen completely off to change the board, but on other HUs you can simply dismantle the top cover and change it.
That is good to know, thank you for the information.
How much performance can you gain with this 2GB ram compared to the 1GB board? Interested (and local ).

Hi All,
Looking to buy a PX5 board to upgrade my HU as I'm wanting to eventually put Oreo on it. Any chance anyone has one their selling?
so you're looking for second hand? I don't think people would be selling as it's the best board you can have for a PX unit unless someone is selling the 2GB RAM only version and upgraded to the 4GB RAM version?
You can get a new board here http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/Ey3vfiy

I'm in the UK sadly, would probably cost a fair bit to post!
Im interested. How much?
I am looking at the "WITSON ANDROID 8.0 PX5 Octa-Core +4GB RAM +32GB Flash Coreboard For Android DVD (For Android 8.0 V5XXX only) " on Aliexpress.com.
Is this module usually a drop in replacement for the RK3188 MTCD units?
Hello!
I have a 2din car stereo/dvd that I purshased from eBay.
My questions:
Is it possible to flash/reinstall the stereos OS with another? For example, replacing it with Android.
If possible, can I make it so my Factory BC still works? (info, date etc in my little dash screen)
It currently runs on WinCE 6.0 with 256mb RAM and 800Mhz Cortex A9 CPU
I can´t post links so if you want to see the product, search on eBay "DVD GPS sat nav for VAUXHALL Opel Corsa Astra Vectra Meriva Zafira Vivaro DAB+" and find the one running on Windows.
Hi
I just bought a new android headunit MTCE from seicane (my second)
came with internal 32gb and 4gb of ram
8-core CPU
android 8.0
Installed since last weekend.
it's fast and powerful as my previous one.
however, I get a problem with the screen resolution.
the height of resolution seem to be greater that the real screen.
so, i don't see the bottom part of the screen. let's says that's approx 3/8 inches is missing.
it's very annoying because is some apps, like youtube, i can't access the video scrollbar at bottom of the screen or some others features.
btw : stock rom, unrooted
anyone had this problem before ?
suggestion ?
FYI, the unit seem to be from a new manufacturer. (I never seen it)
MTCE_HF_v2_86_1 (HF ?!?!)

Model : HF S8 SERIES H205(1024x600)
and there is no GPS micro sd card.. no slot at all. (not visible at least)
everything seem to be installed on the 32gb internal memory.
what did the reseller suggest?
They said it's the normal behavior..
Seicane is not serious. They refuse to provide me with upgraded MTCE firmware. My current head unit is unusable due to climate control broken on the actual firmware. They're selling an upgraded version of the head unit. I suppose they imagine I will pay another 400 Euros just to have upgrade firmware.
Hello All,
I have an android head unit with this specifications and I am looking for an update for this unit. It has Android 5.1 on it and I wonder if I can upgrade to Android 6 because it is working extremely slow.
I also need to change the touchscreen and if anyone can help me to pick the right touch screen I would be very happy.

Thanx in advance
Android 5.1 runs with a PX3 core board.
To run Android 6 you need to upgrade your core board to a PX5.
It is extremely easy to do and the new core board comes with Android 6.0 preloaded.
You can search the internet for suitable suppliers, and also for fitting instructions. Cost will be about 80 GBP.

if you upgrading your core board from PX3 to PX5, might as well get one with Android 8.0 pre-installed.
you can get it Aliexpress and amazon?
unscrew 2 screw and remove the SOM board (PX3).
Install the new SOM board (PX5) and tighten the 2 screws
Absolutely correct, if you want Android 8 this is the way to go.
But, it brings with it a whole new story. For a start it is not as easy as previously to update your ROM and boards that have this upgrade to original PX3 machines can have problems with wi-fi and bluetooth connections. Read through the Android 8 forum to aquaint yourself.
On a side note, i upgraded from a PX3/5.1 machine and had no problems.
