You can root it and use the regionlock away apk to remove the region lock.
There are rooting guides on this website and the apk also

Hi, everyone. I got my Att One X from Ebay. I am using it on Tomobile after I unlocked it. It's under the firmware 1.85. However, I had tried every procedures, no one can actually root my phone. Is it because I am using Tmobile ? Anyone here know how to root a phone under tmobile?
Carrier has nothing to do with root. What version of firmware is your phone on? Different root methods apply to different firmware versions. And version 2.20 is not rootable at all, at this time.

AT&T is not allowing the bootloader to be unlocked. Only way to unlock the BL is to spoof the CID, which requires root. So if the OP's phone is on the newest firmware 2.20, they are stuck until a root method is found for 2.20, or AT&T allows the BL to be unlocked.

If your not on at&t and on another network like mine (H2O) I can just unlock bootloader and install a Rom???

Not if the phone is branded AT&T. The HTCDev.com unlock method checks carrier ID (CID) of the phone, not what service is being used. Any other carrier branded version is unlockable that way. AT&T versions have to change the CID (which requires root).

I purchased recently a Galaxy S7 from Ebay, but have seen after the purchase, that it is sim locked from EE. I never before had a sim locked device. So my question now: Is it possible to flash over the sim locked rom a international rom with odin or is it necessary to unlock it with a code?

To unlock any network locked phone you have to buy a code for it or you give it to software/repair center to unlock it with a gsm box
Network locked is a lock which is stored in efs partition not in firmware or ROM so flashing or changing rom doesn't unlock it

No once its unlocked it will not locked without doing certain operations in efs partition to lock it again
Do anything safe with your phone without touching efs it will not be locked again

The lowest cost to unlock samsung uk variant phones by code is 14 to 16 usd but I recommend you to give it to any software service centre to unlock it by cable and if you afraid for knox trip so don't be afraid there is a way to unlock S7 and S7 edge without tripping knox and much reliable

because even though i changed and i read that changing to a global version was not going to unlock the sim.
in the same way now my oneplus 9 tmobile. It is in global version but with the network locked problem.

Once you pay off the phone. It can then be sim unlocked. The other way is to pay someone to sim unlock the phone.

You can't root without unlocked bootloader. And you can't unlock bootloader so no root.
