Does Mango fix the basics ??

Will Mango fix the basic functions that were missing when released?
None of the recent reviews seem to address this..
1. Can you listen to movie audio via bluetooth headset ?
2. Can you prevent sms notifications appearing - especially on the lock screen ?
3. Is there now a detailed CALL History ?
4. Can you delete history of recent people, photos, music etc ?
5. Can you forward emails and text messages ?
6. Any sign of SMART Dialing ?
7. Can you SMS to a contacts 2nd mobile number ?
I am sure there are other small things I cant think of...

Call history has been beefed up quite a bit. Not sure exactly what you are looking for though.

You have already been able to do this with emails & text messages/mms.
Not sure on the rest, I haven't been specifically looking for those though with the exception of smart dialing, which I do not think is in Mango.

7) Yes and this is already possible. Just create a second contact and link them together. Kind of hacky true, but it works.

Ι am sure that you never had an WP7 device for everyday use ...
I think you just play with one for while ..but not for every day use

@colossus_r what is your POINT !!!!!!!!!!
I`ve had a Samsung Omnia since October and carry it everyday along with my Blackberry for work.... but I dont have time to f%%k about trying to work out things that are not obvious!!! My phone is pre-nodo btw if that makes a difference..
About Question 5
Now I am looking at a text message on the phone I press the three dots (...) and the options are send (which just does a reply) and attach. Exactly how do I forward to a different person as it does not seem clear...
About Question 7
Also how would I know that to sms to a 2nd number in contacts I would have to create a 2nd contact for the same person and then link them!!!

Come on, jam. Calm down, everyone entitled to their opinions, if you dont like it ignore it.
If you youtube the windows phone mago review you will see some of the features in action which could help some of the questions you havent asked.

Press and hold on a msg, you will see the option for forward. Its pretty easy to find out. That's why the other guy was questioning if you have used a wp7 phone on a daily base. Yeah, you do need to calm down a bit. If those features were important to you, a quick search would have solved your problem.

In my opinion, NoDo fixed the basics. WP7 was horrid before NoDo. Mango is supposed to go beyond the basics with added features bringing WP7 up to the level of other smartphones.

what about contact search in mango? anybody has info on whether we can search by company or still by name only?

Not sure, but there are groups anyway, so you could set up business groups.

1. Dont know, hope so.
2. Dont know again, doesnt really bother me, though, just swipe to the right and it disapears.
3. Yes
4. Dont know, wouldnt use it, so havent looked.
5. Both availble since launch, just hold on the text and click foward (three dots wont work, because how the hell is the phone supposed to know which text you want to foward.) Email just press the lower left icon and it says Reply or Forward, choose forward... Incredibly simple.
6. Dont know, hope so.
7. If there is a second number in your contact you can just do it from the people hub anyway.

Company search for Exchange 2007/2010 always worked always worked I think ...but Exchange 2003 company search (GAL) was enabled in NODO

Email - I just realised that I actually did know previously that you could forward email but forgot as I have been mainly using Company Blackberry for email for a few months now...
SMS - I agree I didnt think it through properly and didnt think about the conversation mode would mean requiring a long press... looked a few times and tried short presses but just assumed it was a missing feature.

When I start typing something in the "People" application, it finds it whether it's in the name, company or notes field of my address book. Google apps synced account, if that's of any interest, but I see no reason it wouldn't be global.

[Q] Noob Sensation question about Calendar, SMS/MMS/Phoning

I just searched the entire forum for Sensation questions about this.
Anyway its my first Android Phone and so far my experience is really good but for 2 issues.
After I made a master Reset because for some reason after the update from HTC to 1.35.401.1 just so you know I am on this update now the issues where there before this update.
Anyway my first issue or question is with the Calendar and its damn reminder/notification option, I just came from Sony Ericsson Satio/U1i where when I have created the event and go to remind/notifies me I get following options: Date and Time where I can set it to remind me of this even at the date and time I want. Where in the Calendar on HTC I only get the option of X Minuts/Hours/Days/Week preset by Google or HTC not sure who, no 100% free customization is there a Fix for this or something, I have searched the web and the market for anything that could do what I needed, but so far come up short, I normally demand my events to tell me the day before at 6PM that I next day have something planned, and atm I can trow this phone and all the apps and calendars I found into a wall and tell it to well never come back. Its the worst useless Calendar i ever seen. Anyway Anyone know a fix for this or a app I have missed that give me 100% customization over this?
My second issue or Question is for some reason when I wanna make a phone call or makes a new text/mms and wanna find the person to call am I showed both my phone Contacts and my Sim contacts even tho I told under persons to hide my Sim contacts, is there no way to make sure it do not show the damn sim contacts without having to delete them?
I hope you can help and I'm truly sorry if I missed anything that answer this but I searched Sensation department for it and found nothing giving me this answer.

calendar: can't you just download another calendar app that works how you want it? it's not the worst calendar you've ever seen just because it doesn't do 1 thing that you want it to do
contacts: people still have sim contacts? since android, i have found it far more convenient to just have all my contacts set up as google contacts, and just sync that...maybe you can set up your sim contacts as a 'group' and then only view specific groups when you want them?

I know my writing in English is not that good because its not my main language and also because i have a mild dyslexia, but I did write in the Calendar part that I have since I found out of this issue tested many if not every single Calendar APP I could find. I also tried APP's that claimed to improve on the original Calendar yet non did what I needed, Either there where no option to set a Reminder/Notification or if there where it used the build in version = UTTER CRAP. Hence why I ask here in hope someone know something that could do it, I have not tested the ones you have to buy as I have no refund chances in case it does not work well those I found has not and Google confirms that, so since I can't read anywhere they have it will I not waste my money on it just yet.
And Yes it is the worst Calendar on the fact no Company like Google who claims to make something for everyone including BIG BUSINESSES, would in their right mind send out something That do not allow for 100% customization over the reminder/notification in it like this, No wonder Google keeps scoring low in making good products for Businesses in this area. Had Google not claimed to make something GOOD and something that everyone including big businesses could use then I would agree then its just a stupid move and sad move.

Hmm yes I know I could delete my Sim Card Contacts I just hoped to avoid it as I kinda like it you know Nostalgic? I mean I still have a Commedore 64, Amiga, Nitendo and so forth just because I love the nostalgic part in it .

About Ring Volume...

Get the app Volume+ from here. Mess around with the settings but be careful. It helps a lot.

Ok. So my grandfather is a tech freak and he asked me to find him a good touchscreen phone, so I thought that WP7 would be a good choice for someone of his age because the size of the tiles...
He uses his phone only to make phone calls and to add/edit contacts. Maybe read (not write) a message once a week...
That's why I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is an app/tweak that would allow me to add a tile that would work as a direct CALL shortcut to a person it is linked to? The way Android and jailbroken iOS do...

You can pin contacts to your homescreen.

You don't need to jailbreak the phone to do this.
Go to your contact list. Tap on the person you want to have on the home screen and you will find three buttons at the bottom. Click on the 'pin' button and you will have that person on your home screen! Simples.
EDIT; I meant you don't need to jailbreak 'a windows phone' to do this
And this might be better off in Question & Answers section.

To add to this also, you can make a group and pin it also to the screen, like "Family". When you click on the group it will only show those that you placed in it which you can click on to call, text ec.

But I didn't get a reply on one thing... Can that tile be used as a direct call shortcut? Without it opening the contact info and than selecting a number to call.

By default it cannot. But an app could be written to do this. It will still require a confirm to call, similar to using the SmartDialer app.
There are plenty of apps that will take you to favorites to directly dial a specific number of a contact. Unfortunately, none of the ones I found allow you to pin that particular favorite to the main screen. Maybe I should write an app to do this.

How about "Lightning dial" app? It will save you a lot of homescreen tiles.

Hello everyone
I searched the web and somehow it looks like nobody else tried it before. Weird.
Anyway, after long time I've decided to backup my whatsapp photos and move them to the computer. There are a lot of images from many different people, and I want to organize the photos in different directories according to the different contacts. I can't do it one by one, and unsuccessfully tried to find an automatic tool/app for that.
It must be possible to do, since when I enter a contact there an option to see the media only with that person, but I don't even know at which file that information should be.
Does someone know or have a solution for me?

Seems to be a wanted tool, so I am also currently developing it as an Android native application.

Is there any way to screenshot an entire whatsapp conversation?
From beginning to end.
So it fould be 1 large/long screenshot. I dont want to do multiple "manual" screenshots.

No way ... Take multiple screen shots and merge them by using Photoshop.

There is one app called "Panoramic Screenshot" in the play store. With a little practice you can achieve good results.

Before posting this comment here i was actrually searching for some easy method to capture whatsapp chats to image. But all the solutuions provided are either
1. Take individual screenshots and stitch them or
2. Some paid apps which forces you to pay to remove water mark on the screen shot.
More over i didnot find any app or software solution which takes scrolling whatsapp screenshot. I searched 2 days. And finally come up with my own unique solution with a free software :laugh:. I wrote a article about "Take screenshots of long chats in whatsapp" and created a video too.

well i have MI Note 3 phone,,,and their is more easy way without any app,,,i dont know abt other mobiles but u can try,,so suppose i hv long conversation,,so i go where it starts and through slide menu or button combinations took a screenshot now click on that small screenshot appeard on ur screen for a second,,,,now their is a SCROLL option,,,click on it,,,it will show a conversation scroll as far as u want and click on OK which is right on the bottom,,,,and thats it,,,the entire conversation will be stored as a single screenshot in your gallery,,,
