Hello. I've been trying to unlock the bootloader but the volume keys don't work in fastboot mode.
When I give the command "fastboot oem unlock" the phone shows a message asking me to either press volume up to choose "yes" or volume down to choose "no". However, in this mode the volume buttons don't work so I can't choose an option. What's up with that?
I got Nokia 3.1 from Amazon, brand new, no carrier. Out of the box I see two issues:
1. Device is not getting OS updates. About dialog shows patch level of "May 2018". I expect Android One device to have an update by now. In two weeks since I've got the phone there have been no OTA update.
2. Google play app shows device as "uncertified". However, google apps work just fine.
Otherwise, the phone is great for the price. How do I fix these issues? Nokia support forum has a few posts describing the same issue, but no replies from Nokia.
Some questions:
- Is the lowest brightness low enough for comfortable reading at night?
- Does it have a fullscreen / scaling option (since it's 18:9 screen)? I saw some Nokia phones have an icon in the recent apps window (for each app).
I have a Nokia 3.1 plus..
The recent system updates are not being installed.. I've tried downloading and installing several times but the same message "couldn't install system update" is shown

I just set mine up. I found that 0% is too bright on its own, but 0% brightness plus night light works, so I put that on my quick settings.
The showstopper for me with this phone is poor noise levels on the 3.5mm audio output. I must have been spoiled by higher-end phones before this one if this is par for a budget phone. The lack of a notification LED was also not called out in the reviews I read.
I don't think I'll keep this as my daily phone. I hear the LG Q7+ calling.
Need ROM for Nokia 3.1 India firmware
Please add ROM for this device. I am not getting the firmware for this device.
I want to unlock the bootloader and root the phone (rooting is the purpose !) but it doesn't work as it says on websites.
I get the phone to the fastboot menu but it doesn't work :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot devices
ES2BA80801000972 fastboot
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot oem unlock
...
FAILED (remote: unknown command.)
finished. total time: 0.007s
any ideas ??
UPDATE :
It's interesting that the phone accepts this :
>> fastboot flashing lock_bootloader
but rejects this :
>> fastboot flashing unlock_bootloader
Am I missing something here ???
how to improve the battery life..i almost charge everyday for 1.5 - 2hrs.

Sapphire touch / GlocalMe G3
makes international hotspot's and seem to market primary to US Service members, I am in Kuwait and many people deployed here or come through have them. I have a Sapphire Touch which is android based. The device works well but the ROM it runs is very limited. Im interested in building / finding a custom rom that would add more features and usefulness. I took it apart and found it has all the features of a phone how ever many are not used by the stock ROM.
It has Wifi, 4G 3 Sim card slots also appears to have have an SD card slot, camera, speaker, microphone, GPS (No antenna) etc.
I took the Device apart and got some pictures in case anyone else is interested in the internals.
I need help with how to enable developer mode for start, would like to see if I can side load apps from ADB tools.
About shows a software version: G3_HTSv2.1.001.028.190613
I attempted to access the boot loader by power on holding Power and Vol Down, it seems to be a restricted boot loader as the only 2 options.
Recovery mode shows:
Android System Recovery <3e>
reboot system now
wipe data Factory reset.
When I plug the phone into a windows pc it shows a drive that I can not access or format (removable device)
I have the android ADB driver installed from the ADK, can not get the driver to show the device connected from command prompt.
I tried all the menus no amount of tapping on any options enables developer mode. On power on shows powered by android, has an android boot loader
Overview
Stay in touch with friends and family while traveling abroad with Sapphire Touch, the most advanced international mobile hotspot. With 100+ country international coverage, Sapphire Touch saves you time and money compared to buying a new puck, SIM card and data plan in each country you visit. Sapphire Touch has all that and a touchscreen that displays how much data remains. It's like having 100+ SIM cards, pre-installed. Unlike traditional pucks and SIMs, you're not locked in to one carrier. Sapphire Touch automatically searches for the strongest carrier, wherever you go, giving you the best coverage worldwide. Completely eliminate waiting in line and recharging in-store - Sapphire allows you to add and manage your data using the iOS/Android App or website from your phone or tablet. Stay connected to what matters most with 4G LTE Speeds. Keep up to 5 devices connected all day with Sapphire's 15+ hour battery life, plus use it as a USB Power Bank. Unlike many devices, Sapphire is also scanned for Malware by Norton before shipping. Model: ST1.
About Sapphire: Sapphire is an unlocked international mobile network solution designed to bring world travelers premium Wi-Fi on-the-go.
International coverage
4G LTE speeds
Secured WiFi - connect up to 5 devices
Travel friends - perfect for deployments, TDY or family vacations
Touch screen, shows data level
Power Bank - up to 15 hours
After some research I found this device is the same as a GlocalMe G3, I think sapphire may be re-branding, they both have apps that look the same as well.

Updates
From the pictures I found that the device uses it uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909
Searching for that led me to instructions on how to put the device int EDL Mode and use Fastboot commands . The instructions were for a Hisense F20.
Basically I Made a "Deep Flash" Cable with this wiring diagram.
And followed these instructions:
Power off device,Hold VOL - key,Put Deep flash cable Into device usb port with switch On (short the 2 wires) condition,Switch OFF the deep flash cable (disconnect the jumpered wires)
At that point it showed in windows device manager with a driver from ADB Driver package
Then I was able to see the device connected with the fastboot devices command
The oem unlock command would not work
At this point I am look for a way to be able to enable usb debugging to use ADB commands and possibly side load apps, Unlock the boot loader and install a different rom, possibly from a phone with the same processor. Any help or suggestions of where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.
List of fastboot oem commands that run, I have tried many from different manufactures most do not work.

I'd be interested to know if you found more. Currently have the glocalme g4 pro, and it asks for a password when trying to unlock developer options (clicking version). Not sure if this can be uncovered from the ROM.

Same here. I have the Sapphire Touch 2 (Glocalme G4 Pro) and have been able to interface with it through EDL mode with a deep flash cable. Was only able to access Fastboot mode after wiping the system image off of it with Miracle Box/Miracle Thunder. Fastboot commands that do run are the same as above. Miracle Box/QFIL can be used to flash stock system images but the only way I have found to get a copy of the stock image is through backing it up with Miracle Box. I haven't found anything online relating to it other than this post. Only stock images can be flashed and I cannot unlock the bootloader because the "OEM Unlock" option in the OS is restricted by the Developer Settings passcode. Cannot access ADB or file system through MTP or other means. If you can find more information or make some progress on this topic, please post about it.

Hello Fans of realme X50 5G,
Want to unlock your bootloader? Here is the step-by-step guide you have been waiting for - but please make sure to read the disclaimer too so you will know what to expect!
Keep in mind that the process of unlocking the bootloader will be referred to as in-depth test in the tutorial.
First, please read the “Disclaimer” carefully.
【Disclaimer】
1. After unlocking your phone ALL OF YOUR DATA WILL BE ERASED! Backup before you proceed.
2. In-depth test may have unforeseeable impacts on your phone.
3. Some functions may not operate properly because of third-party firmware, such as the photo-taking function of the camera. It may also cause device damage.
4. Personal and confidential information on phone may leak, and security may be compromised.
5. In-depth test may modify some of the system functions, and prevent you from updating the system version to enjoy the latest ColorOS.
Second, read the steps below for the in-depth test
Preparation:
realme X50 5G - with 60%+ battery
1 x USB Cable
1 x PC / MacBook
Step 1. Make sure you have backed up your data, unlocking your phone will erase all of your data.
Step 2. Make sure your system version is the official and latest one.
Step 3. Download and install the unlock tool apk on your phone.
View attachment DeepTesting_realme_X50.apk
Install it to apply for the bootloader unlock via the tool.

FAQ
Q1: How to relock the bootloader?
#1. Download the unlock tool again to apply to exit the in-depth test.
[IMG]https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5137187&stc=1&d=1605631133
Q2: Are there any risks after unlocking the bootloader?
Please be aware that realme cannot guarantee the full functionality, and will not be responsible, for any third-party unsigned custom ROM being flashed onto your device after the bootloader is unlocked. An unsigned third-party custom ROM may not have gone through the thorough tests that we run for each device and software version that we release.
A third-party custom ROM may not work properly on your device, and certain functions and services may cease to work. The performance and device data may also be affected, and may damage the device permanently. In the worst case, unlocking bootloader will cause physical injuries or material damage for ex. due to device overheating.
Q3: Will it affect future OTAs after unlocking?
Secure user data partition may also become inaccessible and you will not be able to get official software upgrades if you unlock the bootloader. Once re-locked the bootloader, users will receive official OTAs again.
Q4: Will it affect warranty?
Warranty will be fully applied to problems caused by realme 3 unlocking or flashing a custom ROM.
Q5: How to flash back the official ROM after installing a custom ROM?
Users need to go to a service center to flash the device FREE of charge.
Hello there, Thank you for your detailed explanation for unlocking bootloader for Realme X50 5G.
I used to download the deeptest apk from other website, but the result was not successful. The deeptest app said "my device is not supported."
My device model is RMX2025. And my quick question is this deeptest app will support RMX2025, won't it?

That's the sad story. Right now I found no deep testing app that supports RMX2025. So hopeless for this model. :crying::crying:
I have RMX2051 but when I install the deep testing apk, it opens and then the app closes immediately. Any idea why this happens?
Notes:
- OEM unlock is enabled
- All permissions for the app are enabled and I also restarted my phone but it still crashes
- USB debugging is enabled (though this isn't relevant for opening the app)
Could it be because I'm on Android 11 and this apk only supports Android 10?
If no solution.... what is the purpose of the deeptesting application? What would happen if I just skip this step and proceed to the fastboot tool step with the PC?

It is possible that your deeptesting app does not support Android 11 as you assumed. If you fail to run deeptesting and unlock your phone, your fastboot commands to manipulate the system will not work. That means you cannot skip deeptesting step for unlocking purpose. Another possiblility is Realme changed their mind and canceled unlocking all models of X50 5G. So there is no possible deeptesting app available for X50 5G again.
Anyways if you do intend to unlock your RMX2051, there are a couple methods that may work:
1. Downgrade your Android 11 to Android 10 by flashing tool to flash official firmware of Android 10. Or any possible ways to do this.
2. Try factory reset and install and run deeptesting app again.
3. Search and download deeptesting app for Android 11, if this may exist.
Hope one of this works.
I am seeking a way to root the Motorola G Power (2021) Boost Mobile/Sprint USA Variant without a PC.
The bootloader options are greyed out with the notice "connect to internet or contact your provider".
I noticed there was a Motorola bootloader unlock page via the official Motorola site. I will try that when I have access to PC.
In the mean time, any other root solutions or suggestions?
(Note) this is an edit the original post broke the rules of XDA on paid service talk, <My Bad> So I revised the OP.
I am not certain if there is a way to change the thread topic, but if there is a way to add a rooting tag to it, that'd be optimal. #Root

No problem at all. If I'd seen something against the rules I'd closed the thread as already stated but all is fine.
And negative, you can't delete or close/lock a thread. This always has to be accomplished by a moderator i.e. simply use the report button to alert the moderator team. Please be aware that threads never get deleted but only closed to avoid HTTP 404 errors after search engines have indexed XDA. Such errors provide a bad user experience that we obviously want to avoid. The only exceptions are spams (where we don't mind 404's) and duplicates; however, latter only immediately after they were created.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMs, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best ROM we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
What is R?
Our release of Android 11, titled CR-9.0.
It provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. R delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
3) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS stable build on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
The easiest way to do that is by installing the latest Version and then copy it by flashing the copy-partitions script made by LineageOS in the recovery. (See install Instructions for the recovery)
The recommended way to install is using the CarbonRecovery linked below.
Download the ROM, recovery.img from this thread and optionally GApps, reboot to recovery using
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Sideload the ROM. (Apply Update -> Apply from ADB -> Connect to PC ->
Code:
adb sideload CARBON-CR-9.0-R-WEEKLY-hotdogg-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip
Signature verification will fail. Press yes to install.
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps/MicroG through sideload like above (optional)
Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset (Make sure to have a backup of your data)
Done
Followup builds can be updated through the builtin CarbonDelta Updater or by dirtyflashing.

This ROM looks really dope. I am definitely going to have to give this one a try! Is everything fully functional?

Yes.
So is the carbonROM recovery a requirement? Or can you use twrp.

Afaik, installation requires CarbonROM recovery, or one of the others for this phone which are based on LineageOS recovery. However, since you can update through Carbon Delta Updater (Settings > System > System Updates), you can flash whatever recovery you want after installation.

Simple. Enable developer options. Toggle on OEM Unlock. Toggle on USB debugging. Plug phone into PC. Open a command window. Type adb devices. If it comes back with your serial number, you can proceed. Type abd reboot bootloader. Once the phone enters fastboot, type fastboot oem unlock. Use your volume keys to highlight do unlock bootloader on the phone. Then press the power button to select. Sit and wait for a few because unlocking the bootloader will wipe your phone. To relock the bootloader, do the same process but type fastboot oem lock instead of fastboot oem unlock. The locking process wipes the phone too.

Thank you I'll try and reply soon
For a few days it seems carbonrom.org is down. I'd like to try a different ROM with the option to switch back, but the newest version I have saved is 2021-11-22 and OTA obviously isn't working either. Is there an alternate download location?
