Overwhelmingly confused, touch input inverted, USSD codes not working, even on stock - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Soooooo..... Here I am again with a friend's s6. he wanted a custom rom, and knox was already tripped so why not.
flashed twrp in odin, flashed frankenstein rom, everything was normal, rebooted, touch inverted. I remembered I had this problem a few years back and eventually fixed it, found two of my old threads and tried some of the stuff the threads talked about, like dialing *#2663# to update the touch panel firmware.
well I tried it again and got an error, something like could not find, invalid mmi. I searched google and xda some more and found advice to go back to stock, so I dl RWC firmware (I'm pretty sure, otherwise its on XEF or XAF multi csc for some reason) from samfirm and flash with odin. I reboot to a bajillion FC, more research, factory reset, ok it works now, go to phone app, USSD code still not found :S
I am so confused by all these variants, and CSC codes, and strange behaviours, and also dl mode + odin, adb+fastboot in bootloader any day ahaha.
G920W8 rogers. Please help. I just want to help my friend and ive been on this now for too many hours, thanks
EDIT: oh, it worked on stock this time... okay nevermind, but before I apologize and shamefully ask a mod to close this thread, if I try flashing the frankenstein nougat rom again and the touch axis gets inverted, is there some other way to get the correct touch panel firmware if the USSD code doesnt work in that rom? (I tried samsung info, no go)

[Q] i9000 will not root, only stock firmware boots

Hi there. I have read quite a few tutorials on rooting my phone. I did have it rooted at one point using odin and a package for cwm. It worked great. I wanted to try out one of the 4.* ICS roms, that worked fine.. sorted that out no problem but there was no gps so I wanted to go back to my rooted 2.3.6.
Went to put it back to standard with stock firmware, that also worked fine. The problem I have now is when I attempt to root using the same files, same settings and same utilities as before, It boots up to the samsung galaxy logo, then reboots and shows the logo again and again in an infinite loop.
I have cleared the user data and cache, and the root appears to work as the recovery program installs correctly, but it will not boot the OS.
When i flashed to stock I used odin.. the 512 pit file, the stock pda, phone and csc files. and that works perfectly but not when I root it!
Any ideas??
****UPDATE
I flashed with stock 2.3.5 firmware so that I could use samsung kies to flash my phone back to 2.3.6 so that it was 100% stock and kies now says that my device does not support firmware upgrades!!!
Seems as nobody can be arsed to answer my question I have researched and answered it myself...
If anybody has the same problem of Kies saying "Your device does not support firmware upgrades" all you have to do is go into the "About phone" section of the settings.. find the baseband version of your phone.. Mine was I9000XXJVT... find the lowest version of android on samfirmwares.com , mine was 2.3.4, install it..
then kies recognizes your phone again and will upgrade it to the latest version..
Oh by the way THANKS FOR YOUR HELP lol
This particular phone for record purposes upgraded to:
PDA:JW4 / PHONE:JW4 / CSC:JW5 (CPW) which im guessing is carphone warehouse..
I tried the samfirmware.com version of the latest CPW firmware they have and kies still said it would not update the firmware
and before all you geeks get on your high horse and say why didnt u do this and why didnt you do that..
I couldn't root my firmware after installing the CPW firmware as mentioned above from samfirmwares.com.. i was in an infinite reboot loop. I could load standard firmware from samfirmwares.com and it would boot fine, but I couldn't root it from that.
My aim was to get it back to standard and go from there.
One question.. pretty obvious really... I have searched high and low and still am yet unable to find a sofrware for BACKING UP my original firmware... this would be a pretty sensible idea??? yes???

[Q] Help with ROM flashing (bootloop problem)

Hello there,
I was tired of my phone (Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-I5800) and wanted to do something with it. I found out its possible to install different systems on it, so i did. I tested CM10 with succes, but i wanted something different, i downloaded AOKP (in the meantime i flashed I5800XWJPD and I5801DXJPC ## from samfirmware, which were ****). So now i have couple bugs i can't solve:
When i boot my phone it says "GT - I5801" not "GT - I5800" as it should, i have no idea why.
AOKP bootloops (intro animation starts - ding white screen for 5 seconds or so, and loop), but eventually boots
Home button doesnt works in AOKP
AOKP doesnt reads SIM card (probably because of bootloop)
I used Odin Multi Downloader v4.252, apollo_0531.ops file, and said ROMs. Oh and i rooted it, or at least i think i did
Just flash another ROM. Your phone should work as usual.
Sent from my GT-I5800
try froyo roms m12., kisad's, purumod., or stock roms.. everything works in good shape

You are getting GT - i5801 instead of GT- i5800 because you flashed a .TAR file that had a bootloader. Never ever flash a rom that contains bootloader in it! Most of the stock rom's in samfirmware contains bootloader in them, so I highly recommend you not to flash such roms!
What you're getting is not a bootloop, but just a minor bug. You can fix that by simply downloading any custom bootanimation and then pushing it to /system/media. You can find tons of them in the "Themes and Apps" sub-forum.
No clue, maybe reflashing should solve the problem.
You probably have Pin Lock in place. Simply disable it and your SIM should be working fine after that.
I'll try different ROMs, cause i tried reflashing AOKP and it always has that white screen bug. Thanks for answers, i'll try different things, hope it'll work.
Edit: Ok i disabled boot animation in options and it works now, but still home button doesnt work and i found out that usb connection doesnt work too, i searched the forums for the solution, but i cant find that MTF option or how it was called..
EDIT2: Okay, everything's fine by now what i've done is i downloaded rom from samfirmware, double checking it has bootloader for 5800, installed it, and then did the same with M12. Thanks for help!

Something stupid

I think i did something stupid. Yesterday I decided to upgrade de modem/radio on my Note 3 running on ProBAM 1.3.3. I flashed CP-modem-NE6.tar. I was on CP_N9005XXUENC2.tar.md5 radio/modem with bootloader BL_N9005XXUEND6.tar. I was using the normal kernel which came with the rom.
After this update everything seemed to work okay. Until I decided to make a phonecall. Then my phone got hung up and I had to reboot. After the reboot the calling issue was not fixed. I tried flash back to my former radio/modem but that didn't work as well. Only mobile internet 3G/4G/HSDPA works and my phone has signal, but i cannot receive calls (i dont hear a ringtone) and make calls myself.
So I decided to make a full wipe of system, data, sdcard and start from scratch with a full Samsung Stock rom. I used this one: N9005XXUEND3_N9005PHNEND1_N9005XXUENC2_HOME.tar.md5. PHN is the CSC code for The Netherlands. The rom installs fine in Downloading Mode. After installing i went to the stock recovery and did a system reset/wipe and cleared the cache partition. Then the rom booted fine. What is strange is that i dont hear the standard bootsound during booting. For me this was a clue that something is not good. I still can't receive and make calls and my phone don't function anymore like it should. The sound buttons react very slow, camera doesn't work anymore. The samsung music app makes my phone to hang etc.
Has anyone have a clue on what can be wrong and how to correct it?

Short Story - Modem Should match the rest of the firmware. Flash the Stock NE6 Full rom which you pulled out the Modem from. Things should be back to normal. Made the Same Mistake with NE3. Dont flash and try to fix it in another way, You might lose the IMEI resulting in a visit to the Service Center.
P.S - Some "wannabe" will point out that this post needs to be in the Q&A Section soon.
Problem is that i only have that modem file CP-modem-NE6.tar and flashed that onto my existing rom. I don't even know which stock rom it was pulled from. To test I just flashed N9005DXUENE3_N9005OLCENE4_N9005DXUENE2_HOME.tar.md5 but nothing has changed about this problem. What is the next step?

Flashing NE3 wont solve your problem. Find the NE6. You might get lucky in samfirmware.com

Did you write only the modem or you also wrote NON-HLOS.bin? Also sometimes it is said that you also need to flash the corresponding RIL.
I wrote both files. First modem.bin and then took out the battery, replaced it and booted to download mode again and flashed non-hlos.bin and again pulled the battery, put it back and booted the rom.

Until you get on a NE6 firmware (Same version the Modem CP was pulled from), Nothing else will help. I went through this path. It was a headache Mate. However NE6 Firmware is not that bad. Just the uneasy feeling that It's not XX, but a DX.

Sorry Mate, Obviously didn't meant to hurt your feelings. It was a random thought which I dedicated to a few "certain users" who reply - "this should be in Q&A" without answering the poor soul's question.
Some time ago here in XDA, In a situation like this, First we see the answers, then a moderator silently moves this to Q&A and put up a warning to the bloke who made the mistake. Unfortunately nowadays, just as soon as people see the thread is in the wrong section, they just bark as if they suddenly turned blind to the problem OP is having. Mistakes are not made purposely, and obviously these are people who's new to forum.
I went through the same problem by jumping to the NE6 modem a few days ago. So I know how this agony feels.
Man kann die Natur nicht ändern.
No one can hurt my feelings in an Forum, so no prop
The point is, the Rules are sticked on top >
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46416908
So when i'm new on an Forum the first thing should be reading and respecting these.
I was Mod in an German Smartphone Forum (Handy-Faq) and i know it's an pain in the ass always remembering people to follow the rules and move unmatched stuff into the right sections. Mods usually don't get paid and doing this in her Freetime. They're trying to provide and clean Forum and this takes a lot of time, especially in such an huge Forum like XdA.
So it shouldn't be that hard to take the time and read at least the sticked Stuff, before posting...
Just think, you're coming home from work and open the Forum. The first thing you'll have to do is to go through the Threads and move this and that, simply because it's posted wrong or there's already an Thread about it. For Example there are meanwhile a couple of Threads about this Problem in Q&A. So I instead of helping people you used 30min or more to clean the Threads.

ZH Series is for Hongkong. Hong Kong N9005 is 16GB, so yeah It will not flash to the 32GB version.
Check the thread where you found the Modem from, The Link for the Rom will be there.
Stupid thing and together lucky is that i just flashed the NE4 radio and all seems to be back to normal again. Phone is again fast and everything seems to work again. Now I have to test with making calls.
Will report back later this evening.

Reverted Axis Touch screen BUG Please help

So I've been trying to install a MM rom for some time now, and 2 days ago, the screen started to not answer properly, touching left would touch right and the other way arround. I've seen a lot of thread saying to type *#2663# in the dialer to update the touch firmware but i get "connection problem or invalid MMI code". I've tried to fix that too, people we're saying to reboot, do a factory reset, check that the good network is there. No luck.. I've also tried to install stock back, but I was getting another error in Odin. I think I tried everything.. I really need your help now.. If someone can help me, please say it in the chat.
My phone is a Canadian Bell Galaxy s6: SM-G920W8
Right now the model number in the phone is SM-G925K but I'm pretty sure it was W8 variant..
thanks a lot

Samsung S8+ HK Snapdragon Radio problem

Hi guys, i have a question. Recently i got weird problem, my sim card stopped working overnight, Everything is normal, there is info about simcard, number, imei, everything, i tryed changig sim, but all sims that i tryed act the same. Things that i find that are wrong. In siminfo Radio is off, and airplane mode icon is always on, even if i turn it off in settings icon is still blue, i tryed flashing lates rom over odin, and it didnt work, i also tryed flashing custom rom (one that i found that is not on some wier chinese site that ask for my chinese number), twrp and still nothing, i lost a few days, and i need some help, i tryed everything i know. I cant go and enter *#*#4636#*#* to see siminfo and turn radio on(something that i saw on YouTube), that code dosent work on my device. I even tryed dissasembly the phone to see if everything is conected, and i dont find anything unusual, everything is in place. So please if anyone can help me that would be grat.
Im sorry im not native English speaker, and i apologize for my bad writing
Looks like a damaged efs partition
Well, it may be, but i have EFS backup when was okay(i learned thats important, hard way on s4 ), but everyting seems okay, i finally find right combination rom, and sim card seems to work fine, i cant call to conform, but its on 4g connection, and signal strenght is changigng just fine. And as soon as i flash stock rom radio goes off.
I actualy solved my problem, i flashed combination rom and tur radio on, right after that i flashed stock rom without CSC, and it worked, i got error on decryption, but i just wipe/factory restart from recovery, and it worked. So if anyone have some problem with ther S8+ g9550 PM me, ill try to help out.
