How to change mailto: links default app? - Huawei MediaPad M5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi everyone, when I click a mailto: link in a webpage i been - strangely- asked to configure huawei email app which I dont, as I already have stock Gmail selected as default email app, so got surprised why this happening?
Any suggestion or workaround would be appreciated ed and let me know if you need more information, details etc.

I simply uninstalled huawei email. If I press a mail to link I can now choose between Gmail and my banking app (and decide whether I want one as default)

Go to Menu/Apps/default-apps and check, what email-client is activ and change to your preferred

I Think you haven't updated your e-mail app yet. Go to playstore -> My apps -> All -> E-mail & update.

Hi Rajneesh,
Tried to update email from Google Play, but could not find the stock corporate email update option. It has so many other email clients, which i did not find easy to use.
Any way, thanks for your help. I will try again.

contacts sync

Hi guys, just received my mate 7 32Gbps from.China with gmail and play store installed but it seems they forgot to add the contact sync option and it doesn't appear in the Google account option (I have only app, people contacts and email sync options).
Does anyone know how to retrieve my contacts and add this option on a chinese import mate 7 ???
Thanks for help
Im in the same space as you are maly348. Usually for Huawei i root the phone and rename that XML file in the china directory and that takes care of the contacts sync issue but none of my one click root programs work with the mate 7 yet.
I am willing to paypal $50 to anyone that can help me get this done!

You just need to install GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.APK, that will enable you to sync your google contact. it is available in XDA forum please search for it. No need to root the phone for this function. It works on my Huawei P7 and Mate 7.

I have downloaded the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk from cyanogenmod.org, they have a section for Google Apps. I have installed it using the built-in File Manager as a non-market app, no need to root device, which is great. However I have two google accounts that I am using for sync (one for private and one for business) and I can only enable sync for one of them. The other one, when I enable auto sync, it appears as if it is enabled but then the auto sync is switched off. Any ideas of what may be wrong? I installed the latest google apps package GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk from the cyanogenmod website, it is version 20140606 CM11.

Yes they are. I managed to now get both accounts to sync. After several attempts, the syncing switch finally stayed "on" for both.

Stock email app issue

So I use the stock email app. But for some reason it loses authentication of all my accounts constantly. When it does it asks me to retype in the password. But it won't actually let me do it. When I click in the text box it just disappears. The only thing i have been able to do is delete the accounts and re add them. Anyone have a fix?
delete app data and retry email setting
Sent from my SM-G955N using XDA-Developers Legacy app
K9, works on every device I've ever used. Never an issue, always worth downloading.
After the update that came in yesterday it works normal, had the same problem

use outlook for android, its a fantastic email program. i also like nine email
I think the stock email is the best email out there (except apples mail app on iOS). So I don't want to is another. But I have this problem too, or something similar. It's just stops syncing and the only way to get it to restart is to reboot or go to account settings and force a resync by going past 'enter password'.

I find it smoother and faster to work with than any of the third party packages. Just my opinion.

Actually I had the same problem with Outlook, which uses OSS authentication, what I did, it was to revoke all permission on my accounts, then clean the cache on the app.
Another way it's to use IMAP settings.

You came home them because they aren't there. That was something that Gmail used to do by default since Gingerbread, I believe, and HTC adopted that behavior into their mail app, but never removed it.

Could you suggest me a good alternative?
I have office 365 and Hotmail accounts.
Would be nice also to have signature formatting capabilities.

Microsoft Outlook has a email client, or the regular Gmail app. As far as a formatted signature...not sure.
