I ordered this off of Amazon from an ad for an add-on item through the add on program. For only $4 I thought why not give it a chance and I am glad that I did.
After trying 2 other off brands and Orzly, I can finally say that (for now) this is the best TGSP on the market for the OP6.
I have a few cases and they all fit with the TGSP on.
Installation was very simple with the included sticker guide. It does sound weird reading the instructions but it actually worked out pretty well.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.

thanks, did u notice if it was a full screen adhesive?
I honestly dont know the difference. I would say it is, but that is just my opinion and not fact, sorry.
It's not full adhesive. It has a dot matrix.
No full screen adhesive, avoid this.

Because it's not full adhesive. That means it will have a dot matrix and potentially an oil slick look. Plus non full adhesive means it's for scratches only. It will not protect against a drop and keep the screen from cracking like a full adhesive will do... This means a no go for a lot of people. Most will find a full adhesive and then look for a case to work with it. Me personally, I'd go for a good full adhesive and just dbrand skin the back.
Absolutely no dot matrix effects like yester years protectors. I can't even tell where is the dot matrix pattern when screen is on. Easiest install as compare to many other tgsp that I had tried before. No bubbles, no edge lifting issues, no oil needed to revise the edges. I had very low expectations because of the unknown brand and lower-price point. I am pleasantly surprised with this product.
Cons:it slightly impacts the symmetry of the notch. Not recommend for the ocd's but fine for the general public.

Yep, I bought the official one but waiting to install it once the preinstalled one looks like crap or the edges peel up some. I've never dropped a phone so I am just concerned about scratches.
So the only ones I know of at this point is the official and Orzly from what I've heard. Though it's odd as the Orzly for the OP5 was not a full adhesive tgsp

I think the poetic one based on the review is mentioned to be full adhesive.

Right now all the screen protectors are bad.
Until they come up with a new and improved version, assume all are bad.
I've tried two on Amazon and got the exact same results.
I asked for and received a refund both times.

That's the only decent screen protector that fits right now. There's also a matte finish one. It's not tempered glass, but you get 8. The fit is much better than all of the tempered glass ones on Amazon. It's not 100% perfect as tiny bit of the edge don't stick but you won't notice from the distance unlike the current tempered glass.

If any part of a screen protector doesn't stick then all manner of stuff will get stuck in between. For those w/ colored borders, that's not much of an issue but completely clear ones will eventually show all the dust and stuff on it.

I don't like the feel of this stuff on the screen. It doesn't feel smooth.

The essential screen isn't flat. I don't see a viable glass protector coming. It'd have to be super thin with a really strong adhesive to make it stick to the sides.

Actually much like the iPhone, it's flat until you get to the edge.
If the current round of protectors was 2mm smaller they would fit.
But for me, it doesn't matter.
I'm returning the phone.
There's still a thin bezel on the side that can handle adhesive on it so if they release one with black borders, I'd get it as the black borders won't show the halo effect even if it's not completely stuck on the outer edges. That's what I have on my iPhones. The display area is glass while the borders are plastic so they flex more.

Jus wait for the accessories to start coming out. Sounds like essential is open to 3rd parties making cases and screen protectors... So just got to hold on...this is what it sounded like from the reddit AMA
I have a Sopi 3M matte skin on the back and it helps with the grip a little but not by much... definitely helps w/ the fingerprints though... lol since it's matte, there can be visible smudges from time to time depending on how dirty/sweaty your paws are... I did read the AMA and they should've worked w/ case manufacturers long before release. I understand they want to keep it close to their vest until release (as to not tip off the competition) but they didn't ship the phone until much later than they said they would so in that time they could've sent out the outside schematics/dimensions to case manufacturers. No excuse!
The situation is the same for any devices that have curved edges. I'm not sure why companies just don't apply adhesive to the whole screen protector. A solution is using UV glue on a glass screen protector that isn't fully covered with adhesive. I've used the Whitedome on my Galaxy S8+ and it works really well. You should be able to buy the UV glue and UV lamp from Amazon and apply it to any glass screen protector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KZmF8uQESI
I just got my essential phone and I'm really honestly digging it. I think that it's a very nice phone that fits my needs well.
However, within a day and a half I have already scratched my screen. Its dead center on the screen and like an inch long Literally got the phone on Saturday and scratched it by Monday early AM. I didn't do anything with the phone besides take it in and out of my pocket. Didn't even make it to work with the phone yet. So I'm pretty upset about that.
I know it's gorilla glass 5, but I have never scratched a phone so quick before. Hell my old phone (Moto X pure) Only had one small scratch after running it for 2.5 years without any screen protection at all, including numerous drops and rough handling.
So I guess a screen protector is a must. I ordered a tudia case and a tempered glass screen protector off Amazon. The screen protector is garbage. I hate it. The edges of the screen protector do NOT stick down, even without the case. The edge all the way around the screen is lifted. It looks terrible.
Are there any screen protectors for this phone that are actually decent? I would rather deal with the chance of more scratches than stare at this awful screen protector with unstuck edges.
Photo of the terrible edges.
I'm curious to know too
I haven't found a good tempered glass for this phone. They all seem to have issues. I've been using the IQ Shield wet install screen protector. Not tempered glass but looks and feels great (almost as smooth as glass), self healing and works with cases if you get the case friendly version.
Sent from my Essential PH-1 using Tapatalk
glass screen protectors are nicer, but they suck on this phone.
I went with wet install plastic in the end because it does the main reason for one, protect from scratches, I'm confident it will.
I just hate the wet install process.
but my experience with glass is it doesn't protect from breaking anyway. any significant hit that would break the screen will break the screen no matter what. I think a bumper case is most effective.
I'm using the this one.

You need to clean your screen really, really, really good before you apply it.
Any oils will show up as a rainbow effect or something close.
I've been using it for weeks now with no lifting with a Tudia case.
Some people say they pop off. That has not been my experience. YMMV

I also use this one. I have actually already gone through 5 of them... It seems like some of them are more sticky than others maybe. Initially I used them without out a case and they would come off all the time, but since I've had the Tudia case 1 fell off and the new one has been on there 3 weeks.
My opinion is they are hit or miss... just hope 1 of 3 is good.

I use incipio, be careful, the installation instructions are very tricky, I messed up mine while installing, lost 40$
I'm waiting to see if they will send me a new one
So is the Incipio screen protector any good? I don't even care that it's $40, if it sticks down properly without the bubble around the edges I'll buy it.
I am also interested in finding a better screen protector. I have been using the IQ Shield LiQuidSkin, which worked great for a few weeks, but now a corner is peeling up, I assume from pulling it in and out of my pocket. I might go ahead and get another one if I can't find anything better. Would love a tempered glass protector if someone actually makes a decent one!

Where did you purchase? I'm not even seeing it for the Essential PH-1 on the official website....Nevermind, had to do a manual search for our model.
I've watched at least 5 unboxing videos now and while every video seems to show a pre-applied screen protector on the phone, not a single person in the videos have commented on it or blatantly showed them removing it.
The initial unboxing/review videos seem to all agree that the OnePlus 6 comes with a smoke clear TPU case in the box. So if it does have a pre-applied screen protector, that means you'd essentially have full protection right out of the box, which is pretty awesome!
Just curious to hear from those who may have unboxed one or someone from OnePlus to hear whether or not a screen protector is already applied or not. I know it won't be tempered glass but it's better than nothing. hing.
Yes, it comes with a pre-applied screen protector

1x Screen Protector (pre-applied)
1x Translucent Case (we recommend assembling the protective case from the bottom)
1x OnePlus Fast Charge Type-C Cable

Awesome!
I also just confirmed the same in this video @ 9:30
https://youtu.be/ES-s9KQrUTY?t=574
^ It's actually really cool to see the entire process.
To add, I'm still using the 5T preinstalled protector. It's already scratched up for me but it's applied so well and pretty decent quality, unsure why everyone doesn't pre-apply it.
The pre-applied screen protector and included case is probably one of the nicest things a manufacturer can do for its customers, especially when its service network is not very developed. Not to mention that the included case looks pretty good from what I have seen, plus the screen protector looks to be very well applied.
I got the standard flexible you case and the screen protector applied. It's done as part of the manufacturing process. Video by Linus tech tips gives really good insight at their factory
So you don't need to buy the 40$ protection bundle since it already comes with case and screen protector ?

Most probably not, but again the screen protector and case can scratch more easily than the premium stuff. My case is already scratched up at the back, so I ordered another one from Amazon.
The cheap case is very thin and might protect your phone from say a 4 foot drop where it might only survive 3 feet 6 inches without it. For me, it's just a bridge until I can get a proper rugged case, probably in a month or two minimum.
My phone arrived this morning with the Nylon Bumper Case. I must say that I'm absolutely loving the Nylon case. And the pre-applied protector is pretty darn good. Nice and smooth, like glass. Overall it is installed very well. The pre-applied protector isn't sticking around the very tips of each corner, but it will do the job until I decide which direction to go with a tempered glass protector in the next couple of weeks.
I'm still considering ordering the OnePlus tempered glass protector but a few people have reported that it is extremely difficult to apply properly and a couple people have mentioned that the oleophobic coating on it is practically nonexistent.
Regardless, it's really nice to see a phone manufacturer providing a pre-installed screen protector out of the box. Saves us from wasting money on poor quality glass screen protectors that just happen to have made it to market before the good stuff. Kudos to OnePlus for that!

Yep. got my OP6 yesterday and it has the pre-applied protector. It will definitely do the job until I figure out which tempered glass protector is best, over the coming weeks. Very pleased to have full protection right out of the box. Especially since I'm leaving for a 9 day vacation tomorrow and didn't want to rush into buying some lower quality protection, simply because it came to market before the good stuff.
Yes, the OnePlus comes with a pre-applied screen protector! The quality is good, but dust fill the edges of this protector so I have removed it...
The OnePlus 6 comes also with a TPU case

I second that. Even after a VERY difficult installing, there is definitely a halo effect d/t black borders.
I had a great experience with Tech Matte screen protector for my Samsung Galaxy S8+ which has curved sides making it very difficult to install any tempered glass protector. But this hybrid protector was a breeze to install. They have not start marketing the same product for OP6 yet but you can check out the one I am talking about at :

Did you follow the instructions? Because if you did, I find it very hard to believe it would be a very difficult installation. Remove the pre-applied screen protector, put the phone in the included case, wipe the screen free of dust and just fit the tempered glass within the frame of the case. It's probably the easiest tempered glass installation I've ever conducted, and the result is one hundred percent bubble and halo free. Sorry to hear it didn't end up as good for you.

Well, I used the case but the protector is just a bit too small, so at my first try the protector was just a bit to the right and then the sides don't stick well and then you get bubbles
The glass that comes already applied on screen is a fingerprint magnet as well as it does not reach the edges of the screen.
Better buy another one with oleophobic coat in my opinion

I am sorry too. Trust me, if I am able to install tempered glass protector on my S9+ with curved sides, I should be able to handle OP6. It was just one corner that kept on popping up causing the bubbles. I simply could not stand the halo effect because of the black border. Right now, I have a decent case and am not worried about screen protector

Not true from my research. Usually more complaints about a product than praise. I've seen enough people install it with no issues (maybe more time consuming to get perfect) that I'm optimistic I won't have an issue.

What device did you use it with?
I don't think Orzly is fully adhesive, so you will have dot matrix and halo effect - doesn't make sense for me.
Better apply OP tempered glass - it is really easy to do

I tried the official glass protector and just gave up in the end as I couldn't remove all of the air bubbles. I've just applied this for £3.99 from Amazon and it went on first time without bubbles

i had used on my mate 10 & mate 10 pro as well as the p20 pro i had, my U11+ too.
I've been thinking ahead to when I'll get my Nex (hopefully soon) and I'm remembering all the problems I had with my Mi Mix trying to get a decent screen protector.
The glass ones never covered the full screen and the film ones always peeled off because of the bezelless nature of the design.
In the end, after many false starts, I tried a liquid screen protector and it's been brilliant.
After a number of months there are no signs of scratches on the screen, even though the ceramic back (which is supposed to be more scratch resistant) has noticeable marks.
This is the particular brand I used but I'm sure there are other similar quality options out there.
Just figured you'd all want to know this is an option and a good one at that.

I'm a fan of the liquid screen protectors as well.
I think I take better care of my phones than the average person, based on casual observations,& don't feel the need for a film or TGSP.
Regardless, it's difficult to prove a negative, but, in my usage, I've never had a scratch after applying one of the coatings. No, they don't last forever, as neither do screen protectors made of film or glass.
One advantage of the liquid sealers is you don't have to deal with dirt/grit collecting along the edges of a typical protector.
This phone, the NEX, ships with a pre-installed screen protector (& a clear skin on the back, a very nice touch). As soon as the film on the display side begins to show signs of peeling/collecting dirt on the edges, it's coming right off & I'll be applying one of the many sealers available, this time being the brand Liquid Nano 9H.
Sent from my vivo NEX S using XDA Labs
Save your money. This stuff is nearly worthless. (Read the 1star reviews...). It does nothing to protect against serious scratches or cracked screens. Get a decent screen protector and a case if you care about your phone.

To each their own, I can only offer up an opinion based on my personal experience.
And saying 'Get a decent screen protector', whilst a valid sentiment, isn't always possible.
As I mentioned, there's a total lack of quality accessories for the original Mi Mix and Xiaomi are definitely a more established brand than Vivo, so it could easily prove to be more of a challenge for the Nex.
FYI, it comes with a tempered glass protector.

No, it doesn't. It's a crappy plastic one as a matter of fact

If it is for Wet Protectors, I will definitely go for GadgetShieldz. Having tried many screen protectors, my top pick now would be of Gadgetshieldz. It covers almost the whole body, back and sides as well. Just received the full body protectors a couple of days back and seem to be perfect. The self-healing technology of the films, as claimed, will take even the harshest scratches, though I haven't tested yet. The thin film is virtually invisible when applied on my new device.

I haven't received it yet. And it's not a tempered glass. It's a flexible plastic one.
I received it. Firstly, the disappointing part was, there was no solution. But I've had a spare one from other protector. I used it. The sad part is, the back protector doesn't stick well throughout. There are some small bubbles that I am hoping will disappear after 24 hours. The touch is nice, but it's a film, not a tempered glass.
