Flashing this image means it will come with Verizon bloat?
This doesn't bode well for the few of us stuck with sprints updated bootloader waiting and hoping that this update would cone with the updated bootloader so we could finally switch firmware I'm guessing

actually haven't crossed any information indicating that, although I was more wanting to get off the Sprint firmware but stuck on the bootloader 5 firmware of Sprint's been waiting months in hope the oreo update for verizon would contain the #5 bootloader version so i could finnally come off the Sprint's firmware as i am a verizon customer.

It's not a rom. It's Verizon stock firmware so Verizon bands and Verizon carrier specific things only work.
Thanks guys... One more thing, wld I lose my files if I flash the firmware through Odin?

With the latest update of PI3 on the SM-G930U the bootloader is now on version 4. Found out trying too flash a version 2 bootloader from Verizon firmware.
What this means? Users on the SM-G930T that wanted a bloat free smooth firmware can enjoy just that now by downloading and flashing the latest PI3 firmware on sammobile or samfirm tool.
Damn ! That's some good news after so long !

Just a note, you'll lose FM radio support. I was really hoping they would include it in the update, but no love sadly. I have the U and am considering flashing the T for it. Comes in handy at the gym for watching tv, but then I'll have bloat. Decisions decisions.
Can I flash the tmobile modem over this and get the 4x4 mimo support? Or does that also include some code in the firmware?

No issues on my end. I flashed T then back to U without any hassle. Probably is your odin or faulty usb cable or port.

A somewhat silly question but does flashing the U firmware automatically unlock the SIM? Or is it still SIM locked?

No, flashing the U firmware does not Sim Unlock the device. You must first unlock then flash if you want to switch carriers. Otherwise just flash and use your same provider SIM.

why don't you flash Cricket firmware on your phone from here. :

As long as att releases Oreo. If not this version can be ported to support the other variants. If a dev is up to it. Hopefully. Then the v20 can also receive lineage 15.1
Edit: sent an email to LG inquiring about a possible att oreo software update. Basically said they had no plans in the immediate future and to contact att about it instead
I will port Oreo to the H910 if AT&T doesn't release it. I can't do it for other models since I don't own them. Well, I will TRY, but it is hard if you don't have a device to test on....
I know I can *PROBABLY* do it for the H915, H910PR, the VS995, and the LS997

Sorry to say that but LG has a very lazy software development team

Maybe they accidentally leave a loop hold in the oreo version. I mean we pay for the device why lock us in. I mean if you have the warranty it's up to you to root and lose it but if you are already out of it then they should just let you do what you want but if anything happens it just on you.

No idea about that, I was only n stock long enough to get one update lol. Now I'm on a custom rom so I won't get them any more anyway
But from all I know the bootloader unlock has absolutely nothing to do with updates, only flashing a custom recovery or rom will stop them.
