Hello P20 Users
Did anyone here has the same problem with Me??
The network connection is really unstable, reconnecting very often. When i play online game, browsing, Messenger, even when im just do a speed test.
The connection lost and then connect again, or the speed is unstable. Thats not provider fault, because i test it in my other phone there is no problem like these.
Is my hardware or just a ROM problem? Please answer rhis, it get me frustrated, the phone with the proce. Like these have a problem. Tks
You're referring to mobile data connection or Wi-Fi connection?
If mobile data, have you tried change the SIM slot for data?
If Wi-Fi, you mean you lose connection to the AP or you keep connected but with no access?

Sorry not to mention it, it is a mobile data connection that have a problem on Me. As long as i write this, i. Use data only on sim 1, but i already try change with other sim card, but i never change a sim slot. I never try it with Wifi is that have a same problem or not. I will give u update on that.
Thanks for the reply.
Try changing the SIM slot, although I'm not confident it will do the trick, but you don't lose anything trying.
If the problem persists, for now I'd recommend you to contact your service provider.

Hi,
like in subject is our N5 supporting wifi roaming/changing access point based on signal strength? I have two access points with the same SSID but on different channels. My laptop is switching between AP from upstairs and downstairs and iPhone 4S I had before N5 was switching too. Unfortunatly Nexus is not... Is it supported by our phone or not? Is it at all supported by Android OS?
BTW I wanted to ask another thing related with wifi. I changed wifi option "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to "Never" but it's not turning off when I put my phone in to sleep. How long does it take to turn of wifi after locking phone? Could you check Is this option working for you guys?
Thanks for all answers, Zibiksior
Anyone?

Yesterday frustrated by the roaming not working i tried to set wifi network frequency on n5 wifi advanced settings to 2.4ghz only and volià, wifi romaing seems to work correctly: as i change the room n5 suddenly changes ap without loosing connection.

I will check it today at the evening and report back.
EDIT. Nope its's not working for me. @Riekr what Rom are you using?
Sent from awesome Nexus 5
Stock ROM, anyway I'll check further as it seems to switch from one ap to another but not vice versa. Please also check that all parameter are the same except the channels (as per specs) and that the channels does not overlap with WiFi analyser (to improve performance)

Yes I have the same configuration. The same ssid and pass in both AP's. Only chennels are different and not overlapping also. I'm using now purity rom with Linaro kernel.
Did you manage to fix this? I'm having the same issue.

That option does work and will switch over to your data connection when the phone is asleep. There is an option in the WiFi settings called "scanning always available" which will prevent the WiFi chip from ever truly disabling itself however.
From what I can tell my Nexus 5 changes fine, however I have only tested it on the same router.
I believe "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to "Never" only turns the Wi-Fi off if there is not an active connection currently using data, otherwise things would get dropped packets, etc. Correct me if i am wrong though.
Hi,everybody!
So I just got my S7 a few weeks back. It's been working properly. But there's this one thing that's been bugging me some of the days. Every time my phone connects to the Wi-Fi and if I don't use it, the connectivity just goes away just like that. And it shows 'Internet Not Available' . Even though I disabled the Wi-Fi from going off when the phone locks, the Wi-Fi still goes of with no reason. Is there a solution to this issue? Please help.
Also I tried resetting the network certificates and stuff, still doesn't seem to help out
No issue at my end

Sometimes i have this Problem too.
But only when this Option under WiFi is activated.
Sorry for German Screenshot :silly:
Disable it and test again?
Hi guys.
Just trying to share my observation and explore if we can do anything.
I am using D6683 (I think it is support to be a HK based handset). Using Lollipop, it has been working perfectly but 16GB not enough hence MM function that allow SD card and Internal memory merge is appreciated.
Since Sony decide to ditch us using D6683, the only option is using D6633.
1. Try using MM .575, it has huge connection problem. The phone will just stay in GPRS mode even connected to a LTE network. Driving from one point to another point, will just cause it to data connection to hang. Putting it in airplane mode and anything else won't work. Only reboot works
2. Restore stock and upgrade to .291, first day testing seem to be ok. Got LTE connection. It did try to swing a bit but it has been maintaining well. This i started driving with Waze. Connection start to go haywire, but it will be still try to reconnect. Data are "maintained" to certain extend. Let the phone along for about 2 days, the next thing I realize, only GPRS left. The signal logo got no more H, H+ or LTE. Check the phone service menu and all info confirm the LTE is available. Again a reboot fix the problem.
3. Change the setting to only WCDMA + GPRS. The phone was "perfect". No data hang issue and etc
Need all the sifu help. Assuming if the phone is rooted, how is the phone determine the connection method? I presume that the phone will initialize the modem to dial the connection. Can anyone share anything that we can probably trigger a redial and probably eventually inject into the phone data connection sequence. Again using Lollipop, there is no issue.
Appreciate any comments/advice.
Regards
Dan
Hello my xioami just bought with miui 9.5.20 global stable when I turn on the wi fi or change the wi-fi connection or the internet, the phone restarts very quickly asking for the password and very often keeps open the applications I had open in previously.
it also happens by turning the data on and off and when I lose connection. Someone would know the existence of some solution?
thank you so much :crying:
My Samsung Galaxy S7 stays connected to Wi-Fi for anywhere between a couple of minutes to 30 minutes before dropping the network. I can still see a list of all of the networks, and this happens no matter what Wi-Fi I am connected to. My home network, my work Network, my friends Network. This issue began after I factory reset my phone and put a new SIM card in it.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated! I am with Cricket Wireless, have been since 2013 and I've never had network problems with them.
Bumping this thread
Does anyone have any ideas as to things i can do to help with a wifi issue? Whthere specific to Galaxy S7 or not?
I just want my phone to work normal again..
Please help.
Hi,
One thing you can do is try is;
Click on the wifi icon in the shortcut drop down menu
Long click on your network connection to bring up an additional menu
Click on 'show advanced options'
And under 'IP Settings' click 'Static' rather 'DHCP' and see what happens.
Let me know how that works out for you and we can move from there if need be.
Best,
Do you use battery saver? Also if you've unlocked the developer menu have you changed any WiFi settings in there?
I've got a similar problem. My phone stays connected but after a while it says no internet connection with ! On the wifi icon. All other devices work just fine. Ive tried disabling everything. I also set fixed ip. But no luck. Problem persists.
Does anyone have a clue?

Mine has started staying connected now after an android update i received last week. I wish i could be of more help. Maybe make sure your phone has the memory space, and then while its connected to wifi, try and look for an update. Look for the version you have and see if its up to date. If you aren't able to get it updated on your own, you may take it to your carrier and see if they can help!
