S5 TW apps that work with S5 mini

I am running latest stock Touchwiz (5.1.1) on my G800H and have found out that some apps that Samsung only makes available for S5 work just fine with the mini as well. Simply download and install the apks, no root needed:
1. Internet (Samsung browser)
Everything works, even fingerprint scanner features.

Just install GameService 1.0.2 as newer ones require Marshmallow.

Gear S3 with Samsung phones (custom ROM) Questions and Answers

Hey all,
I thought I would create a new thread where owners of the Gear S3 and a Samsung phone with a custom ROM installed can discuss their problems, solutions and tips.
Samsung Gear S3 = Model R760 (bluetooth/wifi) | Firmware R760XXU2BQC5 (Mar 2017)
Samsung S5 = Model G900T3 | Firmware G900T3UVU3GQC2 (Mar 2017) | LineageOS 14.1 (04-05-2017 official nightly) | TWRP 3.1.0.0 | Rooted
Nexus 6 = LineageOS 14.1 (03-31-2017 official nightly) | TWRP 3.1.0.0 | Rooted
I've tried the Gear S3 paired with the Nexus 6 and I did not have any problems. Phone calls work from the watch and I can reply to SMS messages and even click "Read More" to see the entire conversation. The Samsung software installed easily on the phone.
I've also tried the Gear S3 paired with the Samsung S5 and there have been problems:
1. Samsung Gear app can be installed on phone but does not run due to a modification error message. To fix this, open build.prop in /system and change ro.product.name=samsung and ro.product.manufacturer=samsung to another brand like lg or htc (in lowercase).
2. Gear S Plugin and Samsung Accessory Service apps (required) cannot be installed. Play Store says they are not compatible with my device. I had to manually install the .apks for them which then worked.
3. Transferring pictures and music to Gear S3 from the phone does not work. When a file is selected to transfer, the app crashes and reboots the phone.
4. Phone calls do not work from the Gear S3.
Other than that, the watch functions the same as it did when paired with the Nexus 6. Has anyone been able to get phone calls working on their Gear S3 and a Samsung phone with Custom ROM installed?

1) "YES" button do not work on phone calls. "NO" button work
2) S-Health not sync with phone
3) Picture transfer working. I did not try the music transfer not yet.
The most important to me is S-Health sync. I hope, I find the solution.

Ihave installed gear apk and changed build.prop accordingly. The App opened when i tried the s3 via BT to the phone but gear s popped up to be installed again, which was not possible the Gear Icon remained on the phone screen - nothing continued. Are there any news for this problem - rooted?

with todays update cm14.1 the gear app is working again, provided the changes in post #1

You can't if you are not rooted. If you are, you can use Xposed and there are modules that can do this.

Smart Things app cannot cast audio from TV to phone/tablet on many SAMSUNG devices

Hello there. I have a Samsung QE43Q60A TV.
I want to cast the audio from the TV to my phone/tablet with the use of Smart Things app. GUESS WHAT?! It's not possible on most of the SAMSUNG devices that I have tried.
THEY ALL HAVE BEEN UPDATED AS WELL AS THE SMATTHINGS APP.
Let's sum it up:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 (Android Pie, unrooted but knox flagged) : NOT POSSIBLE
- Samung Galaxy M31 (Android 11, unrooted) : NOT POSSIBLE
- Samsung Galaxy S7 (Android Pie ported rom, rooted): NOT POSSIBLE.
- Samsung Galaxy A71 (Android 11, not rooted): POSSIBLE
- Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 (Note 10 Lite port of Android 10, rooted) : POSSIBLE.*
*previously tried with the TW stock Oreo rom and another port, but on Pie and it was NOT working.
Guess what?? The A71 is pretty useless to me and the A5 2017 is SUPER SLOW.
I have found no way to make this feature work on those other devices. Rooting those recent devices is out of questions. I have tried both the Play Store and Galaxy store version. Useless.

Is Samsung Galaxy S5 the same as Neo?
I have Samsung Galaxy S5 (model number SM-G900P), with Android 6.0.1, which I would like to upgrade to newer system version. I've been trying to find this model on your website, but the only option is Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. Are these the same? Could you point me to the right direction/forum? Please. Also any tutorial "how to do it" would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

SM-G900P ? Another name for that is kltedv
Here is one option of Android 11 with installation instructions. It's called LineageOS.

LineageOS doesn't include Google's system apps so is considered as a "degoogled" or "vanilla" Android operating system.
If you wish to add Google system apps (called GApps), you'll need to seek out a suitable GApps zip "add-on" file to install after installing LineageOS.
