Custom Roms? S7 active - Samsung Galaxy S7 Active ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries

Hey!
I'm looking everywhere but I can only find root guides. Does anyone have any successful recovery installed like TWRP, FlashFire, anything or deodexed ROMS stock or otherwise? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I'm trying to get a custom recovery but can't find any info on it... any updates?

I obtained an S7 Active but I use Tmobile and wish to use their Wifi Calling. It's really a necessity around here. I don't even need a custom ROM per se now that I they have Package Disabler Pro (awesome!) but to use wifi calling I'd need a Tmobile ROM version. Root can be had now. Will a stock ROM from an S7 or S7 Edge work on the S7 Active or does it have to be modified to work with the S7 Active buttons ?

it has to be modified to work with the hard buttons or you'll miss out on the muti, back and active button use.
there is the ufirm rom along with a weird way for root but it works for nogat, not Oreo and its sadly a little dated. Minimnius worked on it and did a damn fine job at the time. I run it now. Sadly the battery has become too much lost to bare

I was using yet another S7 active with Android 8.1 and I had this problem where it wouldn't lock on a tower that has voice 4g available, but my old s7 active would ignore the nearby tower and go to one with 4g voice. The one that works was running something like stock 6.1. I want to flash the new one with the old stock 6.1 version. i tried everything on it and it's not going to work like the old one does. So i downloaded a few ROMs and the only ones the new s7 active will let me flash are version 8's. It won't take an older ROM. Can anyone tell me why this is or how to get around it ? Thanks!

[Q] Alliance rom not working

Ok so i have a new samsung galaxy s5 and i am a noob at flashing and everything but i flashed alliance rom for my phone but then i dont get any data signal or anything. so i restored my stock firmwire and everything went back to normal. then i tried flashing the m.o.a.r rom it works perfectly but i like alliance way better but i cant use alliance because i dont get any service at all. i am using SM-G900P with virgin mobile as my carrier. idk if i am doing something wrong here but it doesnt make sense that i dont get any data service at all,no data icon, and no first time set up like i get with the m.o.a.r rom i flashed. i would appreicate it if someone would point me in the right direction thank you.
that rom isn't made for your phone model, meaning its not a unified rom and doesn't have the right apns for your carrier's data connection. best thing to do is stay with a rom made for your phone model or find a unified rom.

it does show there but, if you really want that rom on your phone you'll need to read and search that rom thread for your phone model (g900p or try searching for sprint) and see if and how anyone got it to work on theirs. from my trys with that rom in the past i couldn't get it to work on my g900p phone. as for a rom to try , go with m.o.a.r. (lots to customize) or try a cm/asop unified rom (can customize allot with those roms too). or try all roms and become a flash-o-holic like most people on here including me. but i would say honestly, stay with any rom from the sprint galaxy s5 section as this is your first time flashing roms till you get the hang of it and really know what you are doing so you dont end up with a paper weight good luck and have fun!.

[Q] Advice plz Re flashed ROM on S4 (baseband problem)

I'd like some advice please on what to do next. I rooted then flashed my Samsung S4 with a new ROM named Imperium v16.1. Everything is fine except the classic issue of having little to no data connectivity. Wireless is fine and when people try to ring me it's fine. I try to ring out though I have to go into and exit airplane mode.
This is the first time I've flashing an android handset so I definitely put myself in the n00b category.
I'm at the stage that I just don't care what ROM I have I just need data connectivity to work again. Yes I was probably stupid it try it but you know what it's like. We all want to experiment!
I guess I have two questions. If I install another ROM will I just have the same problem? Also, from my research, I get the impression that the problem is that my handset's modem drivers/baseband(?) don't match the ROM. Is that accurate/likely?
Any advice or simple background into what's going on would be grand!!
Thanks community!

Your stock firmware was the outdated Jellybean 4.2.2. Flash latest stock firmware from HERE and you'll be able to use newer custom roms. And free user can cload with 300kb/s, don't be scared by the 15kb/s.
Thank you. I've got the download.. I'll give it a go this evening after work.
(wow the copy of Odin I picked up is full of bloatware.. Wonder if the source I got it from was a bit dodge)
That has worked beautifully! Thank you very much.
Gosh, I had forgotten how bloaty and boring the stock ROM is.

Note Pro 12.2 rooting, VZW or AT&T?

Hi, reading through the forums, it sounds like rooting a Note Pro 12.2 on Verizon is either very difficult, or impossible? I'm going to buy one of these for either VZW or AT&T to test for my team of 6 salespeople to use in the field and would need it to be rooted so we can use multi window on all apps. Would prefer VZW because I have most of my devices there now and use Message+ which is awesome for texting on all my devices. But if I have to go AT&T to root, I'll do that - I think this functionality is more important to us. I'd appreciate any input you have on this, and also if someone would be willing to walk me through the rooting process I'd be happy to compensate. Thanks, Scott

Rooting the Verizon model is very easy as long as it is on Android 4.4 (Android 5.1 was recently released for it and is not rootable)
The instructions here are what I used, they are very straightforward: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795630
The downside to the carrier models is that they have locked bootloaders.
So even though you can get root access you wont be able to install Roms or alternate recovery images and such, so you would be stuck on android 4.4.
You would be able to do everything you normally could do on a rooted 4.4 stock rom though.
I have the Verizon model (SM-P905V) and I love it, I currently have a T-mobile sim in it and it gets LTE with no issues.
if you want to be able to root, install a custom recovery and install roms as well as have mobile Broadband you would need the international LTE model (SM-P905) but they are increasingly hard to find for some reason.

7.1/7.0 Rom Options for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 ( SM-T817T )

I've got an SM-T817T running T-Mobile 6.0.1. It sounds like we may not get 7.0, definitely not 7.1. It's already unlocked, I want to upgrade it to 7.X. Is there a good 7.1 ROM? Preferably NOT T-Mobile, I don't want the bloat if I can avoid it. I used to love Cyanogen but all the "CM is dying, use XXXX" instead is getting old. I do use it as a backup for my laptop for work so I can't run super-bleeding edge, it needs to be able to run most normal stock apps, etc.
Suggestions?
Robert

Thats a nice list, but it doesn't tell me which are "stable" and which will work on my SM-T817T ( can I use the Stock SM-T817? on a friends Galaxy 6 to upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 he had to use a -A since it was ATT branded and couldn't go to a non-branded stock. ).

Don't know, but, this is a Galaxy tab 2 forum.
I bet flashing wrong firmware onto the wrong device will make a brick though.
It's a Tab 2 I want to update though. I just want to know if I can use a Samsung Stock ( non-T-Mobile ) image or do I have to use a Cyanogen ( or is there currently better ) to get away from a T-mobile branded ROM.

Stock ROM for Galaxy Avant?

Hey folks! Wrong forum for this device, but the Galaxy Avant seems to be too obscure to have a forum even in this category, and I think I heard somewhere the Core is similar. Total shot in the dark, but can anybody hook me up with a stock ROM for the Avant (G386T)? I'm on T-Mobile and they're shutting down the 3G network this summer. I'm still using my Avant with a custom ROM (oops, no backup), which means no VoLTE, so I guess calling and texting are going to break/degrade when the shutdown happens.
I'm fine with taking this opportunity to upgrade to a new device, but this phone has been going strong for 8 years and I kinda want to see how long it can last. Stock seems to be the way to go, and T-Mobile and Samsung can't help me.

did it work?
Hey, thanks for the link! I downloaded the file but I'm still figuring out how to flash the data. Will post an update later.
By the way, Galaxy Avant has a Snapdragon 400 chipset and it supports 4G.sooo you dont have to worry about internet and calls.
Oh, are you saying that even with my CyanogenMod ROM I should be able to call over 4G? I do know that 4G data is working on the current system but it was my understanding that to call on 4G required VoLTE. Am I wrong there? That would be great news.
