If you changed your network band in the hidden menu, and now cant propperly connect to towers,
This is how I fixed it:
Download from the Play Store:
Network Signal Guru
In the app's menu, hit the "Clear Forcings" option.
Worked for me. Connection should be restored.

Are you rooted?
Yes, program required root. You can live boot from rooted img if you dont want to root your phone.
Fastboot OEM unlock
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
Fastboot OEM lock
Wipes data but resets modem if you got it (like I did messing with stuff)..

Hello everyone, I think I might have bricked my Xoom and I desperately need help.
I have a non-US WIFI/3G MZ601 Xoom - locked, not rooted or modded. Never updated the original Android 3.2 either. Only installed some apps, but nothing more.
Two days ago, after transferring some mp3s trough gMTP I think I ran out of free disk space on the Xoom and I got an error. I disconnected the Xoom from the program and then exited. There was no hint of a problem. After my battery died, I tried to reboot, but I get only the M-logo and after a while the system reboots. I was thinking that maybe the system won't start because the disk is full but it might be something else.
I tried Power+Vol Up - it reboots, but still hangs. I did Power + Vol Up and then Vol Down - I have the bootloader options and I can reach the Android recovery screen.
My main problem is that I badly need to download some data from it before resetting. It's important for my work and that's why I need a way to get my data out of the Xoom before resetting. I tried mounting it with mtpfs, but obviously it doesn't work without a running Android. I called the Motorola service, but they offer only a Factor Reset. And since all my info is on my internal memory (no external sd-card), they said I'd lose everything.
So my question is is there any way to reach the data on the internal memory without a working Android. Preferably a Linux solution, but I could find a Windows if needed.
I already used the Android recovery to erase the Cache - it didn't help.
After some research I found about some tools which Motorola offers. I wondered if using
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
would delete my users data.
I know it's easiest to Factory Reset it, but I use the Xoom for work, it's important for me to find a way to get that data out. Another option is for example to use some Data recovery tool after the Factory Reset, but I'm not sure if the Factory Reset reformats all the partitions and if anything is recoverable from it afterwards.
So...if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very thankful!
Did you solve your problem?
AFAIK you can use adb to pull files off your xoom.
There is a Linux version. You have to download a lot of files plus the Motorola drivers for the Xoom.
There is a lot of info on this forum and elsewhere on using adb.
i'm not a Xoom genius and the following is only how i understand things, if i'm wrong someone please correct me
those fastboot commands only put the stock Motorola firmware on the device and will not wipe your user data. you have to format the internal sd card for that to happen which is a separate partition from the system, boot, and recovery partitions
if your tablet is still locked and Motorola can't help, then i suggest unlocking your Xoom and flashing a custom recovery and see if that lets you boot your Xoom or at least lets you get to it via adb shell. you can pull files off the tablet that way. it's command line, but it's something
Hi and thanks for the replies.
Yes, I pulled my files with adb, which was great, since I was so not ready to lose them.
Afterwards, I Factory Reseted the Android, which fixed the boot, then I updated to 4.0.4, Unlocked it and Rooted it. Now, everything works, except for the 3G which is detected, but there's no data transfer. But right now I don't need it that much, so it doesn't matter. I love having a rooted device!
No 3G could be an apn setting problem. Whenever i couldn't get 3G working (rare on a Xoom i think) it was wrong apn settings.
I think you have to have 'date enabled' in Mobile Settings as well.
Yeah, but I rooted it with the Everest Nightly edition, so I suppose it's some kind of problem of the release. Because before rooting, my 3G worked fine, now I see the icon with the signal strength but when I disable the Wifi and enable the Data transfer, there's no connection. It seems that something is Disabling the Data transfer, but all the places from where this can be done are set to Enable. It's very strange.

Hey Folks,
So I've noticed on several ROMs I've tried as of late that I seem to be randomly losing internet connection. Basically, everything will be fine, phone goes to sleep. When I turn it back on the WiFi signal is full but grey as though it has no internet. Generally, if I turn it off and back on it works, sometimes I need to reboot my phone entirely if it doesn't come back up. I've searched through all the Power Management settings, and I think I have them all set to not manage wifi, or turn it off, or use it in low power mode, etc. But there has to be either something I am missing or a real issue with WiFi drivers or something. has anyone else seen this kind of behavior?

I am having an issue with my mobile internet. Everything will be fine on wifi, but when I leave the wifi area I will have full bars and say I am connect to mobile internet, but I will get no connection error in every app. I have noticed sometimes that if I get an edge signal and try go back to H H+ it happen. It is sporadic and hard to pin point when it happens and what is causing it.
I am s off h boot 1.06 on pacman. Now this has only happened in the last few updates of pacman, and i have been talking to the developer, but it seems like i am the only one having the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Note: Doing this delete everything on your phone, So backup
oh sorry i can't help cuz i;m not on PAC MAN. Maybe try to re-flash the ROM with a full wipe in twrp-->wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe system, & wipe factory reset. Maybe do it 3x. But as u know, this will erase all ur apps. If that still not working, it's better to run US T-Mob JB RUU. This will fix all your issue. Don't worry, u will still be S-off and BL unlock.
If u plan to run RUU, this is what i do and always success:
1. Make sure phone is on USB debugging
2. On cmd, type adb reboot-bootloader
3. Run RUU
4. When finish, do your normal phone setup, then go into Setting-->restore&backup-->Reset Phone and put check mark on Erase Everything
5 when done, do your normal phone setup and turn ON USB debugging
6. On cmd, type adb reboot-bootloader
7. on cmd type: fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img I use twrp v2.3.3.0
8. on cmd tyoe fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img again
9. Your done and flash any ROM u wish and see if the issue go aways.
Hey folks,
So I've noticed this on several roms, Currently I am using LiquidSmooth 2.3.1. But I have noticed it with the last 5 or 6 roms I've tried. I also tried restoring to the latest RUU, flashing the latest TWRP and going from there. I've even gone as far as getting the latest mutli-radio installer and trying several different radios, but in the end I experience the same kind of issue.
~Rick
i though it was just me that had this problem
Im on t mobile and since the firmware update I started having this problem no matter what Rom I tried sence and cm, my signal would disappear completly at times and the settings would show service is unavailable next to the radio at times when it was bad even in good coverage areas, any way this is what worked for me
1.- I changed the svn value on the bulid prop from 19 to 1, left the other ones alone (24,6,4)
2.- I made sure the build prop had the fallowing propperty "ro.ril.disable.power.collapse" and the value set to 0
3.-when I see service unavailable I swith airplane mode on and than off
4.-don't forget to thank me if I helped u even just a bit

thanks I think i will try this, but i am noobish and never dealt with a ruu, and don't really know what it is. Is it a file I need? if so where can i dl it?thanks again.
Well its good to see that other people are having this issue ( I thought for a while it was just an issue with my phone ), I wonder if there is something wrong with the base image that people are using to create these ROMS
If the problem happens between midnight and 7 a.m., it's normal. The connection (both 3g and wifi) gets cut after 20 minutes.

I have never had this happen before on any other phone. Is this something exclusive to the One S? Is there anywhere to disable this?
Also, it happens during the day as well, just not as frequently
?
I have never had that problem either in fact its past midnite and check out the screen capture
Search for htc smartsync and you'll find what I'm tallking about. The connection (3g and wifi) gets cut with the screen off for 20 minutes during night time (midnight - 7 a.m.). This can be disabled but it needs root.
If your problem is not related to night time, forget about this.
ok ill check it out
Now check outy latest screen capture
Actually I had already checked that screenshot but I couldn't get the meaning. lol The connection gets cut only with the screen off. As soon as you turn the screen on it reengages both 3g and wifi connection. You can see this happen because as soon as you turn the screen on (after 20 minutes off) there will be no 3g and wifi icon: after 1-2 seconds they'll pop up again.
Am I missing something with your speedtest? Of course it works, you are with the screen on! lol

Damn your right I can't prove the internet stays on with this, it does stay on do I now this because I have downloaded large files recently like TD10 and some others and the progress doesn't slowdown when the screen is off, how can I prove this?

Wait for midnight, enable push mail (if not already enabled), wait 20-25 minutes (with screen off) and send an email to yourself from the pc.
If you receive a call or if the screen turns on for any other reason during the 20-25 minutes, start all over again! lol
Hi,
my few weeks old OnePlus One just turned off while playing a game.
It was connected to a charger with full battery (used performance mode and didn't want to stress the battery so much).
After turning it back on it got stuck on the bootlogo with the 2 turning circles. (they were still turning but nothing else happened).
So i pressed the powerkey for a few seconds and restarted it.
After that it was able to boot up but it didnt show a lockscreen (just directly into the main screen).
No i noticed this:
WLAN is off and grayed out (cant turn it on),
Network is not available (time totally wrong)
Storage not accessable at all (all my pictures data ... away??)
When connected to adb it says device offline, the MTP device is visible on my pc but it just shows "internal storage" -> "storage" -> "emulated" and that is empty,
Fastboot is working but it cant boot into openrecovery (worked very good before).
Its stuck after transfering the revovery.img with the fastboot logo.
Code:
PS C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702\sdk\platform-tools> .\fastboot.exe boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-bacon.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.390s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.022s]
finished. total time: 0.413s
When i go to settings and check the information from the phone it says:
Baseband version: Unknown
The official cyanogenmod rom (38R) is installed and never used another rom.
I don't know what to do now. Do you have any ideas?
Thank you very much!
Erik
Firstly, your idea that having the phone plugged in while on performance profile and playing a game is completely backwards. You're stressing the battery more by charging and vigorously discharging at the same time. Not to mention the amount of heat that would have generated. That's most likely what caused the reboot and subsequent problems. I think your best course of action is to flash the stock fastboot images.

Thank you for your help.
I'm so happy that it seam to be working again.
WLAN and Network connectivity are back and the storage is also accessable.
For everyone with similar problems here is what i did:
1. turn it off and wait approx 30min
2. start directly into fastboot and flash 30R (reset everything to factory defaults)
3. boot up with no network and additional Audio FX force close notification all time (unable to use phone)
4. Downloaded persist.img and reserve4.img from the following thread and did this:
Code:
fastboot erase persist
fastboot flash persist persist.img
fastboot erase reserve4
fastboot flash reserve4 reserve4.img
Big thanks to markbencze. Full thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-brickloop-audio-fx-fc-efs-corrupt-t2879061
5. reboot to system and make wait for the system-update notification to go back to the newest version (or check directly in the settings menu)
SYMPTOMS:
*You have WiFi and bluetooth but your OnePlus One does not recognize your SIM and no IMEI / IMEI SV in settings.
*After a Reboot you loose WiFi/BLuetooth and still no voice calls or data / no IMEI.
WHAT YOU HAVE TO TRY FIRST:
You have to try this solution FIRST. Thx to markbencze and Vonnegut.
RISKS:
I have personally tried/discovered this after i tried all the solutions here in XDA (read UP). No Persist, no CLEAN ROM FLASH, no Color OS. Nothing. Every solutions brought me nothing. No voice calls no mobile data. Only WIfi BLuetoth not working after a reboot.
I take no responsability about a damage of your phone. The only guys that tried this method, untill now, are me and Igomezu. Here his post about the resolution of this ISSUE
This what Cyanogen team answered about this method.
SO if you have lost all hopes and you OnePlus One its a large paperwheight.... then you can try this.
WHAT TO DO:
Put your phone in download mode (volume UP + Power).
send these fastboot commands:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
I tried these commands after a clean r38 flash.
After this you can boot up your phone normally.
Now you should have your mobile connection up and running, your correct IMEI in your setting, your WiFi and Bluetooth Back and stable after a reboot. A normal OnePlus One.
ENDING:
I opened this thread also to talk about possible issues using this method.
Hope this can help to comprehend why it WORKS.
Thanks!!! This save my Oneplus One.
That's a fantastic guide, guys!
Hai salvato un mio amico ahaha
YEEES - it works!!!!
Thanx a lot - support isnĀ“t responsing my rma for over 1 week
I hope I never have this problem but good to know about this Thx
part 2 help how to do it

He network code is a something i can't help with, but you have other options (working chance is less than 50%), your first option is to try to hard reset it using recovery, you boot into recovery by holding the (power+volume up+home) while your phone is off, or by holding (power+volume up) in case you don't have home button.
Your second option is to reflash the stock firmware, which was recommended by the network unlock re seller.
