I'm looking for the script which copies the firmware modem files at bootstage similar to that one here on the one plus 2.
http://gerrit.aicp-rom.com/c/AICP/device_oneplus_oneplus2/+/48607/1/rootdir/etc/init.qcom.sh
Does anyone know where it is located?
system/etc/firmware/mbn_ota is not the right path? I will do some looking then.

I doesn't seems like.. I've deleted the mbn_ota file but, the phone still loads the default mcfg_sw.mbn file (OEM_OVERSEA), instead of the EE UK file. If I put a TMO US SIM into the phone, then it loads the TMO mcfg_sw.mbn file.

The file /data/vendor/radio/copy_complete indicates, that the files were copied from the firmware folder, it's set to 1 in my case.

Hi Guys,
Looking at the different OTA packages available, and the files provided with Odin in order to flash back to stock the Nexus S, I can see that there's a file called "dgs.img" that is never reflashed/touched using the OTA files provided by Google.
In order to reflash dgs.img you need to use Odin and select the CSC part.
Do you know what's inside that img?
Looking at the fastboot screen of 2.3.3 I can see an info called "CARRIER - ", the American T-Mobile Nexus S has "TMO" written on it, the I9023 sold in Europe by Vodafone has "Vodafone".
Reflashing the CSC with the file provided in this forum (as far as I know, given by a Service Centre in UK), the Carrier info become "EUR"
Is there a way to look inside that image and have a look at it?
thanks!
Cheers,
T.
Now I have the same question now...Since I can't unyaffs it...
OK man, I figured it out~after a showering time ^_^
Use notepad to open the dgs.img, the world is bright!~~
How I figured this out? Firstly I unyaffs-ed the img and got the note" broken img file", and I am quite puzzled with the size, 1k...seems a bit too small for a img?
after that I read something about csc changing under I9000~
And in the end, when I was showering, a thought just came to me: this is not a img file, just a text file.
I tried, and I am right!~
Cheers
OK, I successfully changed the carrier info to TMO. Open this file in Hex Workplace and change the EUR numbers to the 54 4D 4F, and everything is fine now~~
The reason why just can't edit under notepad is because it will change the 00 between two TMOs to 20, so this leads the problem.

yes... just guessing what's the difference for example between the EUR and VDF version in terms of phone behaviour... maybe OTA update availability??
I've been searching for months and I haven't found a way to debrand the Lumia 1020 from ATT.
The company locks features (like internet sharing, for example) , event if you unlock the phone...
Is it the lack of interest from hackers and developers, or is ATT really that strong at keeping us from debranding it?

See from page #54 with the assembly (DLL) modified if you are unable to flash, maybe this can help you (RM-877 > RM-877 or RM-875).

Thanks for the info Anaheim.
I downloaded your dll files, but from the edits on your post, you mention that the first modified dll (Nokia.CareSuite.PlugIns.MurzimRecovery.dll) caused problems, but did you revert back the first modified dll before replaceing the second (Nokia.Packages.VariantPackage.DataPackage20.dll) ?
also, your thread (on page 54) mentions modifying the vpl file. What is required to modify exactly?
I read around the thread and other forums as well and there are many ways poeple do it. Some even change two other files (the dcp and the bin file), while some only people change file names, and some people chage the content of the files
any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks

I tried with both DLLs at the same time, it did not work.
The flash procedure is performed from the VPL file (VPL file contains all the file names, for then flashed this files). It is a sort of "guide". VPL file is "signed by" the signature.bin file that contains his signature. It is useful to modified the VPL if you change / replace / etc some files.
I have not tried changing some file, because I have not had time.

Ok thx,
so I keep the original Nokia.CareSuite.PlugIns.MurzimRecovery.dll and only change Nokia.Packages.VariantPackage.DataPackage20.dll with the one you supplied.
I tried flashing the ROM with a country variant RM-875 from GB (with only Nokia.Packages.VariantPackage.DataPackage20.dll modified) but I still got the ffu error.
I will continue to work on it and keep you updated
thanks again

No, no news.
Hi All,
I have a SamsungAce3 with some carriers boot animation.
I would change it back to the stock one.
Can anyone share with me these files :"samsungboot.qmg" and "samsungloop.qmg"
I need the original non carrier branded version.
Thanks
Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275T generic qmg files
Attached, worked fine changing my Telstra 7275 to generic. I had to rename them to get them to upload to the forum, so just change the extension to .qmg. These came from a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275T, and I have successfully put them on my Telstra version, the GT-S7275Y. I can't guarantee that it will work for you, so no warranty, sorry.
Any problems PM me. Your phone will need to be rooted to allow you to put these in, if using ADB be sure to delete the old files, change the folder permissions, then push the new files.
And be sure to double check the files are there and valid (double check you renamed them to .qmg) before rebooting your phone. I can't help you if you brick it, sorry.

Thanks,
I will try out today ...
Everything went smoothly, "T" branding gone! So thank you!
Note to anybody else trying this the files "samsungboot.qmg", "samsungloop.qmg" and "shutdown.qmg" go in the system/media folder. A second copy of the "shutdown.qmg" file needs to go in the system/media/video/shutdown folder if it exists. This depends on the customisation by your phones provider, mine was Telstra Australia and the second copy was necessary on mine.
Any way of removing the Unlocked Bootloader Txt when the phone Boots? Currently Rooted with Magisk Pastch File and want to be able to remove the Unlocked Bootloader Txt if I can? Phone is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra SM-S908B. It is on the EUS Firmware used in the UK. Thanks. . .

Those images are packed on a TAR file named 'up_param.bin', which is part of the BL_***.tar.md5 firmware file.
Just open it with 7Zip, extract its contents, modify all the images you want (keep the size, image attributes, etc.) and repack them on a new tar file named 'up_param.bin'.
Finally pack that up_param.bin on another .TAR file (with any name), and flash that one with Odin (the slot you use is unimportant, Odin will rely on the inner filename to select the partition).
Done

Hi everyone. This is for anyone with a S908e device that lives in Canada and would like to have proper signal, 5g, rcs in Samsung messages among other things.
This should work for other regions as well such as the US. If you want to PM me your Home CSC from your regions most recent firmware, I could try and make a zip file for you as well.
This process below requires root as well as a root file manager such as Root Explorer.
1. Download the Canadian CSC files below to you phone.
2. Unzip file to your phone.
3. Go to the root folder in root explorer and backup the optics and prism folders.
4. Go into optics, configure, carriers and delete the singles folder.
5. Then go to the search location of the unzipped optics folder and copy all of the folders in carriers to the same folder on the root of the device.
6. Next do the same for all folders in the prism folder of root.
7. Once everything is copied go back to the root folder, change the permissions to exactly what the screenshot attached shows. Making sure you select the 2 check boxes on the bottom.
8. When that is done reset your phone. You should now get 5g, better signal and rcs in the Samsung messages app among other things.
This should work for other regions as well such as the US. If you want to PM me your Home CSC from your regions most recent firmware, I could try and make a zip file for you as well.
As always do this at your own risk and remember to back up your data.
Ps. If anyone might know which files in the CSC would deal with Sim Card Manager I am trying to figure out how to keep the settings in it from changing when the CSC is changed.
Hi there, would this also work for SM-S908N? Mostly for 5G access. Thanks!

I believe it should work for any S908W device. Just depends on the available bands. Try and let me know I can update to add the N.
If it does not work you have no worries, you can just reflash your Home csc from the S908N factory firmware and everything be fixed. There is no reason this will not work for your device. Should also work on a exynos device.
Hello, Can you please make a zip file for me. I have attached the Home CSC of current SM-S908W XAC Firmware. I am planning to change my CSC on my SM-S908N KOO device. Thank You.
