I just bought a "faulty", returned by customer, 701L that has no wifi or bluetooth. They're both turned off and can't be turned on.
Interestingly, the phone thinks it's a 702L:
Model number GEM-702L
Build number GEM-702LC158B202
EMUI version EMUI 4.0
Android version 6.0
RAM 3.0gb
Phone storage 23.38 GB free, 32.00 GB total
Android security patch level 1 June 2016
Baseband 21.600.27.00.010,21.600.27.00.010
Kernel version 3.10.86-gfd79fc8
[email protected] #2
Tue Jun 28 15:26:23 CST 2016
...and battery is charging.
So either there was an official OTA 701 to 702 update or the customer tried to upgrade the phone and stuffed up the wifi & bluetooth which might be recoverable with a bit of firmware tinkering.
Anyone have any info or ideas on what might be wrong?
It would be nice to be able to rescue this mainboard and keep it as a spare for tinkering or whatever.

You're gonna have to downgrade it back to a 701L then you can convert it it a 702L or 703L. I would ask @audioralf to link you to his thread which explains the whole process. The hardware is probably fine.

Hi all, I got the notification of a T-mob software update end of September 2017 for my T-mob LG Stylo 3 Plus, the TP450. It currently is sporting the Android 7.0 with April 1 security patch, Kernel version is 3.18.31 and the soft version is TP45010b.
I am not seeing anything about that update on the T-mobile site.
Questions please, if you know:
- is this just a security patch as I'm guessing or a more serious Android version update?
- More importantly for now: if I go ahead and do it, will I lose all my apps etc? IOW does the phone reset to "stock" status with that update?
TIA
E
Just update with LG Bridge. You can regain root, either with SuperSU or Magisk, afterwards.
sorry if I wasn't clear. The phone is not rooted, for now, has stock recovery etc, and I need to keep it that way for a while. (edited OP for clarity)
well, since there was no reply about updating the stock phone, I took a chance and did the update, and if you are interested, it did NOT reset the phone. All my apps and their settings are still there apparently.
Good to know.
IT is now Soft v. TP450c . Sec patch is dated Aug 1 2017. Still Android 7.0 and Kernel 3.18.31

As a rule, a software update on a stock phone does not reset the system. Could you imagine the outrage if it wiped everything every time your phone updated? Even during a major version update it may. be recommended to factory reset, the manufacturer doesn't do that. They want you to keep using them and their phone and don't want to make it harder for you than necessary so you dont try another carrier or manufacturer.
Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me with the following issue. For a long time I used a custom ROM(NNE 3.1) and was able to call out and to be called. Until recently the Phone App just started to crash on any number I wanted to dial to. Since I haven't reset the phone for a long time, I chose to try out some newer ROMs, assuming the calling out/in problem would be solved.
However, whatever custom ROM I'm trying, calling doesn't work anymore. After re-flashing the stock firmware(Stock Samsung Android 7 - G920FXXU5EQI6_G920FPHN5EQI2_PHN) with Odin, I was able to call and to be called again.
After which I thought/hoped, maybe the stock ROM would have fixed the Phone App issue, so I tried various custom ROMs installed with TWRP, but with none of them the Phone App works. Not even with the exact same ROM I've been using for a long time. (I backed-up that ROM back then, and re-flashed the exact same file this time [NNe 3.1]).
What am I missing here? Some Samsung hardware security feature that got flipped back somehow?
Help is much appreciated...the stock firmware is so slow...
Thanks in advance!

Got this phone on eBay a few weeks ago. I love it but when I set it up, it thinks it has the latest updates.

Android version 9, Security patch level December 1, 2018
Software version is Q910UM25a
Using a Koodo sim. Tried a Fido one too. Same thing.
Tried the LG Mobile Support tool, get a message saying "Your device has the latest software available from the LG Mobile Support Tool.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Normal versions are Q910UM20x not 25. Usually LG name 25,29,28 beta firmwares. You need flash 20 full(full OTA) firmware. But where find fullflash i dont know.
I seem to be in the same boat. Picked up two of these previous display model devices.
One is running Q910UM11c (Android 8.1.0, September 2018 patch level) and prompting for an update to 25a, the other is already running 25a.
I'll attempt to capture the OTA on the one still running 11c. I doubt it will help, but it can't hurt.
EDIT: I'll include the build build numbers here just in case they're useful for anything.
Q910UM11c, build OPM1.171019.026
Q910UM25a, build PKQ1.180904.001

Same boat, mate! I on Q910UM25a, build PKQ1.180904.001 with Dec 2018 security patch. Wish I could find a way to move to regular build. But information is almost non-existent on this device.
So I got the phone 2 days ago via eBay & already having issues the internal storage just keeps getting used up but nothing to show for it I'm very confused why this is 512 gb version of the Note 10+ it also won't update to the latest security patch it's still on 9.0 from August 2019 tried to update, it states it's on the latest update ??* any information would be much appreciated
Tried clearing the cache but again for it to come straight out the box & its internal storage to be used up that quick with nothing on the phone is very appalling

Idk why it thinks August firmware is the most recent, but here are the official SM-N9750 firmwares
Download whatever region/language you prefer and flash via Odin
I think that phone is not an original Samsung
Hardly any phone on ebay that is sold as new is actually new I had to return several they buy carrier wholesale phones unlock them flash whatever they think is right and list it as new instead of open box or used. The only sellers on ebay that sell truly new phones are Microsoft and Samsung.
