Difference between Chinese/Indian OP6 and European? - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I've found a good price for a OP6, but my inclination is that it's a Chinese/Indian version - is there any difference between that and the European one? I know it probably ships with Hydrogen OS, but on previous models I'm sure there were some missing bands in 3G or 4G.
Anyone know?

The answer is: almost no one in EU
I'm using A6000 chinese version in Poland and LTE works great (even in smallest cities).
Interestingly, I had Oxygen with gapps already on the board, no HydrogenOS

Just use msm download tool and change from hydrogen os to oxygen os if you need google play

You need to check the LTE bands.
For example i need for 4g to work, bands 38(2600) and 41(2500)

In the end - I went for a European one from OP.
The cheaper one was from CooliCool and there's enough bad press about them. With £20 difference in a Euro model and a Chinese model off Ebay, I just went with the Euro model.

i am not quite understanding the regional distinction.
found some online shops (spain) that sell the A6003 and one can choose between International and West European version???
Being in Croatia, EU - west european sounds fine but i never heard of this variant before.
Can some one please enlighten me? Many thanks in advance.

[Q] China/US Compatibility and Usage for Galaxy S6

I'm looking to purchase a Galaxy S6 but I need it to have international compatibility. I will be in China for much of the next two years (Shenzhen and Hong Kong area to be specific) and have done some research into model compatibility. I have found a few models that I like. Here are the models I have found (all the normal S6, not the edge if it matters):
SM-G9200 (Dual Sim, I believe this is the Hong Kong model, but on Amazon it is labeled as International)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
2G CDMA
CDMA 800
3G UMTS
B1 (2100), B2 (1900), B5 (850), B8 (900)
3G CDMA
BC0 (800)
3G TD-SCDMA
B34 (2010), B39 (1880)
4G FDD LTE
B1 (2100), B3 (1800), B4 (AWS), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B28 (700)
4G TDD LTE
B38 (2600), B39 (1900), B40 (2300), B41 (2500)
in which B39 is only in domestic support
SM-G920I (Australian and/or Singapore model (not quite sure), lacks all TD-LTE bands except band 40, but much cheaper than the SM-G9200, similar compatibility otherwise)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
3G UMTS
B1(2100), B2(1900), B4(AWS), B5(850), B8(900)
4G FDD LTE
B1 (2100MHz), B2 (1900MHz), B3 (1800MHz), B4 (AWS), B5 (850MHz), B7 (2600MHz), B8 (900MHz), B12 (700MHz), B17 (700MHz), B18 (800MHz), B19 (800MHz), B26 (800MHz), B28 (700MHz)
4G TDD LTE
B40 (2300MHz)
SM-G920F (US International model, lacks all TD-LTE bands, but also much cheaper than the SM-G9200, the reason I mention this one is because I've heard LTE isn't that good in China, but I'm not sure, more on that below)
Bands:
2G GSM
GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900
3G UMTS
B1(2100), B2(1900), B5(850), B8(900)
4G FDD LTE
B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B4(AWS), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B12(700), B17(700), B18(800), B19(800), B20(800), B26(800)
Which phone will work well in China? I know that the SM-G9200 will work great (from what I understand), but will the SM-G920I work well there too? DO I need band 38, 39, and 41? How does the TD-LTE stuff work with China and which bands are used by who? If anyone could provide some clarity on how it works and which providers over in China use what that would be great. Also if I can get some clarity on the 3G and 2G networks that would also be nice.
Overall, I just want the phone to work as it would in America when I get there. If anyone has any experience with the cell tech in China (specifically Hong Kong/ Shenzhen area), please let me know how it works. I have heard it is not that great in some places and good in others but that LTE is expensive. If anyone uses or has used the service over there I would love some help. What carrier do you go to? How is the coverage and what is the best provider? Thanks in advance!

[Question] Moto G 3rd Gen International Network Compatability

Hi all, I'm considering buying an unlocked GSM Moto G 3rd Gen, and I am trying to figure out how it will work outside the US with other network operators. The 2 areas I am interested in are Hong Kong and Ecuador.
The network specs for the Moto G 3rd Gen are:
Code:
Technology GSM / CDMA / HSPA / LTE
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900 - XT1548
3G bands HSDPA 900 / 2100 - XT1541
HSDPA 850 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 - XT1540
HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 - XT1548
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800) - XT1541
LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 17(700) - XT1540
LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 12(700), 17(700), 25(1900), 26(850), 41(2500) - XT1548
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps
GPRS Yes
EDGE Yes
GSM information from: http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
China, Hong Kong (SAR):
Code:
900 1800
3G 2100 CSL Ltd; 3G 2100 HKT; 3G 900/2100 Hutchison; 3G 2100 SmarTone;
4G LTE HKT 1800/2600Mhz; 4G LTE Hutchison 1800/2600Mhz; 4G LTE SmarTone 1800Mhz;
Ecuador:
Code:
1900 850
3G 850 Claro; 3G 2100 MOVISTAR;
4G LTE CNT Mobile 1700Mhz;
My conclusion from the data above is:
Voice/SMS/2G Data - Supported in both HK and Ecuador because the Moto G supports all 850, 900, 1800, and 1900
3G Data - Supported in both HK and Ecuador on all carriers since all frequencies for the carriers are present in the phone specs for 3G
4G LTE - Supported in both HK and Ecuador on all carriers because all frequencies listed by the carriers are present in the 4G LTE list
Could someone eyeball these specs and let me know if I'm drawing the correct conclusions or if I'm actually misunderstanding how the bands work?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
Edit: I was double checking the bands listed on gsmarena, which claims both Hong Kong and Ecuador have UMTS 3G bands. The Moto G specs say HSDPA for all the 3G bands. Does the phone need to have UMTS listed for it to work or are they compatible for 3G?

EU model pre-order on Amazon.fr/de

I saw that you can pre-order the Ultra 3 on Amazon.fr and Amazon.de. This must be the EU model. Releasedate on Amazon.de is 28 december.

yes, this might be great news, or a great disappointment. let's hope for good news!
GSMArena doesn't seem to list the bands: http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_3_ultra_zu680kl-8130.php
An online shop (which I don't fully trust, so I won't give a link to eglobal) suggests 4G on
700MHZ 700MHZ
(B20) 800MHZ (B20) 800MHZ
850MHZ 850MHZ
900MHZ 900MHZ
1800MHZ 1800MHZ
2100MHZ 2100MHZ
2300MHZ 2300MHZ
2600MHZ 2600MHZ
which in theory covers some UK carriers (officially 800 and 2600, but some are using 1800)... but as I say, I don't trust them.
the 3G bands listed are these
800MHZ 800MHZ
850MHZ 850MHZ
900MHZ 900MHZ
1900MHZ 1900MHZ
2100MHZ 2100MHZ
which omits 1800, which is odd. I'd have thought that these phones would be multimode and be able to run 4g or 3g on a common set of bands.

I can't find the phone on amazon.de any more. I wonder if they pulled the listing after mistakenly posting it? It's still on .fr, is eur650, which US$680 or GB£555.
That makes it quite a premium. I've seen it as little as £410 elsewhere, but that would be an import.
doesn't appear to be on amazon.es either.
I just noticed that WondaMobile now list this phone, and I trust them a little more to get the tech specs right
2G BANDS GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2

if only it was possible to get permanent root, and as a bonus an unlockable bootloader, I'd have bought one!

Flash new RUU

Hi,
I want to flash a new RUU to change frequency bands. I have Taiwanese model A9 and I want 4G LTE works worldwide.
2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 - Americas
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - EMEA/Asia
4G LTE : band 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 29(700) - Americas
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 28(700), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500) - EMEA/Asia
Living in Canada, I need AWS 1700/2100 on band 4, but I still want my phone to be compatible with European/Asian countries frequency bands - especially Taiwan. So how can I make my phone international version?

Samsung Galaxy S8 Compare Network Frequencies and Data Type

I’ve been looking into buying an S8 and the fact that each carrier has its own Galaxy S8 variant made me do some research to make sure I pick the correct phone variant.
I wanted to share this with you guys to hopefully have an aggregated listed to help make someone’s life easier when it comes to deciding: is this frequency supported by this model of S8 or will I purchase the phone and end up on certain bands or frequencies only!
Note: The source of this information is Samsung corporate websites only. No third party website was used. And all credits go to Samsung for properly listing their specs. I just aggregated them in one place to be able to compare them.
Please note the US/North American carrier unlocked model will be released later in May.

Thanks for sharing... and it's neat to compared..
i was looking to buy a International version for tmobile, and most of the comments across multiple forums are B12 support is not there for Tmobile..
but the specs says it supported all of Tmobile bands, should anyone has good experience on this..
the specs mentioned is almost matched with most of the sites i referred, hopefully exynos version support tmobile bands..
Commodore Thanks for the info especially the important reference I've been scouring the internet trying to find the one that fits my needs. Any way is there any frequencies for the US unlocked version? Thanks

US unlocked or carrier free version has model number SM-G950UZKAXAA.
It's listed on bestbuy's site but the network specs don't look reliable, for example the lte bands and the lte frequencies don't match up. I will wait until this phone model gets listed on Samsung's support website and go with those specs. They might drag it out until the end of the month to sell as many carrier S8's as possible. Carrier free is probably not on top of their priority list. But since it's on top of my list, I will wait until the end of May and not limit myself to one carrier specially since this phone is so expensive. (And so cute too ...)

Can you look up SM-G955UZKAC? Thanks

I can't find that model. It seems to be missing a letter or two, and in that case the closest match found is a C Spire S8+
SM-G955UZKAACG
Galaxy S8+ 64GB (C Spire)

It's from a new MVNO using Verizon's network, hasn't launched to subscribers. Probably why you can't find it and why I am having problems getting premium care from samsung too. Lol

Ok thanks for the update . So the new mvno probably hasn't even started listing the phone on their site. Something like Credo Mobile perhaps.

Samsung's website for the SM-G950U: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/phones/galaxy-s/galaxy-s8-64gb--unlocked--sm-g950uzkaxaa
The webpage lists the FDD LTE bands in the specs, but it does not list any TDD LTE band at all!
I bought an SM-G950U from best buy a few days ago, but given the issue of reliability of specs that you mention, I want to find out (before the return deadline) if the TDD LTE bands listed in the first post are really supported on the SM-G950U.
So, how can I reliably confirm that the SM-G950U supports the TDD LTE bands B38(2600), B39(1900), B40(2300), and B41(2500)?
Solved, using dial code *#2263#
Danny Noman found the solution: Dial code *#2263# lists all active LTE bands on the phone, and on my SM-G950U1 galaxy S8, it shows TDD LTE bands 38, 39, 40, and 41.
