[Q] unlock, relock. What it means?

HI. I tried to unlock my bootloader and i did and it goes from lock to unlock. And then i did smth that it goes from unlock to ''relock security warning''. What it means? what is the difference between unlock and relock? sry, i'm noob and i'm just trying to root my HTC evo 3d.
Apologies for my english and noobnes.
rooting htc phones needed to unlock the bootloader you juust relocked your bootloader. until bootloader is locked nothing can be written in /system partition and without write access no root access so again try to unlock the bootloader

[Q] how to tell if bootloader has been relocked

I bought a used Z3. I want to make sure that the bootloader has not been relocked. I have gone into the service menu and it does not say that it is unlocked. If it had been relocked, would it say it there? Is there a way I can check that it hasn't been unlocked and then relocked?
*#*#7378423#*#*
Service info/configuration
Bootloader unlock allowed:No (Boot is locked and cannot be unlocked)
Bootloader unlock allowed:yes (Boot is loacked but can be unlocked)
Bootloader unlocked:yes (Boot is unlocked)
Greg
I don't think you can tell if it has been locked and relocked

Afaik
It won't
yeah I've got Bootloader unlock allowed:yes but that doesn't say whether it's been relocked.
on some HTC devices it would say "relocked" in the bootloader, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for.
and unfortunately I don't have anything to miracast with anyway.

It all depends on you. However just keep it unlocked. There is no need to lock it unless you're selling your device or sending your device for repairs. Relocking it then again unlocking it would be a pain in the *** as your data will be wiped frequently and will just create more headaches for you.
Thanks

Bootloader relock without TA partition

As title says, is it possible?
I tried to unlock bootloader even with message saying "Bootloader unlock: No" and it worked. I didnt expect this to happend and I've lost TA partition. Most stupid move I've ever made.
Now I'm wondering about possibility of relocking without TA. I dont really care about X-Reality, low light camera issues etc.
Just want to know will it work? I really would like to avoid hard bricking.
Any information?
Without a TA partition backup, you can't relock.
Are you sure the bootloader was unlocked? Does the phone display the warning screen when phone boots?

This is impossible. If it said it was not allowed then you cannot unlock the bootloader. I imagine that your bootloader is still locked or that it was allowed in the first place.
You will not be able to restore your TA, but i believe you may be able to relock the bootloader using flashtool without it. However, you will not get back the lost functions so you will be better off keeping it unlocked (If you really are unlocked) and using a custom ROM/kernel with the DRM restore functions.
Yes I do have a warning message at boot stage. I'm currently using Existenz ROM, have root etc. So it is unlocked. I've seen a post on this forum with information that some phones display fake message about unlocking bootloader. Thats why I have tried unlocking my phone and it worked. Before bootloader unlock: no, now it says Yes. All I had to do was open dev options, check oem unlock and debug. I'm not lying to you guys.

bootloader unlocked :no it means that state of your bootloader is locked but you can unlocked.
bootloader unlocked allowed :no means you cant unlocked your bootloader because some restriccions on your phone. Only sony can change this state.
So sorry you cant relocked your bootloader if you lost your ta you only can fix it but flashing a custom kernel with drmfix. cheers
Have you relock your bootloader. I meet same sittuation with you. I unlocked bootloader for my xz1, now i want to relock it, but it cant be done. It has bootloader unlocked allowed :no

Few questions about relocking bootloader

I am considering relocking the bootloader for my HTC U12+. I unlocked it a long time ago (out of habit I guess). So my phone is completely running stock without any modifications. I want to relock the phone to get widewine back to L1, so I'll get Netflix updates and such.
A few questions about relocking that I couldn't find an answer to.
1. When I relock the bootloader will it do a factory reset to the phone? I'm asking because unlocking did.
2. If later on I decide to unlock the relocked bootloader again, do I have to get another unlock-code from HTC? Or is unlocking a relocked bootloader a simpler procedure?
So I decided to do the relocking. During the relocking procedure I was being told on the screen that the phone will be wiped if I continue. It remains to be seen how I'll unlock it later on if I want to.

2. You have to to go through the HTCDev website procedure (not sure if you can reuse the previous Unlock_code.bin file).
is it possible to get "locked bootloader" instead of "relocked bootloader" and get rid of system status modified?
