i am not sure if you all will agree with my idea, but its something that I would like to see. if you use handcent SMS you know that one of the features is quick compose. this allows you to send an SMS from almost any app without needing to switch apps. this is very convenient! i know we are able to do multitasking and switching between apps is not that hard, but there are some apps that, if you press the home button, the app will stop working, you cant resume or the app will crash. An example is Ex Zeus. so just wondering if anyone knows an app similar to what i am asking for or knows if its being designed? i wish i could reroute handcent sms quick compose feature to use google voice instead but thats not possible. i dont think it would be too difficult to design, but i have no idea! let me know what you guys think.

Nevermind this is about Google voice. It doesn't work with voice. But the quick reply option is in additional settings

Looking for the missed call/new message widget.
Cheers.
"Last Call Widget." Free in the market.
Is the new message notification for voice mails or text messages or both?

To be honest I really don't know.
And the "Last Call" widget isn't really what I'm after.

Try "SMS Unread Count" from the market. It gives you widgets for missed Calls, SMS an GMail.

Wow. I feel like a proper idiot.
Thanks all the same. Also, I did wind up just going with SMS Unread Count the other day, but thanks to you as well for the suggestion.
Wound up looking pretty nice, I think. Would post a picture, but no outside links yet.
any way to incorporate minimalistic text with sms unread or to make the app missed it to open applications
I like missed it a lot however i don't like how it's not able to be clicked. like i have minimalistic text set up on my homescreen to read messages and when i click on it, it goes to messages obviously
but anyway to add it so unread bubble is over minimalistic text or a way to make missed it clickable. i see they have a setting for applications but don't know how to use that
i've created photoshop icons that say messages, however for the unread count widget, it's the one size and that's too small for me so looking for any way to do this if at all possible
Not to my knowledge. Ofcourse I've only been playing with them for about a week each. Hopefully someone else can chime in and help ya. Took me forever to get the Minimalistic widget set up, lol.
yeah there's so much that app can do, and missed it app is very similar just wish it could open an application like minimalistic can do
and sms unread does open the app, just doesn't look nearly as good as the other two apps
hmm, there's got to be a way but yeah, i'm hooked to minimalistic text

I know this is already and old-ish thread, but if you're still looking to do this: I think LauncherPro allows you to stack widgets.. So you might be able to put an empty MinimalisticText widget (no background and link to the application) over the MissedIt! widget.
I haven't really tried LauncherPro though, only read about it.. So I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that it can stack widgets. I can't find the exact link now, but I think it was something posted in the Post your Screenshots thread.
Edit: Uh.. I just bought Missed It! from the Market, and there's an option in the settings to launch the application associated with any notification being shown (version 1.5.3), so it looks like you don't need to use MinimalisticText to create links. But anyway, guess that option is still there anyway.
You can get SMS unread (and about a million other things) in MTW using Tasker
- sent from my HTC Evo "Seafone" using Tapatalk

Tasker looks cool, but in my local currency it costs R47.49 (ZAR) compared to MissedIt at R7.03. Pretty big price difference for simply displaying an unread notification count on your launcher home screen...
My Gmail is`nt working with Missed It, I have the account added or what not but when e-mails come in, it does`nt show on Missed It, any ideas?
I had the NS4G few months back and I recall leaving it's default sms notification alone because I really liked it. Does anyone know where to find it or have it handy?
i think that really is the default sms notification of miui..but other sms apps such as GO SMS & handcent also have it...the new Contacts app by contapps also got it..

Thanks for helping, but I actually found an archive of older builds, remembered which build it was (1.7.22) and found the ringtones/notifications inside the /media folder. All is good.
P.S. Here's the notification for anyone interested.

sometimes i get a quick text and can read all of it from the notifications area so i don't want to go all the way into hangouts to mark it as read. is it possible? some third party apps have this feature but i've grown accustomed to hangouts.
This is a good idea. Hope some guys can make it true.
