Noble rom nougat running on g920v ! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Dont use noble nougat ! Use ultimate nougat under the unified development . There are 3 different versions either one is okay. Everything works on ultimate nougat but noble lags a good bit.
Each one has a description on what it does and has. All are bebloated + custom tweaks. Check them out. Any touchwiz rom should work. As long as ported to sg g920f.
You have to be on nougat stock firmware. At least thats all ive tried. You can try on 5.1 as long as you follow my guide. Go to this site - https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/root-nougat-s6-verizon-t3710864 and download the files he has on his post. Thats how you root on nougat.
If you are on nougat, switch to bootloader mode, open odin, and click on ap and select the eng root. Then reboot and go to settings/security and tick unknown sources. Then extract the unroot file you downloaded and run the file that says root.bat and give your phone a few minutes. It will restart and supersu will be installed. If it doesnt work the first time try again
Now you need to download flashfire. And download the custom touchwiz rom you want. Again you can find them under unified developement. And gapps if you want. I use aroma installer to pick what apps i want to be system apps.
Once you are rooted have supersu and flashire, youll need to set you year on the date back to 2013 or flashfire wont open correctly. It does that on my phone atleast you can try it out. When u have flashire open click on the + at the bottom right and click flash zip or ota. Click on the ron youve downloaded and then select the box next to mount system read and write . Then press the + button again and add a wipe action. Just leave it on what it automatically tics. Make sure you hold down on the wipe action before hitting the flash button at the bottom and put it above the rom installation. So youre phone restores first. Do not tick internal storage on the wipe action you will brick your phone bc no sd card.
Flashfire should take you through an aroma installer for the rom depending on the one youve downloaded. Make sure to pick g920f kernel.
Go through chek what you want and then install. As long as you hit the mount system read and write button on the wipe action back in flashfire it will install and not get stuck on %20 or %25. Once its done let it reboot your phone will come to a crash screen. A blue one with a warning sign saying software failure or something. You need to hold the power button volume down and homd button until it cuts off. The do the same thing to turn it on in download mode and flash the eng root file in ap again from odin and your phone will boot. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to boot.
I installed xposed and all kinds of other tweaks to this rom as well. Let me know how it works out for you . Im going to upload photos in the replies.
Able to flash and open twrp but no function.

Just Google a touchwiz rom ported to galaxy s6 and follow my instructions. I've tried 2 others. Everything seems to be working other than if you are not rooted there is intense lagging from time to time.

I have some questions, is this on 5.1.1 rooted with mrmikes root? Is the rom pre-rooted? Is it debloated? And does it have s health?

this needs a more in-depth description, when i tried it, i flashed it on 5.1.1, i got to the setup of the rom, i chose the international s6, i didnt know which one to choose, then the CSC variant, i chose one of them which had a description like "multi us, it started installing, it got to 25%, then the screen just went black, i opened rootatboot, it succesfully worked, but my phone screen is still black, what are we supposed to do?

Sorry i updated my op check it out ^^
And if you have black screen then boot to odin mode and flash nougat. I know for sure it works on there. And if you follow my steps i suggest using ultimate nougat note fe rom. Its bloatware free and smooth as butter. Has aod edge screen and alot more tweaks.

For me the note fe rom downloads at 700kb/s why? roms usually download at like 7-8 mb/s

Not able to do it, When i flash stock nougat with odin, it gets stuck on the galaxy s6 logo after reboot. Then i factory reset and wiped cache partition, and its still stuck there. So i had no choice but to downgrade to 5.1 again. Now i flashed the pre rooted official nougat rom with flashfire, and once i was on nougat i was gonna flash the custom rom. But, when you try to flash something in flashfire on the pre rooted nougat rom it gives me an error saying an unknown error has occured. Now im back at rooted 5.1. Help anyone?

Would you like me to upload a backup of my rom that you can just flash in flashfire? Or post a video of me showing how to do this.

I'd reccommend video and flashfire, you can make a video of how to do it and make it easier by flashing it in flashfire, so a tutorial on how to flash it on flashfire correctly.

Followed the procedure but flashfire just remains blank on boot... why?

Did you check the box that said mount system read and write when clicking on the file to flash ? And did you add a wipe action before adding the rom ? And are u rooted with super su ?

yes... followed everything to the letter. Was having issues with the flashfire but i downloaded the pro apk and it acquired root permission without crashing... I used flashfire .57 pro to flash the pre rooted rom but the flashfire in the pre rooted rom also crashed after aquiring root so I uninstalled it and downloaded the .73 pro apk and that worked but it doesn't flash the rom no matter what options I choose. Tried so many combinations... I put the wipe before the flash and i also tried vice versa, tried with flash procedure set to normal, recovery, download and all still came out with the same outcome = Blank flashfire with 2015-2017 screen. So i just restart the device and everything is normal. Using the pre rooted rom for now

Okay do everythig you did again but before opening flashfire you need to turn off wifi. Go to settings and date and time. Turn off automatic date and time and set year to 2013 then re open and use flashfire. That was my original problem.

I've tried everything to get mobile data and service to work that is the only bug but makes this thread a complete bust until I can find a work around or fix for it.

I use my s6 as a backup phone but something is wrong with my s7 so i use my s6 more, and i dont use a verizon sim so i use my s6 with no sim. So, if you can, can you make still make a video for it? other people who flash it might find a way to get service to work.

4.4.2 KitKat without Orange garbage

This help is obsolete because now it is possible to download Nordic 4.4.2 version I9506XXUCNG3 without Garbadge.
Hi all,
If you want to install a new 4.4.2 without Orange start animation and applications
You have to immediately after flashing 4.4.2 (before start of Android) flash this hidden image from 4.3:
1) Flash hidden.tar.md5 below by ODIN.
hidden.tar.md5
Or if you already start your phone after flashing 4.4.2
1) Flash hidden.tar.md5 above.
2) After that you have to also flash system.tar.md5 from link bellow (I've took it from 4.4.2)
system.tar.md5
3) If you had rooted your phone, you have to root your phone again. (Same with xPosed Installer, Bussybox, Density changer etc.)
I flashed already incl the orange stuff....i tried youz zip via recovery...doesn't let me install

It's the same thing...
Hi,
I've slightly modified my post about Orange garbadge.
I just did it and got it to work, here's some clearer instructions:
Untick the auto reboot box in Odin (don't tick any other boxes, just have "F. Reset Time" checked, and then flash I9506XXUCNG3_I9506FTMCNG1_I9506XXUCNF3_HOME.tar.md5.
Once it completes (it will say RES for a while afterwards but eventually it will change to "PASS" in a green box) wait a bit and then power off the phone (10 seconds of holding the power button).
Start the phone in download mode the same way you got into it to flash the firmware (home, power and volume down). In Odin tick the Auto Reboot box and then change the File [download] AP from the firmware to the hidden.tar.md5. Hit [START] and once it's all done the phone will reboot.
You'll find if you're coming from 4.3 the phone will say "updating applications" for a while and all of your data and apps should remain intact.
I chose to go to settings and factory reset the phone for a fresh experience but if you don't experience any issues then you should be alright.
I don't know anything about root, recoveries or dev for 4.4.2 so don't ask
For anyone wondering I flashed from a Vodafone Australia i9506 and everything is working perfectly except for the samsung keyboard, I'll probably have to put the APK for google's keyboard and install it manually to be able to test the phone properly but so far it's looking promising.
EDIT: A long work around method to fix the keyboard issue was to use S-Voice to do a google search for the Google Keyboard APK. It downloaded and installed and now I can set up the Play Store and get the up to date version, and continue testing. I will report back in this post.
EDIT 2: After the long process of updating everything I can report that everything works; The camera, GPS, 4G, Wifi, sensors. The only thing that's broken is the "Samsung Hub" application, it launches but then dies. No biggy for me because I use Googles apps (including the Google launcher).
Perfect! Done all like juzza87 said... GUIDE WORKS!!!!
The keyboard doesnt work because of the modification of the hidden and CSC. That´s a known error.

D801-20G OTA Update from t-mobile..

I got this update a few days ago on my rooted Tmobile G2. Applying the update bricked my phone, as it was stuck in a recovery boot loop. Had to use this:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ricked-lg-g2-stuck-twrp-no-download-mode.html
to get it unstuck. Also, I tried the LG Support Tool to pull the update, but it was trying to download a 1.7gig update. I cancelled it before the install process in the fear that it would bork my phone.
Has anyone gotten the update to install successfully on their phone? (rooted)
I got the update but didn't run it. I learned my lesson last time. I'd love to know what it brings and how to install it though.

I'm there but can't figure out how to type in terminal command, can you help me out with this? I'm stuck in the recovery boot loop.
*EDIT* nevermind I figured it out after a factory reset though UGH!
I also got the update notification. I deleted 213MB upgrade file in cashe. It was in the root of cashe folder not in /cashe/foa/. I still get the stupid upgrade notification. How can we kill it? I have Titanium backup but software MUC is not an option on our phones.
OK found how to turn it off. Long press the update, App Info pops up, uncheck show notifications. Clear cashe and then reboot.
You can use stomproot (brute force method) to root this OTA. towelroot won't work. Before applying OTA, make sure custom recovery is replaced with stock recovery. Otherwise you will end up in boot loop.

Can confirm this works...thanks...autorec still works as well
If I have not installed a custom recovery, but just rooted the phone with AutoRec, will it soft brick my phone? Since I don't have TWRP or CWM, I would have no way to enter adb shell. So, it sounds like if I soft brick it, I'd have to restore factory settings to get it to boot, right? Are there any significant improvements to the 20g versus the 20e? Thanks.
I got this this morning and installed it...no issues whatsoever. Not sure what its for, but I got it.
Im stock unrooted.
I ended up going with the LG support tool method and installed the update (1.7gigs)...not really sure what the changed though. Root was lost, but I used Stump Root to get it back and everything is normal again. If anyone has the list of changes, plz post

As long as you deleted the update you can safely press the install button...it may or may not actually power off...but if it doesn't just reboot after pressing and the notification will be gone...also to prevent it from downloading in the future you can dial 3845#*80X# and click wlan test then ota setting and click disable...you can re-enable by going through the same process and pressing enable...works for most variants
Mine tried to update: it rebooted, said it was installing while showing a progress bar and then it stopped and restarted. Nothing changed.
Does anyone know what this update is? Preliminary to the lollipop update?
Any idea why my nearly stock system didn't take the update. I am rooted with towel root and several apps disabled and frozen with Titanium.
Thanks

Same here, just rooted, no custom recovery and went through the update process. Completed update, still on e not upgraded to g
Plugged into LG Mobile Support Tool and updated that way, ran STUMPROOT and bruteforced. Rebooted and had root ^_^ Updated SuperSU binaries and rebooted once more and ran AutoRec. Now time to update everything again and remove the bloat they put back on.
Also to find the dialer code to update touch software, knock on isn't working. :silly:

From what I saw on androidpolice it includes in-flight wifi stuff and some patches. Probably blocking some of the older rooting methods
Took the update last night, i was rooted with stock recovery but it went through just fine. Now when i try to root via StumpRoot it says my device is rooted before i even do anything. I don't have root access though.
Anyone else experience this problem? I've already tried a factory reset but still no-go.
this "update" seems absolutely useless. however, it could be nice to get a flashable radio from it.

Systemless Instructions - How to - 09/11/2016

These are the steps that I took to finally get systemless root and xposed. Android pay works now. I thought I would share this. It took me over 5 days of many many wipes and restores. I will also discuss some of my phone quirks in here. The reason why I am discussing these quirks is to explain that every phone is very very unique and if people do not have enough experience, they will end up with very different results
Standard disclaimer: Not responsible for anything that goes wrong with your phone
I also would consider this to be moderate difficulty, its not really for beginners due to multiple pre reqs and terminology
I would consider this very early beta at best, sometimes xposed does not stick, so far I think I finally figured out how to make it stick with every reboot.
I- My phone:
I have V10_H901_V20J_Stock_Custom_2e-signed , so obviously I had to go through the pain of understanding that thread. If your phone is already on that rom , then you must have TWRP in place by now. That of course is a prerequisite.
II- Visit the following threads, Credit goes to all the developers there, I am merely putting it as a write up.
A- This is the main thread, honestly, didn't love the instructions there, hence why I am doing this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-magisk-v1-universal-systemless-t3432382
you will need to download the following from that thread ( but I put in the links to the right files)
There is no need to place in any specific folder, I usually put every thing on my external SD
1- Magisk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=19960&task=get
Place it anywhere you can easily access it.
Edit added 09/11/11: magisk controller app : http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=19924&task=get
2- PHH systemless SU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3847928&stc=1&d=1471642336
PHH super user app to work with systemless root :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.phh.superuser
B: Xposed systemless thread: here is the main thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
1- Download Systemless xposed: xposed-v86.5-sdk23-topjohnwu.zip form : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3847909&d=1471640756
2- download the xposed material design app to control xposed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=19668&task=get
Steps - This is what worked best for me, I have heard numerous times on the v10 stock rom thread that our roms come in with systemless root. I can never get that to work systemless. If you know a better way, feel free to share the knowledge.
1- Back up ! use TWRP, Here is quirk number one from my very special phone: TWRP restores fail if the phone is hot. They do not restore properly. Do what you need to do to keep your phone cool if you need to restore. I have tested this about 5-8 times in the past 3 days. If my phone is pre-cooled ( use your imagination ), it restores 100 % without missing apps or errors. If it gets hot, then I get app crashes, errors, and all sorts of corruption.
2- Uninstall xposed if you have it running on your device - THIS IS A MUST make sure you use the official uninstaller that came with your xposed version
3- unroot your phone. use SuperSU app to unroot your phone: Do restore the system boot when prompted, do NOT restore original recovery, you need twrp obviously.
4- Boot into recovery manually: Now I feel like this is most confusing part about LG phones, and its never really well written:
Power down the phone
hold the volume down
with the volume down being held ( do not let go) , press the power button, until the LG logo appears, as soon as that happens, let go for 1/2 second then press the power button again ( this whole time the volume down button should be pressed ). You will get two prompts of warning, if you are successful, about the device being erased, it will not get erased You will simply just boot into TWRP
5- Flash the following in order , do not queue, TWRP is finicky at best for our phones , never queue
- Magisk from step A - 1
-phh super user A - 2
6- reboot phone. Your phone is now systemless rooted, the root can be turned on/off on demand.
You will find magisk app on your phone, do not start , it will simply crash
you will need to install the PHH super user app from step A- 2 , this is a simple apk from the play store.
then you can mess with magisk if you would like, I will explain it's options later
7- Uninstall whatever xposed controlled app you used to have, install the material design xposed app controller from B-2
8- now that you have root, reboot to recovery, using whatever app you use to simple reboot into recovery (quirk alert: I can never find a way to include reboot to recovery from the power menu, no matter what mods I have)
9- flash systemless xposed from B -1 . wipe dalvik/cache 3 x , wait for your phone for 500 years to boot up
10- you are now systemless. go into the xposed app and check all the modules to re-enable them
11- VERY VERY IMPORTANT: xposed does NOT stick with simple reboots, soft reboot, or recovery reboot.
09/25/16 : update. Xposed now trips safety net. Even if it's systemless. Some reports also say Magisk will trip it. Sorry but this guide is now obsolete.
Great guide works perfect!!!
I'm running this systemless train [powered by magisk] really smooth. I'm running rooted stock MM with no issues at all. I can reboot with G4tweakbox mod, Xposed sticks every time and is very stable.
This probably has been asked and answered a thousand times, but since we can unlock the bootloader can't we just flash TWRP after that and than do these Step?
No

Not really
Here are the problems we faced with MM onwards
1- LG disabled the flash commands with MM, even though its is an unlocked bootloader. Hence why you have other threads with instructions on how to circumvent the good old fastboot flash commands.
2- TWRP needs compatibility with the v20J update. I am not sure if we have any devs working on that
So we are in an appleisk like situation with the newest update. No dev = no further progress, unless you want to loose root and recovery . You have the wonderful people here at XDA to thank for that, who constantly b**** at developers for that.
I Have tons of bugs on marshmallow , but I refuse to update until this situation is fixed. Next phone is nexus. I am so tired of all this BS with all the other manufacturers.

You need to power down your phone fully. Then power up . That is my personal experience. and I have tried it over 5 times and now it sticks with every boot.

It will say in the xposed app that xposed is installed but not active.

Are you using the layers app with hydra installed? Removing it might help you out. Once I did that I had no issues keeping Xposed to stick and may be a bug with v3
This was very well written and easy to follow. Systemless root and xposed are running perfectly! Thank you
Can someone provide me an alternative link for PHH systemless su? OP link not working for me

Sorry man , I fixed all the links.
I feel like an idiot....I've been trying this for 2 days and no success. Used KDZ to get to bone stock J build, then used the .tot updrade to get TWRP and rebooted, now I have an unrooted stock rom with twrp. I adb reboot into recovery and successfully flash magisk and then successfully flash phh superuser but after I reboot I don't have root.....Can anyone assist?
EDIT: Nevermind.....apparently I was flashing Magisk v3 and not v6...not sure how that happened. I rebooted into TWRP, flashed magisk v6 and then phh superuser and I now have root.
Thank you for the guide.

Trying opening the link outside of xda labs app. I loaded the link in Firefox and now it downloads properly
Can some one provide me an explanation of what it means to have a systemless setup and the benefits of that!?
I installed as you instructed and It mostly works great. Thank you. May I ask what settings you use for Viper4Android (External Speakers)? I am not sure on how to get it working. I installed the systemless version you posted. I am also using the same ROM you are. However when I enable Viper4Android, I notice no difference whatsoever in the sound of my external speakers... Just playing an mp3 via Google play music. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

For the life of me I can not get this working with the systemless xposed installed. With just root everything is fine. As soon as I install xposed it immediately fails. I tried the newest version and the version linked in the directions. Viper also works fine. Just not xposed.

OK so this is redundant,so I apologize in advance. But
1- you can not install xposed over the same version without creating problems. You can only go up in versions when installing. Not sure why but this is my personal experience.
2- when all else fails, uninstalling magisk and xposed and re install. If still fails then delete your system partition and restore an older back up (hopefully you did back up). From there repeat the process. Always start with fresh files if it pertains to your problem. Meaning, Re-download xposed systemless.
Good luck

Actually found out Google updated safenet the other night where it stopped working with xposed installed with magisk. Without xposed everything still passes. Had to use the other method of not using magisk and using suhide and that method still works with everything.

It'll have to be a Nexus 6p, or older because the Pixel phones will supposedly have locked bootloader.
Thanks for the great step-by-step directions!!! Had been reading all of these related threads trying to make sure I knew what order to do everything. Followed the steps as written. Checked when I got root, before installing xposed, and SafetyNet showed green. Installed xposed and rebooted - only issue I had here was when it finished updating apps and got back to my home screen - all of my app shortcuts on all screens were gone, including the bottom line. The widgets I had previously were still there. So it just took a few minutes to re-do all my screens - not that big a deal to get all this done!
But then I had the same problem as nookie1916, SafetyNet and Android Pay would not work now. So I tried turning off the xposed framework and rebooting, and that worked - SafetyNet showed green again and I was able to load my Chase Visa onto Android Pay. Then turned xposed back on and rebooted.
So it's not quite the way I wanted it - but I use xposed features much more than I need Android Pay.
Thanks for your help!!!!!

FlashFire!

Hey guys, has anybody seen that the flashfire app has been updated to work for our pixels? I've installed and can confirm that it sees both boot slots and everything seems good but I havent had time to actually attempt flashing anything with it. Still, with the silly number of steps we have to go through to flash mods and updates to this device, I feel like this app could really cut back on some of the hassle. Thoughts?

Yes I was going to try to do a back up. When I pick slot b it shows double of every partition is that normal? I never have used FlashFire
If I pick slot a it looks normal I think
To be honest I'm pretty that I've never seen it list two of everything like that with another device but not positive. I'm running a backup right now then I'm going to try flashing stuff

just did one. I did a reboot and opened it up and it shows it just one time. But if I close FlashFire and reopen it. It shows double or triple partitions. If I reboot system it's OK again. Might just be a glitch.

Just tried to update 7.1.2 OTA with flashfire on a rooted Pixel with Adaway.
Major fail. It put the device into a boot loop.
Download 7.1.1 April security patch zip and flash OK
Then download 7.1.2 zip and flash OK
Root access intact for all time.
Now I want to stretch for other mods like WETA audio MOD.
Is it possible?
P.S. WETA mentioned that only support TWRP

Always on display keeps stopping after re-install

I rooted my device and happily started debloating.
AOD (which I really do not need) also had to go, but it seems this is giving me issues with my lock screen. The issue being that there is no clock widget installed, causing me to have a lock screen only showing an ICE number. There is minimal and not being able to tell the time at a glance...
I tried re-installing, but it keeps force closing on me (cannot modify the settings, device freezes for short times). No permanent damage; but I cannot get it to work.
Tried clearing cache and data for AOD, of no avail.
Anyone know what I am missing in order to get it re-installed?
Thank you!

Still on stock ROM; had to use Odin just yesterday to fix an issue with the Play Store (same thing; issue, had to uninstall, continued force closes).
How can I flash the stock ROM (given it is 3,5 GB)? Put it on my SD card and flash with TWRP?
Thanks.
Just download the stock ROM zip for your device and carrier from sammobile and Flash using odin using download mode on your phone.
If you were rooted is simpler, just download a stock based ROM like SolDier's and flash it through TWRP.

How about installing AOD and then setting it as a system app with Magisk? There's a mod available to do that. Maybe it'll work then? Definitely worth a try before reflashing stock.
Also make sure you install a compatible version from APK Mirror. Most newer versions aren't compatible with the Galaxy S8. Go ahead and install 3.2.80.4 (that's the one I have installed on my phone right now).
Perhaps try installing that version and then try it out before going through the procedure of installing Magisk.
Hope that works for you.
see whether it disabled or no

This works almost! No continued forced closes; however the screen on action takes forever (in comparison to other actions on the S8),
I am just wondering how come the re-install does not work properly. Titanium removed the APK; I install another one.
Why is AOD acting weird?
