Everyone head to beta.swype.com to register, and they email it to you! it's amazing.
For real. Got mine just an hour or so ago. It is so much better then the hacked version. Auto caps ftw.

Could not have said that better myself, it looks better to and the long press on the smilies is nice too
It doesn't have a voice-input button on it, does it? If not, that's a deal breaker for me.

I am the Senior QA Engineer at Swype. A voice-input button is a sorely missing feature for us too. We are looking at what it would take for us to integrate a feature like that, but we don't have any time frame for when that might happen yet. If you would like to see that feature developed more quickly, please give us feedback on the Swype Forums.

We get it, it is a feature you want... but please vote anyway so that we really know how important this is to you guys.
Thanks apparently i searched for the wrong thing haha.

i received the email and clicked the link from my phone but it doesn't recognize my device as an Android device. is this because i'm not using the Stock Nexus One ROM (e.g., i'm using a custom ROM)? thanks in advance for your answer.
Oh they made typing in landscape easier... Or more so better. I like it, and I never exactly hated it either.
Oh it seems they made typing without swyping easier altogether, I typed this entire post with swype. Good job! Loveee it..

So typing normally is better on Swype than on the original Android keyboard?

Hmmmm, send me a PM. I may not be able to get to it this weekend, but I'll see what we can figure out. I know why that might happen, but I'm a little surprised that you are experiencing that with a custom ROM.

We're working to improve that experience as well, but for obvious reasons, we tend to focus most of our efforts on Swypeability.

I dont know if my opinion will matter, but im typing in landscape with very minimal mistakes, without even having to Swype! Im gonna go off a limb here and say this is definetly better the stock keyboard.
The bad thing is though, it doesn't have auto correction with just normally typing.. (big downer) but the accuracy is so good it can kinda be rarely needed. I believe that still should have been an inclusion.. Though.
Edit: yes it does looked in settings.. Lol

Oh this is so awesome! Downloaded and installed without a glitch. Will start to try out typing on this.
i'm on CM latest stable, had 0 problems getting email, downloading, installing
Hmmm...
Have registered, got the email, got to the link...tried downloading but it's stuck with no data being transferred.
Anyone else experiencing this?
edit:
it downloads now...no idea why it didn't earlier...this version is much better than the ones released in the forum earlier... my default keyboard now
Perhaps a noob question but I figured I might as well ask before trying it and messing something up.
Is there a Google Now Launcher APK that's been confirmed to work on the G3? all the APKs I find are in articles and links from months ago and I just want to have the most recent information and APK(s) available.
Loving the G3 just would like Google Now Launcher and preferably the n5 dialer/camera apps. If all this is located somewhere and I'm just being an idiot, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
andrej
Google camera is in the play store, the others should be findable, I'll check when I get home for you

I assume it is working ok? Love the device, and I'm going to try to time with the stock launcher for at least a couple of days, but probably going to this launcher soon.
Thanks.

Am I the only one that is experiencing very noticeable lag while typing on the keyboard? Tried even with Swiftkey and google keyboard, the lag persist.
The phone is brand new and I have an empty sd card inside, but even without it lag.. Even the vibration feedback lag.
UP
Mine has been fine and I haven't heard of anyone else having this issue.
Maybe a faulty unit?
I read an article that it's because the phones nowdays have cpu scaling so they aren't eating up all the battery. When you're not using your phone, the cpu kinda hibernates, but if you start typing, it speeds up, then slows down when you pause, then speeds up again. And it takes a tiny bit for it to fully speed up, so the lag comes from the cpu scaling.

I haven't had any issue with keyboard lag on my s7. I am using SwiftKey. The stock keyboard is a joke. I hated it with the s6 and automatically switched when I powered on my s7.

As I already said, I have the same problems with the swiftkey, so it isn't a problem of the stock keyboard.. I've tried the S7 edge of my friend and it doesn't have this problem..
I have the same problem with Swiftkey on my galaxy s7 edge. Have compared it to my Xperia Z2 and it definitely lags
Edit: Also lags on Google keyboard and stock.
The swipe trail on Google Keyboard is laggy too. This sucks.
Samsung fix it!!

I was having a lag issue with my keyboard too not long after I got my S7. Not sure what caused it, but doing a factory reset fixed it. Have you tried that?
I haven't tried that, would rather avoid a factory reset. Google keyboard seems much better after I turned off swipe trail.

So, I got an Honor 8 recently and I've noticed a bit of lag on 3rd party keyboards, Fleksy in particular. When I try to use the swipe to space or delete gestures in Fleksy the 8 doesn't register it and just types letters instead pretty often. It was bad enough that I had to give up on using it. Even upon switching to GBoard I feel like I noticed some lag when typing quickly. It went away after disabling vibrate and pop up on keypress.
It just seems strange. I've used Fleksy for years on multiple phones and never had this problem. In-between my OnePlus X and Honor 8 I used it on an $80 Samsung phone and it worked flawlessly. Is this a problem anybody else has had with the Honor 8?

No, I'm not really getting any noticable lag on either of them. I'm not entirely sure if lag is the problem or just something with the Fleksy gestures and the Honor 8 but I haven't seen anybody else with the phone say anything about it.

Hm... I just tried Fleksy, and I'm having some LAG with it as well. I have noticed that if I change Fleksy language to English, there's no LAG at all, but when I change it to my language (hungarian), which is in "beta" there is LAG.
Do you use it on another language and not English?

It doesn't do "Swype" like tracing a complete pattern to type. It just has gestures like swipe left to delete the last word, swipe right to space, swipe right twice to punctuate then swipe up or down to change punctuation and swiping up/down to change the last word you typed. Once you get used to the gestures they're just really useful and can make typing a little quicker.

I don't think lag is the right term. It's not really lag just not properly registering the swipe gestures the way it's supposed to.

Edit: Resolved - For over 10 years, I have been using the BACK button to close activities. All of them. When I want to return to the launcher, I just press BACK from withing the given app until I get 'back' to the launcher. Why wouldn't I do this? It's how you close an app. Well, I hit the HOME button instead of using BACK to exit the app gracefully like I do for all other apps I run.. and.. AOE works. I don't get it. I'm not much of an Android developer, and I hate everything Google has done to Android in the last 5 years, but what gives here? I assume (and I can see) that the backgroud service still runs after the activity closes, so why would I want to leave the activity open and return to the launcher without gracefully closing the current activity? Anyway.. if I leave the activity open, it seems to work as expected, but not if I close the activity. Go figure.

I am using Resurrection Remix 8.6.7 on OnePlus 7 Pro. I've tried Plus Beat, True Edge, and now Always On Edge. I can't get any of them to work. Plus Beat came the closest by repeatedly flashing the lock screen, but I really want to use AOE and I would like to see the edge 'horizon' lights. I've given AOE every permission and accessibility service I know how to, and it still does not work.
Is it possible to use AOE on One Plus 7 Pro with Resurrection Remix 8.6.7 (Android Q10 based, and goes on top of OOS 10.3.8)?
