I don't see anything anywhere in either products' listings that would suggest that those are actually QC4 chargers, however, as Qualcomm's specifications indicate, QC4 does support USB Power Delivery, which is what everyone should be using anyway.
I've been charging my U12+ on PD for the last week and it tops up blazing fast.
Greetings,
guess I found one that's quite expensive though. But it should work:

Comes in different versions as well.

Already tried via MediaMarkt and Expert here in my region. Both without look. They have Hama, and checked with me in their system, if they could ordering from Hama directly. No way they could order it for me...

I do think they're being untruthful. I don't see any indicator other than "QC4.0" that indicates that it's Qualcomm certified, nor did I see the phrase, "Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0" in the listing. I don't trust it.
I only use OEM and Anker chargers & cables, for what it's worth.

Yes you are probably right. I would wait for a Qualcomm certified charger anyway. Just saw someone post about the first one linked and they seemed to know it was 4.0. No reviews or comments anyhow, I would never purchase something with no reviews lol.
As for Anker, I've had issues with their cables and HTC phones. They seem to work for a little while then they stop. They also wear out quickly to where the micro usb connection becomes loose and falls out easily. Seems it's hard to find a good cable.
I need replacement micro USB cables for my M8 and M9 and can't even order one from HTC. The "HTC OEM cables on Amazon are fakes. They look exactly the same except they do not have the HTC tag.

This is what I'm using to charge my U12 Plus. Since one of my cats has decided that the supplied cable from HTC is delicious, I was sort of forced to try out how USB Power Delivery works. And it works fantastic:

Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 Cable (3ft) with Power Delivery for USB Type-C Devices Including Galaxy S8, S8+, S9, Google Pixel, Nexus 6P, Huawei Matebook, MacBook and More

Yeah I think their charging blocks are good I just know their charging cables are bad for HTC phones. The old micro USB cables, they wear out quick and stop working. The USB type c should be much better I haven't tried one yet.
I need an OEM HTC micro USB and can't even order them from HTC. The ones online that claim to be OEM are full of it.

Even one like this? I haven't connected one to an HTC phone (I bought this long after no longer having a Micro USB-equipped HTC), so I can't offer to test for you, but this is what I've got in my Jeep to power my wireless charger:

The clips on the micro USB wore out quickly and would not snap in like they are supposed to so they fall out. I still use micro USB for non-phone devices. But they guaranteed the cables would work with HTC devices since HTC devices are very finnicky with charging cables, if it's not HTC oem, most of the time they do not work right. My first pack I ordered from them, a pack with different sizes wouldn't work, they said that was the older style so they were great and offered me a upgraded version for free, like six different cables and they were the ones that worked but didn't last long. Anyway, the USB-C should be much better since they attach much differently.
It is hard finding a good micro USB cable.

5.99 for converter of older cables. I like these instead of buying new cables at this time since I have a ton of micro usb stuff still. Any reason I shouldn't use these? I'm sure it won't charge as fast as stock charger/file xfer, but otherwise?

I ordered some cheapo ones from eBay but they will probably get here before the actual phone. They should def be slower but I think the charging should be comparable.
I was about to ask the same thing. Those look good enough. I don't want to replace all my cables especially since some of them do double duty (charge PS4 remote).
Whenever i buy some type c cables I'm going to buy like $50 worth so I can have them in the myriad of places I keep them.

Would love to see some sort of sticky charging guide here. Not sure if I should be buying adapters, c to c, standard to c, new chargers, or what...
I'm thinking I'll keep my current 6 port charger and just getting some adapters so the micro usb can still charge, but really don't want to lose the quick charge feature, so maybe I should replace my charger, i probably should replace all my cables, they're getting kind of worn and I know sometimes the cheaper ones won't charge @ 2 amps.
New car charger?
Already going to have to replace our tylt wireless chargers we have by the bed, would love a usbc dock I guess...
ugh too much research to do again....I guess that's the silver lining of the phone not getting here for over a month
Will be interesting to see if anyone can get some solid numbers on how much these affect the charging rate.
I think ill use my standard cables with the adapter for a while. Til i get to know them better.
I'm really hoping I don't have to be stressed about fast charging otherwise it's going to go back to Google.
dx.com has a 5-pack for about $5, free shipping doesn't kick in until $15 spent, so you might as well browse.
I just bought a 4-pack of USB C cables in Amazon for $20 and called it a day. That + the one that comes with the phone should be a good start.

Yeah, that's what I bought. Supposed to arrive next Wednesday.
I have no clue if those cables will limit charging speeds. No real way to tell until we get the phone and compare with the cable shipped with the phone.

They are obviously only 2.0 cables but I figure unless you're spending big bucks right now on 3.0 A -> 3.1 C cables (or even 3.1 C -> 3.1 C with new chargers), pretty much ANYTHING we buy right now will be replaced later once we have more mainstream 3.x cables to buy at good prices from Anker or somebody. But this is the best price I could find for 4x cables that have good reviews. I've found a few that are a tad cheaper but with no reviews, so I decided this was the right answer for me.

Does anyone know of any power banks with Type-C with a cable built into them? I can find a lot of them for MicroUSB and Lightning, but none for USB-C. (I ask because my previous phone had wireless charging, so I used a Qi power bank to avoid having to bring a cable with me, but I can't do that anymore.)
Bump.

Have a look at eg. the iVoler 10000mAh Power Bank. This one doesn´t have a built in USB Type C cable but it offers a small cable which fits in every pocket. I guess that this is still better than nothing?

Yes, a Type-C version of that is exactly what I'm looking for. At this point, I'd even be happy with a MicroUSB one that had a slot to keep a MicroUSB-to-TypeC adapter in (like how some now have slots for MicroUSB-to-Lightning adapters).

I thought about that too, but I'm worried that a type-C adapter won't fit in the Lightning slot since it's bigger.

I think you misunderstand. This thread is not about finding a powerbank that have USB C port on it. It's about finding a powerbank that have a USB C cable permanently attached to it. Something like this, but USB Type-C:

I purchased Aukey power bank from amazon several months ago.. the specs are the following: 30000 Mah, 2 usb type A ( one of them supports qc 3.0) and usb type c slot, microusb port is for charging purposes. I'm very satisfied with the product and I recommend u to take a look at it.

It'll charge, but not at full speed since the 6p isn't QC certified. You'll have to get usb-c chargers that can deliver 5v/3a

Nexus 6P original adapter charging vs. third-party chargers charging
Hi, here are some points for Nexus 6P charging and Quick Charge 2.0:
1. Nexus 6P doesn't support Quick Charge 2.0/3.0, but its original adapter supports 5V/3A charging, actually the speed is even faster than Quick Charge 2.0 18W maximum power (6P original adapter charging efficiency is better than Quick Charge 2.0)
2. Mainstream Quick Charge 2.0 port is USB-A port, you can use a USB-A to USB-C cable to charge your Nexus 6P. But be sure to use the qualified cable, you should choose the USB-A to USB-C cable with 56K Rp, about how to choose type-c cable, you can refer to Google engineer Benson, he reviewed nearly all the type-c cables on market, see https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung
3. Original Nexus 6P original adapter is with female Type-C port and a type-c to type-c cable, so you'd choose similar format third-party chargers. I found some female type-c charger adapter is also with Quick Charge 3.0.
4. Here there is a Nexus 6P charging analysis http://www.tronsmart.com/nexus-6p-charging-analysis by Tronsmart, although it seems an ads by Tronsmart, it offer some important info about Nexus 6P charging, maybe it is useful for you.
That is what I know, any question or opinion, let's discuss.

You happen to know if there is an EU plug available for this charger? I can't seem to find anything other than US plug.
I use this Anker multi port charger, it has a native USB C port, plus 4 regular USB ports. With a total of 40W, I can charge a lot of things at the same time, and it's the best solution for travel. The cable is detachable, so you should be able to find a European AC cable for it

I would wait to see if Benson reviews it, awful lot of stuff out there that operates out of spec.
I agree. Unless you absolutely need one right now, I'd wait until they review more stuff or just pony up $40 for the Belkin... WAY too much variation in how these manufacturers are producing USB-C chargers.

I bought this charger and it's working great. Using the USB a-c cable that was bundled with the Pixel.
My last car charger was a very similar, low profile Aukey one with QC 2.0 and I never had any issues with it either.
This is the one I use. Fast charges both my Nexus 6p and Pixel XL. I think it was mentioned by Benson to be good also.

I bought this charger and it's working great. Using the USB a-c cable that was bundled with the Pixel.
My last car charger was a very similar, low profile Aukey one with QC 2.0 and I never had any issues with it either.

Uh... the Power Delivery charging is ONLY through the USB Type C port... charging via USB A does absolutely nothing for you.

The Pixel does not support Quick Charge. Don't know what you will get from USB-A to USB-C.
Good setup is 5V/3A = 15W from a good USB-C charger and cable.
Best setup is 9V/2A = 18W from a good USB-C PD charger and cable

All I'm saying is these chargers are 24w / 3A , and when I plug in my pixel it tells me rapidly charging. I can get a full charge in the same amount of time as my charger I received with my pixel phone, or the Belkin USB type c charger I have , just trying to save you guys some money. As for reliability I had a 6p when they first came out and the battery and phone are still good in that an I have always used that charger. Hope this helps!

Although the Snapdragon 821 is capable of Quick Charge 3.0 for the Pixel, it looks like Google has elected to use the USB-C Power Delivery standard. I just looked up a bunch of very confusing technical stuff, but the big advantage of PD is use of the data connection within USB-C while charging. ( like from a computer ). I don't think there is very much difference in the rate of charging with PD vs Quick Charge. Rest assured, the Pixels will charge VERY quickly.
I'm on my way to work but this should sum it up, all sd821 are quick charge 3.0 capable, like I said this charger is 24w/3a an you won't be using the USB PD features while charging in your car anyway.

That's a standard 5v 2.4A charger according to it's specs, at max you'll get 12w decent charge albeit not "max" but who cares, since the Pixel doesn't support qc. Using it with the stock pixel a to c cable should be safe, I wouldn't use an untested cable tho and risk frying the Pixel.
The blitzwolf usb-c +a car charger, non qc, is only $5 delivered on Banggoods on sale, comes usb-c cabled and has usb a slot. I use it and get a good safe charge from it.
The visnic has been tested to work well, only $10 but you need a cable too.
Hey all, just acquired my new Pixel XL. It's my first USB-c device so need to get some new cables... I was looking at USB-c car chargers on Amazon but not seeing any rave reviews on much. Do you all have any recommendations? Is there a certain standard of charger that is best for the Pixel (I.e. quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 etc)?
Thanks everyone for your input

The pixels use usb-pd and not quick charge 2.0 or 3.0. Currently, there is not a lot of great options. there are a few threads taking about it in this forum.

Shout out to @Nathan-K and Benson. I've spent hours reading their G+ pages and Amazon reviews and I'm blown away by the work they're doing trying to hold manufacturers accountable and keep consumers safe.
Tl;dr - most are junk currently, and some are even dangerous. 1 specific Verizon version for usb-c pd (TYPECPDVPC ONLY!) is the most acceptable one.

Check out this spreadsheet it has chargers on it and one is type car. There are no perfect PD chargers at the moment (18W) AUKEYCC-Y7 and Verizon 27w TYPECPDVPC are the least bad. It is probably best to take the 3W hit at the moment and go for a 15W non PD car charger like the Belkin 15w F7U005bt04-BLK or Nomad B015NN0OKO. Personally I have gone for the AUKEYCC-Y7 PD charger as although not perfect it is at least cheap.
Bear in mind that some chargers come with a fixed USB-C charging cable. Ones that are cable less will need a decent cable as well. Decent ones cost as much as the chargers. So given the current price I recommend going for the Belkin 15W charger with built in cable

I would stick with your existing USB - A charger and get a A to C cable.
None of the USB-C chargers are anywhere near good.
I just got this one two days ago based on Benson Leung's review. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014F2NQ36/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So there's no issue using an old micro USB charging cable? I planned on using my old ones and I purchased a 2 pack of USB-C to Micro USB adapters from Amazon. Can't seem to get clarification about the micro USB chargers..
I have no clue with micro > C adapters. The OEM A>C cable works great and make sure any 3rd party A > C cables should have the required 56kΩ resistor.
I am using a few of these from Anker on an old .5a Moto charger, older Anker car charger and an extra thrown in my work bag.

Of course there is an issue, you need to use either use a micro to c adapter with a 56k ohm pull-up resistor in it or a an approved a to c cable that also has a 56k ohm pull-up resistor.
EDIT: make sure you bookmark that google spreadsheet and check it for up to date~ info.

That visnic is no longer even on the spreadsheet
I got the v3 CCTA from tronsmart and returned it, the pixel sees it as a device when you unplug and plug it into 12v with car turned off/not powering socket..
The 27w Belkin is now considered bad after further testing has shown it to allow the pixel to backfeed power.
Oh, all Belkins are now in the bad -2 recommendation..

A Micro to usb type c adapter didnt come with the phone. You can use the USB A to C cable that came with the phone with legacy chargers.
Has anyone plugged their pixel into an "old" charger and actually had an issue? I see lots of people going crazy about chargers and also see lots of people that use any old charger they have with a cheap adapter and they have no issue.

I use my old charger with the oem a to c cable and my old a to micro cable with a micro to c adapter that has the 56k ohm resistor just fine, it's just slower than max, but no big deal. hardly ever have to use it, but have it just in case.
I have been using an old Anker pre QC charger and it has been working fine.
I haven't tried the QC3 charger in my wife's car yet.
For now the A>C cables with the 56 ohm resistor is the safe way to go.

Plus one. Have this and love it.
I use this one I bought off Amazon. Been using it for a while. Never had any problems with it. Rapidly charges my pixel and you can charge 2 items at the same time. Check it out for yourself.
Belkin
The Belkin 15 watt used to be recommended as it was the charger for the 6p. I have used it with the 6p and now the Pixel. Not sure why it went from 2 to -1. Obviously it does not do PD with the Pixel, but I cannot see it doing harm. Same is true for the Google 6p wall charger. I sue that with the Pixel also. Any thoughts?

I would guess the change is for charging as noted. There are some further comments about a lack of IR drop compensation circuitry in the Google+ information below. I view the list as simply somewhat subjective opinions from an engineer, and like you said, I couldn't find comments in Google+ to suggest the Belkin you're talking about might pose a threat to a phone. My previous Razr M would tend to lose power when charging and using navigation, so I may just keep the Belkin PD model and see what happens with a replacement, in spite of the current -2 in the list.
