gravitybox problem..help!!!! - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

after installing gravitybox there is this star icon in the statusbar..how to remove it.. couldn't find any settings..need help.. whenever i go to vibration mode it appears...

I don't think this is related to gravity box. It appears when you put your slider into silent mode.

So i don't know, maybe it's a statusbar bug related to oneplus 6... do you have some substratum theme active?

No, it doesn't

It's the do not disturb icon when you put the notification slider all the way up. Just turn it off in settings>status bar>icon manager.

It shows with vibrate and silent positions. As others have said, you can turn it off from the icon manager by ticking the "do not disturb" option

This is what I had to do, glad someone posted it

I'm impressed by how people insist that this is due to the priority mode, while OP mentioned that the problem appeared after installing GravityBox. I also own a OP6 and that star also appeared for me after installing GravityBox, no matter the position of my notification slider.
As mentioned, it can be hidden by turning it off in icon manager, but this is not a real solution, as it is now hidden and will never show again even in priority mode.

exactly... thanks at least you understood the problem... on 5t there was a option to hide in the gravitybox...but newest version doesn't have that option anymore

I was also looking for an option to hide it in GravityBox but as you said, it doesn't appear to have one... I had a OP3 before and didn't have this problem. I guess the dev will fix it in the future for the OP6 so we will have to wait for now.

Does the star still act like priority mode if you have gravitybox enabled? I have the same problem and would like to know if the star is merely just an appearance thing or if it is an actual priority mode for notifications, if it acts like priority mode then I will have to uninstall gravitybox.

[Q] App for working with notifications?

I am looking for an app that can make it possible for me to pick and choose which notifications a particular app will show, and which will not. I'm not sure if that is even possible... I have this app that I don't want to shut off notifications on entirely; there's just one that I'm tired of seeing, because it notifies me of something I'm already well aware of, and does so constantly. It's just a swipe to dismiss, but its icon is the triangle/exclamation deal, and I don't like seeing it in my status bar. Having been a PC tech for almost 30 years, seeing that icon can be anxiety inducing!
Maybe I should learn to code, lol

Some custom ROMS give you the option to hide specific reoccurring notifications by long pressing the particular notification then hitting the snooze icon that comes up.

already asked to honor support, there is no solution to disable them,
only oreo 8.1 has the option to disable them, otherwise they would have to add it...i doubt they will...
The only way is install the app: AutoNotification
->in the Notification Blocking menu,
->add a new voice with:
App: Android system
Filter Title: "displaying over other apps"
and remember to disable battery optimizations for AutoNotification

Thanks. Will try. On another note, Should i expect any future updates like security patches, or an 8.1 update for that matter, for honor 8? Just curious.

I am having issues with my alarm after Oreo. It doesn't seem to activate while the phone is in deep sleep. Any fix for this? Already tried turning on the priority display in notification.

Thank you for this hint!
I created an apk to open that hidden menu directly! :good::victory:
Anyone can now access it without installing nova launcher
OpenAppNotifications APK Download
This is the steps to disable notification "displaying over other Apps":
->Install and open: OpenAppNotifications
->Open upper options menu and select "Show system processes"
->Find and open "Android System"
->Turn OFF for each app "displaying over other Apps"
Screenshot of what it looks like when that happens? They aren't in a rush to get Oreo out in North America.
I have a problem after oreo update...while charging only 'charging' is pop up in lock screen instead of 'fast charging' & there is only one bolt symbol in battery icon instead of double bolt symbol...have u faced it?

Annoying alarm icon in top bar.

All of sudden showed up today on my op7pro. Anyone knows how to get rid of it? My alarm is off.
I know you can disable it in status bar- icon manager but this is not a case. I didn't have it before.
Settings>Display>Status Bar>Icon Manager>Toggle Alarm.
Edit: I missed that second part. Have you tried enabling and disabling an alarm? If that doesn't work, Icon Manager might be the only way.

I know I can so it but my alarm is off so it should not show up in status bar, right? Ones alarm ia on icon will appear in status bar. That's the way it should be, right?
Try clearing data for alarm app maybe.
Looks my alarm is up for monday 11pm. I wish I know how to disable it.
BTW... I tried to clear data, I even disable it and still this icon is there.
I have no clue what 3d picture means.
What program are you using to get that many notification icons in your pull down menu?
I had the same issue and figure out that Tasker was causing this issue - this device only, never had a problem on a Samsung or a Huawei.

If you're using a non OEM alarm app go into app info and select notifications and verify that it's toggled off. With a shot. Think it would work truly

brightness slider in quick settings?

Hi guys.
Is there away to have the brightness slider in the QS menu so I don't have too pull down twice to adjust my brightness?
Thanks, I am unable to find an option or mod on Google to do it
If you are rooted with xposed you can get it so you just use the status bar as the brightness slider. This is the only solution I know of.
Unfortunately I'm not rooted, although I've thought about it, I usually root every phone I have.

Probably the only way to do it would be with root. Might even just need a substratum theme. Although not sure about that. I love this phone rooted, although I didn't use it on stock at all.
This magisk rom allows the slider on top
Okay well looks like I might need to root to achieve it.

Question WTF is this little stick figure icon on the left/notification side of my status bar? UPDATE, screenshots and found out what it is

Every now and then I'll see a stick figure icon on the left side of my status bar by the clock and on the lock screen/aod in a bubble.
when I unlock the phone or pull down the notification panel any info disappears.
Anyone know what this little guy is for and how to get rid of him?
and the screenshot is.................? kinda hard to help if we don't see what it is..
The only icon I can think of that resembles a stick figure is the SMART THINGS icon.

It;s a stick figure, like the stick figure that was coming up on peoples nav bar on 8's and 9's for accessibility settings
it looks JUST LIKE THIS ONE IN THE PINK CIRCLE without the dots under it but its a icon by the clock
When you need a hug. Push this. That makes you more accessible.
here are screeenshots, I got it in action.
It has something to do with one of the apps I enabled in accessibility mode.
Anyway to stop the "check access settings" little guy notification from coming up

If you tap on the icon and bring up that app's notification settings, there may be an option to never notify for accessibility notifications.

Thanks, no clue then. It must be one of the apps, maybe the Galaxy HZ app having access to screen as it shows the stick figure in the notification as well. Check the app in Accessibility settings and try disabling it.
Also, what is the other app with moon and glowing clock? (screenshot attached)..looks cool

Weather neon, TONS of customizations for it, from dozens of widgets of all sizes down to changing colors of every piece individually.
that's just the notification one I liked but there are a ton more, and a big main one with different clocks

My stickfig has a purpose, I can dim the screen at night or brighten it up. The icon comes up when you slide out the 'stick'. You can park this feature anywhere, to enable go to 'visibility enhancements' >>'extra dim'(screenshot is from S22)
So I'm guessing you can disable your stick figure somewhere there as well.
