Substratum not working on Stock OOS 8.1 - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I have tried to use the rootless Andromeda way of enabling substratum themes but my themes compilation just freezes and substratum too. Currently all of my phones run Substratum themes including stock Android 8.1 and samsung 9.0 Stock Experience rom.
Had anyone been successful using rootless method.

try clearing data for substratum and try again. I'll try it tonight to see as well.

Rootless Substratum isn't going to work anymore, check this news: https://www.xda-developers.com/rootless-custom-themes-android-p/
Though I am not sure if the latest 5.1.8 update has that patch included.

Works for me perfectly.
Using Swift Black theme on OOS 5.1.8, Android 8.1.0 rootless.

RR Nougat ROM no themes

After installing ResurrectionRemix's first Nougat ROM for the hammerhead platform, I found that there was no theme engine installed. Is it typical of new releases to not include a theme engine, or is it possible this is something they forgot. If it's just something they forgot would it be possible to download something that can parse CM Theme Engine APKs and act as a replacement until themes gets implemented in the ROM?
(Just a sidenote, I have a nandroid backup of my device running the MM release, so if need be I can downgrade until such functionality gets added in)
You should inform yourself more before opening threads. There is no CMTE for nougat yet. Use substratum in legacy mode.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that they needed to update the theme engine along with everything else. Does substratum support CMTE themes?

Holy ****.. really man? Substratum is completely different from CMTE (On RR it uses the RRO legacy mode)
Just download sbstratum app from playstore, download a substratum legacy compatible theme , select overlays You want and instll them. Restart afterwards
If you want themes, go back to MM and wait.

OOS Oreo is already themable via rooted substratum and Andromeda
We cannot do anything about OnePlus breaking nougat releases of their operating system.
Hope this clears your doubts.

It's just that I wanted Substratum to be working on OOS just as it works in other OMS enabled roms

Themes/Themes engine for Rooted A6003 on Pie 9.0.2

Hi, guys. I just rooted my A6003 running OxygenOS v9.0.2
And I was wondering if Substratum works with it? If so, are there any additional tricks I should know? Or just install and run?
If not, are there any other alternative theme engines that I can look at? Thank you.
Substratum and swift installer works afais. Swift installer 100% anyways, I'm using it now.
Swift installer is amazing if you like darker colors, others theme on substratum does not work properly, use at your own risk

How to get substratum theme engine working on Pie

Hey,
Is it possible to get substratum working on Pie and if so how?
Thanks in advanced!

You can only do it with root. Google has blocked the overlays in Android 9.

Swift Installer on Android 10

I keep hearing about people using Swift and Substratum on Android 10 and I keep trying different themes for substratum meant for OxygenOS 10 but none of them work. Plus Swift flat out doesn't work with OOS 10 and it says "Android Q is not yet supported for your device". I just wanna have a dark QS with dark notifications.

Had the same problem. Then I switched to "Substratum lite" and now all is well. If you look in magisk, most likely the normal substratum app isn't installing the substratum magisk module on android 10 for some reason. That was my issue anyway.
