I did unlocked bootloader for my xzs by offical way. First time it failed but successful on second time.
My device now can do anything same a device Unlock already, flash anything bla bla.
But i really confuse when i'm check on Service Menu. My device still show on Rooting status: Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes (i read from some forum this mean Bootloader still LOCK)
And on Service test: FIDO_KEYS: provision failed (i known drm keys already gone)
Anyone can tell me actually my device completely unlock or not? Because i want to relock before sale it for someone else but don't wanna loses the camera anymore after relock.
Thank you so much

Hello guys,
I have read thru somethreads outside of our phone's forum, and found some people restoring TA's from phones that allow bootloader unlocking, and was thinking if it's safe to do the same with our XL.
I understand there are certain modifications that have to be done.
Thanks in Advanced!
P.S. Searched the forums of the XL, but I didn't find anything with this matter, sorry if it has bean brought up.
If you forgot to backup your TA like me see this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2604484&goto=newpost
As stated above, yes it's possible.
But you don't get your DRM keys back, thus your warranty is still voided.
Re-expressing my question

I must have expressed myself wrong.
I have my TA backup, but i have not unlocked my bootloader, because my unlocking status is NOT ALLOWED, yet my question is, if I can use a TA backup from another phone that has a bootloader unlock allowed: YES, so I can transfer this status to my device, therefor allowing me to unlock my bootloader.
Regards.

As far as I know its not possible to unlock your bootloader if unlocking is not allowed.
But you might want to take a look here. It's CWM for locked bootloaders.
If you really want to unlock you should consider selling your phone and buying a Xperia L where's unlocking allowed (mostly sim lock free phones)
There might be a risk of hard bricking of your phone if you restore someone else's TA backup

did u attempt? what was the result?
pls kindly let us know. if u conform....imtoo thinking for it.
Don't try messing with TA backup or you will end up bricking the device and i am talking about hardbrick. If you restore someone else TA backup your mobile won't boot up and you won't be able to flash FTF again.
Hi,
I recently got a Sony xperia Ion from a friend (her contract with it on At&t expired and she has a new phone now) so I wanted to activate it on a different Carrier. I think I got that figured out, since I went through att and they gave me an unlock code so when my new SIM comes in, I should be able to unlock the phone. However, I want to unlock the bootloader, root, and install custom ROMs such as Cyanogenmod 11. (Heard there was an unofficial release for this phone). I went through Sony's website for unlocking the bootloader and it had me check to see if unlocking it was allowed (Through the service Menu > Service Info > Configuration > Rooting Status) and it was not. :crying: It says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
Now I heard somewhere that if you are able to unlock the SIM, then that "No" would change to a "Yes" and you could then go through Sony's official process of unlocking the bootloader. Can anyone attest to this? It sounds kind of strange, so I wasn't sure. Does anyone know if there is any way at all that I can Root and Unlock the Bootloader of this phone?
Thanks a bunch.
Here's some info:
Model number: LT28at
Build Number: 6.1.C.1.105
P.S. It says there is a system update available to .111, but It says it requires a PC companion and It doesn't really say how to proceed with the update and I'm not sure if it would mess anything up as far as rooting and unlocking goes.
Well, hello to everyone. I bought Sony Xperia Z3 and bought code to unlock it for all sim cards and it works. When i visited Sony's site for unlocking bootloader i came across this post:
In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
Well, my device cannot be unlocked because it says No..
so what can i do to unlock it?

What? Do you know what you are taking about..
Anyway, if the service menu says you cannot do it then it is impossible to unlock it.

For your device it is not allowed, so you can't unlock the bootloader.
/I've read some threads about trying to unlock the bl although service says "no" on other Devices like z Ultra:
It's not impossible to unlock the bl with official method if you know your device earlier had status allowed "yes".

its necessity if you want an aosp rom .....
Stock basted Roms on most Sony devices are pretty fast and solid in my opinion no need to really unlock unless your desperate for cm
So that's it? If the bootloader can't be unlocked officially, I'm stuck on Sony roms forever?
Wouldn't bother me so much but my Z3 has a horrible bug where it doesn't work with the bluetooth in my car without rebooting first every time. Was hoping to install CM12.
Could be a hardware fault the Bluetooth

It's not that I have any major issues with Sony roms, I'd just like to be able to flash other stuff in the future, should I want to.
I'm still going to keep the Z3, such a nice phone, nothing else really comes close to it for me yet. Maybe the M9, but I just got the Z3 for £260 from o2 and had it network unlocked, probably have been looking at least double that for the HTC.
You can still root the device and customize it. Tools like the XPosed framework are great at modifying specific parts of the ROM.
But to confirm: you're stuck. You can't unlock Sony's unlockable bootloader. I've heard of people trying to unlock it, I've never heard of a successful case.
Enjoy the phone, it's among the best available right now (imho).
So, i thought my xperia z3 has a locked bootloader, since it was locked in OrangeRO. I upgraded my firmware through flashtool to get rid of Orange's bloatware. A couple of days after, i entered in configuration and saw that the bootloader was unlocked. I was surprised, then i wanted to root it and flash CM eventually. But I hard reseted the phone accidentally.
Now I can't unlock the bootloader anymore.
-not with sony's official way
-not with flashtool
What happened, and how can I unlock the BL again?
You mean at the begining it was saying: Bootloader unlocked: Yes
And after the reset now it is saying; Bootloader unlock allowed: No
?
At least this I unrstand from what you've wrote.
Hi guys I own a Motorola G4 Play 2016 (Harphia). I am having a hard time unlocking the bootloader for my device. I went on Motorlas bootloader unlock page. Then I followed all the steps to get the string of numbers and letters from my bootloader. Then I enter them in the verify box and it says my device is not qualified for bootloader unlocking. I don't know what to do I really want to root my device. The reason is to install Lineage Os and TWRP. I've tried rooting apps but they fail is that because of my bootloader. Also a side not it says my device is locked status 0. Any help would be great or other wise I will have someone from a root online based company root and unlock my phone. Thanks for the help
