Is it chinese rom or truly global one ?
Because i've seen people claiming it's the chinese rom on miui forums

Anyone tested?
Is it Global ROM?
How is the Performance?

It is global ROM.

Unable to install, it says you are allowed to install stable ROM from MIUI Forum.
Please help.

Please someone provide a small review, is it usable or buggy...thnks

currently installing

How to install betas (is it possible) with locked BL?

just installed, it feels smooth. and what i like is that it feels like a real android oreo update with the option to delay notification like stock android. fonts are bigger, animation more refined, it feels a lot like iOS. must test it more

Unlock the bootloader, flash twrp and flash the room

Must install over existing MIUI else setup will crash.

I was hoping to avoid unlocking for the moment

I didn't wipe anything and it worked fine. Upgraded from 9.5.13. Battery seems to be worse than before.

I don't know but charging is a bit.more faster
On 9.5.13 max it was charging @2025amps for me
Global beta is getting 2290amps

I wanted to make a twrp flashable rom since I have an interest in this phone but its hard to purchase here in HK.
Enjoy.
PS DM-Verity is present in the boot.img I did not remove it cuz I am unsure if your twrp has data decryption built in or not.

Is the camera working fine after installing the Chinese variant rom?
Guys, i have successfully flashed this ROM using MiFlash Tool, but keep in mind that its a china ROM so there were no Play store, Gmail, No Photos app, and also Portrait mode on rear camera lagging a lot, so i would suggest you guys, dont waste your time to flash this rom, and wait for the OTA, there is no drastic changes in this ROM, looks same like how our device was,
its recommended do not flash this ROM, unless you are a developer, its Purely Chinese ROM, you can select language to English but also you will have to side-load all the GApps, dual 4G also not working

Android P Nightly Beta Builds for Mi Mix 2S (Chinese)

Xiaomi has begun building nightlies for Android P, so I've added them below.
https://funkyhuawei.club/mimix2builds
All builds are from Xiaomi's servers. Just providing links. I can't answer any questions about them, because I haven't been able to try them. But the below link might help people understand what they are:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://en.miui.com/thread-2439969-1-1.html
(Cached version, original seems to have been removed from Xiaomi forum)
Although we do this for free/fun, any donations provided will encourage us to keep up the Xiaomi research.

I tried Android O ; bootloops
Flash ok, first setup screen. Choose language(Turkish ok), choose region(only china), writing "just a sec" and bootloops...
8.4.17
8.4.27
Please be careful with these builds. There was some trouble with redmi note 5 pro, damaged the screen.

I saw the official global Android O on en.miui.com,
Why would you try the Android O? Wish I had a backup phone, would like to try the P
P/S: Downloading the P version 8.4.29, let give it a try.
So did anyone tried it? Do I need a unlocked bootloader to try it?

Actually, its with Redmi 5 Plue/Redmi Note 5. Regardless of any phone, it's better to be at caution with leaked early builds.

I think better to flash with fastboot than with twrp.
You'll need to use tools to get the system image from the files included to flash in fastboot. I think sdat2img should do it.

In RN5 case, its permanent screen burn-in. It's so bad that even if you used the build for less than an hour, you can say goodbye to your IPS panel. Some used warranty to replace the panel for free.

Nowipe install in miflash was fine over previous build. Can't see any serious changes (lockscreen notif's still not working) but I'm sure the changes are the same as china dev if you can be bothered digging all over miui forums for the changelogs.

FINALLY was able to unlock my bootloader today after waiting 15 days
So far so good. Everything works so far. I actually like how miui 10 looks and feels but cant stand not having a dark theme.

You need to be a APPROVED BETA MEMBER to flash with the updater inside MIUI.
Flash the .tgz in miflash which is what I did and it worked perfect.
Or if you can find a zip for 8.6.26 you can flash it in TWRP.
BOTH REQUIRE AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
As for battery, I never had any issues with it in miui 9.5.19..... But Battery seems fine on miui 10 so far. :good:

Oh, okay! Today I'll be able to unlock my bootloader after 360h...
I thought that "Developer" was the Open Beta one, like the Chinese version.
8.6.26 has been running VERY well for me.
ZERO problems besides a tiny bug that cuts off the notification text time "now" when a notification is in the dropdown.
MMS finally works too! I was not able to use this on miui 9.5.19 at all.

Hello. I have a Chinese model (xe). I flashed the global rom develop thanks to miflash. with twrp I always had a bootloop at startup. especially do not re-lock the bootloader, otherwise risk of brick. gpay works on mine, I did not have any problems.

Can i go back to Previous MIUI ?

Currently, I am in the latest version of MIUI (10.3.9.0 stable). but i feel this version of MIUI is a bit laggy and power draining. So i want to go back to the immediate previous version of MIUI (10.3.7.0). is it possible? what is the procedure?

Unfortunately, you can't.

1.Make sure your device is unlocked
2. Now using TWRP format the device and clear everything
3. Download the MIUI Fastboot ROM from the MIUI forums.
4. Now use the Mi Flash tool to flash the required ROM( clear all including internal storage option)

Don't try doing anything from the current ROM now, since Mi devices have anti rollback protection such that if you try downgrading it would brick your device, which you can't unbrick unless you use an authorised account or take it to the service centre.
