Hello. I've recently tried to uninstall Magisk through its app but that doesn't seem to work. Some apps still detect that I have root access and not allow me to use it. Thus, I tried removing the install files in my phone and it still couldn't work. I have also tried factory resetting but for some reason TWRP won't allow it.
It writes:
"Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder
Updating partition details
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Full SELinux support is present.
Unable to mount '/data/media/TWRP/.twrps

Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Formatting cache using make_ext4fs...
Updating partition details...
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)

Phone is still working perfectly apart from these errors. How can I fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To answer this we need the following info:
1. What phone do you have?
2. Do you use a stock or custom rom?
3. If you use a custom rom, what rom is it?

Well, I have a S7 Edge. I am not that experienced with tech so I'm not so sure what I did for the Rom.
I flashed it through Odin though. I could dm you the link of the tutorial if you don't mind
Re-Flash rom
You can try re-flashing the rom (not sure if it's a word but you probaly know what I mean). So enter twrp (power, volume up & home button), go to wipe and wipe the following: System, Data, Cache, Dalvik/Art cache. Once you've done that flash the rom. Depending on what rom you use, you can see if magisk is gone. If not, try another rom (make sure it is for your device!!!). This should help, if not let me know.
Or just run Magisk Manager, tap Uninstall, then tap complete uninstall.

Hello everyone
I bet you have heard this before, but I can't seem to install CM on my Asus TF300T. Here are all my specs and things I used:
Tablet: Asus Transformer Pad tf300t
Environment: Mac OS X 10.11
Asus OS: 4.1, Flashed to JellyBean 4.2.1
TWRP Version: twrp-2.8.7.0-tf300t.img
CM Version: cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO337-tf300t.zip
I followed this guide here for Installing CM:
wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_tf300t
The only thing I can think of that I did wrong is that doing step
fastboot -i 0xb05 flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-tf300t.imgwas that the first time i actually used the md5 file file twrp-2.8.7.0-tf300t.img.md5. I am not sure if this unmounted anything or what, but just letting you know what happened. I figured out the link i clicked was an MD5 file and not the .img file. I downloaded correct version and redid fast boot
Everything else I did as the guide mentioned. Yet, when I try to install CM with
adb push cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO337-tf300t.zip /sdcard/
It works fine, but when I try to install through twrp, Many errors popup saying failed to mount.

What I can still do:1) fastboot
2) Get into JellyBean 4.2 through adb bootloader
3) adb
What I can't do:1) Install CM
2) Apparently mount anything through trwp.
I have checked many other solutions on here, but I can't really find any that work for me. I have used differing version of twrp, even custom versions saying old version of tarp (2.3ish) had a bug on 4.2.1 systems. But I reuploaded 2.8 since its lot newer, and it seemed maybe those bugs were fixed.
Thanks in advanced, and I hope you guys can help me. I would really love to start modifying CM for custom builds, but I always get stuck on problems such as this.
Bump for visibility.
Trying to get this to work. I would like to add some features to CM so this is quite critical. I hope someone can help.
Solved: used CM 11 not 12
Hello All,
Seems like I found the issue. But there is another issue as I progress. I try to do the ./extract-files.sh and it says error: device offlineIf I plug my CM 11 Tablet, the device opens in file explorer, but I guess the adb cannot find it. Any solutions to this problem?

Hey,
Got it working now.
I made sure if USB debugging was turned on. It was, but I unchecked the notification whenever you connect to computer.
I also did used command adb shell to check if I could log into adb shell. It did. then I tried to ./extract-files.sh again, and it worked perfectly fine.
Sorry if I am flooding the Forums with perhaps meaningless information, but just wanted to keep you guys updated. Thanks for reading.
So I decided I would switch back to a custom rom on my phone. I reverted to stock several months ago to get the official Telus 6.0.1 update. Now that I have that, I'm trying to get TWRP installed so I can throw a ROM on, but when I get TWRP loaded, none of the other file systems are mountable and I don't see anything in the /sdcard directory or anywhere else. There are errors when trying to mount them as well.
I did flash the 6.0.1 bootloader and modem the rom dev suggested before doing the TWRP recovery, but I'm still stuck with not being able to access anything while in the recovery, and I get thrown in to a bootloop if I try to boot the OS. I can flash the Telus 6.0.1 rom back to my phone and resolve this, but I'm wondering why TWRP is "corrupting" my phone like it is. Here are the errors i'm seeing in recovery:
Could not mount /data and unable to find cryptofooter
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
.......done
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Full SELinux support is present
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
Anyone know what's going on here? I tried this same process a few weeks ago, but just resigned myself to staying on the stock Telus rom because this same issue came up.
Hello, my phone is acting really weird since 1-2 weeks. It freezes at really random time; sometime 30 secondes after a reboot (because it started to freeze before the reboot) and sometime it works for hours without problems but freezes at really unexpected time when using it or even when I'm not using it. It worked fine for months after the root but I don't know what happen.
I already reinstalled the firmware with Odin3 but it's still doing the same thing. Is it still doing the same thing.

Hi mate
Maybe the problem is an installed app.......check your apps ( mainly the ones you installed recently )
Even when I'm only using apps downloaded from the playstore the phone still do the same thing. I doubt it's because of an app because I reinstalled the firmware many times already

Mate download from the playstore means nothing , still apps from there can cause problems......
Do a factory reset , re install nothing ( apps backup) . Contacts , email , social media is ok , let it run for a couple days and see if is an app or not
Yeah I'll do that this time without rooting. Everytime I reset my phone before I always rooted it so this time I'll try without rooting it.
same problem
I have same problem. I did a factory reset trough switch and it didn't work. I have tried with some stock roms trough odin. I installed twrp and tried to do wipe factory but it said the following:

not an installed app that's causing it because I only installed messenger, reddit, spotify and it still doing the same thing I didnt event root or install TWRP this time.
I'll try some custom ROM this time.
Nope not working still random restart and freezes
This is so weird because sometime it even freeze when I'm in stock recovery without TWRP
I have this problem also and mine isn't even rooted nor could it be a app because i had it even in safe mode and mine still did the freeze so i guess its hardware related.
Yeah maybe it's hardware side because I really tried so many time by resetting it and nothing changed
Hi All,
I am trying to root Samsung S7 Oreo 8.0 with TWRP & Magisk. But, when ever I log into TWRP it's saying "Inernal Memory 0MB)
I've followed below steps :
Installed TWRP and no-verity-opt-encrypt zip, it worked until I reboot to system
After reboot again the internal memory showing as 0MB (may be re-encrypted)
Is there any way that I can remove the encryption permanently?
Error :
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.

PS : I've gone through the forum to find different solutions, but nothing working to remove the encryption permanently.
yes, it is possible. is use it all the time with my stock android. give me some time to write it...or maybe someone other can tell u. u already used the search in this forum?
an other question, u really need an unencrytped internal memory?

Thank you.. Am not exactly looking for unencrypted partition. Am just confused whether it's expected to format data and no variety everytime or is it just one time for root?
Also I gone through the threads to find fix for this issue. But most of the people are suggesting to format data.
Any other better ways? Can we take backup of existing ROM from TWRP without root?

i am using a stock firmware by telekom, it installs some features after first flash and first reboot (maybe ur firmware does not need step 3, so my second reboot is ur first reboot into download mode)
1. flash stock firmware
2. first reboot
3. install for provider reasons and then
4. second reboot (important: into download mode)
5. flash twrp
6. third reboot (important: into twrp)
7. flash zip-file (attached to this post)
8. reboot and wait....
now u should have an unencrypted system. the only thing is, u need to repeat these steps on firmware updates.
