3-band equalizer for Android

heres a simple equalizer i found has "Bass" , "Mid" , "Treble" control.
FINALLY a equalizer for android, Even though it still simple its a good start.
BETTER THAN NOTHING, one thing im not happy is that theres no good or any equalizer on the android market.
GIVE CREDIT TO THE DEVELOPER. (he searching for developers to help him out)
http://code.google.com/p/smuuz/
enjoy
any feedback on this?
Does it work in all apps, all "types" (i.e. Media volume, ring volume, etc) of sound?
its only supports "mp3" with 3 simple equalizer.
I get alot of distortion. But its a great start.
Glad to see progress with the eqs.... This is pretty buggy for me at the moment. Too bad all the devs who've broken ground on the eq are trying to build their own music apps bundled. Hopefully a standalone eq app like srswow will eventually be released.
Mixzing now has an EQ (only works when program is on the screen (no background play)..
yeah, the one on Mixzing is actually pretty cool

[Q] Any fix for audio?

Hey friends i know there was a post about audio fix in sda forum but it was incomplete. Have been googling for days to find ways on how to imrpove audio (especially mid bass frequencies) but didnt find any result. There was a thing called voodoo control but it wasnt supported on our(I9003) phobne!
I am currently on indian version of gb... using equaliser unlock and also tried poweramp but didnt get the desired reults! They either make the sound too boomy or destroy high frequencies as well! Is there any way to improve sound by any mod or anything? Previously i owned w995 and i feel this phone is a downgrade as far as audio is concerned!
Any help or tips please do share.
P.S- i have tried using sony ericsson's headphone, philips SHE6000/98, philips SHE3570BK/98, sen heisser headphone(i dun remember its model no) and default samsung headphone!!
still nothing in the "better audio" topic?
Any ideas for better sound play and especially recording? (without distortions, in video)
Try Dsp manager, its quite good, install 'Root Toolbox' from the market to get it. You need to be rooted though!
but DSP manager doesn't solve the distortions problem..
i've tried audioboost also, but it doesn't working.
Try playerpro

I was experiencing the same problem when compared with my i POD nano. I have installed TTPod and set the custom eq as per my requirements. I am able to get almost 95% of the expected audio quality.

Then it happend as a total accident as i was browsing through forums here at XDA i came to know about a player then unknown to me n7 player with custom settings [http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=1537938]
i decided to give it a try with custom Equalizer setting 12,2,4,1,4 bass boost off , srs off. for testing by played The Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow my default bass testing song and i was literally blown away. finally after quenching my bass thirst i was finally happy with my s advance.....then............

one day i decided to test newer versions of custom roms for our device and came across pure vanila V5 Build 2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182697 with Awesome Beats & Dolby Mobile..and i paired it with cocore 6.2 kernel ...With Beat's boost preset in ''Moderate'' setting and equalizer in ''Bass booster'' profile i attained ultimate bass niravana even with stock head set...
so guys i humbly suggest you to try these mods and i i guarantee you will feel the difference.. feel free to give your audio experiences and experiments...
PS:Remember to turn down the volume to 80% to avoid distortion if you are using stock or low end headsets
my sincere thanks to all original developers with out whom this experience would have been impossible and thank god for android customization capabilities[/LEFT]

Wow such a long story..nice share bro
When I bought my s advance I didn't really care about audio quality, I don't know if this handheld have own dedicated sound processor or not.
I use a song from beyonce - irresistable to benchmark all google play audio apps which I found playerpro is the best second player, the first best is neutron music player.
Try neutron, you will know.
IMO a handheld that using a software to emulate best audio quality is no match with a handheld having its own dedicated sound processor..I mean a real sound processor separated from main processor.

According to this post our device seems to have a dedicated dsp :http://www.stericsson.com/products/u8500-novathor.jsp
I'm using Playerpro with it's own equalizer, bass goes hard if you set it up right.

Sound mods: which is your favourite one / combo?

Hi guys, my name is Alessandro and I've just rooted my Z3. I've seen there are many Sound Mods out there and I'd like to know which one you'd suggest me to try with. Which one produces the best sound according to you?
I was also thinking about a small portable amp for my 16 ohm earbuds. Do you use one?
Thank you!
If I had to choose one I would go with this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...-dontbelive-marshmallow-stereomod-v1-t3366065 as it seems it's the more clean one
I don't really like sound mods because many of them look like "hey we got beats, dolby, whateveryouwanttoinserthere" and then it's like... "so many stuff, does this really even work?" I like the way the original audio config for Xperia Z3 sounds, anyways you can also try using new libraries from stock sony roms (don't remember if it was on cross device or cross themes, but it was a port from androidexpert35) in the case your rom doesn't have the libraries updated already.
Also, watch out for mods that "amplify" the audio quality of your phone, many cause a crackling noise because they add a number that comes to their head instead of following the sound chipset config (this is from personal experience as I restored the original sound quality for xperia zl and z in cyanogenmod builds (unreleased job))
P.S: Do a backup of your current rom with TWRP before flashing any "sound mod" because if you have some regrets you'll regret even more not having a backup and then having to spend hours flashing again stock rom and getting your system back to what it was before flashing anything
Oh I forgot to mention that I use a pair of Sony ZX310 headphones when listening to music with the following configuration on sound enhancement (stock rom):
DSEE HX: On
Surround Sound (VPT): Studio
Equalizer
400: 0
1k: -3
2.5k: +3
6k: +3
16kHz: 0
Clear Bass: Adjust between 4 and 8 (6 is preferable but adjust to your needs)

I agree with you. I'm looking for something which can improve the audio output quality of the Z3, not just for remarkable names.
Is it possible to couple V4A with the Sony Audio Enhancements?

try one of these, the audio quality on headphones directly depend on the quality of the headphone,
Ans the settings you set on your headphone selection on V4A, I got Sony MDR-NC33 Noise which is pretty enough for me, other V4A can be experiment and find out with respect to the headphone,
see for yourself bro, and one thing the audio mods above are far more better than Sony Audio Enhancement, I tested it and tried not to leave sony stuff coz z3 coz like 40k here but at the end of the day there are more options on V4A and you can combine it with Dolby Atmos MOD mad by bro guitardedhero, cya just sharing my opinions and experiences

Thank you so much for your opinion! Wich audio mod works good combined with V4A. I mean, how do I know if some libraries will be in conflict with V4A? Which combos have you already tested?
I think you should probably install V4A and not mix it with other stuffs...

I think ARISE WORKS BETTER,
forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
that developer guitardedhero and his team are constantly updating but the the other mod that Xtreme Music is fairly good but I think he havent updated in a while and he also get banned sometimes for ad-links by the mods, any way it upto your choice I prefer more of that guitardedhero and its more stable I think, I tried both mixed in early stages of arise and xtreme music, the the sound was awesome, I got like 3 system equalizers, one for V4A, other DolbyAtmos and Xtreme Music Equalizer working simultaneously at a time, it was great, I had to throw sony's sound enhancement (sorry sony) stuff completely since if conflicts with other V4A and DolbyAtmos,
just back up your current rom, and try things out mixing them, if they dont work just google it people always have similar problems like tweaking startup init script and other workarounds.
And one last thing use powerAMP beta 3 for audio playback throw that sony music app aka walkman, it supports FLAC and has good UI and sound engine too, works with V4A. Just my experiences bro, try and find out for yourself,
http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8810-poweramp-alpha-build-703704/
And one thing get a XDXC 64 gigs SD card, listen to flac audios only n cheap mp3 ****s, if you need any flac songs pm me, i got 300gigs of it
I'm trying some specific mods for the Z3, actually the last version of the Dontbelieve's mod. Arise will be my next step. How do I disable the original Sony sound enhancement when playing with arise?

Everything working. Guys, nothing can be compared with ARISE. Harder to configure, but way better results.

Enabling hi-res playback on nougat roms via buildprop

Not sure if this information is useful to anyone but here it is.
Basically after nougat update Poweramp music player's 24bit playback mode fails to activate (even with latest 704 alpha installed). So those audiophile among us might be super annoyed .
Solution, add this line to build.prop , this has enabled 16bit 192khz playback on aicp7.1.2
ro.lenovo.hifi_support=true
Text would be better so anyone can copy-paste the settings!
Worked for LOS14.1
Small update , it seems that someone on the Poweramp forums has managed to enable 24/192 playback by tricking the phone into thinking it has Samsung software .
Anyone have any idea what he added to the build.prop?

If you want the best audio you can get out of your phone, install viper4arise. (and use esira/eleven)
Edit: Viper does not activate 192khz playback, because its useless (for a smartphone with only 1 aux output) read why here.

Hires audio is a complicated subject. I think it works for me because of the placebo effect ? Lmao
However, I'm also just a hobbyist looking to tinker around.
If I can recall correctly , most forms of audio mods on Android increases the noise floor by a significant amount, making everything sound quite messy (but I haven't tested arise yet) .
Just looking to share info around and spread the fun of tinkering

I had this problem with arise too, but you can reduce the "output gain" to reduce the quality loss while amplifying the signal (just remember to set it back if you need a louder signal, e.g. for small speakers). Like that i was able to completely anulate the small glitches and rushing/shizzling (or at least i dont hear it anymore xD).
I've tried dozens of sound mods (even changed roms for it) and the best (and most stable) solution for me is viper.
You however have to try around and install the arise modules one-by-one and then setting everything suitable for your needs (Profiles, add-ons like atmos).
But its worth it, even my 24bit 192Khz computer sound sounds bad now! :crying:

What Earphones do you have?
For my somic/Xiaomi In-ear's it works perfectly (Arise core+atmos +Sono's headphone profile) i only use Atmos for more bass (e.g. drum n bass/goa).
But Mi4c/s is a ***** concerning audio (i think to remember flashing rom for rom to get good audio, but thats some time ago) xD

And a piston hybrid
Yeah smartphone audio might just be average unless if its a LG V series .
Either way I'm planning on saving up for a dac or perhaps DAP in the future haha.

Make sure you get a DAC thats supported by viper if you get one ;P

I bet this one will work, tested on redmi note 4 mido
Change ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
And add these lines from audio lines= persist.audio.uhqa=1
Hope it works, thanks me later

This trick just send 192khz audio PCM data to Android audio resampler, after that audio data will be resampled to 48khz/16bit for output.

For me this line is the one that works.
However, in my hi-res output option, DVC is always enabled.
As it's conflicting with Dolby, how to forcefully disable it?
