Do Not Disturb bug - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I'm having in issue where do not disturb is coming on automatically even though the auto setting is off. Every night at 12 it switches on.
If you look at the screenshots attached you will see do not disturb is on but only visible in the settings main page. Quick settings toggle is not on, do not disturb settings is switched off yet it remains on.
The only reason I can think for this happening is because I had a galaxy s8 before this and I used to have a schedule DND at 12 till 8am. Maybe the settings some how got carried over when i restored apps and settings via the play store. Is there any way to fix this without doing a full wipe and setting up as a new device rather than restoring settings?

Try downloading the app Quickshortcut Maker from Play Store and search for Do Not Dis3. Click the settings and you should find the Android default settings. Check there to turn it off.
For some reason OnePlus decided to create their own version of a feature that is built in.

Only just saw this as I came back to post that I found a fix from another thread. I used Do Not Disturb - DND - ZenMode from the Play Store to achieve the same thing. Thanks

My Data Manager
Can anyone tell me if we can change the top icons: Wifi, bluetooth, GPS, Silent mode, auto rotation.
The aTT model has Airplane mode up there and I want that instead of Silent mode.
Thanks
thanks, great app !
I'm using Onavo which is also excellent for data monitoring...

I think one needs root for the above add-on, correct?
Yep. Widgetsoid can also be used, doesn't require Root (although it'll add a second row to do it, which may or may not be welcome news).

Gear S2 Persistent Notifications

I've created an android app which will forward persistent notifications to the Gear S2. I's a work in progress but I believe I have it stable enough to use. I mostly created this originally to get google maps turn by turn on my watch and haven't tested much past that. If you feel up to it please download the development build and let me know what you think. After installing the app make sure you launch it, tap the three bard in the top right, tap "Notification Settings" and finally set "Gear S2 Persistant Notifications" to on. Once you've done this you should start seeing them appear on your watch. If you want to hide any notifications open the app and uncheck the box, this will cause that notification to no-longer appear on your watch. Bugs will be tracked using GitHub so if you wind any issues please post them there!

Google Maps
anybody use this? i'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a gear S2 and the google maps thing would be huge for when i'm on the motorcycle.
Super useful. But it's force closing a lot on the LG v20 stock Android 7.0
An Example: Deleting a file within FX File Explorer causes your app to force close.
Been able to reproduce the issue every time.

[APP][4.0.3+] Netflix Sleep Timer

Beta on the Play Store
What does it do?
It acts as a sleep timer for the Netflix app, putting it to sleep after a set period of time.
How does it work?
It works by initially lowering the volume and brightness of your display, so you don't get awoken by the sudden silence if you're using it at night. It then closes the Netflix app, puts your display to sleep (by changing the display timeout to it's lowest setting), then puts all your settings (volume etc) back to their original values. Job done.
Why does it need permission to modify system settings?
Two reasons:
It needs this permission to be able lower the screens brightness to gently sleep the Netflix app.
To turn your device off afterwards, the technical choices were either a, set the timeout to the lowest level and let the device put itself to sleep, or b, request device admin permissions to allow the app to manually turn off your screen... I don't know about you but I'm not too keen on giving apps admin access to my device
Known issues
There is currently no way to interrupt the app, so if it triggers at the set time, you just have to wait for it to finish - This will be resolved in the next release.
Just found out the app beta didn't actually publish so no one could download it ??
My bad.. It's up now (link in OP) ?

Disable Lockscreen - Android Nougat

Hi
Anyone know of a way that I can disable the lock screen? I finally got my partner to upgrade her GS7 from MM to Nougat and it's all good except that there is no longer the option for no lockscreen
The phone isn't rooted and I have tried a few apps that disables the lockscreen but I assume the phone won't let it run in background because they only work for a short time
Is there a way to change the lockscreen type to none via ADB?
Thanks,

Strange, that screenshot of mine is running the latest version of Nougat
Do you have secure startup enabled? Maybe another security setting is preventing you from disabling lockscreen security
Nope nothing like that. Was fine before upgrade and now the option just isn't there. Oh well I'll just have to hope to find out why the apps stop working, probably to do with doze.
Thanks anyway

Have you factory reset since the update to Nougat?
Always recommended after a major upgrade as it generally leaves behind bugs, battery drain, and possibly weird things like this
I'd backup and reset the phone because that option should be there

Question BT Connection Issues after Play Services Update

Hello
From time to time I have issues connecting my GW4 Classic LTE to my Pixel 6 Pro A13.
Today I updated my Pixel's Google play Services to the latest beta. After that, I received this notification (allow notifications for GW4):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I checked the notification settings permission:
It seems that I can't activate the switch because of restricted permissions (security):
Now The Galaxy wearable app can't connect to the GW4. Also phone can't hold the Bluetooth connection alive:
I had this issue before. Only factory resetting the watch solved this problem. But I don't wanna reset my watch every few weeks. Rolling back to previous play services changed nothing. Clearing play services app data also triggers this issue.
Any ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: I allowed the restricted notification setting like the following instructions. But still no BT Connection. "No notification s possible" notification came back. GW4 only uses WiFi or LTE
Unless youre prepared to deal with the downsides of it, never update core apps like play services to a beta....
My own Watch 4 got its connection wiped just doing an update to a "stable" build from the play store overnight
There is no easy fix, i have to reset and restore from backup....
My ultimate point here is i wouldn't actively invite mayhem by using betas....
