Also miui 10 contains lot's of AI features ...it would be nice if we have it in oneplus 6.
Really? Buy a Mi Mix 2s if u want Miui 10. Im glad to be back to almost stock after 1 year with my mi mix 2
We hope to see one developer is taking care about the required.

Oh man that is just rude.
This is how "development" works.
And yes i get your point you can't force someone to make rom because you want it. But you know..
Guys .. One day will see a working MIUI 10 on OP6.
Thanks.
Guys .. the development will start from now!
Dear Devs .. can you start from MIUI 10?!
Thanks.
What development? Just because CAF-sources are out? That just means, AOSP will get a push into the right direction. But development is far from beginning. It already started for Treble-projects. But MIUI? Nope. Not even at oneplusbbs.com are signs from a MIUI-port for the OP6. I'm just asking: Why do you want to have MIUI on an OnePlus phone? OxygenOS is near vanilla Android.

Dude .. I know that it will take a time for MIUI 10. However, why I want MIUI simply because it has some more features which are not available on OxygenOS.
Thanks.
wow.. what an embarrassing request ?!
Ok. So you want MIIUI 10. I understand that. What I don't get into my mind: Why OnePlus and not Xiaomi then? The Mi 8 is that similar to the OnePlus 6, even reviews are fighting who is better. I'd sign your petition for official LineageOS, Omni, Resurrection Remix, Carbon, etc. Count me in - where do I sign? Just kidding. I'd never request something like that. If it comes: Good. If it won't: Yeah, sh!t happens.
Nothing against your request - you maybe have your reasons I just can't understand. But spoken for myself: If I want a specific OS from a different brand, then I'd go for the different brand, if devices are that similar. Just saying.

It's just a simple request, no need to jump down his throat. People probably want an OLED screen and a headphone jack. Guess you didn't think of that, huh?

I very much agree to this statement, if you really want to use the MIUI, why don't you get a Xiomi flagship with the same soc. It's just same as the Oneplus but with miui..

A Mi8 doesn't have a headphone jack, no Dash Charging and is readily available from Xiaomi like the OP6 is from OP. Plus, in the US, the OP6 has better LTE support than the Mi8 does. Every site I've looked at to get a Mi8 has a long waiting list, or is shipping from China and will take 45 days to arrive. MIUI is really slick and it'd be really nice to have that choice on the OP6.
You're best bet is to keep an eye here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...ent/requesting-miui-10-treble-t3799025/page12
• A Mi8 doesn't have a headphone jack: True.
• No Dash Charging: True. But wireless charging and QuickCharge 4.0. QC4.0 chargers are available from many companies. Dash not. Sadly not.
• Is readily available from Xiaomi like the OP6 is from OP: Well... yeah. Ok.
• Plus, in the US, the OP6 has better LTE support than the Mi8 does: True for Sprint and T-Mobile.
• Every site I've looked at to get a Mi8 has a long waiting list, or is shipping from China and will take 45 days to arrive: Gearbest and Tradingshenzhen are taking that long to ship? Ok, didn't know.
• MIUI is really slick and it'd be really nice to have that choice on the OP6: Well... Slick... Depends. But your opinion and not mine.
At least: Those are reasons I can live with. Thanks for sharing them .

There are lots of interesting alt roms for the Mate 9. Has anyone developed (or be willing to develop) a custom rom for thr Pro? Pretty please!
The poor pro is being left behind... I realise this is largely because of limited geographic release but it's a great phone which deserves some attention. I'm not sure how ewsy/difficult it is to adapt the mate 9 custom roms for the Mate 9 pro... Or perhaps there are some Pro owner developers out there.
FYI I'm currently running LON-L29C636B225. Latest version appears to be B229.
Thanks in advance, and apologies if I missed something on this that has been posted already.

No. I have asked on threads if a mate 9 rom would work on mate 9 pro and generally got a response of no or 'not sure'. Given that the correct region also seems to be important to make these roms work, I really didn't want to risk flashing a mate 9 image on my mate 9 pro in case of bricking. The twrp I flashed is also different from the standard mate 9 version.
I saw that KangVip build a rom for Mate9/pro...

Isn't it just a different screen size/resolution? That shouldn't be a problem software size. I would imagine.

you should know that huawei phones will never have many if any custom roms. the few that have custom roms like the honor 8/P9 are loosing interest from the few devs that are trying to build roms. oreo might fix that but like i said, devs are loosing interest fast.
im waiting to see the pixel 2 and the LG v30. those will have great hardware and will have a huge custom rom support. never again huawei!

Based on your response, why did YOU yourself even bother purchasing a Huawei device when you knew that rom development was going to lack?
I already knew for months before purchasing mine that ROM development was going to be small or basically non existent and I've been a ROM flasher for many many years, this is the first device I've ever own that I didn't have to root or even flash a ROM, seems you're pretty much unsatisfied because you can't flash any custom ROMs compared to other devices

my only huawei devices have been the mate 7 which i bought brand new and a gifted bartered honor 5x and honor 8. i got rid 2 of them as soon as i could. the honor 5x is the only one i still have due to it having a snapdragon soc and a big custom rom selection.
had someone warned me about the mate 7 i would have not bought it but lesson learned. as i have stated many times, huawei hardware is great but their software is complete ****! thankfully huawei is becoming less popular on xda due to them going back on their word about providing major updates for 2 years.
to each their own i guess. you can stick with your huawei devices but most will never take hauwei serious for good reasons. LG v30 FTW!!!

Little bit of V30 fanboyism there?
EMUI 5.0 has never been a hiccup for me it's infact the best UI I have experienced so far alot better than 4.0.
Sucks to be you, should've done the research if you knew what you were getting yourself into but you learned it the hard way, but each to their own.
I rather have a device that rarely anyone knows about VS a phone or a brand that everyone knows, have fun with your V30, cuz I'm pretty content where I'm at, no need to go batsh** over what ROM has marginally better battery life or what kernel provided better performance or signal strength with modem files. TBH at least some credibility is due for them for actually polishing up EMUI, if they didn't care this brand wouldn't get far ?

Great - I didn't know about this one! The only challenge for me is the Chinese forum. I know I can google transalte but it is still a bit of a struggle - especiall;y to post questions etc.
I was hoping that some of the custom versions for the Mate 9 could easily be adapted for the Pro. I guess the Pro is a mainly Chinese audience. Depsite these ROMs being based on EMUI, I was pleased of late to see that more of them are coming out. Just not for the pro!
I also notice that the kernel source has been released. Although those experimenting are still experiencing some issues with it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/kernel-source-t3639912
But hopefully this means renewed iinterest from developes for an ASOP ROM for both mate 9 and the Pro!
So I was thinking about buying this phone but since dev support isn't that high I was wondering how long does xiaomi support their phones and how often, in case no custom roms are being made?
I have heard mixed statements.
Thx in advance.

they usually support their phones for many years, so we should be fine, and Oreo will be out this week
also Open Source support should be good also
Check the age of these suspended devices to get an idea.
Mi 2 was released in August 2012.
It was over 5 years old when suspended last fall, I believe the oldest.
Update Schedule Adjustment of MIUI 9 China Developer ROM
Nov-10-2017
http://en.miui.com/thread-1056304-1-1.html
. . . to ensure the best performance of MIUI, we have to make a tough decision of suspending the update of 10 devices after a long-time discussion and evaluation about the release time of devices, active users, hardware performance, etc.
MIUI 9 China Developer ROM (closed beta and public beta)
Starting from November 16th, 2017, update for MIUI 9 China Developer ROM of the following ten devices, namely Mi 2, Mi 3, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Mi Pad, Redmi 1, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi Note 1, will be suspended, both closed beta and public beta.
MIUI 9 China Stable ROM
We will provide MIUI 9 China Stable ROM for users of above devices (Redmi 1 excluded) . MIUI Stable ROM 9.1 and MIUI Stable ROM 9.2 will be released in the future to help users enjoy the lightning last MIUI 9. The flashing method will be provided later. Please stay tuned to the forum. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

and as for Miui, they keep updating their Ui for older devices, but they dont update the base tho, so our phone might only get O, then future updates will be newer Miui's only, that what i got from following Miui devs around

Right, releasing a global ROM before the device is officially sold globally is indeed a mistake. Now they can only be silent on those crying global ROM update requests in the forum to keep the engineers healthy mentally.

This. I'm kinda upset to see those crying for Oreo, while in devices who already got it, there are those crying because it's so buggy. They want the most impossible combination that money can't buy no matter how much: fast and stable release.
yep.
Just want ringtones ad notifications work, and i will stop updates, unless a nice AOSP rom appears with google camera and MIU to jump....
I am running xiaomi.eu 9.5 and i am very happy!
I need a new phone and was looking at the mi a1 and the Mi note 3. I Decided that the mi note 3 is the best option for me. iThe ONLY problem is the lack of Global support. Do you think this is a big enough reason to not buy the mi note 3? Is v9.1.4.0 bad, or do you just want an update? What is the biggest problem with no update? is it just because its been so long, or are there actually problems with the Global Rom that was released?
any help would be great, and any suggestions for another Xiaomi device are welcome. Id love the Mi 6 but i think it is just a bit too expensive.
Thanks!
So far the most problematic issues is the lack of Band20, for LTE or 4G, some problems with notifications and ringtones...
Yes the suport is not big as A1 or a One Plus....
Apart that, is a great phone with lot of potential.

Hmmm... i actually live in Australia and dont need B20. The only band its missing for Australia is B28 but some service providers dont even use B28, so i think its not a big problem here. Do you think its a good phone to buy if i just stay on the Miui Global Rom?

Yes we are waiting and hoping for official global room update, China room is getting updates and we have global developer leaked rom. Over all I think it is worth buying. Support is better on A1 but I think MN3 is better device. I have no regrets buying MN3 so far and I have it since December.

In my short experience there is about one eu weekly per month that is good, and better than the stables.
I am currently running the eu weekly 8.2.1 on Mi Mix, Mi Max Prime, and Mi Note 3.
Just look at the % approved for each weekly after 3 - 4 days, and don't install any with approval < 90%.
Then of course if you are looking for particular things to be implemented, or bugs to be fixed, you have to dig more.
The eu ROMs are well debloated, which is very nice.
They are really just debloated versions of the official China developer ROMs, with tweaks that suit Europe / "Western" countries.
There is a list at the beginning of the thread for each weekly.
The main discussion/controversy has been on the difference in the notation systems between Xiaiomis official China and Global.

Your welcome.
Some think Xiaomi.eu should start using the official Global ROMs as raw material instead of the official China roms because of the better notifications.
The notifications were not working correctly for some time apparently.
I have not paid much attention to that, as the notifications aren't so important for me.
It isnt about stable build or not it is about cooked google support or not since in china google apps are banned so they dont include them in roms and when you install them manually there might be some bugs like notification delay. Also you can turn off MIUI optimization and problem solved.

My bad, corrected "stable" to "Global" in my post.
There are apparently different systems for notifications in official Global and official China.
I haven't bothered to dig into that.
I bought this device but both the lack of global support and the screen to body ratio was unfortunate for me.
Of course I was aware of that this phone wasn't bezel-less but still..
The bad thing about this phone is the small community, I can't even install a google camera or twrp completely bug free.
Otherwise is a great phone, the bezels sure could be smaller, but the phone (blue) is gorgeous, has a nice camera, awesome performance, good screen, battery...

This solves the issues with notification delay?
as the title says i wonder why there is so "little" development for the i9lite going on
i thought a device with this great specs for such a little price would be very interesting, but when you look at similar devices as the 9t or 9t pro there is a lot more of development
don't get me wrong i really thank all the devs that work on the i9lite right now, but i am a little bit worried as the a2 lite i have right now is also a great device but without much development there are only a few custom roms and and a hardly working twrp for it
my i 9lite is actually on the way to me, but right now i am really afraid that i will get in the same problem as with the a2 lite that there is absolutely no interest for the devs to work for this device.
Maybe the 9t(pro) would have been the better decision regarding this, but i really do not like the front cam of the T devices
I wish i could do a little developing for custom roms myself but i do not have the skills :crying: -
what do you guys think about it or you you have no concerns in this direction and you are really happy with the i9lite an how things are at the moment ?
I'm the same as you, waiting for mine to arrive.
Moving from Moto g5 plus it looks pretty quiet here.
I hope we can get a decent gcam at least
I don't know about other countries but in France the Mi 9 Lite just started becoming available through carriers. It might be that there are just less people equipped with that phone for now. I will also get a Mi 9 lite, there is already Lineage and GSI, so the roms I'm most interested in are there already.
Just reading from telegram group. One developer (coderzs)is ready to make base tree(I'm not sure of the term),also a recognized developer of mia2 lineage and other custom rom fo a2. But they trying to raise fund to get the device. I think it's just a matter of time and we can see a lot custom here in xda. Just follow the telegram group, search for mi9t lite/Cc9 global.
For there to be active development and/or many developers, the device must be widely available and relatively popular. You can't expect all those things to be a fact barely few months after device release. Seeing as it has great specs and is reasonably priced, it's just a matter of time until the device becomes interesting to developers.
Also, a word of advice - nobody likes doing stuff for free for a pushy user base.

that is absolutly clear, also i really apriciate all the work that the devs do in their freetime and for free, my opening post is absolutly not meant in this direction.
i am grateful that there is this great modding community that gives us a lot of opportunities that the manufacturers themselves do not even they get paid for it.
i am only worried as custom roms is the only way to have a long life for the smartphone as you still get new android versions when the manufacturer is only releasing security updates or nothing at all at a certain point.
so i hope you are right and that its only a matter of time
@Kadyo
a that sounds interesting i hope i can find this group as i am not so familiar with this telegram, i would also like to spend a certain amount to get the i9lite for the dev (maybe you can pm me the group if its not against xda's rules)

MOD EDIT: Telegram link removed, read the STICKY!
A huge factor in ROM development is the geographic area in which the device is popular. Most developers for Xiaomi phones are from India which is an incredibly competitive market where, frankly, this phone makes little sense: the Mi 9T with basically the same specs is only marginally more expensive, and the latest Redmi is waaaaaaay cheaper. Now, in Europe the Mi 9 Lite makes more sense for the price bracket it's in, but for some reason the developer scene in European countries is lackluster at best. Fortunately, Russia is another country famously active for Android developing and, apparently, this phone is doing fairly well there.
As someone mentioned early, we're currently trying to buy and send a Mi 9 Lite to a ROM developer, so depending on how this ends we may be able to get this forum moving a bit
In the meantime, my standard response is the usual: if you really can't stand MIUI, give GSIs a shot! They're far better than I thought!

It's not yet released in India, is it? That might also be a reason for why there's not a lot going on yet. I do think it is weirdly priced in Europe as well. It's a bit disheartening to see there's not a lot going on (yet, hopefully!) in terms of custom ROMs, but I've never used a custom ROM before on either of my phone and I don't intend to play around with ROMs anyway.
But nice to hear you guys try to get a phone to a ROM developer!
thanks for all your suggestions and opinions so far, will try to get onto telegram this weekend and see how this works.
I've Purchased Mi9Lite About 2 Month Ago(Iran- From Abu Dubai) , Device is Great For Price (350-400$ In My Country! ) in Compare to other devices like RN8P
But development???
There's Even No Ported Gcam For Mi9Lite and Stock Camera Quality is awful
Custom Roms? Hmmn I'd rather to use more stable versions
But there's still a hope, In Russian Forums (4pda) some devs r developing kangaroo kernel for this device
MIUI Rom Are So Smooth but have little bugs and they're annoying like app freezing while using VPN!

we have the basics, which is TWRP and a way to flash GSIs, there's not really any need for anything else tbh, the days of specific devices development are behind
I bought mi 9 lite for 217$ month ago. This is the best choice of Mi9/Mi9T because of its price and card slot.
This smartfon had working LOS 2 months after world release! Now LOS is ebought mature for use it as daily driver. With ported gcam is absolutely amasing. My old xperia z3c waited years for first LOS, and up to 5 years for OFFICIAL version of LOS.
If Mi9 will sell itself very good, we will see many other custom roms.
I will stay with LOS, because is the best for me.

Even with GSI, I could not make the camera work satisfactorily and rom to pass the safetynet, and the statusbar does not display the icons properly ...
I have the mi a3 and I'm looking at the 9 lite for the bigger and more high res screen. But yeah there's definitely more development for the a3 though it was officially launched in September vs July (according to gsmarena). I do hope we get more devs for this phone, because it seems like a good one. I'm already stretching my budget with the 9 lite. I don't want to stretch more with the 9t
It's just not that popular as other devices are right now..
I just purchased it though, looking nice, when I get it first thing I'll do will be unlocking BL.
I think this phone has not released yet (or released very recently) in India, this will boost activity a lot.
Just kinda surprised custom recovery is not at the official twrp site yet.

Mi Cc9 was released in India 9 months ago or so. The Mi9 Lite is a rebranded CC9. The specs are all the same afaik.
I made a mistake. See the next reply.
Is there any chance for Redmi Note 9 Pro Global to get Miui 12 soon ?
I know many people are sick and tired of questions like this but we users are also sick and tired of waiting.
Nobody's giving any date and we must assume that Redmi (Xiaomi) really doesn't know either.
This may very well effect my decision to buy or not to buy a Xiaomi phone next time.
And they shouldn't trust the numbers now telling that Xiaomi is the #3 phone manufacturer... That will change if they do this kind of sloppy things to users who trusted their seamless upgrade policy !
Period.
Why do you want Miui12? Miui11 works perfect.

Really?
But why was 12 invented then?
Why do we get (or don't) a new version every year?
Why is there a new Android every year?
Why are there new phone models every year?
Perfect?

miui 12 will arrive, you just have to be patient. Xiaomi makes so many phones and it is difficult to have an optimized operating system for all devices

It arrived. But with gaps in the system. Some previous functionality doesn't work, it's only a stabile beta, incremental 683 MB.
To whom it may concern;
Regarding to the "so many phones..." argument I would like to to say :
1. Obviously not my fault. Wasn't my decision to create a new model every week and flood the market.
2. Nobody told me that I had to stay in a line to get updates in the ads before I bought my device. Is it even my device? Do I own it? I'm not sure. Because I have to beg and stay (again) in line for hundreds of hours just to bypass the bootloader lock. So, did I buy it or did Xiaomi lend me the device so that I can use it under the conditions Xiaomi imposes on me?
3. If you earn money from stuff you gotta invest in product support too. Not only making easy money and run.
4. If you combine socialism and capitalism, the only ones being hurt are the people. And that's even worse than pure capitalism itself if you care about socialism.
5. Getting #3 globally isn't something to be proud of. That can change any moment if you hurt the PEOPLE, no matter which nationality... Beware.
6. Treat people like USERS and not as a bunch of naive, stupid FANS or CONSUMERS.
Regards.
